      It’s interesting that since clubs like Indulge and Babygirls became so proud (even advertising) that they don’t verify their staff that their clubs have gone downhill earnings-wise. Sadly I can’t remember the exact name of the hair and I’m not logged into SL atm but happy hunting.

This website would be a lot more fun if secrets weren’t just posted once a week, then other gossip sites wouldn’t be the first to break real news like the the Lisa Walker copybot thing or the elementary school drama or Sophia Harlow leaving Uber or Cheeky Pea using illegal 3D models etc. So bored with the personal dramas that only concern a small group of people nobody else knows slinging insults at each other.

    • A bit of a history lesson. There was a site called Shopping Cart Disco, it was a gossip rag and was very controversial. The owner was open about who she was and it caused her all kinds of issues but she ran the site the way she wanted openly. Her partner came up with the idea to do SL Secrets but she was the naive sort and thought it would be like post secrets. Which was the case for maybe 2 weeks. Then it evolved to what it has become.

      Approx 7 years ago (Kess will correct me if I’m wrong) the original owner of Shopping Cart Disco sold it to Kess and I stayed on with Kess. I was just a once a week fashion blogger on SCD. Kess and I both work full time we don’t have the time to track down and gather info for the gossip stories and what is breaking at any moment. We couldn’t devote the time. So we decided since Secrets was so popular we’d dump the gossip rag and just have secrets.

      SL Secrets isn’t a gossip news site really. We don’t track the info down and post. That other site is good for that. So let them do what they do and we do what we do. If you prefer to go have your news and discussion over there. Thats cool, we’re ok with that. Not everything is for everyone. Frankly, we don’t have the time. I’m working full time and I’m in school. Kess works full time and runs a RL business.

      We get 30K – 50K views a week just from posting one day a week. I think our post frequency is sufficient for our loyal visitors.

      In conclusion, I am sorry we have not met your needs. I do think the other site may be more suited to your tastes.

Join that VIP for 1000 linden and get two crummy gifts within 2 years. Don’t fall for the scams peeps!

    • I crossed Besom off my SL shopping list when she created the VIP group and didn’t have the decency to grandfather in all of her (old) group members. You want me to pay to join your new group when I have supported your products AND been a member of your original group for over two years?? Right… No recent VIP group gift?       • I believe that is only fair to those who have supported and been loyal to you over time. Some of these stores though seem to forget those who have been loyal though, as they chase the almighty Linden. Candydoll is a great example of greed. She had a group where quite a few members had been with her for ages. Suddenly, she figures she needs to have a VIP group and closes down her old group, booting out those who had been in that original group. Those types of creators can take their VIP groups and the fees and shove it up where the sun does not shine, in my opinion.
        There are good groups though out there, like Truth for example. He charges 350L for his fee and your inventory hair folder gets filled quite nicely with all the gifts and treats he gives.

      • Insomnia Angel ex Konpeitou did a good job with sending notices fo 1 month urging people to join their new group while it was free. So no, not all creators are greedy

      • I’m 100% with you about Truth, but I was invited to the new Candydoll group free of charge, and she sent notice after notice for a month before and after the group change to help people from the old group get in the new one without paying, so I guess either you missed out on that for about 2 months somehow, or you’re just lying because you have some kind of issue with the creator there.

      • Almost exactly this. Anyone who deposits or withdraws a substantial amount (I assume LL have a threshold) to or from Second Life needs to verify and answer a series of questions – how do you make your money in Second Life, what is your relation to X/Y/Z avatar (if they are the ones paying you), and so on and so forth. Similarly if you want to up your limits for any reason.

        I imagine Second Life is a pretty perfect way to wash/launder money if someone played things the right way, so kudos to LL for investigating to the extent that they do. Of course, it’s likely to protect themselves more than anything but despite the pain, I appreciated the thorough process they followed when I was cashing out large amounts.

If it seems like a sinking ship for strip/escort clubs, maybe it’s time to start learning another skill they can apply in SL other than creating emotes and flashing pixel poon for the price of fast food meals.       • The family community is so rife with drama because of its very nature. It’s a place where people put out their souls in hopes that someone will connect with them. A lot of people who are really invested in it don’t have much emotional support IRL for whatever reason, so the people they connect deeply with, the people they talk about their days and their feelings with, the people they feel supported by, are all online and in this community. Many are dealing with RL issues like anxiety and depression as well, amplifying the emotional instability f the whole thing. Unfortunately, not everyone connects well, people get misunderstood, some people act like twats, and they wind up limping off, feeling hurt, licking their wounds and lashing out.

        On the specific topic of Willowdale vs. OSE, who cares who started it first? May they both do well. Plenty of kids attend multiple schools. OSE is almost always excellent quality and I generally like Jill and Gattz. I don’t know Lisa, but I’ve been involved with Willowdale and it’s a pretty nice place. Why make a fight over this? Can’t two sims do well together?

A couple of real life examples: I saw a kid who couldn’t have been older than three or four angrily tell his mother to “fuck off” the other day. They happened into being popular by running HKE, OSE, and CHK, as well as Little Wonders, and that comes with some crazies. And really, people who are genuinely dramatic tend to not be able to keep a consistent friends group. They’ve had some of the same kids and family members for years, at least since 2011? Can we at least get some side by side comparisons, like one half showing 3D/Daz models and the other half showing the SL model without heavy editing?

All the slang, street talk, ebonics, “Don’t tell me how to live my life” language began flying.       • There are demos. Every single creator that’s been called out for using those offers demos. There is literally no reason to give them a single L without seeing their work in world, so what exactly is the problem here? You would still need to demo, no matter where their vendor images were made, because rigging in motion is different from rigging in a still pose. This is an absolute non-issue.

      • it would be less of a pain in the ass though to see it on a SL avi.. maybe its a creator that you know makes things to fit your shape perfectly that still won’t make it look nice on you.. and sometimes its hard to try things on at events with lag or having to leave n trying to get back in.. just stop buying from sellers who don’t care about their customers. problem solved.

      • If you use lag or crowded events as an excuse not to demo, you get what you get- because again, you have the option, and those are such silly concerns that I’m a bit embarrassed for you that you even made those excuses. Why is everyone in such a hurry to match up with the rest of the clones the first couple of days of an event anyway, which is the only time that happens? And because of the way you can’t actually test the rigging of a mesh without moving, vendor photos are never going to be a reasonable substitute, I mean unless you’re such a sloppy bitch you don’t care that your parts poke through.

      • You’re right about there being demos. However, having fallen for the bait and switch a few times myself when browsing ads on Flickr or Seraphim; even if you do demo and save yourself from buying, it’s frusterating to see the item inworld look nowhere near as good as the ad. I know there’s been a number of times I’ve even gone “well, [event] is gonna be crowded for a week or so, better remember to go later,” and then I do and it looks like hot garbage.

        Sure it’s not like I lost any L in the process but it’s still pretty disappointing. I don’t think it’s unreasonable that consumers don’t like deceptively attractive ads. I actually appreciate a store more if they take the time to faithfully show me what I’m looking into before I even demo.

Think about it… Why would an attractive girl be at a sex sim on SL during a Friday night when she could be out in RL? I’m willing to bet the vast majority of people at SL sex sims are obese, low income and socially awkward.

The avatar’s hips are at least twice as wide and have a outer curve as if she isn’t stick thin like the thighs are, and their angle slider is turned so far that her knees basically face each other when standing. The example you posted is extremely narrow-hipped in proportion to those thighs- you know, like a real human being, which was the whole point? I see the attempt, but complete fail at rebuttal all around.

    • The post wasn’t about the anklets, but about how the vendor image was not taken in SL but in an rendering program outside SL that doesn’t show how they actually look inworld. Personally I think it’s a stupid thing to complain about when there are demos 99% of the time so you can see what things look like inworld, but someone’s got a hair up their ass about that lately.

      • I know what it was about.. but the anklet was the only thing here I recognized. And I agree. I don’t mind the images not being taken inworld. Even inworld can be modified easily in photoshop. A demo is the only thing you can (mostly) trust.

Willowdale recently had an issue with one of the old people running it pulling up half the sim and destroying the whole place, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve hired on a new person to fill the gap left by the screaming child who tantrumed their way out. They definitely do allow RP everywhere that I’m aware of. There’s a few new partner sims which attached to them from another group and idk anything about those. They’re called Maui or something.
