  3. people take ideas and try to make them better. in Kathleens you can see they are 2 different mesh tops. Yes they are similar BUT LOOK CLOSE they are different. Scandalize is clearly trying to do things better in their eyes as well…. its wrong I think but yeah the similarities are high.

  5. I am sitting here in complete awe. I’ve just recently discovered this page and read through a couple of weeks and it blows my mind, the more I read. To be fair, I am not sure if its the secrets, the way they are presented, the “targets” of the secrets or the comments. It’s all such a huge mess that I am not sure if I should cry or laugh.
    I’ve flashbacks to elementary/junior/high-school, where kids couldn’t write & express their thoughts properly and where other peoples drama was the highlight of the day.

    Watching this mess in a “virtual reality” makes me realize why we’re having so many issues in the “real reality”. If you got fucked, I applaud the person that fucked you. Sure, boohoo he/she is a bad person but you were stupid enough to get fucked in the first place. If you take everything and anything that comes along you deserve to be burned. Be happy it happened in the “virtual reality” where you’re not left stranded with a new born, STD or HIV (Sorry went really dark here) and move the fuck on. The “bad” people are as bad as you let them.

    If you get fooled, scammed, fucked or whatever – sure, whoever done the deed is bad but freaking hell, educate yourself. Being an idiot is not a valid excuse.

A bunch of people just vanished after lace started getting investagted by linden labs. As too her sim it’s a hodgepodge of old prim crap. The only business she has is all the old people lace had, she totally poached them. Even has some of the same employees. The only place will dry up once all the lace people figure out just how much she fucked everyone over. She a money hungry hoe bag that stabbed her friends in the back, simple as that, There’s like 3 new sims that do the same crap go there and skip all the old lady baby girls talking about their disabilities on voice.

    While I totally disagree, that big booties are “ugly”, I got to say this: Thing with Maitreya body is (looks like most if not all on that pic using it), it generally doesn’t look really well when making the ass size go up to or close to 100. The ass looks kinda weird and “edgy” then. However, other bodies such as Slink Hourglass work just fine with a real big ass! Also to get back to the general topic: I remember back then, when I saw Kims big booty pic in some newspaper here in germany, a workmate of mine said how he hates that big ole ass. I secretly LOVED it and goggled for it later at hom (for research study of course lol). So you see, there are of all sorts out there, right!?

    But not made only this stores, All merchans make the same. take Rl ideas. The ballerina outfit made a lot of stores first than adamms, and the chains the same. Aisling store have a lot of chains in this style.

    • This is the main reason why I die laughing when you refer to these store owners as “designers” they don’t design shit. They look through magazines, Instagram, etc and copy what they see. There is no designing its just duplication and translation to pixels.

      • 99% of the stores are “inspired” by RL items. So these two aren’t special snowflakes no. But you aren’t going to find originality in SL. People who have the talent to actually design original pieces, that are truly INSPIRED where they add their own flair to make it original, are making money honing their craft IRL. Not working for 18 hours a day to sell their items for pennies.

        Most of these folks wouldn’t survive 2 minutes in the RL fashion world. In the SL fashion community you can never said anything bad about anyone. In the RL fashion world you’re lucky if you get praised. They are vicious.

      • 99% of RL stores are also “inspired” by RL items. Everything is inspired. Second, the world is becoming more digital. People keep saying IRL this and IRL that but guess what, 3D and digital art is the future. To be stuck in traditional methods is to be left behind. THIRD, it’s not mere pennies. A designer this round of ARCADE made at least $25,000 US DOLLARS. Multiply that average profit by four ARCADEs a year plus regular events and tell me again how much of a waste of time those pennies are. Is that a “1%” of SL? Maybe. Maybe not. It’s easy to keep ridiculing the income of digital creators but it’s a fact that there’s MORE than a handful of SL creators making ALOT of pennies. Close to comparable as those RL fashion designers. Speaking of RL designers, most big names don’t design their own stuff. It becomes a brand name. They hire unknown designers who get a paycheck as credit.

      • Stores and designers are not the same thing. Items in Old Navy are inspired by designers. The current trends and styles come from somewhere. That is usually a clothing designer somewhere that was inspired by something. They create it with their own flair. A real designer does not simply copy what they see and translate it to a different platform.

        As far as RL shit in SL is pixels. You can’t wear it so it’s virtual. Not real just pixels.

        $25k ??????? I know for sure that every store owner in the arcade is NOT making that much each round. Besides I was only quoting store owners themselves that whine about their slave wages. According to most of them they are barely making a minimum wage. The store owners who do make that kind of money in SL are definitely not in the arcade currently and haven’t been for sometime now.

        No matter how you try to spin it or make store owners look like the 1%. They are no different than RL stores like Old Navy. They don’t design shit they just sell a version of inspired fashion from else where. At the very least with RL fashion houses they do have real designers and yes they are making much more than even the top seller at the arcade.

        3D and digital art has a place. Even if you are good at it, why slave for chump change in SL? There are jobs out there that pay very well for 3D design artists with better tools than what’s need in SL. Why slum it doing 3D work copying real designers in SL?

    • Well, to the lady who defends so much, tell her to stop pointing the finger at other designers for doing the same thing she does. “INSPIRING IN RL” because shame would have to accuse honest people of doing what she does, and then she starts to cry to her friends “OHHH NOOO HAVE COPYED ME”, and telling lies to the people of other people, when the only bad person, bad co-worker, bad friend.   17. #4 I do understand what you mean by some needing to “tone it down”. I don’t see anything wrong with big booties as long as they are proportioned. I think there are just far too many women that don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to their shape. Some look really good and some look hideous. To each their own. For the women that do know how to proportion yourselves, help the others.

    • Have you ever actually offered a stranger help with their shape? No matter how polite you are, they generally take offense and go on the attack, looking for something about your avi to mock. At best, you may get ignored/blocked. I’ll help anyone who wants help, but fuck a bunch of offering it proactively.

    I don’t even know why the event is even still going at this point. Only the owners stores ionic and spell are holding it up sadly with quality yea, but bad way to handle the group and people. I only go because of a couple of designers, I would have killed to have been a creator in that event, all creator quality dropping, all creator uniqueness is dropping (not saying all but majority). I literally go, look for the common designers I know isn’t quality and has good items andleave and not even pay attn to the rest. It’s turning into this day in age, we’re not following events anymore, we are following the designers like how it used to be with these over done underaged lack of quality events. Yea they are good from time to time if you do it correctly and with who, but seriously this isn’t horrible on how you treat a person. I’ve watched the secrets for a while surrounding pupito and chapter four and its a honest shame on the verbal abuse over simple and stupid things. Like do they’d have asbergers or something? #let’stalkaboutit

    • I stopped going to Chapter 4 a few months ago now. I do not like anything from Iconic and I’ve only seen them at one event, Tres Chic or vanity? something like that. Pupito sounds like a real ego jerk

The inability to follow societal norms in social situations and communication is one of the most common signs of spectrum disorders. I doubt it has anything to do with why Pupito is an asshole, but it can for others on the spectrum. Pupito’s just an asshole because he wants to be one.

        You and I may know, or think at least, Pupito is an asshole because he just wants to be, but that doesn’t mean everyone else does. I can see exactly why people assume he, and others that act like him, might fall somewhere on the spectrum.Spectrum disorders often lead to aggressive and antisocial behaviors, it’s logical for people to assume some people have them.

  26. First of all, I apologize for the length, but our team wanted to address a few things here that we felt important and is stemming from incorrect information. Regardless of our decision to close we still feel a great sense of pride in what we did to bring a fresh idea and different thinking to events and shopping in Second Life. Both with Gacha and regular releases.

    “PocketEvents has no real expenses such as a Sim”

    This is false. Pocketevents has always maintained not only a full sim for the flagship, servers, and blogger rooms but, in addition, a Homestead for redundant servers during rolling restarts. Many seem to imagine that the entire operation was simply coding expenses. That is far from the truth. We maintain a fully dedicated premium server with Media Temple to assure top reliability and support which, if you are familiar with servers, is even more expensive than a Sim. Also, we budgeted up to $300 a month for promotions in contests, boosted posts on Facebook, Seraphim and WANT advertising. Finally, we paid our bloggers a stipend each month that totaled $100.00 to give them a bit for getting items that they wanted for their shots (i.e. backdrops). Oh, and beyond our initial and significant investment in coding for both events, we paid a fee for monthly work and improvements for both HUDs. There are other expenses – but let’s not nitpick. I would argue that we were one of the most expensive events to run in SL and did it without subsidies from LL as some get.

    “PocketEvents Was Greedy.”

    When PocketGacha first launched 13-months ago our formula was commission based. In December of last year we realized that in this process we were penalizing larger brands and allowing smaller ones a lesser ride. While some might think this is fair to open doors for these emerging brands that get less exposure, the push back from the larger ones was overwhelming. Given that we decided to change to a flat fee that was competitive for most larger events. What people did not see is that in the process we also took a great deal of behind the scenes fallout from the smaller brands who were reluctant to pay it. Our rationale at the time to them was that they were getting an opportunity on a platform and in an event that would be carried with larger brands and have better exposure for them. It worked and for a time everyone seemed happy. Eventually some larger brands complained about being in an event with smaller emerging brands of which some may not have had experience and proper layouts of keys. It was a tough and never-ending cycle. To this point, and to further counter the “greed” aspect (beyond the pervious into our actual expenses) we have always been fair to creators. Just last week, seeing that PocketShop (the sister HUD to PocketGacha) was not performing at an acceptable level in sales, we quietly took the initiative to refund all the creators on the HUD their fee for this round. Not because we had to. But because we knew it was the right thing to do.

    “PocketEvents Failed Because They Could Not Get Good Brands.”

    Sure, there is a certain element of truth to this. Be it a half-truth. We did in fact get many good brands. We also helped launch many new emerging ones. With PocketGacha the issue was more that as a monthly event it was impossible to get more than 40-creators per month to commit to Gacha, especially in light of two very well run and long-established events straddling ours on a regular basis. It’s no mystery that making Gacha sets is not easy. Those that did come amidst these multiple deadlines tended to make larger and more complex sets for the quarterly events given the “special feel.” We accept that. And we respect the reasons why. Regardless, PocketGacha is still popular to this day and our initial plan was to also take it quarterly. But with the need to maintain the servers and sims for the off months this made it minimally profitable and not a viable solution. Arcade and Epiphany do a great job in the area of quarterly. We thought we could fill a gap. We were wrong. Nor do we wish to compete at the expense of creators.

    PocketShop? Well, it was a complete and utter failure. We take ownership of that. Our team was very candid about this internally to creators and we pointed out reasons why, including that of our own mistake in thinking the brand of PocketGacha would carry over well. It did not. With that, our point in highlighting the other factors are also true. A saturation of events and a stagnant population in SL compounded the problem. Like with an airplane crash there are often many areas that go wrong at once. We are the first to admit that with PocketShop we did not anticipate properly the market and our association with being perceived as a Gacha oriented platform.

    To end, we stated in our final letter (of which only excerpts appear here) that we could very easily continue both events in a restructured fashion. We could take small to mid-level creators and be fine. Some would break through. Most would not. The shortage of new accounts and fresh shoppers makes the climate far more challenging. Our final decision was based solely in that we will not take money from these emerging brands for what we consider a pipe dream in the world of SL commerce currently. Will it change? We hope so!

    I hope this clears up some areas that we felt needed addressing. We realize that every event and brand will have critics. But we want to assure those that have been a part of the joy we have had the past 13-months since launch also have a complete picture to the wonderful team and thoughtful way in which we approached running these events.

    For us It has truly been satisfying in challenging the status-quo and we are happy to move on to new ventures in SL

    • I don’t think you challenged status quo at all as events and gachas been an annoying trend for quite a few years. Essentially – if you wished to do something fresh or popular – you would really need to do something new and from the idea it sounds like Marketplace but with less share percentage (hence not bringing enough people). However, I have never heard of this nor did I ever wish to look into PocketGacha in the first place which is your first issue – most people did see your ads (like me) BUT had no compulsion to seek you out thus did not hear of any other ventures. Event service maybe would work as they are truly a hassle since no one releases at main store any longer (I still visit them as sometimes designers have direct TP to item up in their store), however people slowly gravitate away from events, same as gachas so you’d probably be better off rebranding and looking for something else. Just not subscription boxes or similar XD (is that still going besides the makeup one? It is the only one I see mentioned still). However, you said it yourself – your brand is looked through one lense and it will always be seen this way first. Maybe try doing something akin a HUD-based event with a theme monthly and one that could be hooked up by anyone akin to marketplace (yeah, will get you crap as well BUT quantity at same time). No idea to be fair.

    • Hopefully in the future you guys don’t dive head first into drama again because that hardly ever ends well. That was kinda the final nail in the coffin for you with a lot of big designers.

      At least that should be one of the major take-aways from this experience.

People just want to shop, they don’t want to hear or see the drama behind the fucking curtains.       I’m ignoring all the rest of your giant wall here, but, you have/had fucking “blogger rooms”, roflmao? What the hell would they be used for? Whatever your future endeavors, I’d avoid any that necessitate blogger rooms.

      Having a redundancy land holding for communication devices makes sense, when your product relies on a separate device in world being constantly rezzed, so huds in the rest of the grid can communicate with an external server. Though I’m wary to call that communication method efficient, I wouldn’t actually, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than claiming you need an entire sim to rez those devices on.

      Interesting. I would’ve opted for ways to increase my profits, and my merchant customers’ profits, not increase my unnecessary land holdings, but you do you, I guess, or not, now.

        I’m still mildly amused at the idea of bloggers needing special rooms. I’m picturing someone attempting to justify this kind of cost. “My bloggers need a space in second life to write outside of second life about sellers inside second life”. “Your what, need fucking what?”.

      • Actually blogging rooms have been used by several stores and events for years. It allows bloggers to go, see and pick and chose what they want instead of being spammed with notices for items you may or may not blog. I liked blogger rooms it cut down on the notices I’d receive.

  28. Oh my God! Why can’t people write proper English. Posters leave words out, make words up and so on. Sometimes I don’t understand half of what’s been posted.     • Well, I appreciate the inclusion of RP sim stuff on this forum. It’s a nice break from talking about weather or not Lance’s carpet matches his drapes.

      ROIAF has a policy of using secret admin alts. A player will get banned from the sim for even coming close to outing someone or for even sharing IC information in an OCC fashion.

      They’ve banned / sanctioned OOC admins for actions like telling another player that someone else had decided to leave the sim.

      Because of this policy there is this little group of player-admins that has been controlling major roles in the sim for a while. And they’ve been popping up in SL Secrets for a few weeks / months.

      The problem is not the fact that they’re doing it, but that they claim fairness and strict adherence to the rules, but they’re constantly playing favorites. They also give the illusion that the players are in control of the sim / story when it’s just the cabal of admins running the major characters. (NO problem with this, other sims do it. They’re just transparent about it and call these roles what they are: NPC’s, Game Masters, or Storyteller characters.)

      An example of favoritism: The Addam Baratheon player was “sent to the wall” meaning that the character was essentially removed from the story. The player made a new Lord-level character in another region, but he was allowed to return to the Addam character. All well and good and no one would bat an eyelash at this character movement or exceptions in other sims. However other players have asked to do similar things, but have been flatly denied or put on long embargos from playing certain roles. Players who had not been around for months would get powerful positions when they return over active players.

      Leyton Tyrell (Forgotten Eleonara) is likely Grumpkin. The original poster of this is conjecturing that Icarus Silent is his alt. I don’t know enough about the character to be sure. (Adelaide Royce used to gloat about being partnered to an admin and you can see who she’s partnered to.)

      Aemon Targaryen (vestigewithin) is being accused of being MerlingKing here, but it’s likely not the case because of the policy of admins not being King or Queen. But the gossiping classes aren’t quite sure on it. (There’s some gossip about it being Baelor.) It is assumed that Aemon played the NPC King AND he played both the Crown Prince (Aelyx) who was murdered in that loaded dice RP that was revealed through virtual-secrets.

      Myranda Darklyn (adeline mohr) is most likely IceDragon. This was posted a few weeks back to SL secrets. A long time player was banned recently for jokingly outing her pregnancy in OOC chat. (IceDragon recently retired. They seem to be holding the featured role most likely to become Queen for someone.)

      Why does this matter? They’re strongly relying on OOC information to move their own character stories along. And while the rest of the sim was chasing after the eligible doomed bachelor Aelyx, they were schmoozing one of the two characters who would be in contention for the throne. But it’s who was NOT going after Aelyx that was interesting. Aemon’s buddies: Darklyn who is knocked up with his bastard and Tyrell who played Kingmaker in the coup.

      This is GOD MODDING like crazy and having other banned for the same “crimes” they commit.

      And players outside of this little group get the illusion of having their characters matter or getting to influence the story when they’re only there to provide background characters to die in badly concocted plots about wildfire being used to kill rioting peasants in a room full of nobles.

      At this point they should really just go write fanfiction.

    I would consider myself a pretty popular designer, not way up there; but you know – people have heard of my store probably at least once. I was invited to join PocketGacha in the beginning and thought it was a great idea, started working on something for it until I read the fine print and saw that they took a cut. Exactly the reason why I left the arcade. So I contacted them and dropped as I am totally against that kind of business practice. I don’t know where the money goes; I had just left Arcade for good because I knew that the staff weren’t getting paid what they should be from someone who worked for them. It goes straight into the pockets of the owners. At one point Arcade had taken around $700 – $800 bucks just from my vendor alone. That money should be going to me for my hard work.

    I digress; After they changed their payment strategy they reached out to me again and again; at that point they had run themselves into the ground with the backdrop city drama and their designer list was pretty hit and miss. I knew of a lot of designers that were excited for it until they read about the cut and also the controversy and wanted nothing to do with it.

    That was downfall of Pocket Events. They can only get new designers – and don’t get me wrong; there is nothing wrong with new designers; but new rarely means quality hence the abysmal downfall. Nobody is going to want to buy or use the HUD if there’s nothing they want; and if there’s nothing but basic basic and low quality items in the hud that people have to scroll through; why the fuck would anyone use it?

    They shot themselves in the foot from the get-go. I knew a huge amount of big designers who were excited to join; recently left Arcade and were looking for an alternative to get into; thinking PocketGacha was a great idea and the answer, only to be sent a PDF telling them that there’s a cut involved and everyone noped out.

    It’s a shame; for me I saw great potential; great website; great idea. It was badly executed due to greed. Now don’t get me wrong – I know there are scripters to pay but there is not a sim to pay and I would have gladly paid a higher entrance fee if needed but after the huge mass exodus from The Arcade from the same reason; why would anyone join that straight after?

    And then they go and spin that they are “Helping new designers”. No you’re not. That’s all you can get while you’re on the side IMing big designers begging them to come back when we want nothing to do with it. Desperate move.

    • That is one thing I don’t get. An organizer for a successful event works hard also. Should they not be compensated for their hard work. I don’t understand why store owners think they should pay L$5k or whatever and make 100x over that at the event and feel that’s cool.

      I blame the first event organizers for creating this entitlement store owners have. From the start it should have been a modest entry fee and 10% cut of sales. That is more than fair compensation to the event organizers. How much they pay their staff, if they pay them at all is nunya.

      I just don’t agree with the idea that the only one that should profit from events are the store owners. That’s bullshit.

      • Well events taking a cut could be compared to renting a stall or a booth at a festival, major convention, or one of those Street markets they have in major cities in RL. They ask you for a rental fee relative to what the organizer thinks the space is worth to them. They don’t come back and also ask for a cut of your profits as well. It’s just not done that way.

        That’s probably why designers don’t feel comfortable doing it; especially the ones who sell RL goods in those sorts of models. Plus add on that up until arcade started doing it, no one was doing it. It was always a flat rate for booths.

        Events are like events IRL. They occur for a limited time and involve more work. In RL an organizer aka promoter sets everything up, does the marketing, media and PR. The participants pay and the promoter takes a percentage sometimes as high as 15%.

      • Sorry, I’m not seeing how they’re not at all like renting stalls in RL. Any convention or large festival is bound to have lots of PR and marketing done for them. Maybe the example of a flea market or those city “farmers markets” don’t have as much involved and I’ll give you that, but the other examples do. I’ve personally worked at events sporting over 130k in attendance with major companies involved and we’ve only ever paid a flat fee as vendors. The people getting a cut for the work promoting the event I imagine comes out of the money the coordinators make off vendor fees and various ticket sales but it’s nothing we as vendors ever deal with directly.

        Unless I’m misunderstanding your post, then I apologize.

        Now; if the people who are online; organizing everything, doing everything, handling all the heavy lifting are only getting 30k; while the rest lines the pockets of the owners; that is completely unacceptable. I know one staff member who struggles financially IRL and I would have -loved- for that person to have seen a huge chunk of the money earned through the 5% at the arcade; but the reality is that it’s not going to them; there’s no transparency and I only know about this because I know someone personally who worked for them.

        Hell; they might have raised it to 100k but still. One good vendor could pay for all the staff and then the profit from 120 other designers goes straight to the event owners who do literally nothing. Couple that with the sponsor fee (Which I paid in this instance, I factored that into the $700-$800) these guys are making bank off the hard work of designers AND their staff. That is the problem I have with it. Not the fact that the money was taken; or how much – but simply the fact that the money is not going to the people who really deserve it.

      • Participating in the ARCADE is best compared to being associated with a huge company like MACYs, TARGET and Walmart. A lot of people say they wouldn’t have known brands unless they were in the ARCADE at least once and this is true. Because the ARCADE has 16,000+ members. Second Life at a given time has 35,000 to 45,000 users online at one time. So ARCADE has garnered a huge following to justify their sales tax. Other events SHOULD be treated like street fairs where you rent a tent. An example is Cosmopolitan. There are 45-50 stalls sold at L$6000 per month and it’s always often sold out. If someone flakes and a new designer steps in they pay an additional L$3000 participating fee despite the booth being paid for. Besides that, Corina banks on the outside satellite shops rentals and Hello Tuesday event. Calculate her earnings based on her effort and she’s pretty much banking a pretty penny as an event organizer. That’s an example of an event that should be treated as a street fair booth rental and not taxed. If most events were taxed from sales it would indeed be not fair because while organizing events is hard work guess what… ARTISTRY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP IS EVEN HARDER.. You want to KEEP your core creators because they attract your customers to your events. Tax them/charge them too high and they will leave in search of greener pastures.

      On another topic, every single day I see or hear some designer whining about how events only let in their friends, you have to be a ass kisser blah blah to get in events. Guess what? If events take a % instead of a flat fee, THEY would also CARE more about the event performing so YOU can also make more money. Remember a certain group that was running events? when they first started they got in a lot of quality creators to sponsor for them and got their events popular, once their became popular enough so they always had more sign ups than they had spots for, suddenly they started giving their spots to friends and whoever that was kissing their ass. Now? most of their events are dead and the rest been down sized or constantly getting revamped because they are doing shit.

      When event organizers take a flat fee, as long as they get all their spots filled, they get their money and they couldn’t care less about traffic or sales from their events. It is in your benefit as a brand to have a mutually beneficial business system with event organizers, where both parties are rewarded based on sales and traffic generated. Then you will have a long standing healthy economy.

      • I also paid the 100k sponsor fee for that round, which I factored into the equation, but as you can read above my issue is not with them taking -my- money; it’s what they do with it that I do not like.
        The money does not go to the people who worked for it. It lines the pockets of the owners who do literally nothing.
        If all the money was split equally between all the workers who bust their asses making Arcade what it is; I would be completely happy to continue to participate in it; however I know for a fact that it doesn’t.

        Same thing with PocketGacha, right after the debacle with the Arcade charging a cut; they charge a cut. Who’s it going to? What’s it going to? Is it being spread equally among the people who work for them? Who knows; and that’s why I didn’t join. This is not about money, this is about people getting paid what they deserve to be paid.

  46. As usual I don’t know who most of these people are but I do have a thing or two to say about the body type issue.

    Many of these disproportionate bodies that go beyond unrealistic fantasy into ridiculous cartoon territory are due to the person behind the ava not understanding how human proportions work. It’s especially difficult with female bodies because of all the curves. I agree that an ava can be as thick or thin as the person wants and still be sexy IF the proportions are right. This is why I don’t wear my female body. I spend an hour working on the sliders, think it looks great and then the next day I see it rez and go ‘wtf’? This is sl though – body shaming is as stupid of a concept here as blasting people for identifying as the opposite gender than they are in real life. Don’t like it? Move on and spend your time doing something more productive.

    • To be honest if folks microchipped their cats this wouldn’t be an issue. I know folks are poor and can’t afford the 35 dollars it cost to microchip. But if you can’t afford 35 dollars chipping you probably can’t afford the cat.

      To defend this situation a cat left on a property with large dogs is going to die. The above person is posting on stray animal sites but should also contact shelters and local animal control in case the owner calls it in. Truth be told in some areas animal control doesn’t care about cats and also some cat owners don’t care about their own cats.

      True story: my friend feeds the stray cats at the dump every day twice a day. One day a new cat showed up. She knew it wasn’t one of her “garbage kitties” and it had a collar so she took it to the shelter to check for a chip. Turns out the cat was missing 8 years. The original owners chipped the cat. Either someone deliberately stole the cat or it was “found” and kept by a good Samaritan without checking for a chip. After 8 years they dumped the cat they stole/took in and the original family got the cat back.

      Please if you find a cat and take it in check first for a chip. If you have cats, even if they are 100 percent indoor cats, chip them. It’s cheap.

  51. @ PocketEvents — This event was ok until they got involved immaturely with the backdrop controversy. Thanks to SLS we saw the owners bullying Flickrites who used backdrops. And now they are posting blaming the SL economy because of their failure to run an event? Bye. An example of a booming event because of backdrops is Equal 10 (owners of backdrop city) which proves, even where old events like Fameshed and C88 may seemingly dominate there is still room for new “tier 1” events like Equal 10. Tons of event coordinators are doing better in the genre despite the fake news PocketEvents is spreading on a dipping SL economy basing their “facts” on their failures. In fact, CasperVend has just released vendor analytics showing vendor sales have increased dramatically in August compared with past years. As August is usually one of the slower months in terms of sales. (caspervend.casperdns.com/economy.php)

    • It was the backdrop drama that made me hesitant to use PocketG/S, but I would always look at what they were offering anyway. I never found anything I wanted enough to overcome the hesitation and spend L.

PocketGacha spoke out strongly against Backdrop City and even made a script to attach to backdrops to derezz them automatically so it wouldn’t be used in a place like BDC. They bullied bloggers and creators into turning their backs to Backdrop City as well. That ruined their reputation to a lot of consumers and creators and their succeeding rounds were shitty which didn’t help their reputation at all.

        @semelina: you’d be mistaken on people not knowing about the backdrop drama. Anyone who bought backdrops regularly (photographers, bloggers, other creators) mostly knew about it from social media from involved stores and events up to outside parties with the same pull jumping in (like PG).

        Aside from the exposure here, it was covered elsewhere and many people who used backdrops were following because it all effected how and when they would be able to use what they’d bought. No matter what side of the issue people were on, it was incredibly talked about for a while within the bigger creator and consumer circles.

      • Everyone has that right, for sure. But it comes with the knowledge that there may or may not be consequences for either the stance you take, or choosing to be involved in the conflict itself (or both). Sometimes it’s better as a market entity (especially in the fishbowl of connections that is SL) to pick and choose your battles if you have the luxury.

        Add to that, PG did more than state an opinion, they took steps to further insert themselves into the mess by creating scripts to put into backdrops designed to discourage backdrop sharing (but they also came with some issues for other users).

      It’s false statistics.

      The SL Economy has been on a downswing for a long time, not spiraling, but slowly going down. It’s just due to lack of recurring and new users. That doesn’t mean folks can’t make money here, they surely do. But there is no ‘going up’ anymore for Second Life. It’s a long, slow, ride downhill and has been since 2008. This doesn’t mean SL will go away – I can’t see the future of anything, especially since if I can still play Gunbound then SL will be around a while longer.

He certainly isn’t that weight now. He did tell me he went through a period of some weight gain due to severe depression a few years ago, but that he lost it all again and like I said, I’ve seen him on cam just recently I can confirm this that he’s skinny.

      • You are deeply ignorant if you think that you can steal an image or pattern/texture from RL, simply put it on a mesh, and have it look good. That’s not just difficult or unlikely- it is literally impossible. You will know beyond the shadow of a doubt when you get a “photorealistic” texture; they used to be very common in the system clothing days, and they look, unsurprisingly, exactly like a photo of a piece of clothing.
