The real reason NH is trash would be the fact that those idiots couldn’t RP their way out of a paper bag with verbal instructions in their ear the entire time. Have you ever watched the group chat? Half the time they aren’t actually anywhere near the place. Most of the time they haven’t a clue which tense to type in so they mix past, present and future all in the same sentence (hint for those of you reading “he/she would…”, is not how you type out something you are currently rp-ing). If you leave it open for a few hours I guarantee you’ll see at least three “women” post about their pregnancy, their fight with their husband/baby daddy, and their depression. You’ll probably also see at least two or three “kids” pretend to be homeless to see who is willing to give them lindens/a home/stuff. You’ll see a few of them talk about their mental health, repeatedly. The one thing you will never see is any of them talking to anyone actually new. If you go to any of their events, they won’t talk to you. Most of the time the events are actually dead quiet, save for the occasional local generic line.
If you wander around the place I can almost guarantee anyone you find, won’t talk to you. It doesn’t matter if you talk in local or IM, IC or OOC, they won’t answer you. It’s one of the weirdest places I’ve ever walked around. Also, whoever suggested the other week they always have 40-70 people at any given time, is an idiot, lol. You can usually count how many people are there, between the different regions, on less than two hands.

I was there yesterday, for about 3 hours, wandering and chatting with a friend. There was never, in that entire 3 hours, 40 people spread out about the regions. That doesn’t make it a bad place in and of itself. But it’s a lie to say there is always that many people, when like most places, there just isn’t. You know there’s nothing wrong with having a positive opinion about the place and still being able to see where improvements are needed, right?
I am active in NH, I’m there all the time. I have friends there. Most people who don’t use the damn group chat and discord to RP everything out can see just how cringey some of these people are-and why they keep a lot of new people away. That you can’t speaks more about you than it does me. Most RP communities in sl-well all really, have their faults. All need improvements. All have people who can’t RP for shit. All have drama. All have ass kissers like yourself who can’t see past that bit of brown on the end of your nose.

Of all the people I talk to when I visit these communities posted on this site I have learned a lot. I split my time between two new haven and Woodcrest. I love Woodcrest and I been there for well over a year as one of the few people not participating in erp. But let me tell you some of the shiz that goes down and why it has soured me lately.
Bliss is controlling and if you are someone in her list and online and not at Woodcrest then let tell you she will message and harass you about not being there. She is very insecure about people leaving and sends her close friends and staff to spy on and harass former members and other places that she thinks pose a threat to her existence. Thats what i been gathering at least as far as the verbal attacks on other places go. She also doesnt deal with complaints against people in her circle and ignores the main issue of the place being all about sex. I cant begin to count how many times I walked into a place and saw people fucking or girls giving bjs to frat boys. Its an adult community marketed to teenagers. but I have made good friends and I have a good storyline going so I will finish that and graduate before taking my leave. if there was more actual teaching going on and less sex I’d probably stay but I personally don’t care to be in a place that attacks others the way the vindictive girls at Woodcrest do.
Now I am also in nh and with most big places it has its issues to. It has a lot of unfinished business and details to finish working out but its a new place so to be expected. The people are friendly enough and I never had a shortage of someone to talk to or help when asked but they def need more help on general maintenance. The sims are active and I been to a couple events that were packed. Nh has no shortage of activities or things to do but I had seen that if you start drama you are gone so idk if they are trigger happy or dont want to deal with idiots. I’ll continue to rp there because the other community rp places I been to are dead or the managers are rude and hateful but I’m beginning to learn that its people that hate themselves and only have negative shit to say are the ones that spoil the funfor everyone.
I been asking what people think is the deal between Woodcrest and nh to see what there thoughts are but over time i rather form my own opinion and suggest everyone do the same. not everything in a place will be to your taste but it doesn’t make it bad. I avoid rp I don’t like and stick to what I do but thats the freedom of things that people can do whatever they want

Yes I have been to NH, I’m there quite often actually. I enjoy watching the shit show sometimes, it’s entertaining. Have you ever actually had the group chat open for more than a short while? I like leaving it open while I’m working and some of the shit those “kids” come up with in their “RP” is ridiculous. Pretending to be homeless, asking people to buy them food, hinting at needing things. They definitely do not get banned for it. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen some dumbass “RP” back in the chat after some “kid” acts like they’re homeless or needing money for something they “really want”. There are likely more kids in the chat than you’ll ever actually see on any of the regions. That’s where most of them do their cringey “RP”.
A lot of the “adults” aren’t much better, at least most of the ones in the actual group chat haven’t the slightest clue how to actually roleplay. It’s not much different than most other RP places in that right though. It is a nice place to wander around, at least if you don’t intend to interact with anyone because they won’t anyway. I just don’t understand how so many places can fuck up roleplaying of all things, it’s not that hard.

Most of time it’s someone roleplaying that they are sitting at their desk, taking a drink and sighing. It’s been like that in all roleplay towns in sl since they existed. Little dots sitting in their houses alone randomly trying to fish for attention. The whole thing is narcissism. Sometimes there’s a fire or a crime, again for attention, again but always it’s meh. This includes known gender therapies in adults. Can not do so in a home with children. Any counselor, teacher or random adult so much as discusses with or around a minor can face prison and put on sex offender list. 19) Happy Weekend Sale/Access/Alpha/Cyber Fair/Essential Inventory are all owned by the same person. So it makes sense why they would back out of working with Seraphim. They are actively trying to copy Seraphim’s ideas, and contribution to Second Life.
When you take a look at the EI website – you have to scroll past 11 Ads in order to get to any sort of blog feed that is not sponsored (paid ad); 4 of them are permanent ads at the top. These are specifically for their brands HWS/Access/Alpha/Cyber Fair, while the rest are paid for from other brands and then a few more for HW and Alpha.
This type of set up only benefits the conglomerate that is HWS/Essential Inventory – they want to direct you only to things they benefit from – so its a biased website designed to keep you engaged with only their products. Not to mention the section of this website where you can see group gifts they are commissioning designers for in order to grow their in-world group.
Seraphim on the other hand has NO bias – they cover all brands, events, venues and sales without discrimination. They do not have an investment in anything other than compiling everything that is going on with Second Life.They have a standard way of taking photos, that makes it clear and understandable what is being advertised. Not to mention – that they have been doing this as a standard fo YEARS.
Same with SugarSL. They have no bias in the matter of what content they cover – their goal is to cover as much as possible. Yes both of these websites have ads – but those are necessary for any website to keep it going. However the difference we see here is that the ads are not intrusive on Seraphim or SugarSL. They are there for people to purchase, and there is no locked position/permanent ad space for any sort of content biasedly associated with the publications.
Essential Inventory was purchased not too long ago – and it used to be a great resource. It is now an abomination of a website.
The HW Sale move to their own purchased platform is a really bad move, and they are burning a really great bridge and community by doing this.

From what I understand you can sign up for Happy Weekend right up till the last minute the sale goes live. Magika probably has the best in terms of texture. She has stopped doing styles with her releases for both front and behind the shoulders versions, which makes me sad. But they are still really good.
I also really like Foxy. Their textures are not the best; but they have really cute styles.
The worst I have tried recently is Nova, I’d stay away from her hairs. Her styles are cute but her meshes tend to be a glitchy mess. Textures also look weird and blurry, and the hair base looks fucked. I also see comments a lot of times from customers that had issues with vendors, and they can’t get ahold of her to get it fixed.

Agreed here, Magika is my favorite, and Stealthic looks good if you like their color options; I’m personally not a fan of them. I agree that Foxy has some good ideas, but the textures are definitely not very realistic, her edges are pretty busted, and on most sizes of updos and pony tails, the mesh gaps a lot at the nape of the neck. I think Wasabi looks better than Foxy, most of the time. Rama has also been doing very well since their last texture update- prior to that they were unwearable to me, but I own nearly everything since.

Since Truth stopped making the left and right sides mirrored, his hair has been as up to date as anyone else’s. It’s alpha mesh with hairbase edges, and there are ombre and streak options in every single release and color pack. He offers more head sizes than most, and comparable styling/accessory options to anyone. My only gripe is that he charges almost as much for the Essential pack as some other creators do for their fatpacks, but that’s still not a lot of Ls. So I guess I have to ask, outdated how? Because you don’t like any of his shades of black?

What do you mean about abandoning his VIP members. There is a semi-new VIP hair available to them now. I think it’s called cupcake or something, it’s not that bad looking. Truth does offer VIP gifts more often than some other hair creators. At least the group join fee is “only” $350 too and for anyone new to sl they can get some of the nicer, albeit it older still nice, hair styles that were group gifts. The newer hair is definitely better quality, but for folks with a little less to spend, at least those things are still there.
Look at Stealthic hair group join fee which is absolutely ridiculously high. Then go look at the group gifts you get with that fee. They’re horrendous, awful quality and not what you’d expect for that fee. I like both Stealthic and Truth hairs, at least some from each. I also like that they both have different styling built into some of their hairs, but I like Truth prices better.
The stupid hair Stealthic put out in the recent event with that whole “basic, upgrade, full pack” was pretty fucking stupid. The basic and upgrade(upgrade has no hair, btw, you have to buy basic to even use the upgrade) together cost the same as the fatpack. You literally spend the same amount to do anything with it. It’s not a bad hair actually, just a dumb fucking selling practice that says all one needs to know about how Stealthic thinks of customers (that they’re morons, clearly). I was watching people bitching about it at the event the other day. It also has some weird fit issues where it cuts into the head/neck and it shouldn’t.
The Saturday Sale Truth put out, not the one pictured here but the other one has some seriously messed up areas with that alpha issue, though. It looks ridiculous on just about everyone I’ve seen wearing it.
I guess that’s just a long winded way of saying all hair creators are capable of making both good and bad decisions, all across the board. Whether it’s in creating, marketing or pricing. I think people put them up on pedestals a bit too much. Sometimes, they all just suck.

Arguably, FAGA hair with Truth’s textures look better – but the mesh is absolutely garbage. FAGA hair textures have this weird extrEEEEM highlighting throughout all of the strands, leaving no variety and transitional space. Objectively this is bad art – since its repetitive and stagnant. The mesh is low quality as well, glitching, breaking, stiff looking without an ounce of life in it. I was excited for the collaborations, thinking that Truth may be helping these other creators get up to speed but it looks like its just a cash farm to sell more shitty hair with slightly better textures.
Wasabi hair at least is arful, pretty and enjoyable to look at, its very unfortunate that what ever head they are using to model on (probably a catwa head) is super domed and I can never wear it. 3 to 5 roleplayers are a lot when you have a army of “professors” and only 6 of them are actually roleplaying classes IN LOCAL. What you have are a bunch of sex ed professors who use the tag to IM “private sessions”. I know… I’ve taken the private study sessions.

Woodcrest is still number one university in all of SL. You can talk about closing down Omega, but it was a nerd Frat that had no nerds, except one and most of them weren’t active, so what’s the point of keeping a cult group that does not understand they are a PART of a sim, not above the sim? As for Professors leaving, ask any RP school if that doesn’t happen a lot. But Yet, they still get new Professors daily.

I’ve been to both places and nh is far more active and a general community where wc is specific. They probably have more luck having a partnership than bickering at one another

New Haven is stupid to give Jack any powers there. Jack and Max are fat egotistical fools that think they are popular when they aren’t. They are USERS, they use their friends to gain power or money through tips when they DJ. They will plunder NH, and talk shit secretly behind their backs while pretending to be their friends. Better do what they say or you will be unfriended, don’t have your own opinions or thoughts. That’s what they do. Many hate them for it, so will you, in time.

Woodcrest, sadly, isn’t going anywhere. However, it’s not exactly the gold standard in college roleplay sims. The struggle is getting NEW roleplayers. It’s basically the same 20 people and their alts that keep the sim at the top of searches. So as long as those same people sit on sim, it will always be a reigning force, but as far as roleplay, Woodcrest is probably the lowest rating. Admin would fail, because they aren’t much different from other toxic sim administration. The build had sadly gone downhill. It’s so poorly designed that some buildings, streets and sidewalks make no sense. Like… why is a building sitting on a sidewalk? Why is there a tropical clubhouse in the middle of an unban neighborhood? Who thought that was cute? What is with all the static buildings? Are the sim builders out of ideas on how to use landscaping? Or do they just think Starpugs and Tight Ends are the only spots to roleplay since the school itself is hardly used. Let’s not even begin the conversation about the Greek life. I don’t have all day.

32. Uuuh idk what she did to you, but I’ve personally worked with her for a while and she’s never brought in any underage people to the clubs she’s worked at? If anything they’re always way older tbh. And the clubs do indeed check age. Maybe like..fact check before you dish out accusations like that and look like a bigger asshole cause there are actual predators out there and I can tell you she ain’t one of them. I can tell you, just from seeing some of the things she posts and knowing a few of the people she’s ‘blocked’, she is one of the worst drama starters out there. She will literally stalk someone’s page and post similar posts to a person she has sworn was horrible to her. She stalks their followers and if she can’t get them to side with her and turn against them she’ll block them instead, even if she’s never interacted with those people. It is down right creepy how invested she is in trying to destroy or make someone miserable when they decide not to be her friend anymore.
So good luck to you. Hopefully you are right and she’s changed. Otherwise you are in for a world of hurt when you decide to go your separate way from her.

Pretty much every place is better than ROC. That’s not exactly a high bar there to pass. I wonder what it feels like to know you’re the bottom of the barrel – have players leave constantly only to crawl back when they’ve been banned at other places, only to leave again when a new one opens up, only to crawl back once they’ve been banned or ragequit again.
Fortunately, their lore is a labyrinthine mess of dogshit the sim owner ejaculates out with no regard to playability, let alone readability, so there’s always new characters to app for!

Don’t forget that the lore changes on a whim to undercut players who are making things happen, or beef up houses that suddenly become important to Admin story which will be dropped like a hot rock the moment it bores the staff.
The only thing RoC has going for it is that it continues to exist. It’s just like CD, and ROIAF (they even have Goat/Ellynia/Silua hanging around their OOC area!) As long as it’s there it’s a place for people to stumble into and stand at with their friends until something better comes along.
