10 If you cannot rig properly to the most popular bodies then don’t make clothes. If someone cannot fix your mistake with alpha-ing then it’s 100% a crap rig. A lot (and I mean A LOT) of template mesh Maitreya clothing is rigged just as badly as those boots and it’s a nasty surprise when you buy an item from a creator who had stuff that was perfectly rigged then come across something that has a huge glaring clip no matter what your sliders are set at.

22 That’s a nice philosophy but people who play kids are just like everyone else – some are really bad people who like drama and others get sucked into that. I try to combat it by being a “good kid” and being kind to other kids. Some people are just always going to be jerks, finger point, and cause issues. The people at the top of the kid community probably need to crack down on that but they can’t control everything and I doubt the kid hating crowd will ever let up.
25-27 All SL schools are like this now. They are pretty much hang outs for the popular kids. There’s drama because any large group of people has drama and if it doesn’t get called out or squashed, it just grows. If you want to do a school rp, your best bet is to round up kids you know and make your own private one. Get an adult to play teacher, it’ll be fun and totally free.
31-32 This makes me sad. I played Life1 with other kids back when Hanley was around. I didn’t go with Life2 because it was so much more $$$ to keep up and I already had a ton of Life1 stuff. Looks like I made the right choice here. Ouch.

You did make the right choice in not joining Life2, though it was around for a good while, it indeed was quite the price jump from Life1. Word through the grape vine is that Life3 is in production and that nothing from Life2 will work with it, just like everyone suspects, but nobody wants to believe.

Update On Life2
1.) This was a XOR DDOS attack, and I’ve taken a Gyazo of the support ticket with the server company to show when this was verified (Monday the 11th as per original notice)

2.) We were in the process of setting up a new server that would have provided automatic off-server backups, however this was scheduled for the beginning of March. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have foreseen this coming, and we have to own that fact that in the short 40 day duration we had control of the server, we didn’t double check about the automated off server backups, we can only apologize and say that if we had known they weren’t occurring, the server transition would have happened much sooner. We will own every mistake we make, you all deserve that.
3.) In response to the rumors that this mimicks the sudden shutdown of Life1, I can’t attest, as I, nor Mamsen, were around for this. However Hanley was around for both, and anyone who has questions about Life1, catch Hanley when he’s next on. I can assure you that this entire situation was discussed at length with Hanley, who made the choice to step down and wished for us to continue if we felt we wanted to.
4.) In response to the rumors that there is a Life3 in production that will make all Life2 items obsolete and that we will charge for the new items, is false. Right now when I have the tiem to code, it is being spent on beginning to rebuild Life2. If that morphs into a Life3, you all have my and Mamsen’s personal assurance every single Life2 item will be either compatible, or exchangeable, for an unlimited period, because this isn’t about the money for us, and just with the money spent on a server and on the data recovery, I personally am well in the negative as far as proceeds.
5.) We know that there will be a small vocal minority out there wanting to assure you that all we want is death, destruction, and to take your money. This is not the case, and anyone doing such is simply being bitter, unrealistic, and cruel.
6.) The new site landing page will be up before the end of this weekend, and will have an area in which you can submit tickets if you have questions regarding anything during this period.
If there are any questions or concerns that weren’t addressed in this NC, please IM or NC myself or Mamsen, we have, and will continue to respond to each and every one of you. Thank you for your understanding and we’re extremely sorry for how things have unfolded, and how long this rebuild will take due to the malicious acts of a small and ethically defunct person.

I have to agree with you about #42. Usually, if someone asks where I got something, I’ll tell them if I remember off the top of my head where it came from. But my inventory is huge and I don’t have all my clothing, hair and accessories memorized. Nor am I inclined to go dig through “worn items” to find it, usually. Then the inevitable “got a LM?” comes into play. No, honey, open your search and type it in, the same as I would have to. I’m not your secretary.

Yes! @Vichonette.. it never ends with just “where did you get that?” & sometimes it doesn’t even end with asking for an LM many times they will even message you again if they can’t find stuff instead of contacting the store’s Customer Service who are paid to help them with such things.
People also forget there is a time & a place for such things… for instance if someone messages me on Flickr/FB about one of my blog posts I’ll gladly go out of my way to help them specially if it was something I didn’t list in the credits (because yeah I don’t list my mesh body or skin because who wants to see that for the thousandth time with each post) but, when I’m out hanging with friends or randomly shopping it is in no way appropriate to insist I service the wants of some random stranger.
People forget that RL social etiquette often still applies online as well! You don’t randomly go up to a stranger in RL & ask them such things then insist that they give you directions to the store… why? because it’s considered rude & the person is going to look at you like you have lost your mind, then walk off.
One needs to remember that if they like an outfit someone is wearing that much, sure, tell them so, but leave it at that… maybe check out their profile to see if they are a blogger because if they are; they will most likely have links to their flickr/blog site there that will tell anything one might want to know while saving social face.

Candydoll keeps claiming she doesn’t have a team and can’t hire a rigger, she has to do everything herself as a deflection for her terrible quality. Then she posts on facebook about how her husband rigs for her and logs on her account to do work. So which is it? you have a rigger or are you doing it all yourself? A couple of months ago she said on facebook in response to a SL secret, quoting “I never said my stuff looks like my ads”. She admitted to her false advertising on her own facebook page.
At this point, you are all to blame, because someone blatantly admits to false advertising, yet you continue to support her, events continue to allow daz renders which are completely false representation of items being sold at their event. The community as a whole allowed this to happen.
So as shitty as candydoll is, hate the game not the player. You want change? Start demanding events to force designers to make honest SL ads not renders from another program. Stop supporting brands that do render ads and do false advertising and watch how quickly they change. Your money does the talking, not your opinions.

I had customer services issues. I bought two outfits in different colors, then decided to get the fat pack. I asked her rep since she had a message to only contact her CS. This rep told me, “sure.” But, I never got the money. Candydoll told me she never agreed to it! After that, I never shopped her stuff again. The whole point of the events was to go to a place where you trust the quality of its vendors. Instead event shopping experience has turned into going through 100 terrible items, with ads that look nothing like the product to maybe find 1 or 2 good things. You can no longer make purchases without demoing because there is so much like and deceit in the ads.
If the event shopping experience is “go through 100 crap to find 1 or 2 good items” then we already have that shopping experience, it’s called marketplace. That is why event traffic across the board is down. That trust that customers had with events has been lost. They can no longer purchase based on what they see advertised, they have to beat through lag, and traffic, pick up demos, then go home try the demos, then beat the traffic to make their way back to buy the one or two items they liked. Might as ell just go to a mainstore or MP for that kind of experience.

Chuckles Orfan started out as an alt for someone back when Winter D. opened Big Mama’s club along with Tiff years ago and those working there were struggling to keep people visiting during specific hours. Chuckles, along with a couple other alts Winter created herself were used by Winter and Tiff to help boost traffic and make people think there were actually people in the club. I only know because I used to work there, though very few of us stuck around long, the club didn’t even last a year. When the shit hit the fan and more than a handful of people finally had enough of Winter, she and Tiff got into a huge argument. Then Tiff, her man at the time, and Chuckles (along with several of the other bot alts) chose to move on and create Big Daddy’s. They’re still used as bots there today, when not pretending to be different people, most of them are run by the same two people. Although I’m sure there are plenty of newer ones there now too, so they can pretend to keep traffic up as per usual. It’s actually a requirement, for at least some of the employees, to have alts that can be planted in the club to make it seem more full. Aside from some seriously delusional diehards, most people won’t stay there long once they visit, for good reason.

No, I had it right, it was Tiff and Winter that started Big Mama’s, and ran it. Bianca came along later to “help manage” BM’s, because Winter has a bad habit of pissing people off left and right, always has. The falling out began with Winter then trickled out to just Tiff and Winter. Bianca was left trying to keep some of the staff working there while those two bickered like fat toddlers over a cookie. Then it just exploded into the worst, most ineffective temper tantrums I’ve ever seen grown women throw. It was hilarious to watch, really, but more on a “oh, those poor dears, we should have them examined” level than a Jerry Springer material level.
And it was also Tiff and whatshisface that created Big Daddy’s, even though Tiff wasn’t involved for very long after their falling out, though they did run a nude beach together at one time too. I only know that because they tried to get most of the BM staff to go to both places and work with the promise that winter won’t be allowed at either place. I would also like to point out for those followers of Life2 who are still sipping that good ole PeenHollow Koolaid that when Life1 mysteriously had a “ddos attack” and “lost everything” way way way way back in the day, they informed everyone to keep their stuff. We kept our stuff and it NEVER worked with Life2, they were two completely different servers, scripting the works. Everything we had ever bought had to be replaced.

Life2 was based off of the sims, for the very blatant observation of people wanting to play the sims but also talk to real people, they wanted stats to fill like hunger, hygiene, cooking and jobs. If you roleplay in secondlife it can really help with that. It is a shame you never got to partake in Life or Life2 when they were at their prim.
Don’t worry, theres still Lifestyles, BeYou, DFS, G&S and probably some others out there, OH and some of the scripting was leaked earlier but I think thats just a copy from the Goon websites out there.

Lastly, I had my DAD’s credit card for groceries but out of respect for now hard he works to fund my awesome life, I didn’t want him to be burdened by extra expenses like food. So I used the resources available me, that I’m entitled to use. One month of assistance during a govt shut down lol. Oh no!! Don’t insult me for one month of govt assistance. Oh no! Fucking burn! *eye roll* ya got me!!
I’ll wait to next week to see if you all bring that fire cause you all some duds!

If you truly only need food assistance for one month, but still have $120 to waste on hair care products, you are not in need. Just because you temporarily qualify, from a financial standpoint, for assistance, does not mean you are in need. You are the kind of person that makes it difficult for people who really need assistance, to get it. You are not owed shit, so get down off that pedestal you and your family seems to have placed you on, and come back to the real world. Assistance is there for those who need it, you brag about having all the money you need, plenty of savings, and not struggling, yet you take from others who don’t actually have those things. What an asshole, and you are going to be in for a very rude awakening when you actually grow up and find yourself 100% responsible for all of your own financial decisions.
For the dumbass that says “it’s not a one in one out thing”, you, too, are a huge part of the problem. You see, it actually IS a one in one out sort of thing, people just don’t like to think of it that way. We don’t have enough assistance in this country as it is, our system is already corrupt, and there are plenty of families that go without because of that. Why should we be even remotely okay with someone who has admitted, repeatedly, that she doesn’t actually need the help, taking it away from those who do? I report people like that, it’s part of my job to do so.
I do actually work with and for the people that need assistance, I see this shit every single day. I don’t know how many people who were temporarily out of work and naturally assumed they were due something who came in and applied for assistance. I don’t judge them, on the surface, but you can bet your sweet ass that if you had actually reported your savings (yes, you are legally required to do so, anyone that tells you otherwise, is lying) you would not have qualified for assistance. The only way you would have qualified is if this whole line about you having a six month savings, was a lie. So either you’re lying about having a savings at all, or you lied on your application for assistance. Only one of those options doesn’t carry a legal penalty, the other not only carries a financial and legal obligation to pay back every cent, plus interest, but will also disqualify you from ever receiving assistance again under the current system.
I will go out on a limb and suggest this whole line about savings is precisely that, a line, probably because you realize yourself that you aren’t quite financially mature enough to deal with life. In which case, while spending $120 on hair care products is still idiotic, it is simply that, an idiotic choice made by someone who perhaps isn’t as good at financial responsibility as she might like some to believe. I don’t blame you for being frustrated at your current employment situation, because it sucks ass for so many people in this country, including many I work with. It doesn’t make someone less of a person to accept assistance they actually need. It does make someone a pretty shitty person to accept assistance they don’t need, though. If I were you, I’d likely prefer that people simply believe I actually needed the assistance, rather than admit that I am a shitty human being and took what I didn’t need. Also, ftr, you pay less than $20 a year into the system that pays out all combined government assistance (food stamps using the least amount of said system), meaning that if we went the “I pay into the system, I should be able to take out what I paid in” route, you would be owed less than $0.03 per every working year. Don’t be that asshole.
