  1. She was claiming on that other gossip blog, that someone was pretending to be her and that all of the drama was started because of that person. Someone ended up pointing out that the person she was trying to blame hadn’t logged into SL for quite a few years, so it was hardly them. That is what that “real” stuff is about. (The person she was claiming to be pretending to be her, hadn’t logged in about 5 or 6 years.) *Translation* She was caught in another of her lies.

  3. I am always wondering how all those supposedly cheating folks find the time every week (or even every month) for an affair. Even if I sat on my arse all day with my PC (which I do anyway :D) and flirted hours away – most would run off screaming or feign mild interest. If I were somehow successful with one person, I’d have no energy to maintain few at same time. Hypotethisisng I were some poly debonair – still would eventually tire out (obligatory “I have poly friends!”). I find having one relationship hard work enough (in a good way but consuming) never mind the whole drama show shebang of cheating (I presume that poly people would just change my ‘one’ to whatever they fancy). Indeed it is why I read SL Secrets because it is a curiosity plus yeah gossip pft. Also I assume half is made just to stir drama or by the person in question which … still leaves us more cheating than on soaps.

    As for SL and digital copyright – it is … hard to spot who made what and no one ever seen work of every artist. Then we have artists not tracing all manners their work is used. You can, in theory file for removal but I am not sure if it would work for all products. Same as legal action is not always worth even pursuing and best case to research is Black Bantham whose whole portfolio is mainly prop artists RL models, models based from RL photos (I recall a koala mesh taken … from a tutorial on how to make 3D models from photos – both software and photo were the author’s yet Black Bantham sold the model no problem). I also know artists they snatched stuff from that are mainly UK based and thus far … zilch been done despite even their co-workers writing to Lindens. Star might have more luck being USA based if he chooses to pursue whomever made that buuuut he’s been guilty of similar if I recall and hell, I could be wrong but he once was on SL (I could be wrong but that was way before he released any music).

    • @Pocketsand – Don’t bother. Everyone has said the same thing, over and over. Sam is determined to keep causing as much drama and stupidity as she can. In her mind, she is famous and she loves to be at the center of the drama, despite her claims to the contrary. I’m suspecting she’s full of bs about being in any rps, since there cannot be anyone that idiotic to allow her on their land and open the door for this drama whore.     • I agree fully with you and even then, she probably wouldn’t stop. She’s addicted to getting attention and causing drama. I would not be surprised to hear another drama break out due to her causing some shit storm to happen, in the next couple of weeks. That seems to be her pattern. Things die down, she acts up.     Excluding the flat out theft, and the copyright infringements, (is that the correct word?), Why does t matter to anyone else how a person chooses to spend their time in a virtual world?

    If blank 1 wants to sleep with 10000 people on sl, how is that anyone’s business but their own?

    If blank 2 has 50 kids in so, why does it matter?

    If blank 3 is a female ( or male) in rl but portrays themselves as make (or female) in so, how is that your business? The only people it should matter to would be her/his closest friends and those people should respect their wishes and privacy.

    And last, and this one in my mind is disgusting, just to make that crystal clear but…..
    For the people with kinks, that are likely not your personal kinks, wouldn’t you rather them do them in sl, than in rl? With consenting adults, who knowingly sign up for whatever weird kink they are into?

    • I actually bought one of their hairstyles, and not by fault. I agree it’s kind of bad in terms of hiding your head skin, but you can wear it with the help of a good hairbase. I for one happen to like the colour, and it goes well with my kinda plumpy redhead avie.

You get literal fatpacks, and you get them far more frequently than a lot of groups who tout the claim of monthly gifts and drop off the face of the earth for a year. The cost to join is less than the normal cost of ONE fatpack. Honestly, do what I did and just mute the group. You get to keep getting free shit, and you only have to see the dysfunction if you truly want to.

As for the frequency of the gifts, it has really dropped down, though to be fair, Truth Hawks switched jobs and his time is more limited now. The direction though that they are going in, I’m not a huge fan of it. The older styles are nicer in my opinion, instead of this alpha hair that they are out with now. The other group that is actually cheaper than Truth’s and has a good frequency of gifts is No.Match I have been seeing. She is good for gifts and I think her group is only 50L to join.

      • I love the new truth hair, fits me perfectly and I rarely have any alpha conflicts. His decision to put out so many updos right off was wise, imo. The edges of the hairs tend to look and fit better than some others doing updated alpha stuff (Foxy, Sintiklia) especially at the back of the neck.

        As far as the frequency of gifts dropping goes- I’ve always thought it was kinda tacky and entitled to make demands of creators for gifts, even if at some point they thought they could keep up with a new one monthly. The group join fee shouldn’t make people feel like the terms under which they joined can never change. This is SL ffs. People should look at group gifts as bonuses, not expectations.

  51. The whole Maitreya thing I could care less about, I wear Maitreya and I couldn’t care less if there’s an update or not. If she does one she does one if not oh well. I will still support Maitreya and wear the body every day. An update though would be nice but like I said if it happens it happens if not oh well.       At any rate, most work is overwhelming and tiring, and these creators are expecting people to spend real money on their virtual goods, so it’s OK if their work actually feels like work sometimes. If they would stand up for themselves and admit that Maitreya body is a shit body to fit and rig for, that the dev kit is garbage, and only rig for bodies that make it easier, we would all see a sudden influx of things made for other bodies and a steep decline in Lara releases in general, let alone exclusives. The Walmart of mesh bodies rolls on with too much cheap and complacent momentum behind it to stop until that happens.

      • Yes, I know you have to make your shoulders unrealistically narrow to resolve the issue. I did demo it, since the lower body is so nice, but ultimately those weird arched shoulders I could not get over, nor could I accept having to have them squished up way more narrow than my hips, since that is not how human beings are built at all.

  58. 26? I’d still stick with Maitreya. I’ve spent countless dinero on items for Maitreya for many years and the deformer only works so much. Second, you have to constantly remember, I have to put the deformer, or no not for this. With my particular skinny body it still looks decent. I’ve tried and I’ve actually bought the Legacy but I barely tell a difference besides the shoulders, and hands. Second, I mistakenly bought Classic due to their ridiculous store and couldn’t get my refund or even an apology back (I have Slink Hourglass as well). So I personally still think Maitreya is the way to go. Honestly, everyone jumped the boat for a company that has had past experience of customer issues and lack of support, goes to show you what we as women really care about. We don’t care if the company has defrauded us in the past, has been bad at customer service, as long as we look good (aesthetics), we go for it. Do you really think that Legacy is going to get updated in two years when some new advancement comes in? When the technology within sl also changes? Because every year some new LL change or patch introduces something, animesh, bento, bom, etc. Do you recall how many updates TMP had along those years? Maitreya may not have jumped the gun and given you an update one month after something goes in, but she did right? TMP didn’t. Good lord, you pay 5000 for a body that may never get updated because you like all the changes. Yet, realistically there aren’t that many. At best it’s work 1k over the asking price of a Maitreya, but what you are paying for is the ego of that company. If they think they are so great, they may as well not bother working with SL and work mesh within real life businesses and get the money. Lol. Let the Legacy bitches that defend it come in and shoot me down.

    • It doesn’t say anything in that secret about Legacy. Maybe the message is simpler, people are tired of always waiting for Maitreya to update her body. The creator has dropped the ball on this body and needs to get her ducks in a row and start keeping up with updates a little more.

        There has been an update in the works for quite some time now. First of all, because nothing crucial was broken or malfunctioning, we felt less pressure to release an update fast. Our plans for the next update were based on your requests for things to be added to Lara and on some new ideas we had for the mesh body. We came across some unforeseen obstacles that challenged us, but we feel we are in a better position now to move forward.

      • Customer’s do not care about the behind the scenes. They want updates fast. I get that, I work in the project world in real life. It’s why they created the agile project management model. Create a burnout chart, work on what’s crucial first, and little by little work on the rest. Maitreya’s working on waterfall structure which is the traditional route. You work on a body, you read customer feedback, you create a soft delivery date, you then start to work on the body but you start to see that coding or in this case graphics design takes longer to work on some aspects, and it may break others. I get that. It’s why I’m actually defending Maitreya. Because I see way too many times that projects go in in a premature state or not fully analyzed because customers (meaning the business within a financial organization) want it, and then they end up with defects which they bitch and whine and complain about but could have been minimized or altogether removed had we had more time to develop it. Which is why some developers tend to prefer release cycles over constant small project release.

        Bottom line, people have ants in their pants. Some of them because they are seeing the new toy called the Legacy. Flashy, pretty, expensive, elite, because of that price level you believe it is. They sell it quite well mind you. You have friends that buy it and gush about it. You have others that have Slink or Belleza and do the same. However, the Legacy body users are the ones that most gush (all of my friends did) more than the Slink owners and the Belleza owners. So of course, these Maitreya owners are seeing all of their friends gushing and talking wonders and they are seeing that to them Maitreya hasn’t updated. They haven’t provided BOM, even though some of them do not use it, they want more alpha layers, they may even want better shoulders and hands, more detailing in feet, etc. Etc. Things that I’m not aware of. So their desperation increases, they want an update it like yesterday, this is too much this wait is so long (Their mind). Then they switch to another one. Of course, those in those bandwagons love that.

      • I really don’t even care for an update from Maitreya. I was able to get my BOM relay and have been fine.
        I’m talking as a consumer though. I know how people behave, I used to analyze it and provide strategy on it, before I realized I preferred to work with the financial systems and not financial analysis. Thing is that most customers think similar based on age, demographic, and environment. They behave similarly as well. For instance, a retailer that markets itself for higher end markets will yield more Debit card transactions than one that markets itself toward a lower end market, where credit cards increase. We work in patterns, we do not want to admit it because we think that we are all special and unique, but we really aren’t. Even my own behavior is not mine exclusively. I’m a Maitreya Owner, yet I bought Slink Hourglass to test, and to use for some photographs. I have Legacy as well. Again, I am a pattern. I’m more on the, “I use these new bodies for images, while I use my old body because I have forked more money into products for it” pattern.

      • Because not every company or creator updates right when it comes out. This is the same as many corporations could have gone for Oracle R12 for financial processing but opted to stay with Oracle R11. Of course, once Oracle stopped offering support for R11, the brand had to update their systems and pay for the package. In other words, it could be budget, time, constraint, conservative mindset. There’s the conservative mindset where you allow other users to go first, and they are the ones that face the beta-testing issues, then once the system is good, you then go in. This is debated even in real world business strategies.

      • The reason I connected it is because I do check that hud where you can see what avatars are wearing, and I have notified a significant influx of Legacy bodies. Thus, my thought pattern is that more than likely the poster to that comment is a Legacy body wearer, or one that’s about to jump the ship to that one.

        Bodies are to the eye of the beholder. YOU may dislike it. It doesn’t mean that your opinion is correct, nor that mine that it is the best body is. I do not necessarily, nor did I ever say that it was the best body. I did however say that I had forked countless money into items for it and thus want it. I prefer to look slender within SL and thus, Maitreya fits the bill for me. So does Legacy. However, regardless of it being under new management or not, their history is not a good one and let’s put it frankly in real world terms. I do not trust a retailer that has deceived, not supported, or quite frankly has decided to not provide customer service for their item in the real world. Why would I give them the chance in the second?

That being said, the majority of Slink users that I know, modify it to an abnormal, not realistic for the most part shape. Tiny waist, huge hips.       • Well, hold on. I’m a Catwa user but I see it’s limits. Catwa heads for the most part look like children. That I was able to create a shape for my Kathy head where I look like an adult and someone in my late twenties was a miracle. Most Catwa users look like teenagers. The nose also tends to be smaller and harder to actually get to look larger. So I get why people dislike the heads.

        In my case, I find the head is a much more valid fight. Since that is really what makes you, you. Women all have breasts, thighs, and a butt. It shifts based on who that person is but we all have it and it looks similar. Just different sizes. However, the face is what makes you, who you are. So I find that to be a much more complex fight. I use Catwa, because I got what I was looking for by editing a face almost to the point of no recognition. Actually most used to ask me if I was using Catwa because they couldn’t tell. But because of this, I can tell you they have way too many limits and are overpriced. I used to love my Akeruka Lara except for her eyes, she looked interesting. Gorgeous but in a way where she looked different. Not like a child, but much more like the character of Irene Adler in Sherlock the show. Interesting. Sexy. Femme Fatalish. I did not want to look like a Lolita. Now I look like an older Sansa Stark, and I’m fine with it. She’s a pretty actress.

      • Idk, I’m a Catwa user and I look like an adult; then again I didn’t choose a head with the built in duck lips, and yeah the original shape for it is nothing like mine. It just takes the motivation and effort to customize a bento head into being unique and find a skin that actually shows that off instead of obscuring it by being too smooth, shiny, and young. Genus heads kinda make me laugh because they look pretty, but almost static; a lot people who have them stand around completely blank faced, sometimes not even blinking, then maybe throw in some random expression every minute or so. The realism of the face AOs and other animations for Catwa compared to that have me not even interested in Genus at all.

      • I tend to prefer Lelutka heads to be honest. However, I cannot get them to edit to the look I want. I use the Lelutka animation hud for my Catwa for faces. Usually to do funny ones with my friends as we joke around.

      • Every body I’ve used on my adult avatar has had something I love and something I hate. Maitreya doesn’t handle body fat well, eBody’s bento update did something weird to the shoulders, Slink’s butt is too bubbly and out there, Freya’s boobs are too big and floppy, Belleza hands react weird to bento animations, etc etc etc.

        There is no perfect body and most of what’s being complained about has nothing to do with the body anyhow – it’s the shape. I’ve seen Legacy, Maitreya, Belleza, Slink, etc etc all shaped to be tiny waist, huge butt, thigh gap for days, and 10 feet tall.

      • I agree with that sentiment. No one body is perfect, and none will be perfect. Within that, being that the primary body that I have built my wardrobe under, and the one body that to me still is good for the shape I have, is Maitreya. I do not quite care about the lack of updates. I already have applied BOM to it as I previously stated. However, what I do seem to see is that the Legacy camp is incredibly more defensive of their body right now, though the history of customer service within that company is abysmal. The body is a good one, I don’t see too much of a difference with my own. But, given that I am slender within sl, I do not think I would see much of a difference with any body for that matter. However, I know that Legacy wearers are pushy and want their friends to switch to Legacy. I see it within my group of friends. And that’s peer pressure, and teenager like. Which is why I give my opinion. I stick with mine, I prefer mine, I have hundreds of thousands of items within my inventory of which more than liky 70% is for Maitreya, the rest is for landscaping and decorating. Will I use the Legacy body once a week or so for photography? Yes. Will I stop using Maitreya no.

    • As consumers and creators you placed all your eggs in one basket. You allowed Maitreya to have a monopoly over all female bodies in SecondLife. Reports indicate that Maitreya held 80% of the body market at one point. Onyx made it nearly impossible to create for her body and you still pressured creators to make clothing for it. Many creators decided to only design for Maitreya and committed their entire brand to another brand. No fail safe and no back up. You have no one to blame but yourselves for this. Onyx could walk away from SecondLife and never return and now it’s on all of you to decide now if you want to continue to support this company.

      You have options to change. You could support; Slink. They are a brand thats always been their for their customer base. Has always offered fair pricing and works with creators to optimize their product but you don’t. The brand that was prepared at day one to offer full BOM support. You could try Belezza or Tonic. But you don’t go to those stores. In turn you turn to Legacy a company that comes and goes from SecondLife like the wind. A brand that has never had good customer support. A brand that created a body for 5K (TMP) and when they decided to update it renamed it and called it Legacy and charged you 5K all over again. Bad choices lead to bad results. I’ll be back in a few months when the Legacy creators leave again and you make infinite crying posts about it. Don’t believe me? Do your research on how many brands they were before Legacy. It may shock you. They have been scamming people for over 15 years.

      Do yourselves a favor. Go explore the other bodies out there. You may find that Maitreya is lagging behind more than just missing BOM.

      • TMP, The Shops at Armidi if I recall. I remember seeing one of those in marketplace years later after their sim closed. And I recalled reading customer service complains where people said that items weren’t being delivered and other things. Mind you, this was right when mesh started and their old prim clothes was no longer in use. I may have forgotten the full name of The Shops. Someone else probably remembers more. I knew TMP and Legacy were the same, but someone else connected them to Armidi for me recently. I probably knew it before, but forgot.

        By the way, I know they said they were under new management. But i could have a brand in sl, I could then open new accounts and state it’s new management.

      • Gather round the fire as we tell the tale of Naughty. Get comfortable and warm your hands. Welcome welcome. In the early days the villagers of SecondLife praised Naughty. They were so popular the sim would fill and you’d have to wait to get in. Much like these events you young people insist on supporting today. One day Naughty had a going out of business sale and the villagers cried. A short time later, Armidi appeared. It was a glorious sim of many designers and the names were inspired by real life brands. Armidi was a place to shop and gather together similar to our fire here. At the same time another brand appeared to attract the male villagers Abyss. As time passed the brands became less popular and closed. To great surprise the team emerged again with a store called The Body Co. It wasn’t as successful as the previous brands. Then the old brands resurfaced as The Warehouse. The villagers rejoiced at the collection of old items at discount prices. Then both closed. There was a brief less documented time the team opened a puzzling shooing experiqnce called The Shops. It faded away. Again the team resurfaced as The Mesh Project or as you young people call it TMP. TMP was popular. Then the evil Maitreya came in and stole their thunder! In response the team closed up and disappeared. Then suddenly as they left they returned as Legacy. So… as you see. The Naughty team has existed since the great dawn of the virtual world of SecondLife. As an elder these are the brands we are confident that Naughty has developed. They may be involved with other brands as well unknown to our great and vast knowledge of the SecondLife shopping world.

      • The Shops, was the one that had a marketplace listing. I think it was probably more than no one was manning it. Which is why deliveries weren’t being made. During that time we had to keep a marketplace box in land to link sl to marketplace.

      • Slink would be the same. Does she not have a hud? Does she not more than likely keep the servers for that hud in tact? In other words, should we even bother with mesh bodies? Considering that the hud system is not 100% reliable and if creators leave it could stop working.

      • Again, if you have spent years itemizing and creating for your Maitreya body and it works. Why move? Same as if you have Slink and you have spent for the Slink body. Why move? I personally didn’t see anything wrong with that body. Yes, from the creator perspective they are hard to get the creator package. However, if creators only catered for Maitreya that’s on them. They wanted to chase the money and only rig to Maitreya not my fault. Some creators do. Support those.

        And yes, I speak as someone that was always privately bitching that my old face, the Akeruka Lara never had appliers for it, yet I loved that face. Eventually I moved to another one because i liked it as well and Aurealis made a very good skin for it where it looked completely different to the vendor, so I jumped for it. But I understand having an item that doesn’t fully have creator support.

        I knew people like you would comment. I made a comment, much like anyone else does, and everyone has free speech. Because last I checked this game was made in the USA. Where anyone can speak their mind and say shit like yours. Everyone can also make a mistake, however when there is marketing and packaging that leads people to need to seek help from someone else to buy an object or to actually go customer support, or to actually buy the wrong body, that technically means that the store’s presentation is what sucked and is ambiguous not to say it’s done on purpose. Why sell the classic body anyway? It’s outdated, no store supports it currently. Why have that within it’s vicinity. Someone unaware, that’s not spending 40 hours a week within would not be aware of the difference, they’d think it quite possibly could be an advertisement if the other signs didn’t fully rez on the side of the main ad.

        I bought it but not to replace Maitreya. I bought it to wear it for some pictures. Get it? I did that too with Slink Hourglass. That doesn’t mean I absolutely hate it. Nor does it mean I went to buy it to replace my Maitreya. You know, people can buy multiple bodies for whatever reason they so desired. I do what I want, with the money I work for. Get that?

        A few others? Please, look into SL Forums, please look into other places. You will see that many other SLrs complained about the TMP lack of support and were incredibly pissed off with them over Legacy. I’m not new in SL. I may have forgotten some things because I wasn’t quite head deep in the world of creators and I really do not have all the time to remember who did what, and whom else did this, and who is two-timing someone else. I have enough within real world, so I usually drop by every once in a while to read up on things and stay somewhat current.

        No I do not, my particular field of work is within the financial realm. I worked for ten years with it. I know how much companies can lose over deceptive merchandising, and how a good company actually does listen to customers and changes their website fronts. Mind you, within the real world, credit card disputes are actually used to retaliate against companies. In SL you can not do that. Thus you are subject to a retailer’s rules and cannot arbitrate for your funding.
        If you work within Finance, accounting, etc, you very well know that 20 dollars is not the same as 5 dollars, which you are equating it with within your commentary. It’s the price of some games within real life. This is from someone that spent hundreds of thousands of Lindens and by that I meant several trips to Europe on sim owning. Since I found that to be a great stress reliever for me in the form of landscaping and decorating. By the way, I may use Legacy correct? That means that I paid $40 dollars, for 1 body., In essence, I’m not going to use the Classic. I haven’t even opened the package. Thus, again. I do not complain about the $20 I spent on the body I wanted. I complain because their advertisement is confusing when it not only impacted me and my sale, but also has caused my friends to get confused and need to seek help to buy it. And these are real world professionals within Advertisement fields and other professional fields. Again, if it’s just one person within a group that gets confused, then that’s on that person but when almost everyone needs help and needs someone else to take them to the store, that means something.

        Considering you assumed I was stupid, and also didn’t earn that much money. You are flat out wrong. But then, you think you are high and mighty and that I do not have the right to make an opinion, but you do because again. This thing you claim is entitlement goes both ways. I made an opinion.         Let’s fact check real quick… legacy sells the classic body and legacy body on TWO different floors. You have to click a hud a series of times to get to one or the other. They probably still sell the classic because like you pointed out, not many people might not have enough for legacy so they settle for the older model that might work for them. Now if you and many others still went to their store and paid for the wrong body DESPITE their media hud literally teleporting you to the correct destination, then that’s a shame on you.. maybe you should have used your eyes and not your ass to read what you were spending your valued money on. Maybe you should have taken some of those people who whore around sl, they could have helped you pick the correct body.

        The classic was $5K. Sorry, but it wasn’t discounted. It was the exact same price. As for the two floors, when you come in if you turn around the signage for Classic begins. I went there after, and I analyzed their setup. You start in, and you go into a main floor that is circular. On one side you have Classic signage, on the other you have Legacy. If you by mistake turn around you begin the experience of Classic. And they do not specify Classic body. They named it The New Classic. In the middle, with the term Turn for Legacy on the sides. If you do not realize it, or if the two signs on the sides do not properly rez for you and are still blurry you make the mystake of clicking either Women or Man.

        By the way, the fact you know it is two floors leads me to believe that you are actually the store itself trying to defend yourself. Since the actual store is a white space with experience posters all over.

      • Even getting to the area of purchase, you have to click through their hud and look at the huge pictures+letters saying which body you are teleporting to. So yes they do clarify the body you are looking into to purchase. Hell the classic body is literally a 180 turn and the only thing in grey, also with huge letters letting you know this is the classic body.. God it’s like talking to a wall, everyone makes mistakes but to say you purchased the wrong body because that store is a mess sounds more of a situation where you just didnt read/pay attention to where you were going or buying. Hell even before purchasing something, you get a prompt from sl making sure you know what you are paying for. If after all these signs you still shout it’s the store fault, I feel really bad for you… so again since your blanket statement generalizing people who insult as insecure, I say once more… in conclusion you dumb.

      • If you get the experience you have a white screen. Thus any turn you make, you end up looking at the Classic area. Again, anyone, you are more than invited to see the actual store.

Unless you get out of the experience and cam around then you realize the store layout. If not, you think that it can actually be two areas within the same floor.

So please, since you know about how images and business should market, you should be in real working in the advertisement business earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in New York and not sitting here defending a store that has been historically said to be awful to shop at. It’s common knowledge that TMP and Legacy may have great products but they do not 1) have a good shopping experience and 2) do not have support for their items over large volume of time. And currently, they are being deceptive. I’m not stupid, I just am not the idiot that will buy an Apple phone that’s brand new because they claimed it has so many new items when in fact it only has one update. I value my money, my time, and I value most of all a customer service experience where at the very least they recognize me as humans instead of ignore me. Because guess what, I’m the one that gave them 40 bucks. They owe me customer service experience. By the way, the same shit is pulled in rl and they’d be out of business. And you know it. If you’ve ever worked in retail in your fucking life. You’d know it. SL allows for people to get away with shit and murder if they want, but in real life you could file a lawsuit or you can simply dispute against your Visa/Mastercard or American Express for Deception. Because to be quite frank, I knew they’d probably stick to their none written anywhere policy of no return for an item. But what I didn’t expect was their complete ignorance. Instead of at least apologizing and saying they’d take it back to management, they went on and on to try to ignore. Which by the way, proves that they knew they were in the wrong. No business should ignore their customer. It’s called respecting a customer. This isn’t about privilege. If you really are American you know that in American businesses you are supposed to respect a customer even if you personally disagree with them. If there’s an incorrect signage on the wall, you know that by regulation of that store you are to honor it unless the sign is for a pair of pants and they are coming for the complete opposite. You know that if the guest has a receipt and says that the item is deceptive, as long as they adhere to the policy and most stores do have a thirty day money back, they will refund you. Even if they do not refund you because of the rules, they do not ignore you, they will explain the policy and they would treat you as a human being and apologize. This isn’t a third world country where business can tell a customer to fuck off.

        If you are a business owner, oh god, I don’t want to ever step foot in your business. You don’t know one bit of how a store is supposed to work.

Unlike you, I wasn’t confused about their presentation, i was able to buy the bodies without a hitch, nor was I confused about what i was buying. They were marketing 2 mesh bodies, and their signs are pretty clear about it. Not to mention, the store and your viewer also gives you several prompts as to what you’re buying before you actually purchase. Now if you failed to read it, is it the creator’s fault, OR is it YOURS? See where I said I don’t need to assume that you’re stupid? This is exactly it.

        It’s been the policy of the majority of creators in SL that if you don’t read and buy, even by mistake, they are not liable for it. It’s YOUR mistake. Own up to it. If you’ve been in SL for as long as you say you have, then you should KNOW this.

        Classic sign is separate from Legacy sign that tells you to turn around. Read, and analyze what someone is telling you before you jump and claim you are much more intelligent than them. Second, where is the mention of body? You have to assume such. But if you are unaware that they have brought their previous body out with some updates and put it back on sale, you’d be lost. You may assume it’s like Slink Hourglass and Physiques, or you may be wondering if the signage changed. If in that split second where your screen turns white you turn around.

The classic sign is in muted colors whereas the legacy sign is vibrant. Your friend is definitely not in marketing and being the secretary for the department doesn’t count.

      • Read and analyze. I’m pretty sure you’ve never worked in Beta testing software or websites for consumers. You have to assume that the person may not go to the website or go to the store and everything will rez. When the actual New Classic sign is a separate entity to the Legacy signs beside it which may not rez at the same velocity for every computer there may be a situation where someone is seeing a gray side to the center sign. This is why they indicate that when you do marketing presentations and website, you do not hide behind a picture, you put clear language. The signage does not state body. ANYWHERE. If you log into the store, if you make a turn while the experience is on and you are seeing a white screen you start the Classic party.

        If you think you are genius, why don’t you try to recreate the scenario. Because clearly you are an expert in this. You must be someone with an IQ that’s beyond 130 right? And must be a manager working in marketing and end user products right?

        The funniest part of all this, I work with IT guys just like you where you think you know it all. And then you end up introducing a code that breaks and you wonder why. Because your ego and your thought is that everyone will behave the same, and that visuals and elaborating marketing signs is not important. Which by the way, pays a lot of RL salaries.

        They could have simplified and ended All confusion if they had put the word body within the signage in the main entrance within the same image of the body, which could signify a body or a shape within sl or a marketing sign for one. Again, if you’ve not been made aware by any outside sources that there is a Classic sign, how are you to think they are going to resell their old body? Clearly you are one of those that thinks the customer must have added knowledge than what any customer could have. And this is what flunks many of you in the real world business models and you end up having to do stores in SL instead of working in RL. Or you end up hating those teams that do system and user acceptance testing.

        Next time you make a transaction and the website behaves different to what you experience or you claim the marketing of the website was deceptive. I’ll repeat what you said to me, you are the stupid or dumb one. Shouldn’t you have sat down and analyzed it? it? ?

I am the one that knows how Visio works and creates Process Flow Charts as well as gives you as a business partner what you need, maybe not what you want. I’ve had quite a longer time period working within this field because I like to break code In fact, if you ever buy gift cards from the company I work in the whole website was tested by me as well as all of the journal entries payments trigger. Thus, I know how terminology is the key on commerce. An image alone does not always express the same to everyone and clear language is needed within marketing. Colors on a sign do not necessarily represent the same to you than to me. And no one is buying and trying to remember how symbolism works. You should know that. So the image is white and or black, okay, but if you never saw the Legacy ad, how are you to know that? The most anyone can do, is stop and ask. “Well I’m lost here, I need help to shop.” The moment a customer says that, the website or the actual store has failed. It’s slowing down a purchase and may potentially stop it. You should know that, since you must be some sort of Project Manager right? But if that customer does not know that there are two bodies. Is not defined by the word, “Body” within the concept of an actual website in real life, and is then buying the item thinking it is something else, that is a classic example of a future chargeback. And if it is a non-refundable item a future lawsuit for deception. This is actually the reason why websites are vetted by legal in most cases.

        In SL however, business can manipulate all they want. They can make a store as incredibly confusing as possible. Though, I can tell you that I’m pretty sure that none of the customers of Slink of complained about the store layout of Slink. However, there is quite a large volume of TMP and Legacy consumers that have said that those stores are. Just ask any group. You will see these replies.

I said it looked similar to Maitreya. Which is good. What I complained about is their history of customer service. Yet, the Maitreya haters come and claim it’s awful in every single aspect, and that their body is so far so much more superior than the Maitreya. Not once did I say Slink was bad. I said some people that wore Slink did the wrong ratio, but that can be said about almost all bodies. You guys on the other hand attacked and of course, don’t like it when it gets returned.

      • BOM is great. It’s not just system stuff. It can combine onion layers into 1 texture for less lag. Not to mention, it removes the need for onion layers all together for even more performance.

      • for the face i understand it with makeup but personally the body i only use a tat.. for me its pointless but for those who use it its included.

      • Even if you’re only using the tattoo layer it can clip closely fitted clothes, or disappear if anything you’re wearing is sheer or your alpha hair hangs over it; BOM resolves the alpha conflict issues.

      • Yes. Alice used to be really fugly, with a pelvis like a box, but apparently they decided to rework it and are hoping it’ll catch on having fixed some of its issues. It does look better now if you’re into a smaller, less curvy/more toned look. However I don’t see even the most prolific fruit-name creator fitting for it, so idk if the lack of support makes it worth it at all.

      • Yep. Her clothes are extremely laggy. Yet, people in her group chat posting SS with low/mid settings can’t figure out why their FPS is a slide show or her HUDs take forever to load. A pair of pants do not need 60,000 vertices. Inspect the HUDs and you’ll notice some of them use over 100mb of texture memory. ALL THE LOVE!! <3

    • Virtual fishing is not an “event.” It’s a fake traffic generator that keeps people on a sim to generate traffic that have nothing to do with the theme or purpose of your sim.

      • Causes massive lag and attracts fuggos with their outdated attachments, so you get visual lag on top of it until you derender everyone.

      • I enjoy Magic Fishing. My complexity is almost always under 30k and my avi is all mesh and I have over 100k L$. We all play this game for different reasons. I find it fun to fish in SL. There are a lot of newbs fishing but most of them don’t know how lag works. Most flexy hair only has about 10k vertices at best with under 8mb texture memory. Truth hair will have 100,000+ of vertices. Prim stuff is very low lag, hate to break it to you. Don’t believe me? Right click something someone else is wearing then click More > More > Inspect.

      • Really? Then how come every time I run into a 350k+ jelly baby avi and fully render them out of morbid curiosity, all they’re wearing is prims and flexi? A lot of times they are system avis. Rendering cost is obviously more than the number of vertices, and that’s just the graphical lag- I haven’t even gotten started on how laggy and inefficient those old scripts are, and those people don’t think to do things like make copies and delete resizers.

      • Complexity is broken. It needs to be based off of vertices and texture memory (things that actually cause lag). You can upload a high poly mesh and put 0 for lowest and low and cut the complexity by 80%, this is what a lot of stores do.

    • There is a wee bit of a difference between you and 4 of your current friends having your 5 alts standing around “fishing” and an actual event.

  60. Maitreya users complaining about waiting for updated bodies? How about the hundreds of Belleza, Ebody, Hourglass and now Legacy users who go through events and are limited on what they buy? Just about everything is rigged for maitreya.

      • Actually, I’m skinny but I do not dislike how Slink wears. I disagree with the Kardashian look however. The proportions are what I dislike about it. If you are very hippy, chances are that your waist is about 10 inches less than your hips as an hourglass. Not 20. Which is what I tend to see. You can edit that with sliders.

    • Just because people say its rigged for Maitreya doesn’t mean it really is. If it was we wouldn’t need to alpha out 90% of our bodies. They just slap that tag on it to try to get it sold.
      Personally I am leery of an update. Last time she did one she completely redid the weight system and none of the older clothing fit it properly anymore.

    • Sadly this is true. But as a few commenters have stated, the merchants and creators and beginning to make for other bodies. At the time Maitreya came out you had 2 choices. Slink and Maitreya. Then Belleza got in the game, Tonic and Wom Men came into it and other body creators, but at the end Maitreya is the one a lot went for. I did. Was it right that creators not make for the other bodies, no not really. But it is their choice.

      I like my maitreya body. I can go skinny or have a huge ass. Or I can make it how ever I choice. But even though I am cheap, these arguments are beginning to make me wonder if there is another body out there.

      And of course we are wanting updates. Who doesn’t like to be with the game then waiting for the catch up.

      • I do not recall Womeh, and while I did wait about 5 months to get the Maitreya when it came out to see what others found as glitches before I invested into it, I did check for all the bodies that were on the grid at that point. I remember Slink and Maitreya definitely. I also remember liking the Maitreya for my particular slim build.

      • Wowmeh came before almost all other adult mesh bodies (Kid mesh bodies came out before adult ones).
        I’m sorry but Maitreya really does not do chubby or curvy well. The hips look so freakin’ weird when you make them too large. A bit like the pants german pilots wore in ww1. And the pubic mounds deforms poorly if you dare even have the tiniest bit of stomach. It’s great if you want a skinny ass body that doesn’t look like a real person (yes even “skinny” people don’t have a totally flat stomach and someone with hips sure as hell will not) and that’s like a stick. But if you want to look like someone curvier then a coat hanger you should look to literally ANY other body. Sorry, not Sorry downvote me if you want. What can I say most of second life has the worst case of post-purchase rationalization when it comes to Maitreya that I have EVER seen. You all just can’t admit you put in a ton of money on an inferior product.

Lara is a barbie doll body and has just about that much definition- but even Barbie’s pelvis had a more realistic shape than a horseshoe. (Psst… Legacy has it too… weird, scooped out shape… idk if the creators are just completely unfamiliar with the female pelvis or whether they had to in order to use lara deformers. Either way, ugly and unfortunate.)

    • There is a big difference between looking for inspiration and copying the hell out of something. Evie copied this, almost to exact detail, with the exception of the eyes. It shouldn’t matter if it is from an SL creator or a RL creator. A creator is a creator and stealing someone else’s work is never right.

    • The only thing that was altered was the eyes on the backpack and the mirror. Everything else is a total copy of the RL merchandise. With that said, nothing will be done about it because the event owners will turn a blind eye to her doing this. As consumers though, we can refuse to buy this shit. Sadly though, there will be plenty of people who will buy it, who won’t care where it is from. The only person who could actually DMCA this would be Shane Dawson and I can’t see him coming here do that.

And a lot of these events are made by wannabes that think they are incredible and have a wonderful position in SL society, but then are just depressed housewives that have aires of superiority in SL. My thought? If you dislike a business, if you dislike a tactic, stop supporting them.

      All these people that put the images on virtual secrets. I don’t disagree with you there, but put your money where your mouth is. I do not support events, I do not support the creators with merchandises in those events. Once the items go into the mainstore, that’s when I buy it. And I would send a notecard to each creator you favor, and let them know that you would like to see the item in store and buy it in store. You’d support the store, not that event. Explain yourself and continue on, These new events aren’t even discounting items anymore. But if stores start to see that they aren’t profiting from their booths in those places, they will go for other events. Sadly, that’s the only way to really start going after events. They are opening more, and more of them and it’s gotten so ridiculous where you can no longer remember them.
