    • I’ve been in Psi’s Discord for a long time and honestly, I prefer his ex over Geld helping him run his store, Geld likes to think she is better then his ex when in truth she is far worse then them, yeah they were not the greatest but damn at least they did not cause this much damage to his reputation, I have had several friends warn me not to buy from them and I feel like i am walking on eggshells when i talk in the official discord, also, I noticed that Geld is doing everything his ex did except 10x worse, rude to customers, deleting comments she doesn’t like, takes criticism very seriously, and don’t even dare try and compare her art to someone else or say it reminds you of someone’s art (particularly Mindmachines cause let’s face it, she is hardcore trying to be like him) then you get banned or booted so, i left the discord after the whole beastiality thing hit the fan, not supporting someone who bullies others then cries and hides in a corner when she is called out for it. be an adult, apologize and move on Geld, it is not that hard to do.

    There was a dude that made a damn good post who got ignored by all the other people that just so happened to be furries. Saw the dude TP away since it was obvious they weren’t going to respond and I promptly left as well, leaving a bad taste in my mouth about it.

    Dragon players, in general, seem entitled and mix OOC and IC way too much. Not going to say ALL are like that, but most of them have those tendencies from my experience.

    • If you actually talk to the guy in question, He’s quite nice and will explain the actual truth. The dude was fed up with being talked down to by one of the guys involved, had tried to communicate with him to gain understanding and got cursed at for no reason. Ultimately I side with him cause he did what many of us wish we had thought of…. getting even with a power hungry sim owner who probably was not the one paying the rent.

  22. #5: The size you instinctively want to make something is probably the wrong size. Get some artistic charts of body proportions. Look at some anatomical charts. Your head needs to be smaller than you are going to instinctively want to make it. Your shoulders need to be wider. Your arms need to be longer, like, seriously, at 90. Use your own body. Tilt your head. What part of your shoulders does it touch? Does your avatar’s head look like it could do that? If not, then something is off. Reach your hands down to your thighs. Where do they hit? Your avatar should be approximating that. For femme avatars, your hips should roughly be about as wide as your shoulders—maybe a bit wider, maybe a bit narrower. If you wanted a corseted look, wear a corset; your naked body should look more or less human if you have a human avatar.

    Think about gravity. Are your tits huge? They should sag down. Probably a lot. They’ll still be pretty huge and bouncy, this is SL, but they’ll look a lot better. Think about physics in general. Do your arms look like they might snap if you picked something up? Bump up that upper arm muscle slider. Gentlemen, are you so muscular you might not fit through a door? Tone it down.

    A little bit of exaggeration is OK, because we’re never going to look fully realistic, but if you can keep it to a minimum, you’ll look loads better. Last: Don’t be afraid of a little ugliness or asymmetricality. A big nose, a lopsided smile: these make someone memorable and striking, not just beautiful or fit or hot.

    • Nearly every head in SL is too damn small unless it’s one of those creepy child height avis; I can’t even imagine why you would tell people they would probably go for too large. Most men in SL look like their tiny little pinhead is sitting on mantle piece shoulders, and the main reason why women pass better is voluminous hair.

      Otherwise, your advice is good. I forgot about that thing where apparently it’s hot to look like you have no room for lungs in your naked torso, let alone any of the lower organs. ï»ż 🙄 ï»ż

      • I find masculine avis tend to have pinheads and feminine avis tend to have balloon heads. Either way, no one gets it right. But I confess, I have way more experience making shapes for women so that’s the tendency I am always trying to combat.

        Anyway, a lot of people DO go for too large because faces are super important socially. It’s the same reason why cartoon characters and caricatures have giant heads. It’s the important bit. But that works better if you’re 2D or in an aesthetic world (like a Pixar film) where everyone is proportioned and designed similarly.

    #14: FINALLY I’m not the only one. I HATE alpha scripts and auto alphas with a passion, they always glitch out for me. I just use BoM and make my own alpha layers, that way you can save alphas with outfits, and you can make them more precise than alpha cuts anyway. So much easier.

    #33 and #34:They’re both fucking awful and although GELD gets most of the shit on here, PsiCorp has been a scumbag for years. I was alwasys convinced, even as far back as around 2015, that PsiCorp was a genuine fucking zoophile considering he made animal genitalia of a whole hoard of different species, often advertising it as realistic. Plus look at the detail of textures on them. I think you can probably guess how he uses references to make them. (Also, perhaps it’s stereotyping, but I do believe he’s German and Germany only made bestiality illegal as late as 2013. He was creating before that I think, so… yeaaaaah. Food for thought…)

    The good news is that, aside from the obscure animal dicks, nothing they make is that special and can’t be found anywhere else. Raptordog especially. Psicorps heads are pretty ugly and suffer from same face syndrome, literally any other canine head makers like Cerberus or Happy Paw do it better. And raptordog’s content? Nearly all copied from other artists.

      • Static and “bouncing around” are not the only options. Lots of people make calm animations that breathe and shift a little so you don’t look like a mannequin, or like a tweaker.

Make a copy of the clothing item, set it to the color you want, delete the scripts, save it with the outfit. Easy peasy. Deleting the scripts is better for the grid anyway.

    36 – Huh? Why wouldn’t you wear the eyes that come with the head and are rigged for that specific head? It makes absolutely no sense to wear a different head’s eyes, especially from the same damn brand? And “forcing” you to have a babygirl head, seriously? If your head looks too small even when you’ve maxed out its size, then the problem is with your ridiculous body proportions, not the head.

I didn’t get judged by my appearance, but there were some people there who I felt were not being friendly to those who were there to visit, shop, and perhaps be apart of the parade I heard about. But I got unwelcoming vibes from them, because they were only talking and being nice to people they apparently knew and were choosing to disregard others around them. I even asked them a question about a script warning I was getting on sim, because I was wondering if it would eject/kick me, and while they said no, one of them *Shrugged* at it, before being super polite and chatty to someone else soon after. I felt like I was disregarded and snubbed, and do to feeling awkward, I had chosen not to take part in this event. When you host an event for any kind of cause, you need to realize not everyone is going to show up dressed in fashion or to partake in events or whatever theme you have planned. Most people come there to shop and engage, to which you need to respect. Our money is supposed to get donated to these causes, and if you upset your visitors, you don’t get the money you’re seeking. And to the person who posted about their experience, I’m sorry you were treated like crap just because you weren’t dressed the way they wanted you to be. It was wrong and they should be ashamed for their behavior.

    • I visited Dragons Lair and when I enquired about other groups events at the fundraising event I was told to avoid 2 realms one in particular until they had “informed me about the current situation” and if I went there I would be banned along with the “trash” that is in that group. I don’t know what the politics of it all is but it put me off that particular group instantly the fact they felt the need to trash talk people I had not even met yet.

    And those proportions I mentioned? Play with stretching them a bit. Go beyond, go below. People are basically symmetrical when nothing interferes with it. But within that symmetry is a range of options.

    Oh, and use a neutral sky setting like CalWL, Nam’s Optimal Skin and Prim, or the like when you do it.

  37. #4 Yes, greed is ugly, and buyers have to avoid being ripped off by checking around first. When people say that SL is too expensive, I tell them they need to spend more time going through the MP instead of buying the first things they see. There’s some great deals there and freebies too.

    I recently told a furniture maker that I didn’t buy her stuff because it’s all too expensive, like $4000L for a bed. She had a melt down and proceeded to ‘inform’ me of what it takes to make things, as if I didn’t know.         Years ago, I played in medieval sims. I started in the modern rp communities this year and had some great ideas that were completely dismissed, so I left and opened my business elsewhere. Now I see my ideas that were so lame then, are good enough to be implemented now at CC after I was basically pushed into leaving. I’m still a member there but I have nothing to do with you people except for a couple of friends that I hang out with at my own place. I can tell you all that you’ve lost a good person, a great rp’er and a generous friend because you’re all a bunch of dicks. Only Cade and Cody have been nice to me, over customer service stuff.

        I actually come here to this site to try and figure out what the deal is with these rp places. So far as I can tell, the whole community is made up of about 25-30 people, who almost all have at least one alt. One well known woman there has at least 8 that you can tell are the same person by certain things she says about herself. It can been seen by the number of likes and dislikes here too. I’ve seen some pedo stuff and a bit of drama but…no rp whatsoever. Maybe it’s because I’d rather leave sl than to involve myself with the 6th grade, drama story you’ve described above to be included by ‘anyone’ there. Maybe it’s because the only ‘job’ I ever had an interest in was a lie about the events group, but nothing to do with the FD, that is not me at all. I can almost guarantee that I’ve never met you either. None of you even speak to me, so I’ve never been involved in anything. I wander around alone, saying hello to people who walk away without saying a word, lol, you’re all so rude to me, for no reason at all. I’m amazed to hear this because, you’d have to ever speak to a stranger to be able to come up with these accusations and, you people don’t do that, you all stay in your houses until a clique party comes up and then you’re all on a skybox even though that’s supposedly, “against the rules” which means, only for non-clique members. Do I have that all about right?

        Dude was a huge problem at Spira and as far as I know, the first person to recieve the Menace tag. (Basically something admins slapped on to players who wouldn’t stop misbehaving, making it so that fairness to combat rules didn’t apply to you, you had a bounty on you at all times and such.) Why? Oh because he tried to capture people as sex slaves and demanded that faction leaders bow down to his epic teh alpha male master dominant fantasy.
        The guy also broke the sim rules and was a MASSIVE dragon avatar that was too big for Spira’s size box, but the admins allowed it anyway, because they were too forgiving and too afraid to put their foot down. That’s why the sim closed; they were intimidated by the toxic people and their retaliation rather than just banning them.

        There’s also another guy, Gorbash Drachen, who ran around as a feral gryphon constantly in “heat” trying to rape people, INCLUDING THE EVENT BOSS. Where other sims ban these people, Spira sadly gave them too much lenience and that was the sim’s downfall.

      But we basically all got chased out or even TEMP BANNED for not engaging in zoophile animal fucker RP or fighting the meta tryhards who broke the HUD and ran around dealing massive damage at randoms.
      So basically anyone who was there for stuff more than sex was quickly stopped because the rest would turn on us and try their damndest to keep us out. The admins shut down the sim because of “OOC toxic players they couldn’t find” but we all knew who they were, they just wouldnt ban them because if they did, their player base would suffer. Without zoophilia and stuff the sim wouldn’t be that appealing, it was just generic plot wise and there wasn’t much in the way of story.

I made all my shapes myself. only once I bought a ready shape for a specific head. just because the photo was just incredibly beautiful. then I tried a DEMO of everything that was there (skin, hair, etc.).     • I don’t know who you are, but I appreciate you. I’ve been around CC for a long long time, and have seen many sheriffs come and go. Every department is going to have their issues but Hartley is above and beyond the best ‘administrative’ sheriff. Chun tried to be but his own ego got in his way. Nic would have been good had he ever been around and not pushed it onto his command staff. Nyra had alot of irons in the pot to where it stretched her thin, Cara was good moreso on events than on actual “sheriff-ing” (IE Administrative).

      In RL the only time you see a sheriff is at a major incident, on backup, or political events (since it’s an elected position). The fact that Hartley gets in to patrol even as much as he does? That’s impressive.

      If the complaint that this OP has is simply that there aren’t events? Then I’d say he’s doing pretty good.

      • as someone who actually knows Nyra, the truth of the matter FYI was that she had RL come down on her like a ton of bricks, she asked for time off even to sort it and got handed work to do instead, so really it was not to much going on as you stated, more so that she needed a little time to get RL sorted and couldn’t get it, so she did what she needed to do, as RL come first, and always should come first. I can tell you as a fact she did not want to step down when she did, she had to as management gave her no choice at the time.

  58. No. 15 – Flickr does that a lot. Have had it happen to me several times and when I contacted Support, I was told the auto recognition program they have is kind of hit or miss but to report it whenever it changes something and is wrong. They use the reports to tweak the algorithms or something so the more notifications they get when its wrong, the better. They also told me to just manually change the rating back to safe after reporting the error.

    • Had the person actually read my flickr post and not just seen what they perceived as some juicy gossip they would have also known that it wasn`t a new post that the flickr bot wrongly rated, it was the last 7 pages of my stream that had been set to moderate not a new upload. Those pages had already been deemed safe by Flickr themselves as the exact same thing had happened some months earlier. These where really old pics going bk as far as 2017.
      When someone is flagging that amount of pics then yes an account is then deemed as not safe.

    5) Just start practicing. Start a shape, learn to do the body first. Keep practicing, just the body, height, size, body proportions. Then work on the head and face, little tweaks here and there. Save it, put your old shape back on. A few days later try it again, try different skin combinations. Makeup and add-ons and hair can really change your appearance. A lot of shape makers sell shapes that have different proportions or look weird. I guess its to keep people from completely copying them. If the shape you bought is mod, and it should be copy down the numbers of the parts you like. Use them on your shape. Eventually, you’ll figure it out and never have to buy a shape again.

I’ve taken years off from SL though, and I don’t pay any attention to it whatsoever when I do. You need to find some free to play stuff to occupy yourself, because that’s weird af.

    5. You can’t expect a shape to translate across skins as far as looking like the vendor pic- that makes no sense- and “shape advice” is really too big a topic for the secrets. I can tell you some common problem areas though. In order to look like a proportionate adult human:
       1) look at your own rl facial proportions. Observe how your eyes sit on level with the tops of your ears, and how your pupils line up with the outer corners of your mouth. Look at how big your head is in relation to the rest of your body. Look how much area your chin actually takes up and the angle of your jaw from the side. This is how an adult head and face should appear.
       2) look how long your arms are at your sides, where your hands sit in relation to your crotch. This is how long your arms should be.
       3) look at how big your hands are in relation to your head; you can put your palm against your jaw and see how your fingertips reach your hairline- or where it would be, if you’re balding. This is how big your hands should be, if you’ve already made your head big enough.
       4.) the bigger your breasts are, the less buoyancy they should have, and don’t ignore the love handle and saddlebag sliders if you’re curvy. Hip width makes gaps, which curvy women do not have.
       5.) the hips are the midpoint of the body. Your legs should not be twice as long as distance from your hips to the top of your head.

    Beyond this, just figure out what you don’t like about your shape and tweak it, just a few slider points at a time. Save copies of shape tweaks in case you don’t like the way it looks next time you log in. You’ll get there.

My snark was more aimed at the implication that furniture stores were somehow discriminating against anyone, like how they thew in “queer tax” for the buzz. It’s not prejudicial to not offer things that 1) don’t exist, because most furniture creators buy their animations from the same few people (RNP, Kabuki, etc), and it’s those creators who should be implored to make more options and 2) wouldn’t sell as much if they did, because even if they buy their animations and meshes, there’s still a significant amount of extra work that goes into just assembling furniture for more than the “standard” couple, making the animations fit on the mesh for 4-5 people at a time is time consuming, and they wouldn’t sell very much of it compared to furniture for couples and threesomes.

        Creators aren’t “taxing” anyone by focusing on what sells the best. This is just normal business. Funny how it seems like none of these people who insist we need more poly/queer friendly stuff are learning to make animations and support their communities.
