  3. #40 Yes using mesh downloaded from website is possible. A lot of websites like Turbosquid allows mesh creators to sell their work and depending on their personal policies for their work sometimes you are able to use them to make money off of such as in Second Life. There is also creators who create under a creative commons license that allows you to use for free, some are “use for free but not profit” there is so many different types of licensing type which are displayed usually on the mesh item download page. I would say more than 50% of Second Lifes Marketplace is mesh downloaded off 3rd party websites or ripped from games. I’m not sure why people on Second Life get so crazed about this stuff, its pretty normal for some people to purchase mesh and use it on Second Life. You can even commission people on Fiverr to create mesh for you.

    • I think Turbosquid specifically prohibits the use of its models in Second Life.
      Its ToS states, “This use is prohibited if the virtual world-type is an open MMO, like Second Life. However, the use is allowed if the MMO is a closed MMO, like World of Warcraft. More specifically, the 3D Model may not be exported or sold.”

    • It’s not that anyone is surprised by purchasing outside meshes—it’s that people are surprised by purchasing outside meshes, and then selling them again without not altering them in any way (retexturing, etc.) or incorporating them into a larger project.

  4. 58 – I watched this go down on Femme Daddy’s twitter. A ton of people came out of the wood work to share their experiences with Naria, while some came to shame Femme for standing up to someone who should be considered a bully. Naria uses her YT to shame people who are not conventionally attractive which is NOT blogging/vlogging. The fact that people take her seriously is disgusting and I am thankful that there are designers who could give a shit less what someone with a high number of followers thinks of their store. I wish more people would call out injustice the way Femme did.

    Luci and I were friends. When I was building the Mall and she was started a store and I offered her a store front. I gave her free rent while I was building the mall and I treated all my friend very well. Well, the mall was opening, and she didn’t pay rent… This went on for a month and promised she would. I had someone interested in her spot, but I was nice and was giving her a chance. another month went by, and I had to kick her out of that store front. Took her 2 weeks to remove her stuff. Since then, she treated me like crap, but I had a business to run, and I needed the store revenue to support the mall.

    I don’t like to mix business and pleasure, So my Cadie account was for business and my Bella account was for social. This wasn’t a secret. anyone that was friends with Bella was friends with Cadie. When I closed the mall I decided to Go back to my Cadie account and ended up going Premium and decided to change my name. My friend who has used my Bella account before wanted to see if she would like to come back to SL but she didn’t want to take the time to start over. So I let her use bella,

    So I commented: To drink and get drunk.

    It was just a comment. Then she blew up… why? Because this struck a nerve with her. those that have hung out that aren’t into drinking or getting drunk got tired of her drunkenness.
    Do I regret this comment…. Yes I do because this caused a lot of unwanted attention. My comment wasn’t really rude or incentive, If I was one of her friends that said that she would have laughed it off and agree. But because she didn’t like me, she saw it as an opportunity to make it a big deal.
    Someone commented below mine and agreed with me because they thought that I was Luci’s friend and said “Ohhhhh yes she does!!” Luci deleted it. then Luci started showing up on VS by people that witness this interaction and she thought it was me. I may have posted one but the rest were by others. Luci was loving all the attention that she even posted ones about herself and made it look like it was posted by me (I have screenshots of conversations between her and a so call friend of hers where she admits this and shares the images)

    Luci sources are from people that I blocked or deleted, and they are pissed at me because I no longer wanted to be friends with them, and they knew Luci would blast me on her page so I can be discredited.

    It is sad that I had to close my stores, cancel all my builds and delete a account because of Luci and you all don’t see this. I am trying to get away from her. I am trying to start over.

    I never threated Luci, I never contacted her or her friends, I never interfered in any of her relationships.

    What is sick is when Luci sent her boytoy Ambose try to date me. He contacted me and it sounded fishy because his first message was “are you the famous cadie that everyone is talking about” This is sick! After that I Deleted my account to try and get away from the name “cadie” and Luci.

    I choose to just change my name instead of starting a new account because I have been in SL since 2008 and I have tons of money invested plus a lot of memories of my past stores and items.

    If you chose to continue to listen to Luci then you are the problem because she is the toxic one and I am just trying to move on.

    I started over and happy, I have no drama and I love my SL, RL and everything in between –
    So why did luci feel like she had to contact my partner who I known for 2 years.
    So why did Luci feel like she needed to make my life changes public?

    Have I ever done anything like this to Luci?

    I have tried to reach Luci to asked her to stop but she blocks me without having a conversation to solve this. I have reached out to Sienna and we had a conversation and I hope things can be solved.

    I am inviting Luci to have a conversation with me, if she chooses not to accept then she doesn’t want to resolve anything but be the attention seeker. Then she is using me to get you all to comment and spread lies about someone you don’t know.

    Oh boy, where do I begin. I had the displeasure of meeting Luci on FB via random add and then it ventured on to SL. I’ve only hung out with her twice and both times, I was just really disgusted by how she carried herself. She was overly friendly to men despite being partnered to Cason then and her excuse is because she’s drunk – and she’s drunk all the fucking time. I have never regretted meeting someone as much as I had regretted meeting her. After those twos times of hanging out with her, I decided to avoid her in SL and only spoke to her once in a while on FB by commenting on stuff or messenger.

    I had some disagreement with her and someone (it wasn’t Sienna) about my posts. I absolutely hate it when someone random adds me and then immediately spam me with group invites on FB because I feel like the only reason you add me is to rake up people to join your fucking group. So, I made a post and rant about it. Being Luci (she thinks she’s better than everyone else) made a comment about me being whiny about it and bitching about it. Well, excuse moi. It’s MY fucking Facebook post, I can and will bloody post whatever the fuck I want. If you can do it, so can I. Instead of confronting on all the shit she posted, I unfollowed her posts on FB because that’s what mature people do. You don’t like something I post? Hide my posts/unfollow or remove me as a friend. It’s as simple as that. But no, she had to poke her fucking nose into my business where it didn’t belong. I told her I am allowed an opinion and thanks for her opinion but it’s not needed right now. I don’t need advise, I was merely ranting my woes. But of course being who she is, she felt like she needed to be the ‘counselor’ (I’d kill myself if she was my counselor).

    Now, the drama with Arcadia and whoever else, escalated when she and Sienna couldn’t accept Arcadia’s opinion on her post. Which is ironic because she’s one who pokes her nose into people’s business but when it comes to her, she can’t take the heat and had her dog (Sienna) bark at Arcadia and made a big hoohaa about the situation (pathetic, I must say). And now, after months of silence, this happened? I mean, really Luci? Are you that desperate for attention? Yes, I’m friends on FB with Arcadia/Imogen and she blocked me because of it. How childish! Blocking someone because they are friends with someone you’re having high school drama with. Grow the fuck up, Luci. I’m surprised you even have kids because with the time you spend on FB, SL and this stupid drama, I’m worried about their safety. You seriously need professional help and I mean it. Get the fuck off the computer and do things with your kids rather than let this drama consume your life. Log off mentally and emotionally.

    Oh, before I forget. You have snakes in your friends list. Not everyone there likes you and they do share information with the people to hates you and Arcadia as well. You’re too trusting which is why this happens. If you think Sienna is your ‘friend’, you may need to re-evaluate that ‘friendship’. A little birdie also shared to a number of people about your latest post on SL about this weeks VS and honestly, you’re so dumb its no longer funny. Who the fuck cares if Arcadia changes her name? Who the fuck cares if she has alts and FYI, you do too. As of now, Arcadia/Imogen is living rent free in your head and its awesome.

They openly admit that they were friends for two years. Plus I know Amari and he has tons of Alts and why brake them up? They sounded perfect for each other.

    • That place has never been welcoming to everyone, but the same can be said for a lot of places, though. Anywhere humans gather, there will be cliques, it’s how humans work. That said, as far as clubs are concerned, BD is definitely not a very good one, and the music sucks after a bit. The whole pretending to be a pg club thing is such a farce too, they are as bad as muddy’s in encouraging the whole meat market thing anywhere but local. I doubt most people know that at least half the visitors there are alts of the people that work there and own it. They do get better traffic, now, though not as consistent as people think. But in order to get it there, they have to put extra avs in there 24/7.

      At one point it was a rule for employees that they have an alt they can park there now and then to help, I would hope that’s no longer a rule, but who knows. It’s easy to tell they’re there if you go right before and after a sim restart, and pay attention to who is there. Sometimes they’re smart and log in different alts, to make it a little less obvious, but they still use them. I know of at least 4 employees that park 2 alts each during the day when they’re not even home, sometimes swapping for different ones. There is really no need for that after all these years unless their traffic is not as good as they want people to think. Some of the people there are nice, but they’re much better people outside of the club. I’ve worked there myself, and no, I’m not bitter, like I said, some of them are nice people. I just think it’s weird people think it’s such a popular place, when it’s really not.

    Wait so your mad cause you think friends who don’t wanna deal with your abuse means they are aligning themselves with your abuser? How in what world does that work? To be honest with you! You my dear aren’t realizing that you being with you abuser also is abusing your friends mentally. These friends more than likely told you to leave the abuser and or wanted to help you get away. No one wants to watch there loved one or friend be hurt or possibly murdered. Also your friends getting involved puts them at risk. Your friend is not a therapist or the law! Isolation only works because you allow your abuser to control you with out taking legal actions! Here are some things I can tell you.

    1. The only abuser you are dealing with is your abuser do not align or compare others to this person cause that’s where your friends walk away and they have every right to.
    2. Abuse is a dangerous thing for you and anyone you love it puts them directly in danger.
    3. You abusing your friends or demanding your friends to deal with the abuse is abuse itself.
    4. Abuse can turn into murder for you or the people involved!
    5. Think about your loved ones safety and your own.
    6. Never meet a person who regret’s leaving their abusers!!! I know plenty who do regret not leaving and know plenty who are no longer with us cause they did not leave them.

    How about stop excusing your abusers actions, Stop claiming they love you! Leave the abuser the person putting you and your loved ones in danger. By your statement you know they are tiring to isolate you! Here is some fruit for thought how can they isolate you when they behind bars or your free of Them? Contact someone who can actually do something like Law enforcement, abuse hotline, abuse shelters or an abuse therapist Or go some place public and tell someone what’s going on and wait for law enforcement to show up!. Because the reality is people from the internet can not do anything about it unless they have info to do so and once again that’s putting them at risk.

    Not everyone has the tools to deal with people being abused and its not logical thinking to have your friends be aligned with this abuser cause they don’t want to see you get hurt. No one deserves to be abused not even your friends.

Now those same friends step away if you choose to actually leave or finally reach that point will generally step right up to help you again.         I’ve seen actual plus size shapes from users of all of them that weren’t “fetishy” and were just fat women. There are lesser known bodies that are belly rolls and saggy fat but they have no clothing support. It adds thickness and a less firm shape to all parts of the body, not just the thighs and butt but the breasts, upper torso, shoulders, arms, stomach, and neck too. Combine that with the body thickness slider, breast gravity slider, and others and you can make an actual realistic plus size shape that isn’t these weird anime hentai pear things you keep going on about on every last one of those bodies above.

      As an abused person hurting the people around me was my biggest regret, although I didn’t realise what I was doing at the time, I thought I was correct in pushing people away and lashing out and saying mean cruel things about people who didn’t agree with me because my abuser had isolated me so much and only shown me abuse that I didn’t know what to do. My friends loved me and I fucked it up and I’ll always be so sorry for that.

      In my own experience as someone who fought for years to get out of an abusive relationship everything I said and thought about most people including my friends and family was not my own thoughts, but my abuser. I denied I was being abused multiple times but my abuser would flip out and I would get scared if I didn’t block this person or if I hung out with this person. So I had to create reasons and pick apart and find reasons to hate the people that loved me because they knew what my abuser was up to and he didn’t like that, and I couldn’t see that.

      I think to some extent it’s good to eventually reconnect when they’re in a better place. Victims always get abandoned and it’s hard to stay but the abuser evidently does win when the victim is left with no friends.

      Delusion is huge in this, the victim is mistreated, gets broken up with or tries to leave and the honey moon period starts again as the abuser is suddenly nice and loving. “We just have bad days” but it makes us stronger. Delusion to the victim thinking everyone is against them or trying to ruin their relationship or not being a good friend to them.

        Excusing the abuser’s actions is the biggest issue with this situation. Let me make something clear it’s not okay for anyone to be abused not you and not your friends for not wanting to see you be treated a certain way. People who have not been abused are not given the tools to handle the situation. They are not therapist’s or the law to intervene. All that happens is they become at risk with you being involved.

        Isolation only works if you allow the Isolation to take place. People notice they are being isolated before they are. The more isolated you become the more in danger you and anyone involved is. Making excuses for your abuser is the catalyst in this. Good rule of thumb is if more than one person is saying someone is abusive listen to it.

        Question to ask.
        How are you being a good friend to your friend by demanding them to deal with your abuse and to put themselves in danger because you are putting yourself in danger? Or even how is it being a good friend to ask your friend to be abused as well? Shouldn’t you be looking at how this relationship effects those around you? Is it putting your friends and lovers in harm’s way? If they abuse, you and you are their lover how do you expect anyone else to be safe?

        No one can control your actions, your mind set or you’re thinking the only person who controls that is yourself. Break the cycle and take your life and power back. No one person should have this much control over you in the first place. If a lover ever raises a hand at you, it’s not loved no matter how you spin it. Stop looking at everything as abandonment the only person abandoning you is your abuser realize this.

      “Safe space” was originally made for places that were specifically LGBTQ+ friendly, at a time when it was literally dangerous to be any of those things. That does involve the kink community, whether you like it or not.

      Safety for disabilities like PTSD and mental illnesses which make you unable to safely view disturbing content are also very important, but it’s another kind of safety.

    • It’s worth noting that this happens to precisely every SL RP sim. It’s legitimately unavoidable with this kind of “public community” model. All the people that were drama at other places come because they haven’t pissed off this particular owner yet, and all owners adopt the “second chance until you fuck up” policy because the alternative is a high elitism that you’ll also bitch about.

      You’re right, drama will flare up and close it at some point when the enjoyment isn’t worth dealing with the people that show up to bitch and create discord all in the name of self-centered self-pleasure. Some people thrive on chaos, ESPECIALLY on the internet (who knew, right?). They don’t care if they’re getting negative attention, as long as it’s attention.

    • It’s funny because my friends went there and played a certain group, and got kicked out because it apparently triggered and was threatening their safe space for LGBT. None of them did anything to outwardly target any LGBT members, or hardly RPed with anyone in the sim, but either way they were punished for being antagonistic group of characters, mind you this was all In character, not OOC. all of it was roleplay, but people couldnt separate their sexuality from their personality or characters and felt legitimately attacked. Admins took their side. Its pretty fuckin ridiculous that most SL RP sims have become this way. No one is allowed to RP as antagonistic or play certain things anymore because it hurts snowflakes feelings. Rp sims are no longer fun because of this, but yet allow taboo things like torture, rape, Dark RP settings but then flip their shit when people actually play into the dark shit that comes with DARK RP.

      Not only did the Admins pull this kind of crap, they also mean-girl’d another player for opening a shop. It’s like they’re a bunch of boomers that peaked in Highschool and couldn’t get over that fucking mentality of it. Their sim will most definitely get eaten up by the infantile drama that they perpetuate and the people they allow in their sims who have been banned for this very reason in others.

I’ve been in SL for 15 years and for well over 13 of them I felt like I was forced into being skinny or my avi would look weird. Guess what – that mentality translates into RL. I felt like being fat made me less worthy of kindness and love.

    These new curvy bodies and chubby mods have drastically helped my mental health. I’ve lost over 70 pounds this year alone, but even though I’m less “dumpy and fat” in RL now than I was, I still look in the mirror and see myself 70lbs heavier than I am. So excuse me for wanting to try and show some kindness to my body by modeling my SL avatar after it and showing my brain that my body is just as beautiful as my avatar.

They are some of the quietest creators on the grid, dropped their prices at the start of the pandemic, kept them low, and have a shit-ton of product included with their heads.     • It’s ridiculously easy to be skinny in SL, and the petite breast mods for Lara and Legacy came out long before the curvier add-ons. If you’re having issues being skinny with all the options you have already, I can’t imagine how anything else could possibly help you. Nearly all clothes are modeled on skinny/small breasted shapes (which is why large breasts break most graphics), you never have breast or thigh clipping issues if you’re dealing with a quality creator, and hell if you’re skinny enough you even have a better chance of wearing things made for more than one body. *I remembered after saving that there are also plenty of BOM add-ons for things like visible ribs and spine bumps, just like there are for rolls and stretch marks.*

      Are you just trash at making shapes or something? What exactly are you whining about, that makes it so you “can’t be skinny and petite”, as long as you also look like a fully grown adult?

      • Legacy/Maitreya/Signature all have a thin baseline. It is up to YOU to make sure the shape is in line with whatever you think is thin in your crazy head. Things can be changed with deformers and with a trial and error approach. If you can’t make a shape that is ok for yourself– look at the marketplace for a shape. There are free guides and shapes to try. Also if you end up looking like pedo bait then you are just bad at making shapes/have terrible taste in general.

    Honestly Lakewood got big because CV closed and no one wanted to go to Tarinfell or other places that don’t have a veil.

    The admins at Lakewood are horrible, they shoot down RP ideas AFTER approving it all because a player complained. Their leads are worse. Some are welcoming at first then completely focus on their friends, leaving you hanging for hours on end and others throw straight up tantrums at players when they don’t even know them. Kind of also funny how the admins put “safe space” in the sim description but yet it’s adult sim with adult themes. You allow guns, rape, torture ect. in roleplay but claim to be, yet again, a “safe space”

    It’s really a shame because at first this place was really good and I enjoyed it but now it turned into a cesspool of babies who think antagonistic roleplay is bullying and being mean IC rather than genuinely being evil.

    I was friends with a girl in the SL furry community who I firmly believe her partner forced us apart and has been incredibly abusive to her almost the entire time I knew her. Even forcing her to tell everyone that he never was and she made him being abusive up. He has access to all her socials, her SL account, her discord and has had for the longest time. He put into her mind that all her friends were trying to hurt her and as far as I know even fabricated that they were going behind her back, making her angry at them and making isolating her from them very very easy.

    I don’t believe the whole “If they wanted out, they’d get out.” It’s much harder than that, her situation is very similar to Amouranth, the streamer.

    I still feel the guilt of walking away but I don’t know how to help, I’ll gladly welcome her back into my life if she ever gets out, but until then I stopped knowing how to be there for her.
