On the other, maybe this means there’s no major problems that might effect more than a couple concerned parties (like scam charities or major inter-store drama).

    I mean there’s a couple examples up there that fall into the latter category but it wasn’t on the scale of cheeky pea or the BDC drama.

        I still think the whole thing is a dumbass non-issue because if you buy anything without demoing, you deserve what you get IMO, and no one is obligated to buy anything, ever. There are plenty of options for what to buy in SL and there’s no reason to give any money to a creator you don’t think deserves it.

      • That’s not exactly what I was saying, but I’ll address it. Being a ‘decent human being’ has become a relative term in a lot of cases.

        Presently we’re stuck now in a loop of people finding that things they do fall within acceptable boundaries of social interaction and the other half telling them they’ve got it wrong. Ideally, the latter group would gain ground and change the first group but that’s not really how these things always work out (look at the fight to remove uses of gay and retard from lexicon).

        That’s just how life is and is part of the human condition. People are not all going to bend one way or the other always. It’s imperfect and it’s ugly but it’s reality. Where does that leave you? That leaves you with doing the right thing yourself and to know where to set your expectations for everyone else.

        Using this scenario as an example, it would be -nice- if people didn’t say shitty things about people or talk about suicide like that. But it happens, has happened, and will happen. Maybe a site fueled by the type of content we consume here isn’t the best place to stand your ground on that topic. It’s a little ironic given how much else is allowed to pass through. If one is concerned with being “nice” why are they here then? That’s an unreasonable expectation.
