  8. 5. The Cara hate is out of pocket. If you don’t like New Haven, go somewhere else… like that place with the sick manager that thinks child abuse is a good roleplay. Just go and find a place that you might like. New Haven is beautiful and I’ve made wonderful friends. Cara is always working on the sims and never forces herself into roleplays and events. You can’t convince me that it’s not Thomas or an owner of another community making these attacks. I will say that Cara should watch her back with Astrid. They want Timber Falls to be as full and active as New Haven. Astrid may smile in Cara’s face and PRETEND to like Brian but it’s all a way to get in. She also pretended to like other guys to get the dish on other communities. If Astrid really wants Timber Falls to grow, she should focus on roleplaying there instead of using Brian to stalk New Haven. It’s not New Haven that’s keeping other communities down, it’s the reputations that these other communities have. Timber Falls is linked to Fox Hollow and that’s been the biggest turn off about it. Stalking around New Haven and submitting crap to secrets won’t change it. Instead focus on uplifting your own community. We are tired of reading these false “secrets”

  13. #21, I wish people would realise that the reviews aren’t a popularity pageant, they’re simply a tool used to collectively share item quality. They’re not meant to be falsely nice to a creator, they’re a source of feedback.

    Creators, even ones giving things for practically free, are not owed good reviews. And those who cannot or do not buy lindens deserve decent quality items and to not waste their money like the rest of us.

    Now, if a one star review is left for drama reasons, yes that’s wrong to do. But otherwise, they’re normal.

      • That is not a view I plan to hold. Enough games have non-paying players that I do not care if someone does not buy lindens. And I also never said they’re owed anything, only that they ought to be allowed to review things and know their quality before buying just like anyone in SL gets. Any account, with or without payment info on it has access to view and write marketplace reviews. So inherently they’re able to access these things. It is unreasonable of them to kowtow and ignore the quality of an item just because it was sold for 1 linden.

    • New Haven gets a lot of people who are fed up with other sims, not banned. New Haven has been wonderful. One of the best communities in my opinion, outside of Southford Falls which is another wonderful community.

    Genus’ quad texture set up takes up every single available slot for everything else. So you can’t use your pussy or your dick that ALSO uses those aux slots. ALL THREE of them. So that’s FACE, AUX 1, AUX 2, AUX 3. Those three little texture slots that could be used for your dick/pussy, ears/horns/tail/whateverthehellelse you might want to shove in there. Can’t use it. Because now, it’s taken up by two sections of head mesh that you won’t even be seeing 90% of the time unless you walk around bald.

    The reason why evox skins work well with body skins is that the texture size for the part that you’re seeing the most of, is practically the same size. It takes up as much texture space as the body. The body uses TWO 1024x textures. One for the upper, and one for the lower.
    On the genus upsampled skins that creators were attempting to remaster from EVOX skins, you could see the issues, the bad blending. It’s not good. None of it is good.

    That EVOX uv layout is also used by 10 other head brands than the one that created it (lelutka) You know why? because it’s good. It’s GAME INDUSTRY STANDARD. It also lets all the people out there, have a standard in SL and that’s a good thing too. Because compatibility across brands is important. Being able to use stuff across your things is important. So that’s two things that lelutka gave us. SL neck fit standards that are being adopted by all body brands and head brands. Now they’ve given us really nice UVs for the face, that are being adopted across all brands to replace the godfucking awful SLUV that’s been around since like, 2007.
    Genus? They took up all the available new slots with the universal layers that’s been getting sorted out among creators the last few years and said ‘FUCK ALL YALL’ So, no. That’s not good either.

    As for the last sentence, according to the list in Lelutka’s own discord, Genus does NOT have permission to use EVOX. The CSRs even said they never asked for it. A good friend at legacy said that Genus asked them for the neck files to get up to date, they wouldn’t ask lellutka creators.

    Maybe you need to understand what’s actually being said before you go making a ‘secret’ trying to make some creator look stupid.

    • Putting the seam right down the middle of the face is such an idiotic decision, it makes no sense and the weirdest part is that whoever is making Genus heads has to know this. Seams are a pain to deal with, you certainly don’t choose to put them front and center right down the middle of a head.

      I guess with current software tools it might be less painful for creators than it was in the past but still, silly decision.

    • Not to mention, the texture loading cost of all of those 1024 textures being simply for the skin on a head (two of them for the back of it!) would be far too high for SL. It is a good thing their head mesh is so ugly and their heads look nearly the same. The strain would be terrible.

      Also, the bit about LeLutka heads being Eurocentric? Genus’ Asian-featured heads are called “strange face.” LeLutka heads can be shaped to fit a range of ethnicities without calling any of them “strange”
