#9 actually that trainwreck looks almost like RL me, only my ass is somewhat smaller. My SL avatar looks nothing like that (I already have RL to suffer people like you thinking that I’m a trainwreck of a woman), so in SL I’m usually slim, muscular, and wear a V-Tech flat chest, but that’s my choice. I think #11 shape is way more unrealistic. If the thighs are that thick, there is no way the gap between them in that pose is that wide (unless they had some freaky inner thigh surgery), but even if the shoulders look unnaturally narrow, it could happen.

My comment makes PLENTY SENSE. To sum it up: Fox Hollow has bigger events that last for longer times and a long list of workplaces but their managers are not good. Cedar Creek has smaller events and a short list of jobs but their managers are good. If you think management doesn’t have a hand in someone’s RP experience IN the RP estate that THEY ARE MANAGING then you don’t know much.

Everyone complains SL lags but don’t realize it’s more the creations creators put out than SL it’s self, Lunar releasing an outfit with 3.2Mill triangles, that’s 20 Maitreya bodies.
The benchmark superposition I think maxes out at 15 million triangles in a scene, a benchmark designed to be over done and push a gpu to it’s max, the backbone store alone has more polys in a scene than a real benchmark, SL would run great if creators would learn how to mesh with lower poly and use materials right.

Everyone seems to think it’s a matter of not having the money. It’s about equity. As a gay man, my option is to buy the most expensive version of their furniture every time I choose to shop there. Why would I want to shop at a place that charges me more for stuff than it’s hetero clientele? Why would I want to pay for a bunch of hetero animations in the Adult+ version they want me to buy? And finally; Why wouldn’t I tell other gay people that if they want to shop at BackBone, that they can expect the same?
Also I find it interesting how everyone chooses to infantilize anything said negatively about their precious BackBone. Your perception of “whining” and “crying” seem to be off the mark here. I, along with everyone else choosing to share this stuff, are simply pointing out something that BackBone themselves has written on their wall.
So the thought of “Oh this store does not sell what I am looking for, I will go somewhere else” never crossed your mind? Or maybe “Hey, I can’t find this in SL, maybe I should create it” what is that too hard? That is where the equity you’re talking about comes into play. We all equally have the ability to learn and create in SL. The starting playing field is always level for all of us. Trying to introduce some bullshit about how a store won’t give you what you want, to the point of trying to demand and boycott them? It’s a middle school bitch fest. Backbone does not owe anyone anything. They create for themselves first, us second.
Looking at a recent release and breaking it down… the “hetero” version has 152 animations for 3099L (20.39L/anim) vs “adult+” for 4099L with 217 animations (18.89L/anim). Now…. it has been a while since I played with some adult furniture, but I’d be willing to bet that there are quite a few animations that could “crossover” between some or all orientations. It seems to me that this “gay tax” is actually just a better deal, overall, and everyone so up in arms about it might need to step back and really consider all aspects before jumping into justice warrior mode.
And for the love of all things rainbow, STOP SUGGESTING N4RS! Lol if you want a creator to go after, go after them for excluding lesbians in their releases. Literally go look at their store on MP lol, its all PG, MF, or MM. Where’s the FF? I’m at another store, that’s where.
You do get the simple solution here is to offer individual animation sets instead of forcing LGBTQ+ people to buy what is essentially a fat pack. But back bone isn’t going to do that because they’d lost a massive slice of their profits. That’s their choice. It’s a shitty unethical choice, but it’s theirs to make. This just the consequences of making that choice.
Like, the cost per animation doesn’t matter if you’re only going to use the scant few available in the fat pack. This isn’t like an item of clothing coming with an texture option exclusively sold in a fat pack. You can still wear the item of clothing sold with an individual texture. It still fits. It’s still an option. This is a “I can’t use this furniture unless I buy the fat pack” situation. It literally doesn’t fit. They’d be a-ok if they’d opt to offer exclusive texture options in what is essentially a fat pack.
And yeah.. there’s a lot of cross over options for female mesh body on female mesh body. The female bodies are smaller and you can fit a smaller body into an animation created for a larger body. But the hetro versions don’t work nearly as well for male mesh body on male mesh body. The female animations are meant for smaller bodies.. a larger body doesn’t fit in there nearly as easily.
But they aren’t overcharging all queer people. It’s the gay and lesbian animations that are extra cost. The PG animations are borked no matter what gender you are because of SL’s ridiculous height problem and tendency to not support plus sized avatars and have to be adjusted anyhow. Trying the PG cuddles on my adult av proved that even if you have a male and a female avatar, if the male isn’t much taller than the female, they don’t all work right.
Then again, I get the PG stuff so I can sit and play video games and because it looks all holo and sparkly.

I have nothing against high poly mesh because it’s great for the photo community where they want max realism and FPS doesn’t matter. But making products that are meant to be rezzed out all the time should be done like they’re for a game.
Example of a creator that makes great looking optimized mesh is BezelBubble I have a skirt from them that’s like 10k triangles then a similar skirt made by blueberry 160k triangles… WHY there’s No need if textured properly with materials.

I bet even TNT doesn’t have gay only PG furniture… but Backbone is the bad guy because they don’t do this thing that no one else does. LOL
