    I was a person who would thrive on watching drama unfold when I was a teenager. However, I grew up and realised how toxic it was and now I live my SL drama free and you know what I haven’t looked back since.

    So stop with the mind-numbing drama between RP communities, because at the end of the day, there is no point whatsoever and it will be irrelevant in a few months.

    Move on with your lives and start enjoying SL again before you make yourselves, miserable and blame everyone else for your problems. ❤️

  8. 13. Second life by now is filled with creators and much much more products to buy. Because of that looot of people who log in choose to spend their money buying these products. Its not linden labs fault that you dont sell your products, its your product itself. just because you are a creator that doesnt necessarily mean you are a good one. Yea if you participate in weekend sales you might get a chance to make profit and attract more customers to your store but having storewide sale annually is essential to get some exposure and real income. We get weekend sales all year long and although there are some stores which are generous enough to put good quality products on discount there are hundreds more which put their scrappy scrap on rotation because they dont sell otherwise. You wanna opt out yourself from black friday sale? Its gonna be much more your loss than your gain.

Browsing sales in SL is not different than in RL, you always have to search the for quality in the middle of average or poor quality products, stores usually try to get rid of poor quality or unwanted stuff during a sale period after all there is always someone who buys it!

      • It actually diminishes my view of a creator a lot if I stop by their store for a sale and they’ve done something like… only put colors no one wants on discount, or made some kind of crappy unrigged accessory to offer when their entire store is body rigged mesh and they don’t even sell any items like that normally. To me that just screams “I don’t even want to do this and fuck you sale shoppers”, and I’ll take that message to heart.

And most of those designers all look like they buy from the same Mesh store for their products to boot. Making those clothes for Maitreya is a waste of time since none of us are buying from them.

    • I’ve never seen anyone drop Maitreya. I have seen a small number of new creators – producing original mesh – start up without offering Maitreya though since it’s an extremely difficult dev kit to get and they don’t seem to want to resort to the third party kit that is available (not sure why, it’s pretty much perfect at this point).

      Dropping Maitreya wouldn’t make any sense, it’s a pretty vital body to support and not doing so does tend to push you into the niche of Reborn content.

      • Honestly, I think you are right. Most of the designers not making Maitreya probably weren’t making them from the start. I’ve never found clothes I’ve wanted that weren’t Maitreya; however, none of them were the long time SL designers.

        But I have found shoes and Jewelry that did not include Maitreya and I kinda wanted. I chatted with one of the jewellry designers who was rigging and asked that even if Maitreya wasn’t a rigged just include the unrigged version. That makes everyone happy including men who like to use Jewelry from female jewelry designers.

      • The issue isn’t how difficult it is to get the kit. It’s very easy to come by the kit (because yes, there’s a third party one available). The issue is that the kit is hell on wheels to work with, and the T-pose for dominance thing makes the shoulders on many outfits look fucked up. If you ever wonder why Belle Epoque’s dresses have linebacker shoulders, the reason is she initially rigs off Maitreya and then re-rigs to other bodies. But I know several creators who have dropped Maitreya because it’s just so much easier to rig to Legacy or Ebody once you have the dev kits.

It’ll be a relief to the collective eyes of SL if any significant portion of those outdated Lara messes actually switch to a new body that doesn’t have linebacker shoulders and zero definition of any kind in the mesh. Unfortunately, the limited compatibility of their existing wardrobes with the new body means a lot of them won’t. Most anyone who was willing and able to buy a new wardrobe has already updated by now.

I don’t know what you think is gonna happen when your body slightly improves beyond the jagged low-polygon mesh Ruth you’ve been clinging to, but the people who are into the look of other bodies are still going to be into the same things, and Lara X is not going to have those things. Best case, the same people who were already interested in getting you naked get to be less disappointed when your clothes come off and that ass that was built into your jeans disappears.

        LaraX is very obviously going to prove popular by fixing some of the small issues, Maitreya is still going to be the #1 brand as you well know since the niche stripper clothes content typical of Reborn etc. does not have mass appeal.

        According to a former friend of his with discord evidence, that friend was thrown away from Nyxx because Nyxx felt that friend “complained too much” on a vent channel Nyxx made on their Ravenfall server. When the friend toned down their complaining and kept it spared, Nyxx still felt that there was too much complaining. About life and general things, all the while Nyxx himself kept complaining about the very same subjects moreso than that former friend did.

        Nyxx is a two-faced prick when he wants to be. He secretly gets insecure because he’s not the front of attention and he feels like his problems isn’t on the forefront above someone else’s. Seems like you’ve drank whatever kool-aid he provided you and has kept this side of him away from you.

        His exes aren’t really paranoid as he’d like to make them out to be. It’s “never” his fault as to why they broke down. Going around making a meme circus about your problems is not really a mature and adult way to deal with your problems. The guy is probably scared to stand up and confront the problems about himself and instead of doing so, makes anyone he doesn’t agree with, the scapegoats for why he is the way he is.

      • A lot of the future healing is already being done. The ones who’re done with him, have moved on. They’ve moved on from a guy who lives in California, in his 40s, living in a trailer with parents and works a job they complain about on occasion. I mean, it’s kind of sad and who’d want to really be a part of that?

        Their whole thing is “I’m gothy and quirky with mental issues!” as their persona which leads to their own problems. Some people online really shroud the depressive reality that they live in and cover it up with so many things about themselves that they change per person that they confront. It’s really a symptom of their level of insecurity about themselves that they aren’t upfront about or want to deal with.

        It’s ironic that Nyxx tells others to get help when it’s really he that should be the one seeking help. Google is not a good therapist and complaining about not being able to afford therapy while turning around and being able to spend so much to keep a virtual club afloat in addition to their shopping addiction to take pretty pictures over.

        Someone is really losing ground and priority here.

        I get that feeling a lot of the time. My circle is like my gauge meters and there’s at least a few people where, if I lost them somehow, then I must know that it is entirely a me problem. I’ve had those people also in the past and when I lost them – I feel I did deserve it. And only time then is in your lap for when whether or not you’ll ever get another chance with them.

        I’ll always treasure the people who’ve had the guts to speak for themselves and moreso, speak against me if and when I was the unreasonable one. I fucking loathe bobbleheads and yes men.

        I’ve thought over my entire situation with Nyxx personally and all I feel from it is just both pity and disappointment. I knew my score but unfortunately, he fabricated his to make himself look like the better person from it than where he really was. The regret I feel is more in part of being severed from some people of a certain community than it is of associating with him.

        He, to me, is just a statistic of people I’ve had the misfortune of dealing with some of the worst qualities of that they feel they aren’t holding themselves responsible for.         I predict he’ll find someone in time for the holidays, splurge on them before finding a made up reason to leave them. Something stupid over like not getting a favorite on their Flickr picture, something.

C was expecting to be a friend and metamour to N since Nyx insists he’s Poly then all of a sudden Nyx drop kicked N with excuses about N being too depressed all the time and made them out to be playing up their issues for attention. Apparently N was actually going through some shit and could’ve used the support but as we know Nyx sees anyone else who needs support in his community as competition. So it was likely a combination of that and him notactually being poly that led to the split.

        I don’t know if that partner is the name of the former partner that passed away that he dearly loved. If so, then I assume he’s probably going back to the well of memories to try and grasp something from there.

        Some of those could have been at the end of last year, but the last 4 was def this year.
        Either way, even with just 4; that’s a hell of a track record with little to no pause in between, or let alone healing/grieving.

        But then again.. N doesn’t do that, as he hates being alone/single and refuses to work on the existing problem(s); which is himself. Which is why this vicious circle of BS keeps happening. It’s sad really.

It would be completely out of character for him to post anything here knowing the kind of blowback that could happen. C’s an intensely private person and keeps peoples confidence. Besides he’s got crazy fucked up receipts on that whole community so I imagine he’d post something way worse if he was that kind of person. I would if I were him and I told him as much but he won’t.

      • One thing I’ll not forgive Nyxx for besides him personally dropkicking me for petty reasons. I lost N as a good friend via proxy of Nyxx’s shit. N, understandably, was fearful that he’d wind up on Virtual Secrets if he did anything wrong or crossed paths. But, I’d never think that there’d be a reason N would give for me to do that compared to what Nyxx has done.

        I knew what N was going through, I tried supporting N and I even had a little something for N as well. It really sucked losing that friend over an issue that didn’t really concern him. It wasn’t his fight and I had not tried to sucker him into it, I only showed what I done when I submitted to VS about Nyxx way back when.

        I really had little to nothing to go about on C. It’s just okay, whatever, new partner so let’s things be separated, right? Nooooooope. Nyxx had to go and worsen that wound with N by alienating and invalidating the poor guy.

        Oh of course, Nyxx saw my problems as competition as well. Just couldn’t be off in his world to play pretend of being this sophisticated goth dude who’s quirky and defines himself as a potato. No, no, no, got to be on the spotlight despite me having tried being a little there for them. He did go and archive the original vent channel in the Ravenfall server before making a new one so that really invalidates everyone that has detailed their issues.

        The difference between me and Nyxx is unlike him, I am actually seeing a therapist and have been so. But I have my reasons and online affairs isn’t dominating the sessions I’m having right now. This means, I can actually go around and tell people that I am affected because I got my confirmations and denials based on what was talked about. What’s his excuse?

  37. 14. You CAN actually “copy” Second Life without any restrictions as it is and will always be “open source”. However, you ARE right about that world content having been copy-botted. As an example…Trompe Loeil’s complete store content has been botted and imported there. The major brand’s mesh bodies and heads also, major clothing brands…trees, plants, decoration… everything has been ripped.

    • To be more accurate that is OpenSim, not Second Life. They broke apart a long time ago and has nothing to do with the open source Second Life viewer.

      The servers/simulator remains similar at their core but OpenSim was developed as a completely separate, reverse engineered open source implementation of the proprietary Second Life server and was at least initially capable of actually connecting to the Second Life grid. Many years have passed and they’re now quite different with no chance of compatibility ever again, LL don’t want it anyway.

      And yeah, ripped content from SL is everywhere on every OpenSim grid since it’s very easy to do and people want nice things regardless of the grid they’re using. Not a huge deal since nobody is losing sales to a handful of people getting something for free on a small OpenSim grid but yeah it’s genuine copyright infringement and theft of IP, good luck stopping it though.

It is what I would expect to see on quality RL shoes. The guy isn’t just slapping a color on top of a mesh he bought somewhere. To me, his shoes are the Louboutins of SL. Some of the best out there!

    And his request that the shoes must be the star? Really, that’s your issue that you are calling the designer an asshole. It is his product and he probably got 1000+ people applying for the job (myself included). He has the right to ask that his product (that you are getting for free) be the focus in the photo. Only asshole I see is the one who posted #27, who was probably also someone who was rejected for the blogger position. Hey, I was rejected too but I’ll still buy his shoes!

        Plumpy Bunny and her gang flooded that sim, took high level roles KNOWING 14f would open soon and they would leave the sim. The got all their friends to come join only to abandon the sim. This is not the first time they have done that. Any sim I ever own, I am pre-banning them with Mitsu and Addictivedarkskin. Those two are metagamers but at least they don’t destroy entire sims all because they want to feel important as “staff”.

I’m not sure what Plumpy Bunny could have done to wreck the sim more than Cat did.

        Edit: You know what, I just realized you were talking about Conquest: Liandra and not Right of Conquest. LOL Sorry, I literally was trying to figure out how they “wrecked” RoC. I don’t know what happened in Liandra, but I’ll be honest – I took a look at that sim and everyone was either a king, a queen, a prince, or a princess. Everyone seemed to be royalty, and that just gave me a really strong feeling the sim wasn’t going to last. When everyone is royalty, it’s not special anymore, and there’s not a lot to strive for. It’s a shame it failed, but I mean, I think it was failing long before 14 Flames opened.

      • They are missing out the Part were Sven wanted to turn the nordic side in to Gor and made several people leave because they are sick of the way he administrates. Missing the part were a character was kidnapped and 5 minutes later posted about the Passageway between the two kingdoms was now closed – convenient!

        They are also missing out the part where, plumpy and her gang had left 1 month and half before the new owners took over. Who destoryed multiple stories for multiple character and has a track record across sims of getting into fights with people for their power-gaming.

        Or the part were Liandra wouldnt do anything and any talks with people wanting to push any RP story. She flipped out and would push away any actual admining of rules on the sim.

        It is a shame conquest went but the new owners caused over 15 people to leave.

Each body and head combination only has a limited number of realistic slider combinations, a shape is maybe worth a small amount for the convenience of not having to do this yourself but heads generally come with a selection of example shapes that you can tweak and achieve a very similar result to an often very expensive shape being sold. Either that or just learn how shapes work, they’re quite simple things.

    Also making a shape no-mod just means I’m going to open notepad, note down the values for each slider and re-create it so I can mod it. Don’t do that, especially don’t do that if you’re brazen enough to be charging $1000 for something that is worth $100 at the very most.

    • tbh you don’t have to and wouldn’t be able to look at the values if its not mod – just save your avatar to XML and upload it into a new shape, easy peasy.

      • Oh is that how it works? I’m sure I had a no-mod shape when I was noob and this was how i solved that problem, maybe I used the export feature though.

        So yeah, export to XML Shapes shouldn’t be no-mod, nothing should be but shapes especially shouldn’t.

    • I don’t get shape stores. Shapes are something anyone can do themselves. If you have a Mesh Head and Mesh Body, just combined the numbers from the Mesh Body Body/Torso/Legs of the Mesh Body into the Shape of your Mesh Head. That’s the starter shape.

      Now comes the fun – start tweaking the sliders to make that shape your own. I’ve even bought skin and maybe I liked the eyes on the shape with the skin. So I’ll copy those numbers into my own person shape.

      Great shapes are not bought – they evolve over time!

      • What you’re calling for here is making an effort, though, and a lot of people seem to be fine with having NPC-style clone avis to avoid that. The real value in buying a shape is the style card- and of course, the shape being mod. Dude that got posted deserves it, because who sells no mod shapes? The sellers with more reasonable prices, mod shapes, and comprehensive style cards are definitely filling a need, though.
