  5. If you don’t like the way Maitreya runs their business, make your own mesh body.

  6. Maitreya gamed the omega system customers pretty hard and openly advertised to them that they were different than slink with its universal appliers. Creators were duped, customers were duped.

    Since the fiasco started about how choosy the creators are I found myself updating slink and found a new appreciation of fitting older mesh clothing . Slink physique 2.0 isn’t bad actually. The tattoo layers alone made me switch back and the fact that I can wear clothing I bought before fitted mesh came into play just made my inventory fun again.

    Maitreya no doubt had a beautifully made body but the game the creators have played with customers and creators was enough for me to end a customers relationship with them. Money talks people. Take your business elsewhere.

  7. #1 maybe everyone should stop to even try to make things for her body = less supported clothes = less people buying HER body = her reaping what she sow!

    • That’s really it. This isn’t greed on her part, it’s a business decision. She’s doing what’s best for her business in her mind. She’s got a big, very profitable brand to protect and I’m not about to say that I somehow know what’s best for her. It’s not what’s best or easiest for me, but she doesn’t need to give a damn about all the other smaller creators across the grid. It’s not reasonable to expect her to worry about what would be “fair” for us. But if you don’t like it, don’t support it. Don’t fake items for a brand that doesn’t want you to create for them. Let the handful of chosen merchants sell for that brand and let the market sort things out. Creators have some say in this. Look out for your own brands and support the brands that support you. If you panic and cater to this in the short run you perpetuate the situation in the long term. If sales suffer because people can’t buy the things they like for that body, things will change.

      • Too bloody right. A bit of competition and some creative marketing and the competitors get jealous and nasty. If other creators can’t keep up they should consider leaving the basement and getting an actual job.

      • I think i understand Maitreya point on giving out few full body kits and expeically to don’t allow fullperm for them She doesn’t want to see a flood of 50L low quality fullperm resells on the marketplace for Lara and this is the only way to avoid it..Having 400 cheapo reseller selling crap at 10L doesn’t help the real designers to work and do nice stuff at decent prices

      • That might really be all it is. Keep tight controls on the kit and only give it to people you feel you can trust to avoid having it stolen. Don’t flood the market with kits and the price and quality of items that are precisely rigged for the body will stay high, Both of those decisions are logical, and they’d both be hard for the greater creator community to swallow. (“I don’t trust you not to steal it” or “The stuff you make isn’t good enough” – how’s that conversation going to go? ) So best to just trickle the kits out and say nothing about why most people aren’t getting one. I wouldn’t blame her one bit for that. And I don’t blame the creators who feel like their business is suffering as a consequence for not being satisfied with that situation and complaining. Complaining about “greed” isn’t going to change it though.

    • Yeah, I don’t understand why you would want to help her out by creating clothes to fit her body when she’s clearly not interested in reciprocating? Maitreya may be the market leader right now but we’ve already seen how fluid that market can be. If everyone bitching about the lack of openness just got together and threw their weight behind some other mesh body they could open it straight back up.

  9. Everyone knows that the SL fashion game is about who you know. You could be the best creator out there, but if you don’t play the game and kiss up to the big boys.. you’re shit outta luck.

  11. I love how Truth wined about it on facebook that he put in for his kit and never got it with the release of his crop tops…. and right away got a kit.
    I put in for a kit months ago and still havent heard anything same as truth hawks but I cant get one?
    Let her pick and choose who “deserves” it. Who’s “known” enough to have her time.
    The rest of us are struggling and feeling left out. we cannot release our work the way we want to and desperatly need in order to keep up with the demand of SL customers who wear only this body.

    • Quite frankly I think you need to stop whining. It is her body that she sells to her customers no one forces people to buy her body. There is also the slink, belleza, tmp, and a slew of other bodies make clothes for those. You do realize Maitreya also makes a living selling clothes as well. She has a right to choose who she wants to give access to her product and if she chooses not to let people she doesn’t know have access leave her alone. Quite frankly if your making clothes for the maitreya body or size shapes it shouldn’t matter customers will buy what they like and the standard sizes do fit this body as well.

    • If your customers don’t know what the deal is with Maitreya by now, that’s their fault. You really don’t have to worry about accommodating them. If they wanted to wear a wider range of clothes they’d buy another body.

      • I wear the body, and most of the mesh clothing I wear isn’t Maitreya specific. I’m not limited in the least. I try demos, make use of the alpha cuts, and layer with applier clothes. Standard sizes really do line up nicely with this body, after a few tweaks.
