  3. I read this every week interested in designer issues. I’m unclear why people are having personal fights on this website. Everyone’s a whore and pedo. Honest to God, I only know some pretty fine people in Second Life. Yes, through the years, there was some unexpected drama, but overall, I love this experiment. Best advice is find some better friends.

    • Whoever screen shotted that is a moron. They literally took a picture of the same February post and are saying it’s both giveaways. NOPE. I won in the first one. Didn’t even enter the 2nd one. Dior Dior is dumb dumb.

      • Revoul posted the February screenshot saying that was the list of the winners of her last giveaway – asking people not to believe in rumors, she said she hide the giveaway post cause people were still joining – then she deleted the 3 posts (that were an answer she gave me when I questioned her). And blocked me – saved the image – I should have made a print screen. Now I am getting backlash on the FB Im cause I exposed the truth. If you want to get deceived, be happy. I won’t support them anymore. End of story. Removing the post from my page and moving on. and that is the TRUTH.

  5. #4. As a former Miss SL contestant, let me tell you what it is really like. The first year there was over 100s of entries. Some of them had to attempt multiple times to enter, because that is what they was looking for. A fabulous celebration of Beauty, Creativity and Talent! The first two years. The winners blogged. Was in magazines and made appearances all over the grid. They was exactly what Miss SL stood for.

    The first year, they had very good support with Ponche’. She HELPED several of the girls bring their looks up to par for what Miss SL was to represent. He (Marcus) made a fatal mistake in the very first year and that was bringing Frolic Mills to give criticism. He (Frolic) tore into the models so badly several of them was left in tears. Calling them ugly, fat, and bitches. Several of the girls from the first year, attempted the next couple of years. Even then, they was still not good enough to “win.” Most of them had resumes’ filled with modeling, styling and runway experience. Ponche’ left Miss SL because Marcus made her promises, and never kept them. Pretty sure one of them was a monetary promise.

    About the 3rd year there was a major change in how things ran. After each challenge, the girls would go to lengthy after meetings and be told they did horrible. Posing had to be “spot”on. Styling had to be very perfect. He would tell one girl one thing, and the group another. Most to the point that several of the girls would openly be upset and speak their minds. I will tell you….he hates that. Each year, the numbers of entries, lessens. The “REAL” models of SL are losing interest in losing to “newbies” with no talent, creativity or beauty.

    At one point, it was stated that after the contest was over he would release the scoring. That never happened. He claims that each year is going to be “better” than the last. Actually, they are every year, worse than the last.

    Miss SL 2015 Winner– Sinobu Istmal –Beautiful winner. Several blogs, several appearances. Displayed the meaning of Miss SL. Very high profile model.
    Miss SL 2016 Winner–Ivyana Szondi–Also the equivalent of what Miss SL stood for. Did several pictures and blogs for Miss SL Organization. Even helped with the 2017 contestants…..and that brings us to —
    Miss SL 2017 Winner– Rhiananna Janus was a joke. Sorry to say, but after she won. She completely disappeared. No one seen her at all after. No blog. No postings of anything that she did during her reign as “Queen.”
    Miss SL 2018 Winner–Sienna Bellios– According to Marcus she “was the perfect image to his Miss SL. ” However, NO one seen anything she did. No blogs postings. No Magazine covers, no interviews, NOTHING. She stood up on that stage and pretty much lied to everyone about how “great” being a “Queen” was.
    And that brings us to–
    Miss SL 2019–Dara Quinn-who is she? No one has any clue, except she isn’t anything that would say, Beauty, Creativity, or Talent.

    All I have to say is before you decide to enter into this contest next year, think really hard about the time, money and reward. You will spend hours styling, to be told it isn’t good enough. You will spend 1000 upon 1000s of lindens getting the “right” style. The reward? Just a title and a crown. There is absolutely NO money to be won, no prizes of any kind, by winning.

    And one more note. Yes. His “husband” is really a woman in RL. He (Marcus is a gay man, married to a RL female)

    • Which brings me to another issue that you brought up. What pageant owner would ever in his/her right mind praise one winner over all the other winners publicly and also tell everyone she was the best winner the pageant ever had??? Wth was that? What a slap in the face to each and every previous winner. While I don’t quite understand the praise bestowed upon Sienna or how she ever won to begin with, all Marcus had to do was comment about her wanting to do more charity work during her reign and how it pleased him or how successful it had been. What a moron!

      • He has always openly praised one over the other. He thinks his pageants are the best. Yet, I have been to several smaller pageants that are far beyond the expectations he has set for his. You honestly get back what you give in. He doesn’t give anything. Therefore you get, just what you have in this pageant. A young, inexperienced girl, who has no clue whatsoever what is in store for her. She looked like she should have been in the Young Miss and Mr. SL, instead of Miss SL. I don’t know her, nor do I really have anything personally bad to say about her. I feel sorry for her. She stood there when she won, because she had no clue what to do. As a winner she should have taken center stage, and completely stood out from all the others. She was motionless. There was nothing special about her at all.Everything about her styling was so very simple, showed no creativity at all. Her formal gown, was straight out of the box. Very little to no jewelry to enhance her style.

      • She was frozen in fear. If anyone moved when they were not told too, they got jumped all over by Marcus, wannabee Sempai, Rissa and Venom. I told you not to move, STAY….hell I didn’t even get a puppy treat when I did the right thing 😛

    • RIGHT . As a formal contestant of Miss SL, he was very overly critical and damn right mean to most of the contestants. It seems like you have the ability to style, have community, and will be there for the organization that is not good enough for them. They wanted some one with no brain so they can control what they do. Dara Quinn, who the hell is she. Have you noticed how styling during the contest. There were some of the best stylists in the contest that were overlooked but yet you go to the one with limited skills. They went for an Anime look over a true representation of ” beauty , talent, and creativity” She lacked all that. However, I think Ivyana was one of the best ones but noticed that she has not been active with the organization since her reign. Now, we know why? Marcus is an ass and screwing a rl woman. Maybe if he turns straight he will be more compassion and have more common style sense. Continue on screwing your family members.

      • Dara does have the brains, style maybe not but smarts and cute as can be yes. I dont think she will do much, or even step down, and pass it to Candy. Another useless Model School owner, who pretends to make clothes, horrible, wrong weighted, crap that dont fit right. And why not an Anime look, it was way better than the anorexic, rolling eyes, balding look, that Dementia had. 🙂

    • Frolic Mills thinks he’s Simon Cowell of Second Life. He was a fluff tart when I was making gowns. Their fashion shows were rigged. If a model didn’t like being picked for anyone but her friend’s, she’d wear horrid makeup, hair or worse to deliberately make you lose and give Fluffy lots of ammo. I see nothing has changed.

      • I’ve seen Frolic in RL and if you saw him you’d laugh your asses off. I did! Models in SL were treating him like a fashion God and getting upset with themselves because they felt they couldn’t live up to his fashion standards. LMAO If they only knew and if they ever really thought about it you’d think they’d wonder why a man who was self-professed to be so involved in the RL fashion world and had an important role in it, was spending so much damn time in SL.

    • Having been in Mr. SL for the first few weeks, until I was so disgusted by the way I was being treated I left. I am just wondering how many of the contestants he tells, “there was only one who didn’t get enough points to make it through past the Audition”

    • You obviously don’t know how biology works. Gender is a social construct that has nothing to do with disorders of sexual development (previously known as intersex conditions). There are and will only ever be two sexes, even if in disorders of sexual development a rare few individuals may display characteristics of both sexes. An individual’s biological sex matters, but people are free to give themselves whatever creative gender they want if it makes them feel happy, it’s completely meaningless.

  8. #4 – First let me start by asking why Marcus didn’t introduce his “wife” to announce the 1st runner up instead of his “husband” since we all know Hikaru is really a female in RL. Okay, now on to the competition of Miss SL. Could this have been more boring? As much as I disliked Frolic’s MVW competition, at least he knew how to make the time go by with banter, critiques, jokes etc. and I don’t think MVW ever went as long as 4-5 hours at the most. Miss SL was over 7 hours long. This was just painful to watch. Even more painful was watching most of the contestants walk and pose – or should I say their attempts at it. The stylings of almost all were seriously bad and what the hell was Gabriel thinking with that jacket and pants? No Victoria Secret model is EVER covered up like that! So Miss SL 2019 is Dara Quinn. WHO? Okay, sure everyone deserves a chance – even the unknowns – but this girl was painfully plain with absolutely no flair whatsoever. I don’t get it but I don’t even care enough to demand a recount. Best of luck to you Miss SL 2019 but I have a feeling no one will remember you during or after your reign. Then again, I don’t remember the previous Miss SL’s either. ? Peace out.

    • The very first MISS SL grande finale was 8 hrs long. Eight–that is a full days work. There was 32 girls that walked. How do you go from 32 to 18 contestants and it STILL be freaking nearly 8 hours long??? Time management is definitely NOT one of Marcus strong suits.

    • As a personal model, I got tired of being told I needed to zero out all my shape sliders, on everything except my head. I understand it’s a trend that’s carried over from the real life runways, where models have to be starving size zero, but is having your rib cages and every bone in your body fully visible through elastic translucent skin really that beautiful? There is absolutely no need for people to be skinny stick insects when modelling. There are many great plus size models out there, and models of normal healthy size too that people can take a hint from. This’s why I gave up modelling in Second Life, at least for the mainstream “Expensive” clothing lines in there, I’d much rather model mainstream normal clothing and fetishwear, at least that way you dont have to be an anorexic flea in order to model. Miss SL has always been a complete joke. Frolic is a dick, always has been, he didn’t ruin it on his own.

    • I think you got it confused. The person who post that photo is accusing them of stealing the original model’s photo and using her photo to create skin and profit from it. That’s what the post was about. Studio Exposure Makeup / PANGEA / TRES BEAU is a group of three different businesses in one.

  25. I have to agree about Miss SL this year. Marcus was too busy criticizing everyone but picked a person who has no styling abilities and simply just plain. I am highly disappointed and there were other highly qualified candidates. Miss SL organization has loss alot of respect for this decision.

    • Honestly, Miss SL is for old people it would be interesting if the avatars actually look updated. Basically, they are square-jawed uglies with table centerpieces on their heads.

      • I still remember being made to wear this stupid ass bird cage hair style on my head during one of my runway sessions. It was retarded at best. Some of the stuff you’d have to wear to look supposedly “in style” for the runway was stupid. Old crap, ugly crap, flexi and bling bling, and even when Mesh was all over grid, those creators were making mesh bird cage hairstyles and mesh old crap and mesh ugly crap and still including shitty flexi and bling into their meshes. Like WTF… It’s like a trip into the local Thrift Shop, find some granny couture and model in it.

      • Not to mention, stores like Purplemoon, Sonja, Azul, etc, still make gowns and shit that look like they’re pre 2007, and pricing them higher then what most could afford. Actually I take that back, Purplemoon eventually shifted to using premade mesh items from marketplace in order to put out more items. How do I know they’re premade? Only about 2000 other stores are using that exact same fucking mesh.

      You completely missed the point. Those creators are supporting Arcade, who have stolen other creators hard work, and are happily giving them 5% of their earnings. But are angry that LL is asking for 5% for providing and building upon a platform that allows then to earn money this way at all.

  31. 8&9 are the exact reason I don’t rp in urban sims anymore or do rp Twitter ( which is the most toxic thing to ever be integrated into the community). Those people are so extreme with their opinions and so judgemental. No one and I mean NO ONE knows how to separate IC from OOC. These people are insane, their hobby is literally pretending to be someone else, experiencing those emotions, and then taking it as far as having social media and playing whole life stories out for that character. And you can say “it’s just like acting” but it’s not. The difference is, an actor knows how to turn it off, these people don’t. I don’t care for David because he’s been the source of much of the drama in that “community”,
    and part of the reason I left, but the community as a whole really needs to ask themselves can they actually separate IC vs OOC because the vast majority of them cannot. So many people, including myself have left for that reason and it’s sad. No one has any sense of loyalty or even basic morality for that matter. It’s a cesspool of high school drama on an OOC level.       • Yeah the Pro one was a good picture and I agree, set up some new display photos too in the store. There are some really awesome photos in the flickr group and he hasn’t changed those photos in a while!

    • No. Actually it’s easier that way to show details better. Cause designers mower days don’t click links on your blog anmore to see if you made nice close-ups of their shit. They don’t even bother anymore with their bloggers actual blogs and only care for Flickr likes and pics. That’s not whining that’s sad reality. So I can feel them.

    • They’re attempting to get more of the body in a pic that is more suitable for SL’s profile pic sizing. With that being said, full horizontal is stupid as hell and they should learn how to do diagonal ( and do it properly).

      • If they were doing that, they’d be in SL profile pic aspect ratio as well and they rarely are. Nearly always, those pics are pandering for group covers.

    • Oh…hmm….It seems so photographically wrong tho…the turning of my head is annoying- anytime I have a picture done, I ask them not to rotate it, but then they advertise it on flickr rotated….now I get it.
