I’ve seen people who worked there for a long ass time being kicked out ’cause the manager in charge decided they weren’t good anymore. Are you so short on your desired levels of haughtiness that you are compelled to make yourself look like your contacts are too gummed up to see straight? I’m quite clear, personally, as are several others here. If someone wants a narrow torso and big hips, that’s their deal. If they want something more balanced, their deal also. Bruises? Their call. Those members pay upfront costs up the chain to those who enrolled them. As newer members in turn recruit underlings of their own, a portion of the subsequent fees they receive is also kicked up the chain. Ummmmm…taking a split on sales is not a pyramid scam.

  7. #44 I have been in this event since 2015. The owner works his tail off. I have paid rent at other events and sales at some places are not great and end up at a loss. Swank takes a split yes but I only pay on what I sell. My sales have always been great there and I find the split to be reasonable with no worries coming out at a loss. This guy advertises like crazy. He promotes my products and my brand all over SL as well as social media making the exposure alone way worth it. This event is not greedy the guy gave us weekend sales at no cost to us. No rent, No fee and no split. We keep 100% of the weekend sales making this event now the best value wise and cheapest for what I earn out of it. I have to say this event allowed me in at a time other events only allowed original mesh creators and I was not one of them. I create original mesh now and I know what event gave me the opportunity when no one else did. I know where I started and I am never leaving! I’m very happy. It is indeed a very good deal.

The idea of the event was to raise money for charity, not to line the pockets of campers and alts. To my friends and myself there was a battle of egos on both sides, Tiny Alpha and Liam… Bidding wars for traffic are as old as the Grid itself. P.S. So before you get butt hurt Tiny (yes we kinda worked out #5 had something to do with you) How many alts does it take to have a party or be an Alpha???

      creators started rigging for reborn ahead of time because ebody gave out the dev kit (without any flack) before it was released. from a business aspect, it’s smart because if you want to buy a new body, you’re more likely to do so if there’s ample support for it. plus if you rig for the other popular bodies (legacy and maitreya in particular), this one is not far off and far better with regards to weights than kupra. it was easier for creators to update their stock bc…this body actually fits nicely in line with the other popular bodies (proportion wise) and i think it will do well solely based on that. the body is only as good as its creator support.

      IIRC kupra didn’t do any of that bit of planning ahead of time, which is why you saw so many people nagging creators for months if they were going to update their stock to kupra. some of these people are still begging lol. inthium put out their own event to mitigate this but i think ebody’s approach was a lot smarter.

      • Yep, honestly I really admire the proactive planning and advertising of the ebody folks. It was smart as hell.

        And then I tried the body and got really impressed for other reasons, because it turns out the ebody people are smart as hell in other ways too. Its complexity? Literally 1/5 that of Legacy. 2/3 of Maitreya, more like 1/2 of Maitreya if you wear the petite add-on with it. I have the screenshots, I have done the math, do it for yourself, be appalled at the complexity of Legacy.

        As for the body itself: rarely have I seen a body this flexible. It’ll do Kupra proportions if you want it to (and with boobs that are less weird). (The Kupra boobs are kind of flat in front, which gives a great look if you’re wearing clothes because then it looks like the clothes are constraining your tits, like they’re just waiting to pop out. That can be hot. But if you’re naked, honestly, it looks weird af.)

        But it also doesn’t have to do Kupra proportions. There are some levels of skinny you’re not going to be able to get out of that body (it honestly makes me wish there was an ass gravity slider to match the boob gravity sliders). But it’s one of the more flexible bodies out there. You’re not trapped in a single look with it.

        It also has some serious user-friendliness advantages over other bodies. That hud? Lightweight and easy. Doesn’t require me to turn on automatic media play to use it! (Wtf, Legacy?!) Materials? Just built in, no adding a tattoo mesh over my regular mesh that won’t work with alpha layers because it can’t be BOM (looking at you, Maitreya!) It has some transformable mesh bits so that BOM-layer clothing looks less weird, like, it’ll fill in your belly button! Stretch a shirt over your boobs! That’s so damn smart!

        People are going to accuse me of being an ebody shill, whatever. It’s not perfect, nothing is. That ass is SO MUCH, seriously. Also, the like, total lack of distinct ankles? My fingernail options are trimmed guitar-playing lesbian or GIANT WOLVERINE CLAWS? There are SO MANY ALPHA CUTS, that’s great, but literally no way to control them by group?

        I could go on. But I definitely picked one up, because the smart advertising made me curious and the smart design of the body sold me. I hope they’ll fix the cankles, but I mostly wear boots so I can probably live with them and just thank the SL gods for the reduced lag.

      • The layers are there to use if you need them for appliers. If you don’t need them (which many don’t, or possibly only need a single layer), this enables you to essentially wear a less complex mesh vs previous iterations of the body that had those layers attached at all times.

        If people aren’t reading the documentation and are wearing unnecessary layers because they can’t be assed to read and follow instructions, that’s on them. It’s not a difficult system. And you know that’s exactly what’s happening with the people out there doing it wrong. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked a question covered in the included notecard (that’s titled along the lines of “START HERE, PLEASE READ” and is specifically kept concise for low attention spans) with products, I wouldn’t need to make anything ever again. You shouldn’t “make things simpler” at the cost of the product’s quality or features to try to idiot proof it. Because there will always be people who will make that moot.

        Maitreya has issues with their body for sure, but the layers aren’t the issue.

    • Legacy and Maitreya both reached out to set up partnerships for Petite/Perky from desirable stores, and Legacy’s partnerships basically had the original body on equal footing with Maitreya’s from jump. This is a standard practice now, and why bodies like Signature Alice or Tonic Fine and Curvy never got a bigger market share – the places they partnered with weren’t as desirable as the Blueberry and such of SL fashion.

It also doesn’t mean that there aren’t creators who make stuff like that, year round.     • Actually, Virgil isn’t that bad of a singer. He just sings way too high for his voice. A lot of his songs are way out of his range. He sings very well singing at a lower pitch than most of the songs he does. You’d think his partner Noma will tell him that or at least give him a heads up. I mean they sing together and she at least sings within her range. He is a fantastic guitar player so that’s one of the reasons why he is able to book gigs in SL. BUT yeah, most of his songs sound like nails on a chalkboard. Sing low Virgil and you’ll do much better. I will say he’s never asked for tips nor sweet-talked me into giving a tip so that part is a bunch of bullshit. He’s a super nice guy.

I was wanting to hear more about that because right now it sounds like (if true) he’s trying to live a poor man’s rock star life and people unfortunately fall for it.         If he’s trying to pass off other people’s guitar performances as his own, now you have some better tea and I’d love to hear about that. I’ll be honest though, the last musician in SL I really cared about at all was Doggy (because it’s a great gimmick). Music is so easily accessable now, even from beginning or small artists, this just seems like a very niche way to approach an audience with very unique challenges to it.

    Unlike a lot of other events they actually bother with promotion all month. This dude was giving out free weekend sale spaces and everything this month. (no cut).

    If the event is taking a cut rather than an entry fee they are going to be inclined to make as much money as possible and that works out great for you, because you have to make money for it to work.

    Other events will often charge you 2k+ just to slap their event on Seraphim and hope it makes enough to suck you back in the next month.

    I am going to assume you are either one of the biggest dogs there or have never been in a high performing event before if you think the cut is too much.

My sl partner is my rl boyfriend, we meet in SL 10 years ago, we were friends before we started dating and we’ve been together for 9 years.         These are people putting on scripted, choreographed “fights” (they stand in a ring and play animations), commentators weave an action-filled narrative over it to try and make it feel like more, and then the pre determined winner “wins” and they all get up and walk off. Repeat over and over for a show. It’s no different than the real-life version except in real life, the participants must be able to perform in ways that are challenging physically while doing so in a way that minimizes risk of injury and still looks somewhat believable.

      • I’ll be 100% honest, as a customer I love their mods, but some of them look like total beginners work. The reason I say that is how the mods are structured the designs look like a stickers plastered on the body or just some brush pack from deviantart. I don’t think they have some of the professional tools for texturing like essence painter for example.

        I follow Yamiko and saw some of the drama regarding UMBRA but I don’t think they were copying them and just having a beginner style doing what was popular. They Did attack UMBRA for a time, but that died off after they tweeted again.

        While yes it was shitty of them to join and attack, they’ve since stopped any if not all attacks and jabs to umbra meaning that tweet is probably genuine and they’re done with the drama.

        You can also see all the new mods showing their progress as a creator changing from their “controversial” beginnings, and since umbra has made no claim of theft nor has yamiko ever apologized for copying, there was NO evidence besides some salty fans. I like your idea of starting with trends, a lot of creators do this and it makes complete sense.

        In reference to yamiko being in the same places as umbra, that is difficult to say but if there’s no drama it shouldn’t matter. Unlike geld yam is still in furzona and instead of being neighbors like psicorp and geld were, they’ve moved to the other side. Some places may not allow that like KZK who have less space to offer.       • From what I understand, have put together, and have seen; Blaze is the one who is stirring the pot because she can’t get rid of her hard-on for SenMonster. If I remember correctly, Sen made a hyena character when hyenas were the flavor of the month some time back, and Blaze attacked Sen because they were still talking at the time, and because they had some kind of “special meaning” to Blaze so no one near her was allowed to make a hyena, an actual living species. Sen ended up deleting the character because Blaze was throwing a legitimate temper tantrum. It’s not like Sen used the black, white, and teal coloring or copied any aspect of Blazes character, so there was really no need for her to act the way she did. I’m pretty sure it was just dark gray and black, with spots/stripes or something? Sen has been known to pull stuff from her past characters and incorporate them into current ones, I’m sure there is somewhere that you can see said characters; be it on her FA, Toyhouse, twitter, whatever. If people took two seconds out to actually look at stuff, instead of being stuck so far up someone’s ass to see the light of day, maybe they could see that for themselves.

        All I’ve gathered is that someone needs to knock Blaze down a few pegs, because honestly at this point she just looks pathetic that she keeps going after people because she thinks they are copying her characters designs or whatever. She also needs to learn that you can’t claim colors, species, or phrases. From what I’ve seen, Sen typically keeps to herself, and only ever talks about Blaze when Blaze does something or cries to one of her punching bags about someone else trying to “copy her character”

        At the end of the day, Blaze either needs to drop this crap where she thinks everyone is out to get her and trying to copy her weird hyena monster thing, or just be quiet and move the fuck on.

      • The only person who can answer that question is* the Lelutka creator; the promise to update the Origins line to Evo definitely did happen, though. And if they can update Origins to Evo, and they can upate Evo to Evo X, I don’t really see any logic in saying Origins can’t be updated to Evo X.

        HOWEVER

        Those heads are old as fuck, and until we start giving Catwa shit for not doing any updates whatsoever on her original line to HDPro despite Catya still being a very popular choice for basic bitches while almost no one wears Origins anymore, seems nit picky to whine about. Then again, if you expect anything you buy in SL to last forever on the cutting edge of progress, you’re probably kinda stupid and entitled in general.

      • You wont find help here in this place. There is the pro-Lelutka camp (defenders that will pitchfork anyone that contradicts their view even if that person has Lelutka heads). There are pro Catwa camps. And it’s basically high school on steroids in sl. People can’t critique a brand or they are labeled entitled. As someone that owns Lelutka heads myself, I can tell you I buy them because I like them. It’s not because I’m a cult fan of Lelutka and kneel before the brand. If another solid brand makes a head I can contort to what I want, I’d switch. And to be honest the childish behavior of people going against those that actually ask specific questions toward creators and brands; makes me actually want to just switch to another brand. It’s almost as if we left adulting and went back to being little silly girls and boys.

The fact that she pulled the “Go to the newer money making” scheme that most creators do doesn’t mean that some people should not hold her accountable. Fair is fair, if a brand claims they will update something and they move to the new shiny thing to get more lindens; people have a right to protest. It’s not being entitled. It is actually something that was advertised and may have made someone decide to get a head rather than another.

    • Taking the same mesh, re-rigging it using more experienced methods and updating the necks to the newer standards they have picked might take 2-3 hours each old head but would make thousands of people happy.

      To suggest it’s impossible to do is being an apologist for inaction. The question is; are they willing to do it to keep their less affluent or more particular customers happy.

Most creators in sl look forward and not back, those 2-3 hours they can work on it for them is a loss of revenue.     • I’ve had same experience. He told me he was partnered to his best mate cos he had had enough of being hit on by sooooo many girls at clubs. I looked at his SL profile and then his Flickr and wondered myself why on earth he was messaging a girl. Long story short it took a bit of time to get rid of him as he doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer very easily. It was a very weird experience.

    • So, I don’t really hang around with furries, but as far as I can tell the heads they primarily use still do not have the ability to be customized with shape sliders; I also don’t think they are bento, even in the current year. I could be wrong there, but I’ve never seen them animated in the way human style bento heads are, with expression moods or even talking animations. Every different “breed” kinda all looks the same as far as heads go. Their skins tend to be sort of cartoony and flat, lacking in the kind of details that differentiate human style skins from each other; you might get some shading, but not much else. So, it appears most of the way they make themselves feel “unique” is with markings, and they seem to get very territorial about the shape, color, and placement of those markings based on the drama that gets posted here.

  55. Linden isn’t even that expensive though and there are loads of ways to go about earning it. And land in SL is like owning land irl. You wander into someone’s property, you’re subject to their rules. Don’t like it? Then leave. This applies to both worlds.

You can do what you want with your own property, within the “law”(TOS) and that includes allowing and disallowing whoever you want, for whatever reasons you want or no reason at all. In fact, you have more freedom to discriminate in SL than you do in RL, because SL businesses aren’t bound by those laws.
