Nah, I was up north getting paperwork for next job setup. Own a domain, register a new domain, buy anything online, put your number visible online like facebook unless you use privacy to block it from public view, put your number ANYWHERE online. I get about 25 calls a day from telemarketers and scams. I dont answer my phone much anymore. It happens
My phone number was recycled from someone who literally signed up for everything. After a year I still get them. Blocking them just makes them call form a new number. I would suggest only answering the phone if you know the number, because if you pick up, that just gives them more reasons to call because they know it’s an active number. It could take some time, but they’ll stop calling if you don’t respond.

I decided to try a Revoul demo this week after finding one of their stupid morphs at some event. The different body skin styles seemed interesting. Sadly, it was total trash; orange tones on everything not super pale or super dark, blurry details (especially on the body), face lacks any kind of pore/texture detail so it looks flat and fake, shadows are too dark and smeared- if you’re used to high quality skins, you will be horrified that they’re trying to pass this shit off in the same category.
Oh, and #2- you definitely *can* do that. You just have to care more about quality than you do about popularity. You have to be more interested in the art than the greed. Creators who do Lara only are simply saying they aren’t interested in what’s good, just what makes an easy dollar.

LAQ makes beautiful heads and skin, they are so versaitile between all the different heads, skins, shapes, literally no two are alike. You should join their group and watch the chat, we are constantly posting our pics and you can see all the different ones. To get your first head there, yes, it runs about 5000L, just the same as the others out there, you get the bento head, skin applier for your head, and the hud. BUT, the great think about the hud is you only buy it once and it works with all LAQ bento heads…so if you want another one, two or three heads, they are just 1500L ea, instead of the 5000L. like Catwa does (buying the same hud over and over)
Laq heads have terrible animations, bad teeth positioning, and lip rigging issues. They cannot smile right and bento animations that affect lips make them do very odd things. It’s a shame because they’re pretty heads with an easy to understand HUD and very few of them suffer from the dreaded side duck lips..
If someone wants to give a mesh head they made away for free then that is their own business. For another mesh head maker to stick their noses in like that is out of line.

LAQ has sales where they put a head out for that kind of price too; Mayreal heads are not bad and very reasonably priced, as well. Even making a simple, non-rigged mesh is a significant amount of work. Making one that works with bento animations is exponentially more work and all these people salivating at the idea of someone giving that away is pretty fucking cringey. You should be willing to pay for nice things if you want them, people.
I love my Mayreal head. It took me almost 2 years to find a head that was versatile with sliders, didn’t cost an arm and a leg and had full features. I almost went with the 500L Normie head but the features were so limited…meh. Anyone paying 5k+ for a head is an idiot. Don’t fall for what everyone has, and go demo. I’m happy with my Catwa head, since it’s one of the models that all the basic thots ignored (they gotta have that ski jump upper lip, yaknow). I guess she’s a terrible person now or something, but since I’ll probably never buy another head from her it doesn’t really affect me that much. I don’t feel like I overpaid because of the updates, the animations, and widespread support, but I certainly wouldn’t discourage anyone from using something like Mayreal. The only creator I would discourage, if asked my opinion, is Lelutka, and only for female heads. I hear the HUDs are nice, but goddamn they are all so flat and therefore instantly recognizable.
Vista heads are consistently getting better as well, similar in price to Mayreal, and Vista makes animations for them so they’re also a good idea I forgot to mention before. I would fucking love if people branched out and we started seeing more unique faces on the grid; so many people trying to be the same pouty, squinty clone is so boring.
I just think it’s distasteful to expect to do so for free.

Events suck, patronizing them simply adds more greed to them to create an overflow of awful “events” with awful products. Some barely half full anymore. Could not agree with you more. I use to love going to the fashion shows in SL. A creator would put together a season of clothing and it was amazing. It was close to RL in a sense. You would see an outfit from say, Leezu and know immediately it was Leezu. There was no guessing cause their creativity was signature to what they were doing. I could pick out a DE design outfit from across a sim. When I look at event products now I think “This is the same dress, from that other event and that other event….etc” There have been times when I see something at an event I might like creatively and I go looking for that stores mainstore to see more items and low and behold they don’t even have a store in SL. How does that even work for the SL economy?
Templates have ruined originality I hate to say. For men especially who are already behind the 8 ball in terms of fashion and originality that is. When I first discovered Etham I was amazed at the textures, etc. Now it’s recycled nonsense all the damn time. Not having a mainstore or even a MP store is imploding the economy that is already been in the shitter for years. There will be an endgame and sadly we all will be the losers if this does not change sooner then later.

I can understand the person getting on the subscriber list for Sense and stuff I to have been getting on a subscriber list for some events that I’ve never gone to or have step foot in and I’m still on their list and I unsubscribe and they still get me and I’ve talked to someone that owns the events and they tell me to talk to the person that owns the the subscriber. There was a person I used to know on SL, he started talking after a couple years about being on probation for a few years over an alleged (he says false) story that he molested a child. Then there were rumors about him role playing.
I found his record online, I a probation officer and asked questions about it as it is public record. Though this guy was no longer on probation when I called them, if he was caught doing age play online on probation, he would be in jail.

Just to correct your statement – child avatars are not barred from Adult sims. The rating on the sim is not for the avatar itself, but the content which populates it that would bar someone based on RL age. The 16-18 year old players, for example, are not allowed on Adult sims and that is what the rating is for is to differentiate those sims from the general or moderate sims that those players are allowed on.
The size of the avatar itself does not disallow someone access to an adult sim – only their RL age. Because of association to ageplay and pedophilia, child avatars are not allowed within a vicinity of sexual items (sex toys, sex furniture, sex-play paraphernalia, etc.) which are commonly found on adult rated sims – this does not bar them from the actual sim.
It clarifies this in the TOS because what you stated is a common misconception.

You’re right. I don’t know how to make much of anything in SL. I also do not know how to make designer clothes or furniture or shoes or wigs in RL, but I can still critique it. Many of these so-called “creators” rely on templates and stolen 3d models. I don’t call that creativity. I can understand template usage when someone is new to creating, but at some point, the templates need to go. Some designers may make good stuff, but their atrocious/unrealistic ads, morphing, daz rendering, charging 1L for demos, and complete lack of customer service will hurt their bottom line. I have no problem with calling those designers out publicly.
I also have a problem with what I call hooker wear, but then again hookers/strippers must have something to wear in order to strip in the first place, so I grant them some leeway. I just wish the market wasn’t so heavily tilted toward underboob and snatch catch.
Critiquing something is different than bashing and “outing” on SL secrets. You can critique something by actually contacting the creator and giving your feedback, this here is just mean and uncalled for. I have an odd feeling that either you are a creator, or you are friends with some of them and think similar to them. But guess what, no one should be above being publically criticized. A lot of the critique that shows up in the secrets includes a mention of how rude the creator responds directly to questions or criticism, and when you see the comments from the creators that actually do respond here, they rarely do anything to make themselves look better as far as behaving professionally, like they care about their reputation. Anxious or shy people might be too afraid to reach out to a creator directly, which is admittedly not the creator’s fault, but it does explain why they’d choose an anonymous outlet. On top of that, many creators simply do not respond to IMs or notecards that ask questions they don’t want to answer. Yes, someone might be posting here just to be petty- it is the purpose of the site, after all- but they could also have done all the things you’re suggesting first, or know people who have. I myself rarely receive a response to even the most kindly and encouragingly worded notecards suggesting a Lara only creator expand their options, so this isn’t just conjecture. The ability to create isn’t required for criticism in a consumer context. If we could all just make our own stuff, no one would be making money off it, so it’s a bit self-defeating to insist only creators have valid opinions. We can all pick up items from different creators and compare them for ourselves to see the difference in quality.
