Caspervend IS having a lot of problems. I’ve been hearing from a lot of my creator friends who use it (I do too) of the same experiences. Transactions being dropped (has happened to me also), items being distributed with the wrong permissions (happened to me too!), horrible customer service and Casper himself being rude to customers, among other issues. I’ve seen chat logs and talked to other merchants with the same issues, so no, it’s not all made up and people aren’t (all) talking shite. I’m sure there are people out there being wankers and talking shite, there always is when someone gets to be as big as Caspervend is. It’s inevitable and it’s SL. Drama thrives there, sadly. Casper is losing customers because of all those reasons listed, and it’s enough that a lot of merchants are leaving for other systems. Their CS is ass, the owner treats most like they’re retarded children, and the issues just keep getting worse and worse is what I hear the most. I personally have only ever had maybe one issue (other than when SL goes down, DDOS attacks and other things that affect the entire grid), but I’ve had this one issue repeatedly, with luck I’ve found a fix for it though. I’m hoping it does because I like the system. I wish it had some other key features, but there’s a forum for suggestions and info on what he’s currently working on implementing. If it doesn’t fix it, then I may go with another suggestion from my friend who says it has more options, friendlier CS and from word of mouth from it’s current and new users, no issues at all except when SL goes down. We’ve thankfully not experienced any of these problems everyone is having lately (and we have enough vendors that any major issues would be painful for us). Every time we’ve dealt with their CSRs, it’s been pretty straightforward as well. Just kinda tossing out there that it’s not entirely the picture being painted here.
@mee2…. I can also say that Casper does have issues and rather rude customer service as well. Everything you mentioned I have experienced with them. It got to the point where we decided to change systems because it was easier than dealing with the creator.
Casper has some of the best support staff around who are available practically around the clock via chat, not to mention all the other customers who are quick to help answer questions as well. Funny you don’t mention it. Also, the “novel” of a user manual is easily searchable and hot-linked. At least he’s thorough.

I never understood why people choose working at a strip club or escort service as their job in SL. they are literally making pennies in rl cash and spending all their time doing it so when do they actually get a chance to spend the lindens in world? If it gets them off, thats one thing but to actually use this as your source of income is ridiculous and kind of sad when the pay is lower than minimum wage.
Me personally when I did it, i was doing it when I had the spare time when I wasn’t working in RL it was a good way to fund my shopping habits, i usually made about 5k a week which was a nice bit of change lol. If i wasn’t working full time RL I’d go back to doing it because it was a lot of fun and the people I worked with were awesome!!

My SL lover banks $300-$400 a month USD from SL stripping and escorting. Which is a lot for 3rd world currency and more than some mesh creators make. Mostly does it for fun though. Always happy, in a good mood and engaged with clients in SL without drama. Mostly used tips for SL stuff (new outfits) but now saved for things like a plane ticket. So SL stripping and escorting for fun after work paid for a plane ticket and other misc. RL stuff. Not bad for a hobby. — People don’t mind paying a few dollars for a one-on-one fantasy sex experience instead of paying triple that to see a cam model do something for 5 seconds.

Renders are the next natural evolution step after creators started photoshoping their prim clothes to brush off the joints back in the day.
There’s no denying they are a lot more visually appealing, that’s what advertising is all about, and anyone that doesn’t do it is soon gonna fall behind.
To everyone that complains, when was the last time you bought ANYTHING being sold with a non-edited picture ad?
That’s right… anyone that doesn’t put a serious production behind their ads get no sales, there’s more post-production in the ads of the stuff you buy than SL itself.
But like all advertising there’s a little something called “reasonable expectation” it’s what prevents people from suing a company like McDonalds when the burger they get looks nothing like the ad, and for that in SL you have something called a DEMO!
If you wanna complain, complain about demos that don’t show you all the color options, I’m not just interested in how it fits, I’m interested on how the textures look in world.
That’s something you can take and complain to the creators, not just bitch and moan here, send IMs and notecards, one or two isn’t gonna go anything, but a few dozen you can bet they will start making better demos.
While you are complaining remember to complain about 1L$ demos too, you shouldn’t be charged to try ANYTHING.
And as always, don’t buy without trying a FREE DEMO.
The issue with renders is that renders are a differently technology that is un-compatible with SL. It’s very different from staging an item or even touching it up in PS to make it more appealing. Those photos are taken inside SL with SL’s technology, on SL avatars and on SL shapes, with SL lighting, of course you will use everything SL has to offer to make your product look as good as it can IN SL.
Renders on the other hand are a completely different technology, they are rendered in a 3rd party program on avatars that are nothing like SL avatars, lighting that is nothing like SL, materials and shaders that look nothing like SL, it’s completely false advertising that is why people seem upset about them. I personally don’t care but I can see how a shopper could look at the ad and then try on the item and get annoyed that they look so different.
As an ex employee of purrfect pussy, can confirm. They’re assholes to work for. I used to be there for sometimes 12 hours at a time, and i’d get about…. L$500 lindens because people just didn’t tip because it’s just used as a hangout. If I didn’t come on to the sim when they called for people to come down, you’d get serious shit. I missed three calls once and was fired, but after enduring about an hours’ verbal abuse, I was oh-so graciously allowed to return. Why the fuck should we make special efforts to go there when the patrons dont tip? But apparently, we had to.
There ARE dudes that are dancing there, there ARE underage looking girls dancing there. You make precisely ZERO money and have to endure the bitching that went with it. If you weren’t in the clique, you weren’t shit.

Let’s not forget the hiring of a 14 year old, openly and very publicly around clients and other staff mocking a staff member for needing to take medication, the owner using their “family members” to get close to people to spy on them pretending to be their friends then using anything said to manipulate and steal from them, trash talking clients behind their backs and mocking them (I checked the owner’s profile out of curiosity after reading this and she openly mocks clients in her PICKS). They used to have Loli art up on the walls, which is gone currently, now they are allowing default kemono chests users dance for tips and they absolutely look like children.
I agree that many places like tpp need to also be called out but I only know about this one personally because a friend of mine used to rent a shop there and had made a few friends with now ex-dancers.
I had a friend who worked there, after being abused verbally she left styraight away. So why work at a place that you don’t make money and put in a ton load of hours when you can make money and not be abused elsewhere.
Mornings All… Sunday was a rather busy day for me so alas brunch had to be delayed till today but I have brought extra pastries and of course coffee to make up for the delay. But!.. we need to remember that creators have a lot on their plate and not all of them have a team to help with the load to keep up with the event deadlines and such. Vendor photos can often be at the bottom of priorities because of this even though they are important. One also needs to remember that good SL pics take time so the creators using renders as adverts are probably just doing it to save time but still have a quality photo. This by no means is me supporting this practice or saying they have a valid excuse… personally I do not buy from creators who do this because my train of thought on it is “If they are cutting corners and opting for easy quick fixes there; then what kind of corners are they cutting with the actual creation of the product?”. If they need to have a time saver option for vendor pics the much better choice would be to outsource the pic taking to a photographer… but that requires spending money so I guess these creators are “Cheap” as well. If you don’t even have enough information about daz to give a basic generic overview of the steps required how do you know it saves time? are you stupid? Renders arent easy to render at all and not cheap, since you need a good enough pc to do it. It also “eats” the GPU pretty fast and have to replace them very often. Some scenes can take up to 2 hours to render them properly. Please educate yourself before spewing this type of b/s.
Typically if you have a computer capable of 3d modeling you can render one to. You dont have to be there to watch the render you can start it and just let it go. It’s better to watch it to make sure it doesn’t crash but normally speaking you can get away with running a render while you sleep at night. It’s probably wouldnt take 2 hours to render a scene like the one shown here with only two models there clothes and a light source or two. You wouldnt even need to import it into a different program from blender. Blender does rendering, posing, and modeling in one program.
Actually, I do know a thing or 2 about renders I have worked for a creator who used renders for pics. This creator did it to “save time” . Yes, rendering them can take a couple of hours but doing a well made SL pic that properly shows the product can take much longer. Also, if I remember correctly when these are “rendering” you don’t have to even be at your computer so there is the ability to multitask during these said hours where as you can take quite a bit of time just setting up for an SL pic but then spend much more with the actual photo taking and then Photoshop end of the pic where you have to be at your computer the whole time with the very hands on process.
I actually take quite a bit of SL photos and from start to finish with things like pose making, outfit creation, & decor setup… then the photo angle, lighting, and taking the raws… and then last but not least sitting in Photoshop fine tuning the pic for actual release. I’d love it if all that only took 2 hours but alas depending on what I’m doing it can take anywhere from 6hrs to sometimes 2 days.

I absolutely adore Candydoll, but her stuff is coming out of the vendors at No Copy. So yes I do believe it’s not setup correctly. Did a search in my inventory cause I had remembered seeing stuff set that way and was wondering why since it’s not gacha.

It is possible that the script and the Capervend system are not playing well together, but the Caspervend support did go into her system later to help her fix the issue and it was exactly as they kept trying to tell her, that her system itself was not set up with the proper permissions. I use Caspervend and I do admit, the original set-up of the system is a bit of a pain, but if you follow the instructions exactly how they explain it for setting up, you will be fine. If you miss any steps though, when you are doing that set-up, you’re screwed and you will have issues like this occurring.
i just know usually unpackers are no copy when put in the item so they even screw up redelivery because items come out like gachas

@Casper Vendt thing: Whomever is responding to … well … anyone trying to communicate with the vendor system shop is definitely in the wrong. Why? That shop does not exist any longer or at least they have no more servers with databases and there had been people transferring to other systems all over the grid. Candydoll apparently missed that and her customers reported it not working which well … is correct as it would not be. I am not sure if any functions would still respond as ‘demo’ and ‘rezz’ ones went out first so maybe the ‘pay’ one still works. Absolutely no idea on their reviews for when they still existed but the response Candydoll got suggest there is a scammer around or leftover staff. They definitely went bankrupt so advising to move is not being mean but … logical.
Caspervend is still up and running.
E2V is the one that retired that everyone switched from. Candydoll switched from E2V to Caspervend recently due to the retirement.

I’m not part of some pitchfork wielding mob, I’m one person and I’ve asked challenging questions but don’t mistake that for complaints about how you do things. I think you’ve just spent too much time being abused here and you’re on edge every time someone says anything about this site. #49 – You’re attacking the quality of Candydoll clothes? Seriously? I’ve never noticed a significant difference between the vendor ads and inworld appearance of her actual clothing- of course the models and their skins don’t look like SL, but Candydoll mesh and texture quality is very high, and I own a lot of it. From the included photo, it looks like the secret maker’s pc is a potato- that, and perhaps she doesn’t understand what her stick thin, thigh-gapped shape does to a RIGGED mesh that is affected by her sliders. If you can’t enable materials or shadows, yes, your SL is going to be uglier than people who have better hardware. If you make all your “curves” with the hip width slider and ignore things like muscle, body fat, and saddlebags/love handles, things are going to look worse on you than people who are better at making shapes. Duh.
Just throwing this out there, I really don’t see that much of a difference between the ad and the actual. The ad is on an optimized body. Just like in real life when I see clothing on a mannequin or model. Their body is not mine, so I must try it on. Same thing as demos.
I think it’s annoying that people use rendered ads for their stuff, but I understand why they do it. Creation happens outside of SL 100 percent now. It’s an extra step and an annoying step to take the vendor ads inworld and then take them out of world and back in. It’s just easier to do all the creating out of world. Creating clothing in SL is annoying, only the hardcore keep at it and more power to them because it’s a lot of work.
We’ll to be honest the average SL person buying the product will have their graphic settings on medium by default which looks about where the settings are in that pic. Sure you probably can go around the grid with graphics on ultra advance lighting and shadows turned on, but enter a sim with unoptimized mesh and more than 10 avatars and it’s crash city.
As for the shape. That’s about the average pony girl shape that is so popular now. Even without all that it should still look decent on any shape that isn’t an extreme. But I also advocate for trying demos.
When I shopped I always grabbed a ton of demos and went back to my platform and tried them on. Very rarely did I demo in store or at the event. I needed to test it different lighting and poses. But that is from a bloggers perspective.
Eh, I only threw in the part about the shape because the primary difference in those two images- with the graphical bells and whistles aside- is that the rendered models have a more realistic shape than apparently, the creator LOL it does make me wonder how someone can’t see that when they spend so much time looking at those renders, but oh well.
It’s all good, I’ll keep giving her money as long as she keeps putting out quality products, and people with very little to do will still keep crying about where the vendor ads are taken even though it’s the silliest non-issue I’ve seen on here in months. I’ve never depended on vendor ads to tell me how something looks, because I’ve always had a highly customized shape and I never trust other people’s photos, no matter where they are taken. I always take my demos home and give them a proper dance test before I buy anything, which is probably why I’m rarely salty about a purchase- too bad that kind of common sense isn’t more common.
Meh even in RL most advertising is a lie. People should just demo and know it won’t look exactly like the vendor ad because it’s not produced in SL.
I also believe that most people have “highly customized” shapes. Even people who buy shapes tweak it to their liking. Unless they are dumb and buy no mod shapes.
I would like to believe that too, but the way you can find the exact same faces everywhere you go in SL makes it difficult. I could scroll through my Flickr and find at least a half dozen female avis who look like basically the same person at any given time; it’s kinda sad that we have bento now and people are still clones. The reason I put it that way is that started for me as soon as rigged mesh came into existence, and my shape was usually too big for the Medium standard size while being too small for the Large standard size, and refusing to change my shape to fit clothes made the process more work than average.

It’s not just you that had to adjust their shape in order to fit that dreaded that standard sizing bullshit when rigged mesh came out. It was horrible. I had a nice curvy shape “highly customized” as you say. It was too fat to fit medium and the SS large shape numbers were a fucking joke. It was horrid.
When LL updated skeletons and with mesh bodies it made it possible to get back my old shape and you can see more variety now. However there are still limitations with the bodies and when they become distorted. So most people do take time to customize their shapes. Again I’m talking about bodies.
As far as faces, it’s the same deal with mesh heads. There are limitations on how far you can tweak. Then you have skins made for the mesh heads that don’t deviate much from the original. Now if your talking about system heads, I can’t even get into that because that’s Stone Age shit. I think mesh heads take away some of the uniques faced we used to have the same way SS took away unique shapes. But just like SS is stone age shit now. I think mesh heads will eventually evolve also.
TL ; DR just about everyone adjusts their shapes.

I own quite a few of her things as well and honestly, there are no complaints. The quality is there and I checked back on that one photo in her profile, it was a fast photo she took to show people her favorite outfit and it was done on a medium setting. It was one of those moments to just quickly show what she was talking about.
I didn’t even realize that was the creator LOL; guess that chops the knees out from under anyone who would accuse me of kissing her ass or being her, right? I don’t use Facebook for SL (frankly don’t understand why anyone does since avi profiles are against their TOS and can be removed any time, but that’s for another comment thread) so that kinda thing misses me.
That does make the secret make more sense, but honestly only someone who runs SL on lower graphics normally wouldn’t realize the difference between that screenshot and how SL looks for someone who can use the more recent graphical updates. All that’s missing from the photo is the depth added by shadows, as well as the detail added by avatar cloth and advanced lighting model. Tint of a color is highly dependent on windlight and a person’s color settings on their monitor.
Regardless, Candydoll is quality, and the derps who keep crying about where the vendor ads are taken seriously need new hobbies if that gets their knickers in a twist for weeks on end.

A good example is how she jumped into the middle of the vendor issue, with blowing her mouth off regarding the Caspervend system. Super chill even though one of the mods told one of my friends to change or put clothes on, didnt just ban instantly, the only sims i’ve seen that are “blatant ageplay” would be sims like Risque Rabbit or Anifur that literally allow/accept anyone of all ages on an adult sim, even shotas, lolis, cubs now that is sick for those sims to even have it in their rules that any size and any avatar is allowed on those sex/adult sims.
