  7. I am so sick and tired of people saying that adults with kid avies are pedophiles. That’s not true at all, just because were adults and have kid avies doesn’t mean it’s for any sexual reasons. Some people in second life that do have kid avies do it because they have either had their childhood robbed from them from abuse, verbally, physical whatever and being a kid again reminds them of their innocence. Others do it because they want to remember what it was like when someone took care of them and made them feel safe and protected. I myself age down (not ageplay), for roleplay purposes but for my sl mom I will be a teenager for her because I had a horrible teenage years which I know most people say they do but mine was worse, being bullied all the time for everything and no one doing anything about it to help me which lead me to almost killing myself. Also teachers telling me I can’t do things and a case worker that was working with my dean of students and putting me in an in school suspension for everything I did. I would love to relive my teenage years if only to get back at the people who made fun of me. So there’s a BIG difference here.

    • The original is open again, yes, but still under different management, as Nanceee is not back in SL. Nice place, and it’s nice to see familiar faces again, both staff and guests, but the dance floor is WAY too big. They need to shorten it and put more space on the sidelines, and they need to put some furniture upstairs. It’s completely bare and very uninviting up there.

      • Actually that’s not entirely true under the 2003 PROTECT Act. Even virtual depictions of pedophilia are violations so long as it meets qualifications of the Miller Test (which is the key factor here).

        LL is based in the US, so material that qualifies as child pornography under these definitions is not allowed. The idea that there are consenting adults controlling the avatars is irrelevant.

      Here’s a fun Ghoul story:
      A few years back she decided point blank to stop rigging for Maitreya based on the fact that she herself didn’t like it. That’s fine and entirely her choice, but it wasn’t left at that.

      She then proceeded to become hostile to customers in her store group who would inquire if she was going to produce anything for the body anymore. She would follow up with shit talking the body and saying that anyone who used it was unattractive and just throw a baby fit in general over it. Several people were discouraged by this in the chat and left. Not to mention being antagonistic on Flickr about people who wanted fits for the body.

      There’s no problem with not wanting to rig for the body or have a dissenting opinion about it; but she was unprofessional and alienated people who’d been her customers up until that point who might have still supported her had she not handled it that way.

      Tl;dr: Ghoul is rude to people no matter if they deserve it or not. Don’t try to claim she’s not obnoxious in her own right just because she’s prone to showing her ass when she decides to have a strong opinion over something.

      • She quit them for a little while then started up again. The irony is, she was ride or die for Belleza and lately she’s only rigging Maitreya and Legacy for females. There’s of course nothing wrong with rigging to what will bring in the most coin for you, but it does make all the fuss she created before seem even more pointless.

      • Yes, I remember some ugly flickr drama when some of her Belleza customers asked her why she suddenly did not care about their loyalty anymore in dropping Freya/Isis from her releases, and she had a little self pity party about her health and not being well enough to sit still and rig for the bodies she previously claimed were the easiest and best to rig for, while doing the work she claimed took many times as long to release Lara only. It was totally, obviously about laziness and money, but her desperate need to find some kinda high ground instead of admitting it lost her several customers that day as well.

On both occasions, if she’d just been honest and professional about it, I think people may have been alright with the situations; or at least less put off and accepted them. And while I don’t doubt her sincerity in her bad feelings toward certain bodies, brutal honesty is not always the best direction to take your business. It’s 100% the holier than thou attitude she has about whatever her current convictions and opinions are that makes her come off as a bratty spoiled bitch.

        It’s a shame too, because when she’s not wound up in her bullshit, she makes some nice things like the transparent arms and matching tattoos.
