  4. 23 – Sometimes creators can’t log on to SL, and email is the only option. I travel a lot for RL work and have been emailing to IM’s customers since it came out and have never had an issue, nor had a customer with an issue. If they need something that requires me to get into SL to do it, I will explain to the customer I am out of town, and give them a time I will be able to log on and help them with their problem. I have never had a problem with a customer not understanding this. Depending on the severity of the issue, I also have a few customer service people to help if I can’t be on. If there were no IM’s to Emails, creators could possibly take days or weeks or months to get back with a customer. Sometimes I will go a month without logging on, unless a customer IM’s me. As a consumer, I would much rather prefer an immediate answer, even if it is to tell me I may need to wait a day for help.

    • This sounds about right. But unfortunately, this is like, anything in general in SL. And a lot of times, there might have been proof. But they didn’t hold on to it long enough because it did more harm to themselves and the federation than waiting for the moment opportunity arises.

    • Alot people in the AFK community can be toxic though, even if you do manage to get a respond from them they reply rudely. Its not as much as a big AFK circle jerk as much as its people who just want to stand in their cliquey circle jerk amongst each other. I for one think Exhale is the worst club ever but its big enough to give you that perceptive that those cliques are on their own side of the place so trying to ease yourself into them is tottally up to them to take you in or not. While Club 511 is so tiny that when you go rez lag yourself in you literally bowlerball yourself into everyone in the entranceway and have to tackle way through everyone else to find a spot to stand in. That and Club 511 is part of a skybox scene which is the only general looking one compared to all the rest that are sexual themed ones. I have no idea how that quiet sim where you would take someone to ERP someone when you had nowhere else to go got so popular lol.
      And the AFK avi dump people definately don’t poseball each other as they are perfer voice or private IM’s to each other.

    Rezz rights were taken away because so many users lacked the basic decency to clean up after themselves after they were finished taking a pic.

    That said, the “pay to rezz” system was removed last weekend, and once again, anyone who is part of the group can rez there. But be aware that if the admins have to clean up after you, you’ll be banned from the sim after the third time.

    • It was a bullshit policy from the beginning – the policy of being kicked out after repeatedly violating was already in place, just not enforced. Instead of enforcing a fair policy, you all chose to create an unfair and greedy one.

      It was only changed back after so many people got angry and starting complaining. Next time, do the right thing from the start.

    #45 Can we give kudos to Volkstone, the guy puts stuff on the sales that’s usually been at an event 2-3 months previously, also Deadwool for the very first week of the TMD sales put out new content with the staple tees with imagery on them. Most stuff in the sales is from 2 years prior which is lame, as you can check with a quick look on the stores Flickr, sales are really lame for Men’s stuff.

    • 511 is so laggy it’s ridiculous. 99% of the furniture never gets used, the people who use the dance poles are almost invariably not worth spending a L$ on (although they clearly need it), and I can almost guarantee you that nobody listens to the jazz. Remove the unnecessary scripted furniture and I bet the lag would drop drastically, although people will still no doubt mill about the landing spot and never move, making it a pain in the ass to even find a decent spot to stand

      • Apparently 511 was moved twice and all they did was move the same sardine sized room and all the useless furniture to the new location. They had ample opportunity to increase the size of the place and create a new landing spot away from the main area.       • To be fair though, Sylvania Square has really toxic history and, while I admit, the group wasn’t careful when partnering with them, Sylvania really did a number on everyone as they went to EVERY SINGLE SLPW FED and just make every little thing awkward and complaints that shouldn’t even have been a complaint until someone from VWE called them out on their bullshit. Which ended up cleaning up a lot of mess since, last I recall, VWE sounded much happier now that no one from Sylvania stops by anymore and they are happy Lyra and Cameron are out of the picture.

        Rocky himself got caught, was confronted, and admitted to posting as “Speak Up!!!” while being in UFW (Not participating ofcourse because his ass don’t want to work with anyone in the fed but rather spread news inside it to that coffee shitstain of a server). I wouldn’t be surprise if it turned out either DJVee or Gisk was posting as “The unfortunate reality”.

        These folks here literally have been trying to cause a rift between not just Valiant & UFW, but as well as Team Wildfire, House of Panes, Sylvania Square, HONOR, Club Ren, NCSW. Even Alyx, a guy who left SL Wrestling months prior to those post (There were several post months ago about each of these places, you can look them up).

        Hell, they shitted on all of these places in multiple post & comments while they were trying to get their fed “Decibel Anthro Wrestling” started up over at Arius City but failed because lack of people.

    • I agree!!!  😂  There are so multiple stores doing this, and the main ones I see are Platinum, Moccino, and Ives Beauty. It deviates from the style of the skins to the photos and even the way she writes her demo. Just the branding, in general, is being copied.

    If you used an account name change to try to hide from someone or perhaps the consequences of your own choices and actions, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your situation.

    If you really wanted to hide with any chance of effectiveness, you’d have created a whole new account and distanced from the old one.

    Protip: if you change your name, as long as they have your old calling card in their inventory, they can find you by double clicking it. If they’ve ever muted or banned you, they will see your new name.

      • I didn’t change my name for nefarious reasons but because my name was horrible. Entirely my fault. I logged in the first time in 09 and thought it I’d just look around and leave, grabbed any old name and was assigned a terrible last name (before residents), not realizing then I’d want to stay. Not everyone changes names because they’re up to something. I don’t mind if people find me, actually would be nice to hear from old friends. SL has become a barren wasteland for many old timers whose friends died in RL or left for good. Anyways…

More that if bad reasons motivated it, you probably need to correct your situation so you’re not needing to hide, and find a better way to hide since the name change method is not great for that goal.

        As you said, you didn’t change yours for anything but personal taste and you don’t care if someone locates you. People who change for reasons like yours typically don’t mind, so the secret isn’t really about them.

  52. I went to Sunny’s studio once as I was looking for a place to take pictures, I didn’t have time to join a group or even read rules before I was banned. All I did was TP in let things rez, instant ban from the sim.

    The new firestorm update has broken a lot of things for me too, a large chunk of my clothes can no longer be seen and materials are gone. I just went back to the previous version.

    • Chances are you weren’t banned, but there is a security orb in place that will remove someone from the land if they aren’t in the group.

    • I’ve been to Sunny’s photo studio so many times. It’s an ok place, but her rules are way too strict for a studio sim to be lackluster. Sunny is doing way too much and she’s average at best.

    • Anyone who thinks a name change will hide their identity is sadly mistaken we’re all assigned UUID’s to our accounts this does not change therefore my profile notes also follow your name change so use your profile notes and make sure you always mark the A-Holes etc. then you’ll never be fooled… Also there’s a script you can make that you put in an old name and it will reply with the new name. FUN! 🙂

      • Anyone that obsessed with a person probably needs help. Just profile note them like the rest of us and move on.

      • Point is you don’t need to be obsessed to easily know who’s who, can also keep a folder with a calling card in it the name changes the folder don’t.

      • Why bother? I can’t imagine living your whole Second Life making sure to keep up to date tabs on everyone who is a jerk or who you think is a jerk to the point of making a script, keeping old calling cards, and memorizing their UUID. If someone really did something horrible, profile note it and move on.

However, I do kinda wish we could grab and pull things up or down in the edit window, rather than having to click the little arrow over and over, and depending on lag sometimes it reverts. Not a big enough deal to make a VS over though, like that goes beyond first world problems to metaverse “problems”.

  59. #14 Believe it or not there’s already a way to organize your BoM layers in the viewer… Instead of whining on VS maybe you could have asked someone or looked it up.
    If you go to the Appearance window and click the wearing tab then right click a BoM layer then select “edit outfit” then all your BOM layers have little up and down arrows next to them to move them up and down in the BOM layer stack. WOW it’s already there and you look like an idiot! Bravo!

    That said, if people would clean up after themselves that measure would never have been put into place to begin with. The staff at the studio should not have to spend a half hour cleaning up stray prims and clearing out sets that are left open several times a day because people coming to the studio just inconsiderately don’t give a shit about anyone else using the place. Nor should they have to deal with the rude, and outright nasty backtalk when someone is informed that they violated a rule.

    • You can put things into the land to auto clean like every other sandbox uses. It’s not that complicated and they can stop wasting their time cleaning up. I swear they don’t turn it on because they enjoy the power trip of yelling at people who made an mistake, crashed, etc. They keep complaining about it , yet do nothing to actually help solve their issues.
