Trust me, I also hate that there isn’t really a body that looks nice and slots into the body type range that Legacy covers. Maitreya’s arms and legs are a joke anymore. If you like slimmer bodied builds, your choices are between crappy customer service and a questionably functional product with Legacy, or questionably functional customer service and a crappy product with Maitreya. Cinnamon&Chai is so far from being an option that I’m not even considering it here.

The question about what you would do if an RL emergency pops up last minute but you do have to cover this totally uber important virtual world event…they really expect anyone sane saying that they would chose SL over maybe picking their sick kid up from school? And now we know why they keep looking for people to hire every 3 weeks. Really I know some people will say oooh but it is their RL business so of course they demand things like this, well maybe in this case pay people in RL wages per hour and not in Linden, pay them via PayPal or such in real money 🙂 and btw my RL employer would never expect me to put EVERYTHING above them, especially not emergencies like picking kids up etc.

If someone earns RL income from it, and wants others to meet their pathetic deadlines like it’s an rl business, they should then pay RL cash and minimum wage as applicable to the country of the game. Which means US and that means paypal. Otherwise, expect a good job, but one that’s only bound by the extra time someone has for SL.

        Again, anyone could care less about what Seraphim is making and whether it is going into SL. Do not expect unrealistic items to actually not even pay the amount in SL. Because let’s be frank, any job that deducts your pay based on errors, is actually going to result in said company (and by company I mean Seraphim) inventing the errors to pay according to what they want to pay. Not what they told you. Maybe you need to get out of high school and mature a bit.

    • Some drama queen got hurt in the collab. The owner had a group of select designers. One of the designers didn’t like another designer and created drama within and then expected the owners and management to fix their problems for them.
      When this failed to materialize, drama queen ratted out the people who went under alts and systematically tried to get the other designer removed from the designer pool and other events.

      A bunch of idiots and newbs then jumped on the bandwagon to spew hate at the owners for shady business (going under alts) mostly due to being left out or not invited to the pool of designers and wanting the drama to continue even after the major players left the playing field.

      Oh and blaise from bf skins went on a rant about the owners being racist because they didn’t want her in the group (assumably because she’s a twat?)

    • Very good answer for 18. For people who say only about height, without judging other facts, not understanding how heights work in proportion with other things around us, in a world where there isn’t any 1 meter standard, shows toddler level logic failure.

      • other things is 3rd party issue doing it, however there is a height meter/feet in your edit shape to see and use, for a reason. Or even go by the newest avatars released by LL themself to see are much shorter than users giants especially those stuck in some thought process must be oversized

    • Most of my avatars are in the 5ft range, I think it’s more of an issue of people not knowing how to use height sliders well. A lot of people on SL make their avatars well over 6ft and think it’s normal lol. I even made an imp avatar that was about 4ft and I don’t think I had people asking me to change or tell me that I made them uncomfortable.

      In fact, the only time it happened to me lately was when a bunch of women in pony play gear claimed I made them uncomfortable just standing there in an anime avatar that was rather curvy and had platform heels on. The admin lady tried to act as if I was breaking some rules when I wasn’t even bothering them at all by telling me, “Oh I’m not saying it’s a child avatar but it gives off child vibes :)”

      I ended up changing into a furry with the kemono head and they didn’t bother me anymore after that.

      • It’s not about not knowing how to use height sliders; that’s stupid. The numbers are right there. The reason why most people make taller avis is because literally all of human-centered SL is built on a larger than rl scale. Stand next to any piece of popular creator furniture in a 5ft avi and you will instantly see the issue. When you are in an environment where you are child sized in relation to literally everything around you, you’re going to look underage no matter how many slider number excuses you make.

        That being said men in SL tend to make themselves insanely tall and they should chill the fuck out. They fuck up proportions the whole other direction, and create that creepy ageplay impression when they are with girls who probably would look normal if they were too.

      • I agree to an extent as there are definitely stores making furniture waayyy too big for my 5’5 avatar but some stores are getting better about it (I’ve even had to size up some furniture for it to look normalish)

      • Oh please, I’ve used SL for over 10 years. Most of the average userbase are just bad at making shapes. Even before mesh bodies were mainstream, people had fucked up proportions. Female avatars would make their legs super long and have tiny waists while male avatars would have super wide shoulders and small heads. On average, irl adults are in the 5ft range. It’s why people take issue with the short=underage, when there’s a lot more than to it than that like what they’re wearing and how they act. I don’t see why those toddler avatars are ok, but making an adult that’s 5ft is questionable somehow.

        Didn’t LL have a meeting about how people who made femboy, petite, and anime avatars aren’t a bannable offense by themselves?  🤔 

      • I didn’t say people weren’t bad at making shapes. I said they’re not confused about the height slider. Believe me, I’m well aware of how shitty most people’s proportions are, but they’re not unsure of how tall they are. I tried to go down to my rl height of 5’4″ once, but was immediately disturbed by how childlike my avi looked in my own living room. So now I style myself in proportion to environment, so I look basically the same as I do rl at 5’4″, but at 5’9-10″. I still look quite small next to most men, which was why I said they need to calm down and try not being 7+ft tall.

      • Why would you make yourself taller because of some furniture? That makes no sense at all. Usually good furniture you can resize and customize it to your liking. And like I said, they’re freakishly tall because most people don’t know how to make good shapes. Why do you think there’s a market for shapes in the first place?

      • You’ve never resized furniture, have you? All those settings in the avipose notecard, those coordinates for each animation, are based on the default size of the furniture. When you resize it, literally every pose gets thrown out of whack and no longer fits. Also, that only works for things I own, so I’d still look child size everywhere except my own home. Since I find even skirting around the edges of underage play absolutely vile, I refuse to put myself in a position to give that impression. Proportion to most common environment is the only standard of measurement that makes sense.

      • Agreed on many points. The reason for oversized items continuing to be a thing does relate to the trend of making avatars super tall though. It’s like a snake eating its own tail – things began oversized, people made oversized avatars, creators continued making things oversized, people continued making oversized avatars, etc etc etc.

        The problem though is that even mesh bodies have a limit of how tall they can be before they start to look inhuman, out of proportion, and other sliders like the head can’t go up any further to even the proportions out. For female bodies, that seems to be around 6’5″. Not sure for male ones but it sure as heck isn’t 8 feet tall. Meat has a point too, people do suck at making shapes. Even big names like LeL include super tall, out of proportion shapes with their products and you’d think they’d know better.

    • Was gonna say the same about 18. I have an adult avatar who is 6 feet tall in heels and there are male avatars that look exactly like that next to her. Female ones too. SL has a real issue with giant adult humans.

    • It’s pretty spot-on. Some events will add the seraphim blogger to the blogger groups, so you get all the items for free. But only employees who have been there a long time get those due to seniority. It’s great if you are looking to make some connections in the event/blogger/creator community, but the Haarlem is definitely not worth the measly pay.

      and yes, they have high expectations for their bloggers. I can’t blame them since this is someone’s RL business though

      • It is difficult because I would hate to see something happen to that website, I love browsing for sales in SL on it – it’s a lifesaver. But nothing in SL comes before my RL commitments – NOTHING! Even if I was paid $5000L a week and got all the stuff from the events, there is still nothing in SL that comes before my RL.

      • No website should be difficult to miss. This means that they have complete monopolization of a particular industry within SL. And they need a competitive website to launch soon and actually counter them one to one. It will of course need to stay off of actually housing a sim with stores too to concentrate on actual advertisement of events, and of stores. Time that someone thinks outside the box.

      • You’re right. Competition evens out the playing field. Right now, they think they’re untouchable, so they have all these high expectations and paying peanuts in return. Seraphim is like a virtual sweat shop. Someone needs to report their ass to the Dept. of Labor lawl But to be fair, if no one accepted the shit pay, they would be forced to offer better compensation; so stop working for bullshit, people! If you want that $4 so badly, work at McDonalds for 20 mins.

      • Actually, I can blame them for a measly 1k a week. That’s pocket change, 4 dollars and it’s not even minimum wage. And they are probably doing that for 2 hours if they don’t have top of the line computers. Which means that they have to spend 20 minutes rezzing, another few fighting lag, and then taking 20 pictures of each item to present them to someone who will probably claim most of them are wrong, so they can pay even less than 1k.

      • You can have high expections only if you are willing to actually pay for the labour and that applies to any world and any job owner or corporation. They had the high-expectations but didn’t want to give anything, which to me is BS. Their expectations are unrealistic; and to be frank they know it is the case. That is why they claim you will get paid 1k but if you have errors they will deduct. It’s cheating and a way to never actually pay you 1k because errors on images are subject to the eye of the beholder. What to you is a good photo for me is a terrible one, and vice-versa. So if they are that picky, it’s more so because they want to deduce as much as possible and not pay anything or far less than the 1k. (Rip-off)

    • Surprising the owner of seraphimsl has enough to purchase a named sim after itself but is unable to pay a living wage to its workers. Being paid in pennies for hours of work is slavery and I hope the owner gets their ass handed to them when someone reports them to the department of labor.

      Also bloggers, if you want to be paid you need to stop taking these pennies earned on the hour jobs to support your hobby. Why work for free swag and pennies when you can find an actual job that will respect you as a human and actually pay you for doing what you enjoy?

    • TBH it’s less than 1000L a week. You get paid based on events, and that’s if you can snag and fight for them. You constantly have to be looking at discord to see if events come available and try to say “mine” faster than all the others.

    • It would be nice if a maker did not swap constantly between bodies for their clothes so you know that you can either, purchase the outfit because your body type is included or skip them all together because you know they never make clothes for your body type.

      Often you cannot see what bodies are supported when you look at a website like seraphimsl and just see the picture. Again, it would be very nice if the designer just stuck to the same set of bodies for their clothes.

Their group and enjin (who uses enjin in 2022….) have inflated numbers because they’ve kept the same one since 2014.
