SL is about fantasy, money, and whatever the hell else it wants to be. If you proceed into it, accept now you will cry, be catfished, swindled, hurt, called names, hated upon, gossiped about, lead down the shit hole path, lose a chunk of your real life, gain weight, and likely wish you could TP everywhere. I’d also love to know what she says about him claiming her as his rl daughter or the fact that he’s using her name for his businesses (He does have a listing on MP for a coffin under the Sorciere name). Or just in general, her response about him.

I personally prefer people to play their own race- unless they are the constant changing type for whatever reason, like bloggers often are, and some others that might be white one day, brown another, green or blue another; those people aren’t really misrepresenting themselves, since they don’t have any “regular” appearance, and they actually treat their avi like a doll instead of a virtual representation of themselves.
People who consistently live in another race avi though… eh. I mean it’s one thing if they’re honest about their rl race up front, but it’s still something I side-eye. Frankly it’s way too common that they’re living some kind of gross racist stereotype or using it as some kind of fetish (I’ve heard from guys that it’s easier to get pixel laid in a black avatar; WTF, ladies who throw themselves at any brown pixels- can you not be like that please), and that shit is revolting to me. I actually had an alt that was dark skinned. She had an egyptian god name and had dark skin with facial markings similar to like Chakotay of Star Trek Voyager. I loved logging in as her. If I ever talked to people and got close to them (I generally stuck around the same group of friends, even under my alt, so they already knew me) I’d explain that I wasn’t like my avatar.
Second Life is a real social platform as one of the main focuses of it is to socialise. No matter how you want to twist it, Second Life is a game based around socialisation. Your entire post is pulling at loose strings, trying to find something that you can pull down to use as a façade for your argument. It is riddled with biased reasons and topics you have yet to explore, yet you still offer your two cents on those same subjects. The whole point of roleplaying is to play the role and style of someone else. This is why I despise roleplay places like Mischief Managed as they are mediocre places with mediocre roleplayers that act like they are elites when they are barely below beginner level. It is not racist or blackfacing to play as a ghetto character. It is nothing more than stereotyping and following a cliché. Most inexperienced people will do this or follow a style so disgustingly close that it is their identity. See, you are going to sex places, the lowest of the low where the uncreative lurk and the moronic linger. Do you really expect someone to actually be decent at roleplay there? I can assume all the men are muscular, covered in tattoos, having facial piercings, and their penis is set to max size.
