    But also i do think not just blueberry, many original mesh stores have same issue.
    They just do same and same mesh with lil changes here and there – maybe an add on belt or a bit longer sleeve, things like that.
    The biggest issue is that even tho is Original Mesh its all stolen ideas from RL so its not really original. So if u dont like blueberry go to a different store and u will find same items marked also as original mesh. At least blueberry has nice textures and i never had issues with any of the fitting, plus i do find the support / group chat very nice and helpful

All “original mesh” means in the context of SL is that the mesh was either made by that creator for sale in their store only, or they had it made by someone else for sale in their store only- as opposed to stores that buy “full perm mesh” and only create the textures, or those who steal mesh assets from other platforms to sell illegally. That’s it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the source of inspiration behind the mesh. If that exact same mesh is not being sold anywhere else in SL- exact same mesh, not just similar- it is considered “original”.

Most people who whine like this have human avatars that are out of proportion (tiny hands, too long hips, short arms, too long legs, tiny head, eyes too close, waist too small or too wide, side profile is terrible because they designed their face shape from the front only, zero body fat so they look anorexic) and I’d like to just once see that proven wrong.

      • I’ve seen some pretty Reborn bodies on people that were not so lizzoesque, but I can never get mine just right. It takes too many deformers and my butt is still too big for my body type, even if the rest of me is perfect. I stick to Legacy. I used Maitreya forever and wanted something different. I’m still wondering why most of these people care so much about what everyone else is using for a body. You’d think that info would only matter to creators.

        However.. looking at the rest of your profile showed me the avatar is pretty but the rest isn’t.       My sim holds events almost every year with a bunch of gifts we have made especially for that event for people to get for free. From scratch things that people dont have yet. And people have the gall to complain about and pull the “This is nice but I wish you guys would put in ___ as a gift.”

  52. Do you know what I find incredibly funny about VS and Second Life? The fact that NONE of you look your real-life age. We are ALL “age players”. The vast majority of users make their avatars look younger, older, bluer, whatever. This is not the real world. No children are harmed. Of course, it’s considered “gross” thinking of kids in that context. But that’s the thing. These aren’t kids. They are adults behind the avatars. The pearl-clutching and indignation about the mass of “pedos” in SL is getting old. We know. Stop beating a dead horse!

    • People don’t have to necessarily look like their real selves, or want others to look like their real selves to know that wanting to look like a child or be with someone who looks like a child is wrong. There is no room for moral ambiguity on that. You can easily look younger, prettier, more handsome, more or even less whatever you want, without making your avatar look, and worse still, act like a child. It becomes more problematic when people have those avatars they have chosen to make look like children, in adult situations-which is where you’ll find most of them. It doesn’t matter that they aren’t really children, what matters is the mindset behind the desire, and that mindset is fucked up. It’s not beating a dead horse to point out the truth.

Kaden himself was questioning whether i was allowed to be standing there as i looked around and some random people Jiyun and some other person i can’t remember was messaging me like I was a creep. Felt like I was doing something wrong for looking around. the few events I did go to and I was ignored. i did not feel comfortable or welcomed there feels like if your not in their circle you are not welcome

I handle everything administrative for the sim, so it doesn’t make any sense to me why anyone would approach you but me if there was any issue. “Jiyun” is/was the rp manager for the sim (she is still staff, just changing our rp department). There would also be no reason for her to approach you. If there was really an issue, why wouldn’t you just talk to us about it? I am always open to communication and never above an apology when warranted.

        Legacy has a lot of updates and support. TMP was the company that it came from, yes, but the new company has been around for a while and there have been no signs that it is going to go the same way as TMP did. The devs and CSRs are active in the client support chat. They have Legacy body shopping events, as well, which indicates they are active and supporting the brand. Yeah, you might not like the original company, but they seem to have turned it around.

        The GenX might be a redone Venus, but it’s a great body and meshed solidly. eBody is also a well-meshed body. Both have a lot of CSR and dev support as well as shopping events which show that the devs have an interest in growing their brands.

        You can wear Maitreya, that is fine. I’m not going to say that your choice is bad or invalid. However, there are newer bodies out there that do what Maitreya does in a more modern and up-to-date way. Maitreya is an older mesh and looks, moves, and behaves like one. If you like it, that’s great, but no need to drag the newer bodies if you just don’t like them and want to stick with what you know.

Just why don’t you just say you’re too lazy to move to a new body, too broke to purchase new clothing for a new body, or too old to learn a new body’s system and move along.

        Maitreya USED TO BE the only decent option out there for women. Slink was a joke with their feet and hands as separate attachments, the old ebody systems weren’t optimized, and the classic legacy was, well, dead in the water. Gen-X, in my opinion, is the newer and updated version of Freya, not Venus. Peach was a decent contender if you wanted a curvier shape, legacy is amazing for being able to get an athletic or petite body of slimmer proportions, Ebody can also be made to be petite and slim.

That’s how it’s still around. Because there’s a ridiculous amount of clothes for it because it’s the oldest stick out there.

Maitreya was not the first, just the most widely adopted because it came across after drama and complicated to use huds. their body was clean, their hud was easy to use, but make no mistake it is essentially, in comparison to the high quality bodies of sl currently, Maitreya is essentially smoothed out ruth. wear what you want i’m not going to tell you how to spend your pixel coins but just wanted to clear up that Maitreya definitely wasn’t first. it was just the best at the time it came out. there are far better now.

It stands to reason that people who buy newer bodies are going to have more disposable income to spend, and people who have only bought one body in the last 10 years have less.

How many Maitreya users those bots see that are wearing the most up-to-date version of the body- those are the only ones doing any shopping. The rest are people’s cheap alts and things like that, and very little money is ever spent by or for them so the fact that they are an account using Maitreya means literally nothing to a creator who wants to find customers.

    • Skyboxes were the best option for privacy a long time ago because we couldn’t turn off avatars seeing across parcel lines, and if nobody knew you had a skybox, you were safe from prying eyes. But we got that option with the original Linden homes a decade ago. The whole thing with the ban lines makes zero sense though. That change came with the new Linden homes. But why the whole mainland was changed when banlines aren’t even allowed in Bellessaria…LL logic I guess??
