  1. Ok so a month ago I bought the Fatpack Addams Lixie Super Skinny Jean (Ripped and None Ripped Versions) from Kustom9. I paid the full price. So what a shocker to find out today that the (not so old) Fatpack is being sold for half price … Is that fair? I don’t think so!

    Also I see some other items like Fatpack shoes at Reign on the MM board that I have paid full price for not so long ago … Why are these designers doing this?

    Should we just wait for them to put their stuff on MM boards or sell it at half price and not support them at events?

    I don’t mind paying to be in a group if it is worth my while. Some shops/designers just never give anything back to their loyal group members. People please we only have so many group space and if you are not going to show us some loving we will find is somewhere else!

    Oh and I totally agree with “Too many events over saturating the market. “. Feels like we getting the bad end of mass production!

    • Have you ever shopped in the real world. You know, bought clothing? Food? toilet paper? If so do you whine like this at every sale. Omg how dare the supermarket/drug store have that toilet paper on sale after you paid full price.
      Or some article of clothing or shoes go on sale after you bought it.
      SL is no different.

      • Lol I remember working retail and people would bring clothing they bought last week before the sale and request you give them the discounted price. Your comment made me think about this and sadly people do complain like this.

    • Designers in the real world do this all the time. You go to Coach and buy a $300 purse. Two months later that same purse is at a Coach outlet for 70% off the original price.

      If something doesn’t sell well, it gets marked down. If something is in high demand, there are often special prices from time to time.

      There is nothing to be mad about really. The end game is always to sell the product, whether at full price or discounted. Getting mad about $1.50 on a game is kinda sad.

      • I normally keep pretty quiet on this site and have been here from the start and the old days, it’s generally harmless stuff.

        Reading this thread and seeing somebody unravel and show what looks like behavior driven from ASPD is incredibly sobering for me.

        I remember from earlier in the year, this was the same girl who set up the flickr account to torment and was exposed as a long time stalker.

        Every word you typed is your own, so own what you did and why you post on this this site on a regular basis and the agenda you display here.

        You got caught not doing something very nice and I can imagine that’s uncomfortable and in the bluster now you are trying to direct this into other drama so you can deflect what you did. Perhaps you are have a shitty time or are mad at somebody I really don’t know. But I know it’s not worth embarrassing yourself on a website over whatever the issue is.

        Have some emotional maturity and understand what is healthy and what is really not in terms of your behavior and have compassion for people. I am really trying to have some for you after what you typed over the past months here. Is it actually worth it, I can’t imagine this makes you happy.

        Nobody is perfect, you crossed a line yes, but try and learn from it perhaps and realize that trying to harm people in all honesty on a drama website, well that only reflects on you and your need for whatever drives you to do it in the first place.

        You wrote about that “nobody actually gives a shit what’s said here”. I suspect you do care and do give a shit, it’s the reason week after week you try and keep bringing up the same agendas. It’s not exactly normal healthy behavior but that’s between you and yourself, not us.

  7. to number 1) Shiny Shabby is one of the worst events for designers, most have had their worst sales to date at that event. Though the amount of work that goes into making the items is the same, so the designer probably felt like her item did not reach a wide crowd because of shiny shabby’s awful management so they decided to at the very least offer the item as a gift.

    I think it was very nice of them.

    • Why are they having such bad sales? I have heard other events are the same too, are we finally moving on from them (I hope so)

      • I wonder if the poor sales are a result of how lag-tacular that setup is? I tried 5 times to shop there for the first round and gave up. Even with my graphics settings as low as they can go, I just couldn’t stop crashing. They need to simplify that decor considerably…

      • I think the worst event for lag is The Arcade. They used to have more sims you could be on so you could shop from viewing platforms but now they have a homestead I think and it’s a cheap sim that always crashes me. Considering the Designers pay 500,000 Linden collectively (or more like 700,000 Linden (USD 2800) with advertising and all that jazz) per round you would think they would have gotten 2 full prim sims. That would still leave the organizers with over 1000 USD profit a round!

    • Too many events with bad raps now. I don’t go to collabor88 anymore. I overheard on voice a certain house designer having a nasty go at someone over placement of a site, house designer felt she was entitled to a better spot because she said she’d been designing for the platform near on 10yrs it got really nasty I steer clear of that sort of behavior. I was shocked brits are usually so polite

      • The public aren’t there when designers set up they close the sim. I call bullshit. It’s just a attempt to bad mouth another event in SL. Somebody seems salty.

      • Nup i heard it so did my friend, it was after the event had started, said designer was wanting to move. It was like a kid having a tanty. She believed she should have another spot because her house was in “higher demand “. Just because you don’t believe it doesn’t make it not true I was there I heard it you were not. As a result I can’t be bothered with event, end of.

      • APOLOGY to Kiddo Oh and Dead Dollz and WITHDRAWAL of COMMENT

        I would like to publicly apologise to Kiddo Oh and her Dead Dollz label for my comments of October 11, 2015 at 8:28 pm and withdraw my comment, especially the second and third paragraphs. The reason for this are:

        I did not conduct a full search of my inventory for they dress in question prior to my statement a replacement was never sent. It was suggested to me I should do a full inventory search using the name of the dress exactly as used by Kiddo Oh on the Dead Dollzs vendor and dress.

        When I did this search I found that Kiddo Oh had sent my a replacement dress immediately after she had received my email and days before I made my comment here. The only person at fault is myself for not checking correctly and this is why I am withdrawing my comment and making this public apology.

        My October 11 comment was the first and only comment I shall make on this site as after reading back for a few months it is clear a number of people making comments are simply using the site to conduct personal attacks on others or to drag some private dispute before the public.

        Before anyone thinks or says I am withdrawing my comment and making this public apology because of what Kiddo Oh said to me I would like to say I have not been in SL for three days nor checked my IM’s to email and al I know about Kiddo Oh contacting me is her comment which I read when went here to make my apology.

        As to the Vesper Dress Black sold at Shiny Shabby and the Vesper Dress Brown available as a Group Gift, I was foolish and immature in listening to a group of people I had regarded as friends and their collective moaning and groaning about it after one of them read comment #1 tole the rest of us about it and suggested we comment.
        I am an adult and responsible for my own actions and am not saying my comment was anyone’s fault but mine. I was stupid and allowed myself to go along with etc suggestion of others rather than think for myself.

        My personal opinion made alone and without suggestions from others is that myself and everyone else who bought the Vesper BlACK at Shiny Shabby did so because we wanted the dress. We saw the dress, liked it, saw the price and freely paid the price asked, end of transaction. That Kiddo Oh later made Vesper BROWN available as a Group Gift doesn’t change etc fact every one who bought Vesper BlACK at Shiny Shabby did so because they wanted to and they were prepared to pay etc price asked.

        All that Kiddo Oh did by offering Vesper BROWN as a Group Gift was to give group members a second color for free, it has nothing to do with my or anyone else’s decision to buy Vesper Black.

        I shall be sending Kiddo Oh a notecard with a copy of this withdrawl of my comment and the public apology as well as my personal apology and I shall continue to shop at Dead Dollz.

      • I think it’s pretty awesome when people admit they made mistakes and apologize. It doesn’t matter if it’s anonymous here, it is the fact that they contacted the creator/creators themselves under their name and discussed it with them that matters.

        It’s become quite apparent in dealing with many people that apologizing or admitting you were wrong or even changing your opinion because you a) did research or b) had a discussion and someone swayed you makes you weak or stupid. I don’t get that, that’s not how the adult world works.

        I’ve modified the comment they wish to withdrawl. I’m late, but I’m dealing with a big project so I don’t want to deal with anything technology related and haven’t checked the site.

  9. Creators have been putting exclusive colors of items as gifts for years, not really news or rude at all. Free dress is a free dress.

    • Yes but normally the group gift is released at the same time as the full price version and functions as a wearable demo?

      If you loved the dress enough to pay full price for it, you’d probably just be happy to get it in another colourway for free. But sales events work because people like to think they’re getting a bargain. If they pay for something which is given away a few days later, that’s kind of the opposite of a bargain. It’s not ethically wrong so much as commercially naive, because making your customers feel stupid is rarely good for business.

      • But I don’t believe Shiny Shabby is a bargain or discount event. I’m pretty sure most items are sold their at full price.

        Maybe the dress was super popular and she got a lot of requests for it in brown. If that is the case, wouldn’t it be admirable for her to offer that requested color for free instead of saying “Hey, it’s in brown! Come buy it! I wan your money!”?

    For my haters that decided to make drama into an SL Secret: I put more work into the blogs I manage then any other blog manager I know. So If all I am good for is sucking pixel dick then please excuse the wide array of stores that respect me and thank me regularly for my hard work. Salty bitches talking shit about me for no reason and going too far. Why you mad? Is it because your stores fail on a regular basis while the stores I manage continue to climb the SL Fame train? Work harder.

    This weekend I’ve been called Fake, Bitch, Liar, Whore, Cunt and a long list of other names. And none of the drama involves me. So plllleeaasseee! continue to bring attention to my fabulous self. Assholes.

      • yeah it’s gotta be at least 5″ or it’s just no fun. Thickness counts for a lot, but at least average length is necessary. Six or seven inches is even better, unless it’s your first go at things ever. In which case, smaller is not all that bad. Size sometimes matters.

      • It doesn’t upload if it doesn’t at least meet the requirements it can be smaller or rectangular but has to least be in that ballpark. You should try it sometime before you assume.

  13. Yea, it is, because you just got it in ANOTHER color. So essentially you got 2 dresses for the price of one.

    The dress was given as a gift in a color that wasn’t available for sale. So, again, if you already bought it in another color, you can go ahead and get it in brown for free and now you have two options.

    I don’t honestly see how anyone can complain about it. They are offering customers something *free* that they can add to their collection. If she had sold it in brown at the event to begin with, would you have bought in brown? Yes? Ok, so think of it as you paid for the brown one and got black for free. Would you not have purchased brown? Then, hey you got a free dress in brown. Awesome.

    I mean…it’s 250L we’re talking about. You guys really want to shit on a designer for offering a free gift? This just doesn’t make any sense, lol.
