    • I’ve figured out how it works, and put it too use in Blender. I agree it is a useful tool. Plus, I could provide some support within the Discord channel, but I don’t want anything to do with him or his server because of this very issue. Without a community of users that can support new users, the addon isn’t going to go anywhere. . He COULD be an adult and realize that he can’t be an island, and the planet doesn’t revolve around his god like skills, but he won’t. It’s too bad.

I think each designer have his personal preferences and their own creativity. Making all the booths black is like missing their personality. Each designer has a special booth color and style that matches each logo, style etc. I like when I go to events to see different colors in the booths and also I can recognize some of the designers just by their booth color and style. It was to the point where, at a certain club, if you don’t give them a “valid reason” for not making hours you get “written up” for it. If you don’t talk within every 5 minutes or so on stage you get “written up”. If you game frequently with a vip and talk about it in local you get “written up “. If lag is causing you not to undress fast enough you get “written up” .That’s not normal or healthy especially since this is a game. That actually sounds like a toxic relationship.
        I wish more people in that world would actually see that there’s things that every person should try to experience rather than building their self worth on their virtual stripper persona because at the end of the day, that shit doesn’t matter and it gets hella toxic. Being a jealous toxic dramatic little shit that tries to get others to do the same doesn’t get you anything, except turning into a bitter person that goes hard defending a virtual club.

    Same things as last week and maybe the week before. If someone doesn’t like someone else, why not just ignore then and the stupid shit they do. No one cares who’s using alts and if people don’t fit in with Cedar Creek than maybe move somewhere you do? Though the problem is any rp place I’ve been to has the same shit going on. If you do things for you fun and your friend’s fun then you shouldn’t ever have to worry about who’s who or what is going on.

    Events can be dull sometimes, but I’m not here for events, I like the one on one or small roleplays and that makes any sim fun to me. Does Carrot like attention, yeah she does and so does anyone who posts in the township chat. They post there to have people see what they’re up to and if someone doesn’t like it, then go on about your business.

    Any roleplay simulation is as good as you want it to be. If you have a bad experience then that place is gonna be bad for you. If you don’t get someone in one of the departments that you think you should get, then it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. If you realize it’s sl and not rl and just go to have fun and pick your friends wisely then any sim can be fun.

    We can all stand here and pick on anyone in any sim, it’s just better to brush your shoulders off and find people that enjoy you and you enjoy them. It’s hard because of so many fake people, but it’s doable just like in rl. You all have a good one and perhaps we’ll run into each other.

    I know the live and let live thing doesn’t fit in many people’s narrative’s but it’s so much easier to just have your own fun rather than the drama. I hope you all have a good time in whatever sim you like.

  22. 13) This club is a fucking drama factory. If it’s not something about how it’s being run, it’s something about the dancers or the patrons. I’ve heard so many claims and complaints of racism, homophobia, transphobia, pedophilic allegations, scams, blackmail, people making RL threats against other people, forged SL and Discord chat logs. If you ask me, the whole damn place needs to shut down or have a complete revamp of the management system. The owners are greedy clueless enablers, the managers are on power trips, the leads are narcissists and the dancers are just worker ants that have no idea the kind of toxic environment they’re in. If you love and thrive in drama, this is the place for you. If you want to work and have some sense of peace, go literally ANYWHERE else.

The vips feel like they’re good enough to pull strippers and they start working there and then the vips that were tipping don’t get tipped in return so they find new people to bring into the cycle. Yeah it results in alot of traffic but the turnover rate is what this all boils down too. I think I saw someone else say that if these clubs were on different sims they would average out the same traffic as any other place because you’re taking two clubs with different clientele and lumping their numbers together. No one’s saying that V/S doesn’t have high traffic but anyone with an baseline knowledge of statistics and numbers will tell you that there’s always a story behind numbers. The story here is that, V/S pulls high traffic because they use their size to their advantage, exploit their hours system, their lower tier employees. They’re not a good club because the have some type of excellence that beats out every other club that has existed but they have learned from other clubs to exploit what works and what doesn’t. It’s one big MLM. The only people that benefit are the ones at the top. But because of the nature of SL, this system will fall apart out of nowhere. Strip clubs aren’t sustainable especially coed clubs. There’s a reason one pops up every two years, seems to dominate traffic and then vanish into nothing seemingly overnight. I’m predicting it now, in 2 years, V/S will be a shell of what it once was, if it’s still around.

      • I used to work there and let me just say, you might make 80k L$ which is roughly around 330 USD but let’s just say 350 USD on an exceedingly good day and that might be three days out of a month and if you don’t have Lovense toy, you’re not going to make anything close to that. If you actually add up all the time that these people spend on stage vs the actual “hundreds of dollars a day” you say they make, it averages out to below minimum wage unless you’re putting in 70+ hours a week which some do because this is their actual job and even then figuring in exchange rates, processing fees, and the taxes they have to pay out of it at the end of the year because they cash out that money, and that’s not even including if they put money back into SL by tipping other dancers or shopping. You’re really not making anymore than what someone flipping burgers would make for 40 hours a week but for way more time and drama and nothing to actually show for it.

      • Canada’s health care is very basic, it covers health care and some other stuff, but it does not cover dental, or eye care usually. One has to pay out of pocket for those unless having some kind of insurance. Most people have to pay for medications unless they are lucky enough to get government coverage, even then not everything is covered. Some actual research does work wonders. Private insurance is very much alive and well in Canada

    There’s free or cheaper alternatives to all those programs. You don’t NEED maya, zbrush, substance, or photoshop to make items. Blender is a decent free alternative to the first three, being a 3D software with sculpting, texture painting, and node-based shader editing. Paid addons can bring it closer to parity with those programs too, for way cheaper and offering way more features. I’ve heard great things about armor paint as an alternative to substance painter ($20 perpetual license,) quixel mixer is another alternative that is totally free. There’s countless free art programs like krita, GIMP, sumopaint, etc. I personally use blender and clip studio paint (which is fairly cheap and goes on sale multiple times a year, making it even cheaper.) Most designers don’t rent a whole full sim to themselves, most only have a homestead or share the sim with other stores either in a mall, or splitting the land between a couple other stores.

    I don’t know how often you think computer parts need to be replaced, but my current computer is a couple years old now and cost around $600 to build. It can run multiple instances of blender while baking high-res textures, csp with a large amount of images open, and second life on high graphics all at the same time with minimal issues. You don’t need to constantly have all the top-of-the-line gaming PC parts to do your work.

    All of what you listed basically only applies to the extreme top earners who probably don’t even feel a dent in their profits with those fees. The most I’ve ever personally made from an event was $100 USD, but I don’t run a big store nor do I participate in large-scale, mega-hyped events so my entry fees are also proportionally lower. A friend of mine made about $700 USD in the first week ALONE in a mid-size event. The vendors at the big, popular events are definitely bringing in at least a couple thousand on the extreme low end, a $50 fee to make a much bigger profit is nothing. Like, yeah, designers can and should charge whatever the hell they please, including increasing prices as they see fit, but the situation you’re presenting is far from the reality of most store owners on SL.

    • As a creator, I only partially agree with you on this.

      Zbrush handles organic sculpting much better than blender does in its current state. The Blender foundation is constantly working on updating their software, but it currently cannot handle dense mesh as seamlessly as Zbrush does. Blender gets very clunky once you start editing over a million polys, whereas Zbrush only starts to struggle on my machine over 7 million.

      Substance painter is much more beginner friendly and has a lot of easy to use features built right in, making it much easier to use than trying to learn how to use nodes, which is why it’s the program of choice for a lot of SL creators. Quixel does NOT allow commercial use for their free version of the software, so it’s immediately out of the running for SL creators. Never heard of ArmorPaint before.

      GIMP is a good alternative to Photoshop, but again, most good tutorials out there reference photoshop, which is difficult to translate into other software if you don’t know how to use them.

      Not all creators have a full sim, nor is it necessary. I have one, but I also rent out half of it to my friends and only a quarter of it is dedicated to my store. Is it a needed expense? No….but it’s nice to have a safe place to do my work and host my store on.

      As for the computer parts, while it’s not necessary, having a better computer helps with the process. I would try to import a 2m poly count mesh into blender on my 3 year old computer and I would have to sit there for a good 30-45 minutes before it would fully import. After upgrading, my PC can now do it in less than 30 seconds. Same with renders. It’s just faster. And in the real world, time = money. So it’s worth investing in better parts to help your process move faster so you can create more items in the same amount of time.

      And no, that secret doesn’t just apply to top end earners. I’m no top end earner, and I have most of these fees. The only one I don’t use is Maya. Are a lot of these fees absolutely necessary? No, they’re not, but unfortunately unless you spend money, you’ll struggle to become known enough to make any money. I used to be the one man show who kept my fees close to nothing….and it was so much hustle that I burnt myself out REPEATEDLY over the course of 10 years.

      Honestly, you sound just like a boomer talking down to the younger generations with the “well if you’d stop getting starbucks every day you’d afford a house by now.”

      • I’m not sure when the last time you used blender for sculpting was, what version you used, or what specs your computer has/had, but blender is perfectly capable of handling dense mesh in its current state. I just went in and played around with sculpting models of varying complexity levels. The point it started slowing down even a bit for me was around 6 mil tris, but only on operations that altered large amounts of topology at once and it was just a slight FPS drop for everything except modifier operations like triangulate, which took a bit of time but also I had no reason to be doing it. The point it started taking a considerable amount of time was around 15 mil, but even then that was only when switching editing modes or importing. Actual editing was a bit sluggish but still functional in real-time up to around 25 mil where I stopped testing.

        I don’t know where you heard that quixel mixer isn’t free for commercial use either, they only disallow selling things made using their megascan texture library. There are many alternative textures that can be used instead of their megascans, my personal favorite PBR library in general is 3D Textures by Joao Paulo.

        As for armor paint, like I said, I’ve heard really good things about it. It’s not quite to parity with painter, but it doesn’t really have to be for a considerable amount of use-cases. It has some features that substance doesn’t, like a free addon for blender and maya to stream data to them. I did also find out while looking into it, that it’s free if you’re willing to compile it yourself from the open-source code on github, so the $20 license is just a convenience fee for having it pre-compiled and a donation to support the devs. The general layout and workflow of it seems to be extremely similar to painter, and they appear to be adding features from designer and alchemist as well. Another couple years to mature and I’m sure it’ll be a pretty competent tool.

        What you said about sharing a full sim with your friends is exactly the point I was making, we’re in agreement there. Most people don’t have a full sim entirely to themselves, so saying the price of a full sim is a monthly expense isn’t realistic for most people unless they have some exceptional need for it. Of course people need a private space to work, I certainly do. I’m not saying people should be like, working in public sandboxes all the time.

        Having a higher spec computer is definitely nice and more efficient if you’re working on things at a large scale. My point is more that for many people, buying computer parts regularly (like, “replacing nearly everything once a year” regularly) is a luxury more than a necessity. Sometimes it IS necessary to upgrade your computer, but it can be a lot more gradual.

        I say all of this because “breakdowns” like #36 can be incredibly intimidating to people who are curious about getting into creating things for SL, I definitely was when I first started. It can feel like if you’re not at a top-level industry professional standard outside of SL, there’s no place for you outside of making personal items when that’s far from the truth. I’m not telling people to scrimp and save if they’re doing just fine, spend your money however the hell you want, I’m not your dad. All I’m saying is that if your expenses are a bit tighter, like mine, it’s completely reasonable to use alternatives and many people do. I don’t want the representation of being a designer to only reflect large stores.

        If you’ve been a designer on SL for 10+ years, the landscape has changed a lot. Software has evolved a lot since then, new stuff has been released, new features have been implemented, computers are more powerful. The bar for entry is also a lot higher than it used to be, there’s more an more pressure being put on newbies to be able to learn more and more skills and have more technical diversity, there’s a lot of catch-up to do. There’s tools out there to help them achieve that. Like how you’ve branched out to using more paid programs to improve your workflow, there’s comparable software out there now for people with a tighter budget, or who aren’t ready to (or don’t want to) commit to full-time work and monthly payments for tools they won’t always be using.

        Also, me saying that the info provided only really applies to the top earners is more directed at… Everything else about the image beyond the software expenses. The income/expense example they gave is just weird. I don’t personally know anyone who’s getting a $40k annual income from SL, let alone who’s selling all of it for real-world currency and seemingly don’t have an accountant to help with filing all their tax info correctly. It only covers the subscription fees they listed and some arbitrary amount of taxes with no citation of what calculations they’re using. They’re not using their 30-40% estimate, the listed tax rate only about 25%. Tax rate and taxes owed fluctuates MASSIVELY based on country/state/whatever, actual total income, and what you claim as deductions.

      • Okay well my last attempt at a reply was too long and got flagged as spam I think, so I’ll try to be more concise this time.

        1- Blender is capable of handling high topology sculpting in its current state, I can get to around 6 mil tris with only a bit of dropped frames, and tested all the way up to 24 mil where it was pretty sluggish but still somewhat functional in real-time. They’ve been doing a lot of work on the sculpting tools.

        2- Quixel mixer is free for commercial use if you don’t use their megascan texture library. There’s plenty of other PBR texture libraries, my favorite is 3D textures by Joao Paulo. Armor paint still needs a couple years to be fully competent, but it’s very similar to substance painter in terms of layout and functionality, so it’s a good tool for people on a budget or beginners. I also found out that it’s free if you compile it yourself from github, the $20 is a convenience fee/donation.

        3- There’s a ton of tutorials and resources for basically every art program out there, you just have to actually look for them.

        4- Yes, that’s exactly the point I was making, we’re in agreement there. My point was that most people don’t have a full sim entirely to themselves.

        5- Upgrading your PC can be necessary sometimes, my point was more that upgrading extremely regularly, like multiple new parts every year, often is a luxury more than anything.

        6- Me saying that their list only applies to the top earners was about everything else beyond the software, I just talked mainly about the software because I had the most to say about it. Their income/expense example is weird, I don’t know anyone who makes $40k of SL, sells it all, and seemingly doesn’t have an accountant to help make sure they file their taxes right so they have absurdly high tax rates like that. They also ONLY cover the cost of the monthly subs, nothing else.

        7- I say all of this for two reasons. One, because graphics like that can be intimidating to new creators, and effectively discourage them. It can make them feel like if they’re not good enough if they’re not using the top-of-the-line, industry standard stuff. Two, if you’re losing almost half your income to base business expenses like their example and it’s making you hurt financially, something is Probably going wrong and you should examine your spending a bit. If you’re completely fine financially, spend your money on whatever the hell you want, I’m not your dad.

        8- If you’ve been making stuff for 10 years, the landscape had changed a lot. There’s a lot more tools now, and they’ve been updated majorly. There’s also a lot higher expectations for creators than there used to be. My point isn’t “you shouldn’t be using quality tools to help you,” it’s “there are quality tools out there besides the well-known, expensive ones if you need them.”

      yes you can do with less, but not if you do it all by yourself. mesh designing, sizing, rigging, texturing, scripting, vendors, photos. a lot goes into designing for sl if you want to make any profit. sick of people downplaying it because very large brands have “teams” of people working the production line and making a fast turn-over.

      you say you dont make a lot, and you can do with less fees. great, but those of us who are not a giant team but not a small brand either do invest more into our creations if we want to make any profit. there is a difference between a hobby and SL designing being your job. what you describe is a hobby.

If they had Shafted and Velvet Tunnel on different sims you would see they average the same traffic as every other club. I knew Caprice and her management teams weren’t too bright but apparently the patrons aren’t either. Every coed club that has ever existed always has high traffic because of this reason, it’s a way to manipulate the traffic and search system. Quantity ≠ Quality and V/S is a perfect example for that. The girls all sound like a bad hentai parody or who can fake an accent and lie about their life the most and the guys are all carbon copies of each other from looks to voices. If you don’t need to pay for it, you can find better action at any adult hangout. Thank God for Lovense and the desperate patrons because it’s the only thing keeping them afloat…well that and exploiting whatever creator connections that Nadiya and her “family” has. I give V/S another year…if that…or you know whenever Caprice kicks the bucket from one of her many “illnesses”.

You should be kissing their tail not whining because of all the exposure you are getting, not whining because they don’t have to pay a fee. Or is just speculation or rumors of envy store owners that wish to have as much success as those big brands, but do not invest time and money boosting their socials to actually create their own customers data base? 🤔

      • If you are the owner of a new(er) event with a lot of money to invest you are going to make some deals to get some big brands to come to your event. Look at shopping malls 20-30 years ago before the rise of Amazon shopping. If wanted to build a new mall you need anchor stores like Macy’s, JCPenney, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom’s, ect. Those anchors get incredible discounts per square foot. Simple reason being you are not going to attract smaller businesses (and customers) without a commitment from anchors. These smaller businesses rely on the foot traffic these stores create. If they didn’t need or want it they would have standalone locations elsewhere. So, with SL events how do you really know who pays what? The answer is you don’t. Only the event owner and the anchor knows. The question you really should be asking yourself is “Am I getting value for my entry fee?”. Not bickering about “This isn’t fair! This brand gets discounted fees. this brand pays nothing and this brand is being paid by the event to be there!”. If you are one of the ones who bickers you will never make a dime.

    First of all why are you paying 225 dollars a month for MAYA, when most SL creators use Blender, and most tools made for SL content creation (Avastar, Bento Buddy) are for Blender. Blender is extremely good, and it’s FREE. You are shooting yourself in the foot by paying for Maya.

    Secondly… stop paying for subscription software. It’s predatory, unethical, and there are plenty of free alternatives, whether you pirate it or even free, completely legal alternatives. For example, Photoshop is garbage these days, I wouldn’t even recommend pirating it. Affinity Photo & Clip Studio paint can do everything Photoshop does, except both are inexpensive, one-time-fee software. Substance painter can easily be pirated/cracked, but there are also other alternatives out there.

    Honestly, it sounds like you’re one of those stuck-up creators who goes on about doing it “the professional industry way” while shitting out godawful, unoptimized shitty high-poly mesh that they sculpted in Zbrush and never did any retopology on. Maybe I’m wrong. But subscription software is basically an idiot test… and you have failed.

    Complaining that creating is “too expensive” while paying for all of these… is as dumb as saying your RL job doesn’t pay enough, because you “needed” to spend your money on luxury cars, or private jet trips to your job. Outside of paying for 2-3 art programs I use outside of SL too, none of which were over $40 each for a one-time purchase, I have put no more than the minimum L$ purchase ($5 if memory serves correct) into SL, and I have made a profit from it.

    #51: Sugarcult’s heads make me sad because there was potential, but the lazy, greedy creator ruins it every time. Take for instance the Katzen head (top left and top right of the image) It looks nice in the right lighting, but for some reason the creator meshed in these god awful,low poly eyebrow arches, way too high on the face, and a forehead that is badly weighted and deforms if you move the head sliders even a little bit. Which is weird because almost all of their other heads have the forehead weighting disabled, and most of the sliders too.

    They also have stopped putting as much effort into their stuff since Gachas and it shows. Sugarcult used to make a lot of one-off, lazily made Gacha avatars, but when SL banned them, they basically turned all their new releases into shitty Gacha quality. New heads, especially the most interesting ones (monkey head, fish person) are released as “novelty event items” aka the creator releases them with bugs, extremely limited features, and flaws. Some heads lack asymmetry options, almost all of them are so low poly they become jagged, and there will be glaring obvious bugs like the Fennex head coming with broken animations out of the box, or many of the heads having wall-eyes that you have to manually fix with texture offset.

    Many of these bugs are reported in their Discord, but that Discord is a place that hates any bug report or criticism, instead you’ll just be met with how creating is soooo hard and unfair (even though Sugarcult probably profits more than 95% of furry creators out there).

    As for the Espen… hm. I like the style, and it seems feature heavy. The creator seems to actually care about making it work instead of just shitting out low-effort cash grabs. That’s nice. But to be honest, I’m sick of canine heads. There were like 3 new canine heads released in the same week recently, and most of them all look the same. I really hope August puts out a more unusual head next time, hell even a cat head would be nice, especially with the small eyes. So I guess I will wait to see.

It works for big dogs, wolves and more even hyenas, as it has a very broad snout, but for a lot of other breeds and kinds of canines it just doesn’t work. Saw a Collie today using that head and it was just absolutely unfitting. When browsing for mods out of curiousity I even found exclusively female Shiba mods for it, and for people who know Shibas, female Shibas tend to have a more foxlike face. Even for a male Shiba the head is way too broad.

    So, it definitely has it’s uses, as every other head, but furries really do need to look the fuck up what their animals they want to represent even looks like in the first place. I’m not talking about colours, I’m talking about characteristics and especially faceshapes. And well, sometimes private parts, but that’s mainly an issue with people having a hyena character, thinking they’re canines (which they’re not).

Sometimes mommys and/or daddys want some ERP time, so rather than completely exclude or dismiss the rest of the family from rp they can get a babysitter. Idk what chat you were watching.

        Thirdly, “OmG ThEy aUcTiOned a DoG!” If I remember correctly not one person said it was to fuck or have any sort of mature rp with said dog. I found it a unique opportunity for animal RP. Animal rp is rare and can be quite fun. Notice how I didn’t say fucking the dog?

        So to sum up, either- you weren’t there, are. a fur bunny (as we called them in Gor) bc fucking in the furs is the only rp you know, or worse yet, those were YOUR thoughts. Your brain went to fucking kids and a dog, even though it was crystal clear in chat that it was for babysitting and animal RP. If fucking kids and dogs is immediately where your mind went, then I hope you get the help you rather clearly need.

      One person I know got rejected from the admin team whose qualitive work has led to one of the best outcomes of these kinds of sims, because they didn’t want them to be a Targaryen or one of the big houses. Yet here this new sim is, with 3 admins being Targaryens.

    • A great deal of roles advertised as ‘open’ to app for were NEVER open to app in for. They were already taken by admin/staff/friends that will 100% move toward the goals the sim staff feel important. Not only that, friends of staff are given inside information to not only help their applications, but again, drive the story the staff wants things to go into. This is not speculation, I have seen it FIVE times now. Then you have the “NPC” king making PC choices and playing a PC game so far.

      If you aren’t in the ‘know’ by the staff, you are 100% a background player that will not get anywhere for your RP on the sim. Fodder to enhance their egos.

      And that lore is the biggest bunch of bullshit ever seen. It’s boring, makes no sense and is full of mistakes. How can you mess up that lousy of lore is beyond me.

      And yet, we all know this and they’ve got 50-60 players on sim. Give it 4/5 months like their past few sims and it will be gone. These creators have always had good customer service with me and my friends and family. But if one doesn’t have “social media” to contact them to request an update or complain about a problem and instead comes here to roast them, they’ve made themselves look like an asshole.
