    • SL used to be open for all ages. I think it’s strictly 18+ now, but you used to be allowed with 16 for the longest time, being forced to stay in General Rated Sims.
      Child avatars are not the issue. People using child avatars or anything childlike for sexual satisfaction are the issue.

The flaws and failings are something you’re used to. One day, the person who’s been helping you with keeping that old box going presents you a shiny new machine for free. Updated, streamlined, no jury-rigging or forced CPU cooling required. You can still use the old one for what you’ve got for it, but since it’s running an OS from five years ago, it has limitations. And the new machine can’t run all of your old software, but there’s help for replacements already in the pipeline or out there now. Your old rig has hit the highest level it can ever achieve, so they’re being kind about it. And you’re upset with them. Furthermore, you want that person to SELL YOU the new machine and keep updating the old one. Bonus: they never said they’d stop updating the old PC. It’s just seriously out of date.

    TL;DR: You want to pay for a gift. You want everyone to pay for a gift. And you want to double a lot of people’s workloads for the sake of your feelings. That’s some serious Karen energy right there.

  27. 31: Yeah I thought that way too, for about 30 minutes. Then I got over it and here’s why.

    • First the upgrade was for free. And did you look in that extras hud – you get tattoo layers for all the Velour Bodies also for FREE (and lingerie from a few stores too).
    • Second, you are correct, the old body will never EVER be updated again. But that doesn’t mean they are zapping the old one out of your inventory. It’s still there for you to use with all of your favorite outfits.
    • Finally, those shoulders really look so much better on the new body. But I also found all my old Maitreya shoes still fit (just regular shoes, not boots or thigh highs but I’m good with that).

    • Way too many reactionary forum posts and anger on the SL forums, for what essentially is a NEW body. Not a replacement, not an upgrade, just a new body. But sadly, most people have the reading comprehension of a 2 year old. I have Maitreya on my alts, and the shoulders have ALWAYS been a problem, and now they’re so beautiful. Still have the triangular hips sadly but maybe a few years form now those can be fixed too lol. But I’ll take the lovely shoulders,armpits, bigger bewbs and rounder arse. I’m so glad the hands and feet are the same, then I don’t have to get anything new for those.

    • I’ve been going through my inventory (inventory management? HA!) and have been pleasantly surprised by what fits Maitreya Lara X, and in tears by some of what doesn’t fit.

      The worst part is when a designer says that all their upcoming stuff will fit Maitreya Lara X, but forget to include it in their “mega bigassed fatpack,” and then blame the customer for not wearing the right for body type. That makes it less likely for someone burned to want to continue with that brand. A simple “oops, thanks for letting me know. I’ll fix it and you can get a redelivery in a few hours” would have done wonders.

    • Sweet absolutely thought she was going to turn Species into the next Progeny. She convinced JJ to push everyone out of Species if they did not conform to her will and do things in Species that she could not convince the Arch Conclave to do in PV all while convincing JJ that it was best for his new system. Then once those people were gone, she brought her family into Species to take over as majority of the Elder Council (Arch Conclave). The reason the system never got off the ground is because no one wanted ANOTHER progeny and JJ broke his promises to those that were there from the beginning (even before Sweet was in it) and allowed Sweet to make the changes that no one really wanted in the first place. Sweet wanted that Source-like authority and damn near had it. If she could script, she probably would have tried to push JJ out as well.

      • Well first of all stop lumping Night Wolf into it as it’s been stated several times the only 2 creators of Realm of Darkness are Chemistry and Ninja. As for Rauth, I have no clue why you’re on about him when he has even less to do with this system and is in general just a piece of shit human being. Now look back and ask yourself what has ninja ever actually done to you? In my experience he’s not a trash talker so he what…attacked you in a combat game? He played the game. Chemistry I know is more controversial because he definitely pushed limits with what some would call abuse or bullying but if you paid any attention at all you would see most of the ones, he “bullied” were actually people who bullied him when he was new into the system, and he got age and fought back they banned him. He was mad, he retaliated. Does that make everything he did excusable? No, I’m not saying that, but if he had fair treatment in PV from the beginning it never would have happened, but the facts are if you are not up the ass of an arch or a diabolic then you don’t matter. These two are taking everyone into their game equally and not giving favoritism or special roles to anyone, not even themselves. If you don’t want to join the game then don’t, nobody is forcing your hand or begging you to do anything; but at least make your choice reflect facts and not BS about Night or Rauth who have absofuckinglutely nothing to do with anything.

        I had to ask the diabolics if I could make another account because I am so special I would get banned for having an alt in the game. The diabolics told me I could, so I had to make one and wait 30 days for it to be old enough to be turned, and then 30 days to be able to fight. No one knew this alt except Ninja and a few others. I would sit at Voice Island on this alt for two months, while Chano’s people and others harassed me. You can see the videos of them harassing and bullying me at Voice Island on my Youtube(asmcriminal). Once I was able to bite, I destroyed them all at Voice Island for 2 days straight, and I got banned. Because the poor little diabolics daughters Feli(Parth’s daughter) and Cleo(antonia’s daughter) got bit.

        They try to say I got banned for abusive gameplay, but having a KOS like many people do is not against the rules. I was just better at it…

(Lemme just add if Elders were not in attendance their seconds needed to be and IF big if they showed up you had people never talking or people getting on voice for all to hear them getting head during said meeting.) And lets not forget our favorite Marter Wicked. Who only joined to ruin it. Wicked who let everyone know that JJ was keeping secrets from the rest of the Elders.     Lara has the market share in what the SL community are wearing day to day. But I’d guess Reborn makes more in the current day-to-day sales being the fastest-growing body since (correct me if I’m wrong) Lara.

    • Most creators I have seen said they will just be making clothes for Lara X going forward and dropping the old Lara, which makes sense. I think the body will continue to be popular since it is the only wear and go body on the market which will continue to attract new to SL users.

      • That you can put the body on, use the sliders to adjust shape and thats it. Aka its the easiest body to wear and use. You can basically wear it out of the box. I demoed Reborn, I’ve had friends demo or buy other bodies, I know the amount of work that goes into trying to shape them or make them look remotely proportioned right.

I either used existing 5.3 outfits that I could wear with careful alpha hud use or I found new items already rigged for X (Ison wasted no time in getting X riggings for his Dubai item; Dead Doll immediately updated a couple of her recent event offerings; Addams has updated a crapton of its outfits).

        I have been considering adding Reborn to my inventory, but LaraX now gives me more of the curves I want without going to extremes. I don’t want to have to use deformers just to shrink the badonkadonk and TV tray boobage. I have Legacy, but I refuse to deal with their lame excuse of a HUD. I’ve got Khara and some other bodies, but X works for me.

        It confuses me that people act like they have to give up 5.3 considering there are 18 billion clothing items (hyperbole) for 5.3. Stores that use template designs will be making for 5.3 until SL bites the dust. There will be no lack of clothing for 5.3. If your favorite store(s) decide to only create for X, that’s their right. If I made clothes, I’d want to make for X because it’s much easier to rig for.

      • As a long time user of Lara, and having several friends who also use Lara, I can say we are all excited about the new body and will be switching to that body as more clothes become a thing.     • I think Lara and LaraX will stay about the same, if not dwindle a bit. Their GM is a fucking awful and very rude person that talks down to everyone and has scared a couple of creators away fairly recently. It could also be that people are willing to take the abuse and stay far away from the official groups while they continue to make stuff. However, its usually a good idea to be a part of the official groups for advertising and looking out for people looking out for support.

    • Alex from Sugarcult tried to make a big stinky post about Crow on their Twitter(X) which linked to a Google Doc. In the Google doc, one of the screenshots what of a dropbox URL with ALL of the Cryptid files. .Blend, Textures, etc etc… Among these files were the files for the Reborn and Belleza as well which you have to apply for. Alex in all their wisdom not only decided to not blur out the url in the screenshot but to also keep it working as well so random people could access all the content which again contained the Reborn and Belleza rigs that need to be applied for.
      This also means stuff like the Warren’s grasp will also likely show up being sold by random accounts.

      • The URL is still in the screenshots but the actual file of the Dropbox was deleted some time the next morning. Over 3k people had viewed the tweet before that time and likely even more were linked the Doc without the tweet so those numbers wont have any sort of recording. Maven took it all on himself with the team, and behind the scenes did everything he could to make things fair, while people were being CRAZY. Like the dude even sent out a poll to ask the players if he could role play a role that no one wanted that inspired him, ON HIS SIM OWN SIM ASKING PERMISSION. Meanwhile, all of the other admins across all roleplay places just do as they please. Let that sink in for a moment.

        Also, it was like open for nearly two years until the series killed the vibe and new fantasy sims opened.

        Maven, if you read these, you were solid, tried to be fair and hella funny. Do a different sim that isn’t GOT. PLEASE.
