Events were originally supposed to showcase a creator or give an avenue of advertisement to a creator to help expand their customer base. Now most creators have their hands so deep in many events; that’s all they create for and get overwhelmed to the point they start pumping out crappy and cheap items.
If you’re that butthurt about people not visiting mainstore locations, you must be one of these creators that needs to re-evaluate what customers you’re trying to attract. It certainly doesn’t sound like you’re interested in gaining a loyal following of customers but are more interested in screwing over everyone with shoddy product.
Don’t you and all have something to do beside living up to drama? That is who you and all are that cannot be change and must have a low life in real life. While I agree with you to an extent (it’s fantasy and it is what you make it, you do you as long as you’re not doing anything against TOS), there’s a big difference between someone who is a professional sex worker and is in the business of selling a fantasy, and someone who uses SL the same way they use their social media. Some people are transparent and just want genuine connection in one way or another, others use it just to roleplay or to be deliberately deceptive in order to fuck with others. Part of what’s tricky about SL is that it’s full of people who view it and use it in different ways.

i understand what you mean but when you log into a role play client you shouldn’t be expecting e-harmony. They have sites specifically for dating all over the internet. Whoever wrote #1, you’re just gross. Most of SL is fantasy. When you hire an escort, you’re paying for both the fantasy and the time of the person behind the hot avi that is helping to create the fantasy, whether it’s text or voice. Whether or not someone is disabled, a normie, fat, skinny, rich, poor, beautiful, ugly as shit, makes 6 figures a year or is unemployed, lives in their mom’s basement; etc doesn’t come into play because once again, this is fantasy and all that matters is that they like what the person is offering and money exchanged hands. 24 – Have you ever thought of using the alpha hud before complaining that it’s “badly rigged”? You know, because it’s there for that very reason…
It’s a bodysuit. You can hide your whole damn body and it will, funnily enough, LOOK FINE. Just a suggestion.
If it that one strip of fabric, the area of the alpha is too large to actually alpha out that one section.
I don’t think the alpha hud is the issue. If you’re clipping that badly with slider settings at bare minimums, it’s a shit rig and doesn’t move right with the body sliders. The fact it’s clipping through the boobs reminds me of Ye Olde Standard Sizes instead of body specific clothing.
It still doesn’t matter. That is what the alpha hud is for. I have tons of clothes made from “high end” designers that are made exclusively for Maitreya and my boobs or sometimes just my nips still show through. Instead of getting all entitled about it, I use the alpha hud and move along with my day. There’s no reason to have your tits and skin under your clothes still there “showing” when you’re out in public (and especially in a busy sim.) Without the alpha, you’re still rendering your body parts that aren’t hidden by it and causing undue lag. Besides, it’s virtual reality. If you want realism, shut off the computer and go outside.
You do know that your complexity isn’t effected by alpha’ing your body parts right? Nobody is causing or avoiding lag in anyway whether they alpha or don’t alpha. It doesn’t change anything. The complexity of the body of itself is what it is. What CAN change your complexity is higher resolution textures used as your skins, makeups etc. Any texture with “alpha” transparency actually is HIGHER complexity than solid flat textures. coughs.
As for rigging? By that photo that is rigged for shit. The only parts of the body should legit possibly have issues “in movement not static standing” is the arms around elbows and shoulders, the legs around knees and calves. That is because these areas are lacking in enough points for rigging to make it 100% accurate for designers to always get smooth at all sliders. ALL other places including nipples and crotch have no excuses to ever need be alpha’d beside crappy rigging.
If a designer is routinely having these issues. This is NOT a high end designer. This is a bad lazy designer that doesnt want to take the time to fix their shit properly. Don’t support or make excuses for them. Make them accountable for their fixable flaws.
Read the damn wiki on rendering complexity before you open your mouth about alpha layers. “An excellent example of this would be removing your mesh feet while wearing a pair of knee high boots. No one can actually see your feet inside the boots, yet every viewer will still have to “think” about them. Removing them and then adding your feet back when you remove the boots later will help everyone lag less. ”
If you’re wearing the item, even if it can’t be seen, the server still has to retrieve that information. It works the same way if you’re wearing a system layer bra and undies under your mesh clothes as opposed to just using your hud to hide your bits. This is why your rendering cost goes to fucking zero when you wear a full body alpha over your system body, because you’re not wearing any scripts, huds, attachments – nada. You dumb fuck. Stop sitting here and making excuses for why your entitled ass wants to wear 10 different huds and scripted layers to a packed sim and then wonder why you’re getting jelly dolled out or derendered completely by smart folks for causing lag.

You know, the mesh clothes that had a set in stone shape and where it didn’t matter what your body shape was because you alphaed it all out? If it was just a nip poke or like it is on the legs, yeah fine, but that much of the boob poking out says the chest isn’t rigged right and the outfit has a specific shape you can’t change – like standard size mesh.
Unless your boobs are at extreme sizes, they shouldn’t poke through that much. Even if you’re going to alpha everything out, you’re being left with a predetermined size. Do you get what I’m saying?

Besides the fact that all of that can be alpha’d, I guess nobody is going to comment on the fact that, that wasn’t a size 0 shape and the gravity of the breasts were set way too low. I bought that suit as well and I don’t use Maitreya, I only use freya and I just alpha’d out the whole thing. Like the other said, it’s not hard to ALPHA out anything, takes seconds LOL, still looks just as good.
I don’t know what world you live in, but 9 times out of 10 no matter how good the rigging of something is, you’ll need to alpha. Maitreya Dev Kits are NOT perfect. Most of the time creators have to do guesswork to get things to fit so it will never be 100% until Onyx decides to give us the ACTUAL Dev Kit. Instead of going off, take the time to learn how this stuff is actually made. Educate YOURSELF.
You still need to use the alpha hud. Maitreya doesn’t release their body information and creators have to “guess” at it. This is why you see in some packages, “BETA” by the name of the item (for the Maitreya versions). That’s not the creators fault. They’re doing the best they can. You can try not being lazy and use the alpha hud. Also, the auto hide scripts are so complicated that most people can’t figure it out. Go get the set, then try it for yourself…then come back here and bitch. Whatever, Dude.

I had one item I purchased with that nasty script in it and it didn’t even need it…so I have to go back in to my HUD just to remove it when I want to change clothing, Ugh. Inconvenient. It doesn’t take but a few seconds to alpha yourself anyway if and when YOU want to, Not when it’s something IMPOSED on you by a stupid script.
