  7. 30 really? really? really? ARE you trying to defend fucking a child? Try reading the laws more thoroughly. It maybe 15 but ONLY if a judge deems it after a hearing. The 15 yr old must be found to be responsible and mature enough to understand his/her actions, the other party can ONLY be at Max up to 18/3yrs difference and again must go before a Judge that decides his/her intentions and mentality. It can still be considered statutory rape and can BE filed as such by the parents without the CHILDs consent. This applies to pretty much all states that list consent under 18.

      • I wouldn’t really call it stalking, but most of those you posted are so processed, they look like they started out as horrible pics that got even worse edits. The fact that you made a list so long, is a bit weird, but I can understand an appreciation for good pics. Of course they want them looked at, and some have a lot of views thanks to the groups they are in. I enjoy some good sl pics too, but I prefer to opt for the ones that are far less processed. There are a few good ones in that list there, good enough I’ll gladly check out their other work. Some of them just prove how bad some people are at putting an avatar together, like the one the OP uploaded, but that’s just personal preference. Everyone has their preferences, after all. The OP probably just meant that person is their crush, though.

    • No, I think they’re upset that you can’t use your store credit for their weekend sales. I actually understand their anger. Addams releases an “Limited Edition” of a previous release. You buy the fatpack, and you’re pretty much spending almost the same amount as if you would have bought the original during the “new release” sale price… Which, btw, you *can* use your store credit on.

      I have a *lot* of credit stacked with Addams because I can’t spend it on anything except new releases or on stuff around the store that I already own. So, Addams isn’t releasing much, Addams isn’t letting you spend it on palette swaps… So what do I spend it on? Nothing. It just sits there, collecting dust.

      I would say “it’s not fair” but life isn’t fair and Addams knows that their customers will continue to come back, myself included, to spend the dollars. Sucks, but it is what it is.

At that point it’s the parents who can be responsible for the minor. 16 is parental permission even in the district or out. No matter the age. After 16-17 the kid is an adult and the state has permission to grant said individual responsibility to have their own right of property and other things. So you must graduate from the same school in order to even be with said 15 year old.

      “Under our Community Standards policy, real-life images, avatar portrayals, and other depictions of sexual or lewd acts involving or appearing to involve children or minors are not allowed” Minors being anyone under 18 and are restricted to General areas only meaning…no sexual activity. Period.

He told me that I needed to keep “us” a secret so that it would not cause problems because he said he had people that were always trying to cause trouble for him but actually he was hiding me from the one he was with, who wasn’t Zara.This happened recently, 2 weeks ago. He told me that he was unhappy with who he was with and didn’t want to be with anyone but me, and told me that he loved me. I believed him. He suggested we might be partnered soon. He did take me to his “private” beach but never mentioned his sim. This man is horrible! I am no longer comfortable going to Kickin Boots because of him. Kickin boots owner needs to protect their club members!

      • What folks don’t understand is what an extremely slick operator he is. I was not a secret but there was a time when the dates ended and the ghosting and excuses began. I’m not a rebound but I was a hanger onto his string way longer than I should have been against the advice of friends that begged me to let go. He is an emotional abuser and it is very difficult to end a cycle of abuse. Women in the real world get blamed for not leaving the abuser and it seems it is no different in Second Life. It’s a sad fact in any life. I am happy to be out of the cycle, it is an immense feeling of relief. Please be kind to those who have suffered abuse and blow the whistle.

    • Yet another one to add to the list that was used by him. Reading this I am embarrassed to admit I fell for his lies. I was also taken to the beach, his skills should be kept to DJing. Thankfully I never thought I was going to partner him but I was completely fooled by him thinking that he really liked me. All of this was recent within the past 3 weeks. My reason for this post is that hopefully Zara reads this and gets wise to him since he was with so many possibly even while he was saying he was committed to her.     • I actually sent Whiskey this site when I read it last night because it made me realize he had been lying to me too ever since we met in August 2021.  He was so romantic and such a smooth talker that I fell under his spell.  He was “there with me” until he wasn’t – and started ghosting me  – and then I found out he was back with his “other ex” Reece.  He would continue to im me every so often and tell me that pushing me away was his biggest mistake he made in sl.  
      He started dating DJ Nikki then but would still keep iming me wanting to meet.  He even told me that he broke up with Nikki to be with me, but I was with someone else so he went on to Zara.  While he was with Zara he would keep iming me – wanting to meet and kept saying that he couldn’t wait until I was free because he wanted to marry me.  When I was free – and he had broken up with Zara – he pushed me away again.  I guess he only wants the “thrill” of a secret relationship and when it gets real – he will back away and make things so bad that you finally leave him.  Even now – when he went back to Reece, he was still iming me – wanting to meet me “soon”.  
      I am writing this because he needs to know he can’t keep doing this to women.  He also just told me that he is leaving sl (yeah- he said that before too and didn’t leave) and he couldn’t believe that I would believe what anonymous butt-hurt women would say in a blog.  So I am not writing this anonymously – I’m Kathie.  What is really sad is that both his hosts who he has known for years – Blushy and Moi – let him get away with this. smh

  39. #32 i have the same thing with candydoll, i went to buy a shirt at a event and the wrong colour was in the pack, contacted the creator about it , and i got blanked, contacted the creator again and to this day 0 response back from CandyDoll. Then they wonder why people stop buying from them

    • I’ve had that problem with Bumblebee. They made the mistake of putting the wrong color, first time I NC’d them, they responded, awesome, gave me a fatpack. A few weeks alter they updated the item to Reborn, so I went to go get a redelivery, nothing in the redelivery queue (the item I bought was STILL the wrong color from redelivery), NC’d again, twice, no response, ever. Fuck em.

      Blueberry sort of has the same problem, a lot of their clothing is inconsistent, Frank jeans had a bit of mesh in between the legs that stuck together, they said they knew, ok thanks. NO notice that it had been updated until 3 months later when I wanted to wear the jeans again I thought to get a redelivery and it had been fixed. Why no notice? Several times now that that’s happened (esp with Reborn updates). And now again with their S&H dress (reborn has complexity of 90k+), so I asked if it was gonna be fixed. Again was told they knew about it…no notice. Don’t know if it’s been fixed already, but how long does it take to re-weight an item you’ve already made? I mean, the Maitreya only had 5k complexity? Meh, good thing it was free.

      So lazy.

      • I had the exact same experience with Bumblebee(updated item not in redelivery, multiple notecards ignored over the course of MONTHS), and their meshes are shit like crumpled paper, so I just quit bothering to go there. I never actually spent any money; when they first opened they were in every Shop n Hop with 500L store credit and I just kept gathering it because none of the clothes they had in their booths were interesting. By the time I found their actual store, I had like 3k in store credit racked up. Glad I never wasted any real money on that shit.

  41. #37 and #43 The holiday time is incredibly stressful and time consuming. This time of year it is not uncommon for a creator to buy a template, texture it and resell it to save time. Not everyone has unlimited time to create. Time has to be balanced out between personal, professional and time spent for SL projects. Compromises must be made. So, if you don’t like that two designers bought the same template just don’t buy it. Not everyone has as much free time as you. Other peoples lives have different demands placed on them. Be kind during the holidays,

    • Not everyone has time to create from scratch no but it’s also considered poor taste to pull it off as a 100% originally made item.

    • If they didn’t have time, they shouldn’t have entered into an event that requires new items. They could have dropped out and allowed a creator who would have actually put an iota of effort into an item be in the event instead, but nope….Forge decided to take up the space and just put out the same thing the third year in a row

      • You don’t understand the event world. You don’t just “drop out” and let someone else take your spot. When you do that you really lose your spot and then you will be reallocated to the back somewhere and if you are a marginal designer you can say goodbye to the big profitable event you are in. This is especially hurtful when you have been renting a sponsored booth for years and when people dont see you there they will just move on. However, these decisions are up the the creator. The event owner really doesn’t care as long as that brand is bringing people into the event. The more people that come to an event the more money they can charge for rental booths. This is not something the internet vigilante police decides. You are not qualified to make those decisions with the exception of choosing to buy or not to buy.

      • you said so yourself. the holidays are busy and it’s an immense amount of stress to come up with something new. if you know you’re not going to be able to meet the base level requirements, don’t enter. if something comes up, that’s fine but this is year 3 of the same outfit. there’s no excuse at this point.

        yeah it sucks to sit out an event, but what worse? giving yourself time to recoup, refocus and coming back with a better product for your customers or just rehashing the same shit over again, getting your brand possibly blacklisted from future events because of this behavior, and showing that you do not give a damn about who you’re selling to?

If you join an event and have to drop out because you can’t meet them, that’s just another part of business. Plenty of businesses in sl do just fine without being in every single, or even in some cases any at all, events. Your brand isn’t going to die because you couldn’t be in one event. If your brand is in that much trouble, it wasn’t succeeding in the first place. Shit happens sometimes.

Anyone who got it as a Maitreya gacha should have to buy it again as a non-gacha for other bodies, because gachas don’t get updates. The only legitimate complaint anyone could have, other than “eVeNt RuLeS”(I bet you people complaining about that were the ones the teacher asked to take names when they left the room), is if people who bought it as a regular item in 2021 can’t redeliver for the 2022 update, and not a single person has said that’s the case.

The event coordinators are either too lazy to do their jobs, or care more about creators who draw customers than they do their “rules”. I don’t know which one; the butthurt people should ask them.

        Attacking the creator for updating an item that is only useful at the holidays every holiday for new bodies is stupid, period. I’m not changing my opinion because I’ve seen no reason to; move the goalposts to get around the facts as many times as you want, I stand by my statements. Most likely, if The Forge had not made anything at all, their booth would have ended up empty until they put something up late rather than being offered to any of these jealous whiners. Those things are determined well in advance.

        mate it is literally the same item from 2021 till now? they didn’t even change the vendor picture lol. reborn came out september 2021. they had time even last year to put it out with an update as the kit was really easy to apply and get (still is now!)

        they could have released this as an update in their store during the year and not at an event. a lot of creators who have added updated sizes have done this and if it was gacha, they’d just not update it and sell it as a fatpack as is. if they wanted to resell it, the time to re-release as a regular product was last year after the ban took place. it could have been updated during any one of these 353 days in 2022 but they wouldn’t be able to do the cheap holiday cash grab outside of the holidays.

        there’s no need to defend or white-knight here. they sat on their ass for over a year, saw the holidays come up, and then pushed this out hoping no one would notice. you can’t be mad at others pointing it out. and the event owners don’t care because they want their fees and don’t bother to check anything. it is what it is. it’s embarrassing but a lot of people do not have a lick of shame or think rules apply to them when money is on the line.

        if they were too busy to make something new, sit back and give another creator a chance. there’s always next month and the months after that.

      • The original release was a gacha. No creators have ever offered redeliveries for gachas. And if you purchased gachas for Maitreya at the low price of gacha items, what makes you think you’re entitled to updates for more bodies free or at a discount? That only applies to purchases that had all available bodies at the time. Each body was sold separately in gachas by nearly all creators.

    15.There is no reason to box a demo for the marketplace. There is however in world for the vendors. Vendor system require all items in them to be boxed up. They will not work if you just drop it all in there loose and unpacked if there is more than one item for the folder. If a creator is choosing to have their demo in the same vendor as the full product then it has to be boxed up. I mean it does look less messy and cluttered that way instead of having demo signs scattered around. Its not hard to click to unpack it. takes only a couple seconds.

There are people who will probably use it for roleplay or to take a photo, and they’ve had problems with self harm but that’s how they cope and heal from their past self. Just because it’s something that you don’t agree with, doesn’t mean there should be a big uproar to cancel this product or creator because it goes in a zone that makes you uncomfortable. A lot of people forget that creators and designers are artists too. Of course they’re going to create something that perhaps was a part in their life in one way or another. If you disagree with it block it, ignore it, and move on. It clearly wasn’t made for you if you have no intention in buying or interacting with it in any way shape or form. Don’t censor what should and shouldn’t be on SL because of your feelings. This is a platform to share the good, bad, and ugly.

I know self abuse is very triggering for people who’ve done it, in the same way as glorifying domestic abuse makes those who’ve suffered it really uncomfortable if not worse. In some ways, though, we can’t blame the object and eradicate it from all visibility. People have been victims of gun violence but I don’t see a massive campaign for all guns to be removed from SL. That being said, the outcry here isn’t about the razor, it’s about the depiction of it used for self harm, and that’s what’s wrong with it. In the same way that showing a toddler isn’t harmful, and nobody’s saying there should be no depictions of children, but showing that toddler being sexualized or molested is extremely sick and wrong. And let’s not call it art. This is a product FOR SALE, not an artistic expression that only applies to the artist’s life. There is a subtle but definite distinction.

        I have had troubles with self injury in the past, and although I’m aware that some people cannot recover from it by revisiting that time in their life, please understand that there are people who revisit that time in their life where they’ve committed self harm and unpacked the situation and were able to come to terms with this. I being one of them. I have created art in both college for a grade, and on secondlife (some scars) because I feel like I’ve got the right to do so, because there are other people out there like me, and even if they’ve never had a problem with self harm – let them use the item. Sometimes it’s not even that deep.
