  14. 35…Let me clarify this for you. You went into edit on the unrigged to move it into place. This temporarily adjusts the collisions, only for you. Others still see it, and it’ll appear to you again the moment reload cache such as teleporting relogging etc. Photographers use this same trick on rigged every day for photos. It has nothing do with rigged or unrigged, only that clicked edit. The fact still trying is really pathetic.

      • I personally find this entire situation to be upsetting more than anything. I’m a former wrestler who wasn’t around when all of this went down, but I have seen everything after. So many people considered Seth a friend. They gave him the benefit of the doubt and had thought he’d grown from who he was years ago. We all also gave him the benefit of the doubt despite his evil wife. There were several wrestlers in VWE that Samantha would shit talk on a regular basis and she’d get away with it, and people still considered him a friend despite how she treated people.

        People still remained friends with him despite the fact that his wife, who has no room to talk about appearances, would fucking harass people based on how they looked IRL. Like who cares, you don’t have to look at them??? She picked fights all the time and is just an awful human being. There’s clearly some mental health issues there that she needs to seek treatment for.

        At least he still has the people that use him to feed their egos and he has all the money he stole and could be using to get the mental health treatment his wife so desperately needs.   17. #34 What is so wrong with maitreya? I have loved the body ever since I found it. I don’t like legacy and I’ve been seeing bad things about them lately with their alphas. I don’t get why people have to be so harsh on maitreya, and anyone that does a poll on which body residents wear the most of Maitreya usually wins.

    • Generally speaking the body is old, the curves aren’t as natural as newer bodies and the shoulders are VERY square. It’s only good for making slender builds and even then I would argue that Legacy Perky is a better body for making those kinds of shapes. I find that the best looking Lara users are wearing multiple deformers to achieve a high quality avatar.

  18. If people rigged for Belleza Isis or Venus, I’d wear that over Maitreya. But they don’t. So in Maitreya I will stay. Legacy doesn’t do it for me, and the Kupra/Reborn/Kalhenes of the world aren’t my aesthetic.

    • I prefer Maitreya too. I hate the complexity hog of Legacy, not a fan of the shaping either. The waist is very unrealistic and hard to fix. The tits go sideways like always laying down. Shoulders are brick stiff looking, always positioned like at attention in army. You have to turned ankles almost at 100 just to get the hips aligned correctly to body without the massive gap. They been promising nail kits since beginning and still nodda. The HUD is an asspain in a half. It’s not all that. Nor do I wish to be a walking overdone pear like all the other new bodies, I prefer to be equally portioned. Maitreya is simply the best body out there for those wanting more egual realistic human forms.

    • How do they not understand this is 100% an alpha issue and nothing to do with the rigging :/ The solution is to find mod hair or hair without the alpha issue they showed….or use bom. I can understand preferring applied eyebrows – I use them – but I also don’t think the issue is in rigging.

      Message the creator if you’re experiencing baying alpha errors between a product. Unrigged vs Rigged won’t fix this, sorry to break it to you poster.

      • If the hair is mod, you can go into edit switch the Alpha dropdown to Blend and set the numbers to closest looks right. It won’t be as feathering and will not work for all. But many it will and still look good. Only reason did what did for 35. photo is because she temporarily cheated cache by going into edit. Any hair will do this rigged or unrigged edit or no edit. open edit box, but only you see it and once ache refreshes it’ll be fucked again. Its a known temp fix bloggers etc known for ages and she is trying play dumb

    • Agreed. Also, I’ve seen a bunch of designers that are excellent collage artists, basically, who make totally new builds using full-perm bits and pieces, and very often retexturing them. How is this not a creative act? How are these builds not “original”? “Originality” isn’t just about making things starting from the first polygon on up. As we’ve seen a billion times here, tons of people make “original mesh” recreations of RL things—so being able to mesh doesn’t mean your work is “original.”

      What makes something “original” and therefore worth supporting?

      I have multiple alts – the avatars that are juggling constant IMs and fielding a huge amount of male attention are the juggy ones with the extra padding. Not Maitreya.

      My main form of entertainment in SL is to build new alts based on RL inspiration with a bit of fantasy mixed in. I’ve spent way more than I should – but I pay my own way so I can spend my cash any way I choose.

      My avatars wear Maitreya Lara/Petite, Belleza Freya and Isis, Legacy Classic/Perky/Preg, EBody Curvy/Reborn, Kupra, Slink Regular and HG, Eve body, Erika Kahlene.
      Their bodies run the gamut between Slim teen, Heroin Chic, Most normal/average sizes with small tits all the way up to jacking the Kupra boobs all the way to 100.

      I do tend to keep the legs/ass/thighs on the lower end of the scale – the Sking look was never my style.

      Heads – Lelutka Origins, Evo/X, Multiple Catwa, Multiple Akeruka, Mayreal, and Vista. Haven’t quite pulled the trigger on the Catwa HDPro yet – but I’m sure it will happen eventually.

      It’s a lot of fun to come up with a new avatar/look, etc. The avatar name is important too, hence the multiple alts. They’re all hot/sexy/cute in their own way – I’m shallow – I like my avatars to be pretty.

  33. #21- I’m not really sure what prompted this one, but here’s some tea I got told about her that I never saw come up here: she got fired from being a teacher at Foxwood for bringing in a BDSM friend of hers as a guest speaker, who made a comment about his hucow pet and how she has to “earn her right to live.” From what I hear she made a big fuss about it too, she kept getting pissy that the school wouldn’t let her organize unofficial events with the kids after that and did a bunch of guilt-trippy public RP posts about how sad she felt about being fired. They let her stay on in an office role that wouldn’t be directly interacting with the students, I guess the admins felt bad for her or something, but seems like she’s moved onto Cedar Creek now lol

I still wear maitreya most of the time though, because I just don’t have enough ebody clothes in styles I like.   43. 34 Biggest problem with a lot of the bodies that have recently come out isn’t event he shape or size — it’s the way the sliders work. Ebody has the butt and stomach slider attached and moving together, Kupra has the arms size changing with the fat slider but in a really odd way. Of course, there are deformers to sort of fix this…but it doesn’t completely and the base shape still has these issues. It’s a weighing/sliders issues that feels reallysimilar to how Catwa’s old faces would freak tf out if you tried to alter them from the default shape too much. They’re not that customizable.

    The real outlier is Legacy — which I use off and on between mostly trying to still use Freya…but damn Legacy’s weird little thigh gap bothers me (more than is prob reasonable).

    Maitreya is fine. It’s customizable, there’s a ton rigged for it, and it has a pretty decent default shape that has a more natural appearance than a lot of the more stylized bodies that recently came out. Swapping from Maitreya to Legacy just to achieve the same shape and give up an old wardrobe really isn’t worth it for most casual users.

    • The butt/stomach slider thing is a thing for ALL avatars actually. It’s just more noticeable when you’re starting out with an exaggerated shape.

      Legacy—the thing the secret poster probably thinks I should be wearing—is a nightmare in assorted ways, from the number of triangles, to the unrealistic thigh gap that just won’t quit, and the fact that the knees are knocked in as part of the basic shape of the mesh, making any avi who wears it look anxious and trembling by default. Any attempt to fix it with the knee sliders just makes it worse. Sorry, I don’t want “whimpering” to be my main look.

      Kupra is Kupra. Enough said. It is what it is, and one of the things it’s not is flexible. It’s not gonna work for everybody.

      Tbh I would love to wear ebody all the time, but the wardrobe for it doesn’t exist yet, if it ever will, and I keep having to swap back because I have so much old Maitreya-fitted stuff that still looks great.

    • Body creators can’t link shape sliders together; that’s LL code. Literally all bodies have the stomach and butt sliders linked, and so do system avis for that matter, but some mesh bodies make it more obvious because they have a greater range of customization, from very small to very large. If a body can’t get very small and very large both, the sliders make less difference when you move them.

      Freya is a great body though, and quite a bit of the support has come back since the update, so that’s a good choice.  👍 

    • I HATE the thigh gap on the Legacy. I’d wear the Kupra if it wasn’t for the ugly boobs (I can live with the butt being so fat even at size 0). I’d still be wearing my beloved HG if it wasn’t for the fact that there aren’t that many “original” content being made for it anymore (and well the weirdly perky boobs for a body that is curvy). I’m waiting for the Reborn to go on sale to get it…and for more content to be created for it…but it too has weird things about it.

      Right now, Legacy is my go-to. It’s versatile with tons of cute/sexy things for it…just…that thigh gap ugh. I doubt there’s ever going to be a “perfect” body in SL.

      There are too many events anyway, and you can see how fucking tired designers are in what they’re producing.

      #36-37: People know that like, there are pinterest theme boards for every event, and the organizers post pictures of the kinds of things they want designers to make? And sometimes multiple people choose the same picture to work off of? Check out Pixicat vs. Asteroidbox in the latest round of Anthem for a perfect example of this. Also, fashion designs cannot be copyrighted—they’re basically never distinct enough. So, “glasses but they’re butterflies” or “a mushroom cap but it’s a hat” are concepts that anyone is allowed to work with, and they may have been encouraged by event designers. It’s not legally theft, it’s not protected IP, and the system is designed to work this way.

    I’ve tried almost every body in SL except Kupra and Reborn. While I’m not a fan of Maitreya’s shoulders/upper arms, it’s the only body I will wear. Legacy is a lag fest. Most stores have stopped carrying for Freya (and it’s only slightly less laggy than Legacy). Same goes for Slink; can’t find clothes (and even fewer clothes for Cinnamon and Chai).

    I’ve seen some other commenters have mentioned the Cake Day event. I went once, looked, shook my head and left. Cross-eyed hooker looks are not my aesthetic, but I guess store owners who can only use templates have to do something. Sorry Cake Day girls, but the Kardashians wouldn’t be caught dead in your stores.

    You hoochies can go on wearing your ill-proportioned balloon animals, pinheads, torpedo tits, thunder thighs, and non-existent ankles. I’ll keep my Maitreya.

      • Generally speaking (from like, an average human anatomy classic figure drawing POV), your shoulders should be twice as wide as your head is long. You should look like if your avatar tipped your head to the side, the top of your head would line up with the outside edge of your shoulder.

        The problem with the shoulders on some bodies is not that they’re too big, it’s that they’re too horizontal, which is why it can feel like your avatar looks like a rugby player covered in heavy shoulder padding. A lot of people deal with the shoulders is by reducing their shoulder width. But very often, they overdo it, leading to “delicate,” “feminine” shoulders that are so narrow they don’t even look like they can support the rest of the body.

        It’s the Invisible Pony of the 2020s.

        The cool thing about body deformers is that they will give your shoulders a natural slope while also allowing your shoulders to stay proportionally wide (but less noticeable because their shape is more natural). So being very nitpicky diva that I am, I really prefer them as a solution ^^;

      • that’s males not females. Anatomy in nursing. Women’s shoulders are even with hips or slightly smaller. Rarely anything bigger that’s noticeable. The head is 1/2 shoulder set in middle. Your hands cover face hairline to fingertips and base to chin. Feet are same as elbow to wrist. women’s hips are longer not this short thing see in SL a lot. Thick means extra weight skull to toes. Wrist is even with top thigh bone.

    • It’s just the people at cake day events who have no style and shop at places that have no main store or marketplace page because the content most of those creators make is ripped and rigged to those other bodies.   67. 34 the body looks as good as the shape. Most of the best clothes/rp items of high quality still fit it, huge inventories. Lots of us gave legacy (tmp) a shot I before but they screwed us out of money and the creator laughed about it on a steam group chat because they wanted to buy some trash prebuilt gaming Pc and needed the cash, then up and left. That people let that reputation slide is a sad thing. Just let people use what they want but people with a rep of ripping people off should not go unnoticed.

      • Oddly, I find it’s most noticeable when I’m rebaking and grey—the lack of texture throws the shape of the mesh into relief. In the crotch there is a small indent between two rather abstract outer labia. That’s it. I suppose a skin that wanted to be graphic could make something more of it but it’s more of a nod to the idea of a vulva than a proper body part. It is there, though.
