  6. #8 I have been wondering the same thing, I don’t think I have ever seen GenX in the wild. It doesn’t always come with the clothes I buy either but does sometimes.

    I remember when it released, I saw the price and said fuck that like most other people apparently. They were asking $5500 I think, it was some number so high you wouldn’t even consider taking the risk and sure enough you now don’t see it anywhere. I have no idea if they’re still expecting that much for it.

    Apparently they didn’t quite realize that to actually make a dent in the mesh body market you need to charge something people are prepared to lose.

    1 – You are generalizing to multiple designers from one example. You’re not even naming names, so how can any of us know you aren’t pulling that info out of your ass? Your ignorance about rigging has already been properly dragged.

    3 – Name one way they can track which bodies are popular amongst their customers other than by sales per rig. Name two. Surveys don’t count, since non-customers will answer those with the click of a link. Any claim that the BonnieBots will help keep track is bullshit. More people block their crap every day, and compiling that data by downloading and cross-checking would make it harder for them to make new clothing at all.

    I have heard of one designer who overprices per-single and per-rig by your cost statements. I know more who price the one-rig fatpacks at around 500L. But you skip all one-rig fatpacks, so I can only guess you think there are designers doing all-body fats at 500L who aren’t running going out of business sales. You are being a perfect New Yorker cartoon punchline right now.

      • Not if they’re blocked per the private estate you may be on. Estate owners have the option to block scripted agents. BBs are scripted agents.

    • As the other user says, blocking doesn’t work to keep them from pulling data. I’ve been watching BB attachment data since the beginning and it’s been remarkably consistent. You just need to know how to dice it. You can’t rely on finding the most recent version of a body and assume that’s everyone wearing it. Many users continue to use outdated bodies years after the update. Quick glance at the current data as of this comment, for example – there’s 7,774 people wearing Maitreya 5.3, but an additional 3,564 wearing various older versions. Same with Reborn – 3,631 wearing v1.69.6, but 795 wearing older versions.

      The benefit a designer might get from packaging their items per-body is more about their unique customer makeup. Some niches and styles attract people who use particular bodies more than others. Most places should rig for the big three – Maitreya, Reborn, and Legacy. Additional rigs like flat, petite/perky, v-tech, gen x, anatomy, etc, are fine to choose if you want to design for based on your niche.

    • Did you know that if a third party grabs your email and posts under your email you can delete ANY comments made under your email? All they need is to know what your email is.

      *ANYONE* can get a hold of your email, comment with it, and then you can delete them by clicking the “delete all comments under email” button at the top.
      All you have to do is then sign in to your email and approve the comments to be deleted.
      Any third party can make a comment under your email because there is no sign on or login process.

        Kiska absolutely deleted the comments herself, but it does not mean that she made the comments herself.
        You can only delete comments if you have access to log in to the email, because you have to click a confirmation link that’s emailed to you first.

        All that really proves is that someone close to Kiska/Sylas did this to her, or someone with that information

    • You’re ignorant is what you are. The reason designers are switching to time-limited demos is due to the number of people getting demos and then derendering the demo rings so they can take photos in the outfit without actually paying for it.

      • Just curious; have you ever tried to do that? Like where did you even hear that was a thing? Because the only way that would be possible is if the demo were modifiable, and in that case you could simply unlink the demo rings or logo and remove them entirely rather than derendering them. It’s not possible to derender single links of a no-mod linkset, and demos are never mod- so if anyone ever did that thing you’re saying, they already copybotted that demo before they did it and time limit scripts don’t prevent that. Timed demos actually make it easier to take a photo in something you didn’t buy without really stealing anything, because they are usually fully functional items with fatpack HUDs for those few minutes- set up the photo, put the outfit on at the last minute, and snap.

        The real reason creators use a timed demo is to spare themselves the effort of creating a one with the protective rings or giant logo attached, or demo textures with “demo” or whatever written all over them. Best case scenario, they do it because they want customers to fully see what they have to offer without anything in the way, but I suspect it’s mostly to save time. I personally don’t mind timed demos that much as long as they are at least 5 minutes, but I’ve seen a few that were only 1 or 2 minutes and those are just stupid.

        At any rate, you should really make sure you know what you’re talking about before you correct someone- you don’t seem to understand how things work at all, and that makes you the most ignorant person in this thread.

      • You can’t ‘derender’ a demo ring if it is done properly. I’ve also never heard of that, I think maybe you’re getting some things mixed up.

        Waaaay back in the day some creators did release demos with unrigged demo rings that could be moved or turned transparent, some people just shifted them way into the sky as a quick fix lol.

        The whole timed demo thing is super dumb because one of the intentions of a demo is to protect the item from copybotting… timed demos tend to have all the textures etc intact which is a dream for copybotting, takes no time at all to rip the entire fatpack without paying a thing.

        Also they annoy legitimate customers who want to try the item with other clothes, check for clipping etc.

        Just a dumb idea all round.

    33) That is the danger of photography. That some people fail to show products properly and then people end up getting misled. It happened to me once where I bought a dress that was meant to be blue but it ended up being a completely different color to the one in the vendor picture.

    36) I don’t ever like buying per sizing due to owning multiple bodies so for me if I did that. It would be an extremely expensive shopping trip that I just simply can’t afford. There’s many stores out there that provides packs including the sizes I need for other stuff so it makes no sense to buy things separately per rigg unless the item is a gacha. Only exception of me ever buying per size would be if it is a gacha at Arcade event so that I can simply resell or giveaway the item after I no longer want or need it anymore.

    39) I’m sorry but you are really stupid to pay that amount for a photoshoot off someone else. Hard lesson to learn there… but it is much better to take your own photographs or at least pay someone who is reliable that you trust to take a picture for you.
