    • The point isn’t that it’s normal. At least in the ads, it doesn’t look bad at all. But it’s repeated over and over. Other designers repeat things, too, but at least for events try to put out something newer or different, with different textures or colors, at the very least. Their stuff is exactly the same every time. And in my limited experience with them, their fits are awful, too, which is why I stopped buying. Maybe they’ve gotten better about that, but their designs are same old, same old.

Any person who is actually in the BDSM lifestyle will discuss those limits BEFORE any sort of relationship or play even gets started. And, guess what – the Dominant also has limits. Limits are not just for the submissive.

    As to protecting abusers – just no. If someone is found to be an actual abuser, their name goes out like you would not believe. With proof, because without that, its a he-said-she-said situation, just like in any other relationship. And again, guess what – abuse goes both ways. It isn’t always the Dominant in the relationship, just like with all walks of life.

    • I made #46, I’ve been in the bdsm community since I turned 18, both as a dom and a sub, RL and online. I know my way around the block.
      This secret was made primarily in response to the backlash people get for submitting secrets being critical of bdsm-related things they come across, I feel criticism from outside our spheres can be useful to examine our own behavior and minimize harm. Anyone who says ANYTHING about being uncomfortable with something adjacent to abuse being (in their view) fetishized, they get met with people coming out of the woodwork to say “shut up you vanilla bitch, it’s some people’s kinks, go have missionary sex you stick in the mud.” Don’t believe me? Look at the replies to any kink-critical secret, even #48 from this week.

      There’s no need to be uppity and derogatory towards people who don’t like the same things as us, that’s the definition of having a limit, we can’t assume anything about a person if they haven’t said anything. I think it’s fine and normal to be concerned about potential abuse! Play situations can and do go way too far, and go into dangerous territory! A couple years back, a well-liked woman in my local community died during a scene, her dom was arrested for manslaughter, and that kinda shook all of us up and made a lot of us reconsider the way we play. Yes, they both technically took that risk, but of course neither of them actually thought that something that could actually happen to them, it wasn’t really a reality. Being horny about something doesn’t negate its danger and potential harm to you and others, and I want more people to think about that. Your safety and your life are far more important than chasing the high of engaging in specific kinks.

      As for the protecting abusers line, that comes from personal experience. A good number of the “influential” people in my local community are known to be abusive, both emotionally and sexually. One was outed to have violated consent and assaulted at least 5 women, but he’s still around and his victims have all but disappeared, purely because he’s well known and liked. It’s the same everywhere I’ve been, online or offline. If you have power, you’re untouchable. Of course that’s not limited to doms, I never said it was. I’m well aware that subs are just as capable as doms (or switches) of being disgustingly abusive and manipulative, people are complex and there’s no clean divisions on things like that.

      Final note, I’m tired of the “don’t like, don’t look” mentality on here. SL doesn’t have adequate filtering to not see very upsetting things regularly if you engage with anything beyond vanilla sex, or even if you’re just into vanilla. There is no amount of precautions I can take to not see cnc, bloodplay, amputation, or any number of edgeplay kinks on the MP front page, MP searches, place searches, in-world malls, etc. There’s nothing I can do to avoid “triggering” content if I want to still engage with bdsm on SL with my partner, because it pervades the entirety of kink on the platform. You know what I get if I exclude “blood” and “rape” from my search results for “bdsm” on the MP? Mostly collars, gags, chastity belts, some slappers/spankers, and a handful of other light bondage equipment. Basically all heavy bondage, sex animations, light bruises, hickies are all excluded. Wanna take a wild guess why that is? That’s right, anything excluded from the search is tagged with “blood” or “rape,” or it’s listed as a related product to something that is. Even then, those things will slip though because people don’t tag their shit properly. I’d LOVE to just ignore those topics like I do on every other platform I’m on, but I’m not given the space to.

      • If that is truly what you meant, then you need to reword your “secret” – that isn’t at all how it came out. Reading through the comments, I am not the only person who took it that way.

        Its all well and good to say that you’ve been in the lifestyle since you were 18, but honestly, I don’t even know how old you are, so that doesn’t mean much to me. You could be 22 for all I know, and that doesn’t allow for a lot of experience. RL, I am 51, and I have been in the lifestyle since I was about 20. So roughly, 30 years, both RL and online.

        You do make some good points – we should not be “shut up you vanilla bitch” – but to be honest, I have not seen a single person in the groups that I have been with, say anything like that. In fact, the general mantra that I have seen tends to fall more around, “Your kink is not my kink, and that’s okay!” – and yes that can tend towards vanilla persons as well. In fact, we like to know that people have actually had vanilla experiences before getting into the lifestyle. People need to experience vanilla before they can have an understanding of kink. To reverse that really doesn’t make sense.

        I would also point out that if you are triggered by things, you should probably not be searching for edgeplay keywords. I’m not sure what keywords you are looking at, but I have had no problems at all finding actual BDSM stuff that has nothing to do with edgeplay. The BDSM club that I own is full of them. Not to mention, on SL, if you have a good Dom/sub relationship, you don’t NEED “toys” – its visual eyecandy. That’s all. True Dom/sub connection has nothing to do with that at all. Yes, its fun, and yes its fun to look at/interact with – but in the grand scheme of things, its a pretty small piece of the pie. And yes, I realize its the only way that some people can get that “physical” interaction – I’ve been collared to the same person for over 10 years now, and he’s in another country. Trust me I get it.

        Conversely, I would say that if you find things that are tagged with things that shouldn’t be, that you need to take that up with the creator. That is their doing. Its the same with clubs that use BDSM keywords, that have nothing to do with BDSM at all – just a way to get traffic in. It isn’t the fault of the BDSM community as a whole, by any means. Along these lines, I do agree that LL needs to come up with a system that would disallow keywords/tags for things that don’t fit your item/place.

    • It really is! I don’t know about others but I couldn’t stand it when I wanted to wear two of my favorite appliers but couldn’t because of limited space. But to each their own. I know some heads don’t have bom support yet.

      BOM: one image to upload per color that works for almost every head/body.

      Applier: build applier for each brand and/or Omega plus import appropriate pictures to label each button on the applier.

      If the makeup/tattoo/clothing doesn’t need materials, isn’t glowing, or a nail applier, then BOM is the better option.

      • Yes, yes, and yes! Trying to figure out how to create appliers for MULTIPLE heads was pure hell. If I put one out for Catwa, I’d have someone jumping down my throat about leaving out Omega because nobody wanted to just buy the omega HUD. Same with genus and lelutka. Long story short it was incredibly overwhelming and I stopped making appliers (mine were shitty anyways but it was something that I was passionate about haha) because I couldn’t stand having to remake all of the buttons and HUDS. BOM is a literal life saver. Sure it sucks that you can’t adjust the opacity of certain things but most creators have the common decency to add multiples.

    • When all the stuff I have bought over the last couple of years and makes my avatar the way I want her are updated to BOM then I will change. Until then I’ll do what I want.     • I use BOM on everything except lipstick since you can’t change the intensity with BOM. I like being able to make a color a little more subtle which you can do with an applier lipstick.

      • Only if they are modifiable, and they aren’t always; depends on the creator. That also will have zero effect on the intensity, as you can’t change the transparency level even if you tint, and that’s what they were saying. You shouldn’t correct people when you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Now I was up front and honest with him and told him I have an alt and I do bad things on it, his response “I don’t care.” He lets me do things on my alt with other people and he doesn’t care, this is also the same man that doesn’t care that I have a master on my main account, and he’s partnered to my main account. The way he sees it is that they can do anything they want with me in second life but he gets me in real life. We’re very secure in our relationship and he knows there’s nothing that’s going to change that and we’ve been together for 8 years.

    For the most part they probably liked the idea of you but probably just want to be playing around and move on to the next person, you never know.

  41. #6 yeah these designers don’t realize that they hide stuff I want behind fatpacks, and a lot of the time I just decide not to buy the fatpack because I know someone else will eventually make something similar with the same color/style that won’t be gated. the only time I really go for fatpacks anyway is when there’s different trim/accessory color options that are only available with the fatpacks (such as multiple lace trims or laces or jewelry)… that’s the real point of a fatpack IMO should be customization, not basic colors or 2-3 cheap pattern textures

One release I was gonna buy had the pink in the advert and I wanted it so badly, but only being in the fatpack thing just made me not buy any colors of it. Fatpacks are great for those who want to wear a bunch of colors, not for people who just want one color. It’s her choice to do it and that’s fine. I just won’t be shopping there which I’m sure others will so it will be no loss to her.

  52. 1. This is funny but they are making changes as we speak. Yes there’s too much kid roleplay. Cc looks like one big ageplay town because of it. Especially with the child avatars dating each other and some being married to their rp brother or sister in real life. But I digress.. Cc is trying to do large scale roleplay more. I can’t say much has changed in other areas. I just hope they keep paying attention to surveys and suggestions because it’s still a good community. The “homophobic racist hospital employee” is Angel AEON (angell.aquila) so no other hospital workers should get tied to this. The people who talk to her are desperate for friends, her talking to herself on alternative accounts, and new people who don’t know any better. Same goes for the club.. mostly just new people show up there. There’s no secret that Fox Hollow is blowing Cc out of the water when it comes to roleplay, the roleplay job market, lack of “Karen” types, and fairness but let’s see what changes are in store before we keep judging Cc. Every town has problems

    • I mean, I personally know people working on making more rp opportunities, being events and other rp spaces, like the Last Stop 21+, two grocery stores were placed back in HV and Spring point to give people those. The events team have been adding more IC events to help people. The lack of variety of events is simply it’s sometimes hard to plan out IC events that you can make work on a short notice. There are plans that need made and items procured. Those who have ideas are both welcome to voice them to the team ((both are very open and friendly and actively looking for suggestions)) or come join the team, they are hiring.
      Complaining on a sit like this doesn’t fix things. Heck do as I have, want to see a change? be a part of the change. Quit sitting back and complaining.

        Cc managers stop twiddling your thumbs waiting for people to apply for jobs. Jump in there and get your hands dirty. Throw some events, set some fires. I know your team is trying but you can’t lean on residents and citizens to make the town fun. That’s your responsibility. That’s what people pay for. – People who keep being associated with racism and homophobia are bad for the image of the town. – Listen listen listen to suggestions and be open to new things. It’s 2021 and change is good. – Some people don’t find child avatars cute so find a balance – The events team works hard but are short staffed so jump in and help them with YOUR town – Stop asking for suggestions just to ignore all the suggestions

        Just for the record The Last Stop was fun but it doesn’t ever open anymore and the grocery stores are back and hiring so that’s a start and don’t be afraid to take ideas from Fh because they took from Cc when they were first starting

      • Fox Hollow is too advanced and progressive. They should feel insulted to be compared to Cedar Creek. :-] Cedar Creek has the Blue Lives and Red Lives Matter flags decorating their applications and racists and their alts running rampant. They lost.

      • Cedar is a fun place and so is Fox, but it tends to revolve around “cops and robbers” rp or fire rp. It’s good to an extent but when it’s just alts of cops/firefighters doing it to get rp maybe just don’t. Instead ask the criminals of town to set fires, they don’t have to get caught but it would be better than what normally happens. What people like to see if regular rp with townspeople, rp in small groups, and with all different walks of people. I rp at both sims and a few others as well and all sims will have issues, that’s life in sl.

        You’ll have many who want to constantly say, ” You’d not be able to do that in rl!” and to those people, chill the fuck out, it’s roleplay. I could stand back and say, crimes and fires don’t happen like this in a small town community day in and day out in rl, but I don’t cause it’s not worth the fuss. Those in management in both sims, you all need to stop feeling so high and above people who support your sims and rent from you. That doesn’t mean all management on these sims are like this, just some.

        Cedar, your events team needs some live music again cause it’s been a long while since you all had that and it’s nice. The little events are fine but don’t stack too many together because it becomes annoying then and when people are at these events it’s like silent sometimes. I really love both sims and I agree with some of the things listed above, like managements need to get out and rp with people, make it known that you’re approachable and fun. Stop relying on the police, sheriff, and firefighters to support the town and try to turn the town’s foundation into it’s residents (Cedar).

        So many times it seems like people get irritated when they have to rp more than putting out a fire, catching a bad guy/girl, or just being more detailed and knowing that it’s ok to be the loser in an rp. Just because people are cops, doesn’t mean you need to be shitty to people with attitudes. If you want the people of your town to desire to rp with cops then the cops need to be approachable in normal rp and in dynamic rp. Often I see people get mad for just having poor communication and not understanding a post.

        All rp sims have cliques, and it’s hard not to when you rp with your friends day in and day out. Be open to new people, and those of you who are new, ease into rp and learn to start out small and get bigger. Don’t try to come into a sim and become the god of this or that. That’s a turn off and if you cannot accept a loss then perhaps rp isn’t your strong suit. Cedar, Fox, and other sims…you all need to start giving lessons in rp to help some people post more than one line if they intend on roleplaying. Some want to, but need a mentor.

        So here’s a big one and perhaps slightly un-popular, but here goes. Discord…roleplay and communication about in world things really needs to be done in world. Use roleplay group chats, local chats, and stop having closed session voice chats about on-going roleplays cause it’s Meta in many ways. We all know the people get in discord and discuss all kinds of things about rp that should be handled in world. As long as things are ooc that’s ok I guess, but why have rp on discord, google sheets, and other things?

        Ending here as I seem to have went on more than I wanted to, all these sims are good and constantly evolve. Sometimes one sim might be better than others and then in a few months it changes. We’ve all seen this with many sims and I don’t think any of these sims are failing or will close any time soon. I wish you all the best, and none of these opinions above were meant to hurt people’s feelings or bash a sim. Have fun everyone cause there’s enough drama in rl to have it in a rp game that’s meant for fun.

      • I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. Good post. It would be nice to have other roleplay outside of the fire and police department and the hospital. It gets old pretty fast. I especially agree with live music. It’s easy to find SL musicians in groups and from past events. It’s also pretty simple to book them and the small events get ridiculously annoying. The nice lady who is the principal of the school did large events every weekend and they were excellent. Tons of live music. I miss that. I understand the events team is busy and there’s not many of them so this is where management should jump in and help

      • The problem is Live music costs and Events policy is one Large costing event per month. And small events are our ways of trying to give you guys RP that isn’t police, fire or hospital. Until yesterday there was two events team and one has a very busy RL so her times were limited. the town is one large prop to allow RP. heck even buildings that dont have live staff, if you have friends you an NPC a bartender or something, you can still have a fun time jut sometimes you have to get creative. Post your RPs in township and others may come join you.

      • Does Cedar Creek not make money from their residents? People pay for events. That’s why it costs so much to live in a rp sim. Give the people what they’re paying for. Events should be big. Small roleplay should be just that, small roleplay. That’s not an event

      • Those designs on applications will turn some prospective applicants away. Cc is only hurting their own community. A plain and neutral design, like with RL applications, would be smart. And Fh does work hard to be innovative and take suggestions seriously but it can look like a deserted town a lot of the time. Though their events are excellent

      • The problems associated with these flags aren’t the flags but the fact people do not know the real meaning. The “thin blue line” is a term that typically refers to the concept of the police as the line which keeps society from descending into violent chaos. The “blue” in “thin blue line” refers to the blue color of the uniforms of many police departments. It’s not blue lives matter..

        What does a thin red line flag mean? The thin red line flag was developed to show support and solidarity with fire service personnel and to honor injured or fallen firefighters. To assume otherwise just means someone wants it to be a problem. If someone is easily offended by those meanings, than maybe law enforcement or fire fighter rp isn’t for that person?

        Does it need to be on the application? Perhaps not but it’s SL and you’re going to see those flags and icons are police stations and fire stations on many sims. Often people just phish for a reason to have a problem or flame a sim and that’s your choice. Just have some fun instead of focusing time on something unproductive.

        So you see, it’s not a blue lives matter or red lives matter thing, it’s simply ignorance for the actual meaning. If you’re in law enforcement, firefighting, Ems, dispatch have your flag shown. Same as any other support group and hopefully people can get along without feeling the need to create a problem where one doesn’t exist.

      • The flag, the thin blue line has all gotten adopted by blue lives matter. No matter how much you research the history, today that it what it’s used for. Nowhere have a seen that flag irl (and I travel for work so I get around) until after the blue lives matter thing took off. That’s what it is used to symbolize in 2020 and 2021. Blue lives don’t exist and it was used to combat black lives matter. Thats another discussion that I’m not willing to have here. They can support blue lives all they want but it’s really not being business minded or professional. I’m thankful that my residence sim doesn’t make residents feel the managers agree or disagree with a political side.

      • I can tell you the flag with the blue line (for law) or gold line (for telecommunicators) has been around 15 years. Before that I never noticed it. Has it been co-opted for some cause that I think is a little over the top? Perhaps. The Gadsden flag is getting co-opted for some shitty cause too. It’s a shame when symbols are twisted.

      • The last stop is opening more once Jade isnt so busy with events. She’s trying to not compete with Indigo because the owners are her friends, so it’s hard to tell when she can open. Sadly her RL has made it so she can’t pay her bartenders more than just tips and once that happened the bartenders left. So it’s up to her to man the bar and do events and do detective work, and squeeze in rl at some point. And this isnt a manager, it’s Jade.

      • If people choose not to divulge that they are in a relationship in real life then that is that. As long as the game does not affect their real-life decisions with their partner. I am married in RL. I play second life as a form of socializing and I roleplay. However, I will not be intimate with another while my husband is home nor will I make it seem like my SL could lead to anything more. I am upfront and honest about my relationship in Rl though it is really no one’s business what I choose to do. When the game starts to affect RL then there is an issue.
        There is no victim, just people getting butthurt that they wanted to move past the computer game to real life. Yeah, it happens for some but not for all.

If you’re actually lying and cheating, then you’re not poly. That’s a pretty simple concept. That doesn’t mean that all poly people are lying, or that the idea of polyamory is an endorsement of cheating. A lot of people will TELL you they are playing SL too and have their own partners/role play/completely separate life in SL because they completely trust each other and all the other stuff they like to throw at you. The minute you ask to meet this so called RL/SL wife/partner just to clarify for yourself that yes indeed what you are being told is the actual truth and then it is up to you to make the decision if whether or not you will continue to pursue that kind of relationship with them, you don’t see them for dust.     • Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with open & poly relationships but people shouldn’t have to stop dating in SL due to other’s dishonesty. Married people know that they’re married. People who are in relationships know that they’re in a relationship. Unless it is mentioned; if it is not obvious, then others may not know that about someone. It’s stupid and unfair to go around assuming that people will just be fine with it. If everyone’s consented to it, cool. No problems or objections there. Communication is key however.

      I had a friend who wanted to start an open relationship with my ex and I. We were fine with it but when we asked her if her RL fiance consented to it, she said that he would never consent to such a thing. Hell, dude didn’t even know that we existed, or that while he was taking naps or at work, she was having sex with other girls in SL then hitting them up on discord. Out of respect for the fiance, we both told her that we didn’t feel comfortable knowing that her fiance did not and likely would not consent to it and left it at that. It just didn’t feel right. I guess it is what it is though. That’s just my 2 cents.

    • What does it matter what someone status is in RL unless you are looking to take things to RL. People got to be upfront about wanting RL at the start of an SL relationship .A lot of people see Sl as a game and they are just role playing a character in that game. Just by talking to people you should be able to determine what they are looking for ..ie are they open about their Rl..share photos.. voice..cam? If not chances are they dont want to mix RL and Sl

Take a look at her equestrian homestead, the sim name is called Quiet and is open to the public, unless she closed it due to being caught out. She copybotted what nexts textures for his Mayfair trunk and then manipulated said textures. There’s also dozens of other items on the sim she has copybotted, as well as her own skin so why hasn’t LL banned this stupid bitch yet? I know I’ll be reporting her directly to LL as soon as I am able to log in.

    • Sorry but if she isn’t selling these textures and instead using them to mod and customize things… you have no right calling her a bitch. Copybotting doesn’t hurt a creator unless the botter begins selling these textures as their own. I’ve taken pictures of walls and floors from plenty of buildings and uploaded those textures to mod the build to my own uses. I’m not gaining profit from that. You’re honestly just being salty. Leave her alone.

      • You don’t have rights to upload screenshots of copyrighted work unless you own the copyright. You may not be profiting from but you are still copyright infringing and if the creator figures it out, they can have it taken down via a DMCA notification. A few of those and your account will disappear from SL. Better to just ask the creator for the texture or permission to screenshot for modification surely and not risk your SL account.
