About Kawaii Project, someone said is because “new blood” wouldn’t apply and that is not true, i know i already applied more than once and wasn´t picked to participate , i might not be great but i work, is all original mesh and could fit Kawaii theme, when some participants now don´t even bother… then few months later (booths empty due to not being rented every round) they open applications again..
No one likes being rejected ok but no wonder others like me don’t wish to re-apply forever…
There are a few events doing this, i recall seeing We <3 RP opening applications, i know of good stores applying but got no word from them and few time later… the surprise.. applications open!

    12) The answer is simple. She didn’t want to be affiliated is the poorest excuse of a “strip club” in second life. What is it? #hoelyfe. Last I checked a “hoe” is used in the garden.

Feels like Cutie Loot is going to be a replacement for The Kawaii Project tbh……least THEY keep it in the theme….sad how a subscription box is doing better than the event lol xD

#3 – Inworld the head looks nothing like Catwa Stanley. It actually works pretty well with the included skin, but not a single other Omega applier would work. But it is a good product for the price, especially for new players. But I don’t think I’ll be buying from her again – she seems petty and if you give any kind of feedback it had better be 100% positive or nothing at all. She doesn’t like anything less than glowing remarks.

Or it’s the fact that she doesn’t like how people leave negative reviews WITHOUT DEMOING THE PRODUCT! It’s not that she’s petty at all, she only unleashes on people who are either too stupid to not try a demo or plain rude overall towards her. There is no fishing for remarks of any kind :/

        05/23/2017 at 4:08 pm

Where is the demo? There doesn’t seem to be one anywhere on her marketplace for this head. Don’t get shitty with people for not demoing if there isn’t a demo readily available.

She’s a narcissistic cunt who’s filling a void of attention in RL & has been proven to copybot. Her texturing is shabby, I don’t see why people like her half stolen content.

#4 the character is called pooh-chan, and i have several of those bags irl.. i believe its from a Japanese brand. so yeah they are both ripping off rl.. just lazy to me.. i’d much rather buy more of that character design irl then bother with a virtual knock off..

i stopped shopping at Zenith so long ago, cuz they just ripping off rl stuff to much. i come to sl to buy stuff i can’t readily buy or wear irl…

Kawaii project makes me laugh. I tried applying the first few months it started. But of course. I wasn’t in with the owners. They’re still so proud that they wouldn’t probably even let me in now. Just makes me laugh that they can be so pathetic and egotistical.

2/ made me laugh, i can tick a few of those off myself. \o/

8/ well id be suspicious of that sole texture it does look like the details have been badly cloned out . never liked savage stuff anyways.

9/ nice advert for the “copybotter” store right there.

12/ glad to see this here to be fair, the Kawaii Project used to be one of my most favorite events of the month, but its gotten more crap as the months go by, half of its empty/ not set up, of the ones set up 50% are not even cute items. i mean the speakeasy tattoo’s for the last 2 rounds,… all stolen artwork AND not in anyway Kawaii at all. its gone down hill for sure. such a shame. maybe they should expand the little nook of designers they allow and actually let some new talent in there rather than just friends of friends of ass kissers .

13/ she’s a joke. ” none of my elements are from freepix” BULLSHIT! lol
The Princess Palace logo vector http://www.freepik.com/free-vector/pack-of-elegant-ornamental-logos_956406.htm#term=logo&page=1&position=0 its right there! so she added some emboss to it big woop!
theres no shame in getting vectors from sites like there, but honesty would give her so much more credibility, instead of the defensive BS she keeps posting .. makes her look worse IMHO

ooo! good week this week, i had a real good rant

All smaller events will have their ups and downs – SL is now a world of gacha and events. I will agree that Kawaii Project needs a revamp and some fresh blood. It has become more and more “lolita” or even whore couture style than Kawaii. I hope it picks back up again soon. I understand some are themed, so maybe that is why it can be confusing about the items vs the name of the event.

Unfortunately though, events are predominantly populated by creators who have made friends with each other – if, as you said, the event has been half empty, or not set up – that would indicate that others (fresh blood) haven’t applied. Event hosts are unlikely to keep booths empty, not when it costs them money to rent space, so… new designers should start applying more. Kawaii was one of my faves for a long minute.

As for the comment about the tattoo designer (or any comments about tattoo designers in general), I have to say i’m pretty much over it. Nearly all tattoo’s RL and SL are sourced from pics on the internet. I know all mine have been sourced there – taken to the tattoo artist and stenciled out and then inked. I have a best friend who found images on the web of a tattoo done by a famous tattoo artist on the west coast, and took the pictures to her local artist and had it stenciled and inked – its not like she paid $600 for a flight just to go see the original tattoo arist to get it done.

At least with the tattoo designers on SL, they are taking multiple pictures from multiple sources and creating a collage of artwork – that is art in itself, really – they have made a much bigger piece of work to wear. I actually think that is impressive.

On the flip side, I saw a bag at a recent event with clearly marked copyright infringement for a well known brand – and a shirt at another – logo name and all. THAT is what I consider stolen artwork.

      As posted on my flickr:
“- I buy the assets to the pictures (or free pngs), just as the backgrounds (i bought it from Svetlana at Renderosity ages ago) The backgrounds are blurred, edited, modified and so on. ”

I never denied using free png assets on my logos, just as i used paid ones too. Its free and its available on internet.

The defensive post, in my opinion, was only fair since the accusations are anonymous.

“so she added some emboss to it big woop!”
It wasnt just “added emboss to it”, its painted and edited in order to look good with the whole picture, thats my job.

The Indulgence logo wasn’t posted because I ask for permission before posting logos, sometimes owners takes a few days to update their content and i can’t post it before the owner.

If you want more explanations, my legacy name is Nancy Deimatov, I offer myself to answer all of your concerns about my work, references, license files and so on. I apologize in advance if my work is not consistent with your expectations.

      Bea.

@12, I saw a few empty booths but how is this different from any other event where designers don’t rent or don’t set up on time?

I personally can’t imagine running an event and trying to get that many store owners to get their shit together and set up on time. Designers need to stop stretching themselves so thin to participate in every single event, and only participate in the ones they know they can be set up on time for.

Every time I go to a round of c88 there are empty booths with curtains over them, same for other events. This is no different. For the most part, I enjoy Kawaii Project so I don’t really see the need to suggest that they shouldn’t bother when there are plenty of other great stores that participate rather than focusing on the booths that are empty.

    • Yawn says

      05/21/2017 at 3:29 pm

“A few empty booths”… Do you have terrible graphics or just purposely not wanting to see that over half of the booths aren’t rented? C88 has a few booths that are late.. not still available for rent lol.
I used to really love this event! Then it went to new management or something and now it’s awful. They will let any garbage in there as long as it’s made by the people who lick their assholes.

      • 2cents says

        05/23/2017 at 8:14 am

I don’t think it’s the event owner’s responsibility to get the designers to be responsible, the designers paid for the booth and didn’t set up in time, which means, they can’t set up later and wind up losing money, they are also blacklisted for next round which gives other creators a chance to showcase.

I agree that creators need to stop stretching themselves thin, honestly in the end it’s about quality not quantity. You can make a ton of shitty items, and barely get things purchased or make a few innovative and well made items that will be bought and allow other creators to participate in other slots you would have taken up.

There are more then enough events out and they are all beginning to become lackluster due to the stress creators put on themselves for not simply declining some spots.

      • Yawn says

        05/24/2017 at 11:30 am

I think you’re missing the point 2cents. Again, nobody is talking about designers being late to an event… We are mentioning the booths not being rented at all.
