Clearly someone needs to tell Astralia to stfu and get over herself. I’ll happily never buy anything else from her since she has such a disgusting attitude towards something that helps advertise her products. I’m not sure why she’s sitting on such a high horse, but she should do herself a favor and hop off before her childishness pushes away even more customers.

@19 – ok then don’t bitch when the item costs even more because we gotta cover the costs of the images to upload for the HUD along with the extra $$ to get scripts for the hud that are actually secure, and take almost twice as long to make the hud than it’d take to just slap different color variations on something and sell it. get over the HUD thing, I bet you got shit from like, 5 years ago you haven’t worn for ages you can throw out instead of bitching because you got 8 separate colors of skirt LOL
#16 I /am/was a kid designer. I still have my store up but haven’t made anything new in over a year and I started making things 6 years ago and became quite popular. I learned mesh and rigged clothing and as I joined events I started to see a decline in quality and who gets let in. I ran a few events and what I noticed is the fact that people drop out and make promises they will do the event and not do it on the end. As an event owner you shouldn’t have to beg for one of the bette kid designers to stay in it and give them such lee-way to keep the event relevant. You get designers like these who can slap something together to be ontime verse those who spend actual hours into their creations if you want something better and unique you better expect to be paying more. Because we as designers should not have to stoop to a level of 50l on everything we do because someone can buy a template and make it pretty. When if we’re mesh it ourselves and it’s exclusive. I’m tired of seeing designers getting downed on sl secrets ranging from kid stores to adult stores or sometimes even events. People talk about designers ripping ideas off Pinterest or even google and if I posted every designers “inspiration” image next to the original where they found it, you would be surprised at how many popular designers copy. Now those who do come up with a design, I have personally had my designs ripped off and told if they mesh it they have all rights to it. Is this fair? No. But they did it. Designers must huff their own shit in the morning because I’ve never met a group of people so high on themselves. Of course, as the old adage says: if you’re good at something never do it for free but goddamn… Settle down, you make clothes in a videogame. Calm yourself, Giorgio Armani.
You yourself just mentioned how there would be empty promises from designers about joining your events. Half the stalls at various events these days are empty.
The circlejerk is painful.
Funny how Astralia is trying to use the “root for us poor creators” but she literally makes funko pops in sl but changes the names of them slightly and the builds very slightly but uses even down to the logo the same style. How do all these “poor” sl designers feel about the RL/digital designers work that they 100% steal or copy?! What about their copyright infringement?Maybe if all these people trying to shill their work in SL tried to live off a RL job and used SL as a hobby/secondary income then they wouldn’t get their panties in a twist when they’ve lost like 4 sales. SL isn’t big enough anymore for all these stores to make a RL living or be rich like they used to be. I gave up trying to make any type of large income in SL ages ago. Who wants to work weeks on a item to sell it for 20 cents and make like $50? Working even a $10 an hour job is usually more financially stable and effective than trying to make a living off virtual goods.
What is truly sad is that the sim owner is now getting drama dropped in her lap due to Astralia’s drama causing claims. Earlier, there were people over at the sim, calling her a copybotter and thief, all because Alice decided to be a drama queen once more. I dropped by the sim myself and it’s great! It is wonderful seeing someone who is set something like this up, for the SL community, sharing what she has. Everything is bought for legally, she paid for it with her own money and legally obtained all the backdrops that you find there. There should be no issues but there is always one designer (no, not all of them since there are some really amazing creators who are such beautiful souls) who has to try to ruin it for someone due to simple greed.
Also, Second Life refuses to advertise properly. A lot of people joined from seeing Second Life in media like The Office, CNN, and that documentary… but now they will hardly advertise at all.
If people knew what this game provided more would join.

Yes, Sansar is for VR headsets, but I was there without one and was amazed by lighting, environment look. And I didn’t pay anything for my ‘piece of world’ ?. Avatars are simple, but it’ll change for sure.
I’m just wondering if SL shrinking didn’t accelerated in last year. Makes me not quite happy. I’m on and off, but I love this world. And community doasn’t seems to migrate to Sansar naither (WONDERFUL visuals btw)
I doubt many SL user’s will go over to Sansar since it is for people with VR headsets. Also there is VR Chat that is on steam where you don’t have to pay anything for any look you want. The biggest issues I see is that SL isn’t friendly to new members and killing the pop. Everyone seems to have their small groups that they talk to. There are times where I TP to and event and no one is talking. Sure they are all in privet chats and/or bots.
It also doesn’t help that it’s the end of the year and the holidays. People are away and will be back next year.

Who cares what your RL name is. The fact is you were using other creators textures and the whole of HKE group chat saw what you posted. You can lie and defend yourself all you want, but everyone has the screen shots. You tell so many stories that you forget what you even say. You stalk profiles, you stalk groups, peoples friends lists, land lists and stores. Spending multiple hours doing so. It’s bullshit, your bullshit. Why don’t you take your own advice and go play sims4.
All HKE Logos, Textures and Graphics are authorized to be used, adjusted, modified and reused for HKE purpose.
Our students are allowed to use these digital assets for school design purpose. We all heard what Malika said in HKE group and do not think there are any problems. You are the one that have twisted what Malika said and paraphrased what she meant in HKE Chat.
Please do not drag our school into your meaningless revenge match.

I agree with Katherine. The abuse on Eva really needs to end. It is ridiculous, and it is harassing. You need to just leave her alone, and get on with your Second Life. Trust me, Second Life is much better when you leave the past behind, and just be stress free. Putting these posts up on Eva week after week shows a lot more about you then it does Eva. I was trying to say (and I sometimes word things awkwardly) that I was creating HKE uniforms with HKE textures and outfits with layers created out of textures I purchased commercial licenses from on Etsy. You are obviously the one stalking me as you steal pictures from my profile, and go into group chats and copy my chat logs and take them totally out of context and follow me around at sims I frequent such as zooby. When I was in a maternity group (because I like prim babies), you tried to claim that SSN maternity shop was a pedophile store because they sell stuff for getting pregnant so you can’t even get your facts straight when stalking me. If I wasn’t a focus of your delusions or obsession of yours, you wouldn’t be following me around and copying my pics and chat transcripts and be too cowardly to show who you really are in world. I will try and keep my conversations to IMs unless I have a specific support question and not leave anything in my profiles of my characters for you to copy and hopefully someday you will find something better to do someday as currently you find my profile and chat logs so entertaining you perve them every day and steal content from them.

I found “Backdrop City” after they followed me on Flickr. I went to check the place out shortly after that and have been singing their praises every since. They are very friendly and actually support the designers. Instead of being all butt hurt about it you should be thanking them for the free advertisement. And all you’re doing flappin’ your gums is doing the same for them.
I’m a pose designer and although it’s great to make money from it I’m just happy that someone liked my product enough to use it. I get gitty every time I see someone use one in their pic, whether they bought it from me or used it from a friend. It’s all about sharing what you love with others, the money should be a bonus. But that’s just me.
Personally I will continue to suggest people go to Backdrop City.

All she is causing is more petty drama, which looks like the tide is turning against her pretty pretty face to show just how greedy she is as well as others speaking up against her for once people are tired of being bullied and seems another well-known creator has sent out blogger notice basically forbidding them to not support backdrop sharing sims and I am in agreement with the other comments that take your whining somewhere else and go back to making head ornaments if you cannot stand people sharing

They’re incredibly lazy and take zero talent to make. I’ve made poses, for crying out loud. The gall of these people to sell them for the amounts they are, it’s ridiculous.

Nobody’s forcing you to buy poses. I like them in events, personally.
Back in the day, when gatchas were still brand new and Arcade was in its first round or two, a creator threw a hissy fit over their items being resold at yardsales. They felt that even though their items were no copy/trans, they could control what people did with them. This creator would go around to yardsales and scream at the people who resold the items they made. I believe they tried to get Arcade to even put in some kind of asinine rule saying people couldn’t do it. Long story short, they lost sales, respect, and the fight. I don’t know if they’re still in business. Yardsales are still a thing and they’re bigger than ever.
Astralia seems to be on the same path as this person. My suggestion is, instead of giving up on making backdrops, add some scripting to make it harder for people to do this, like an auto-derezzer that takes it down after an hour and can only be reactivated by the item owner. Instead of throwing a fit and putting yourself on the wrong side of history, do something practical about it. If you’re not willing to do that, live with the fact that people share shit and don’t be such a baby about it.
A derezzer can be used sure, but you can set scripts to non-running, and use in a no-scripted area. Astraila is complaining of free advertising that is just how privileged this “creator” is. Let this “creator” nail themselves in the coffin. Enjoy losing customers from complaining. I’ll be donating my unused backdrops to BDC, even my rare ones.
It appears that the creator is now refusing to create backdrops as their solution.
And nothing of value was lost.
i found backdrop city a few days ago while looking for a particular backdrop to buy… found it there, saved my money coz in rez it looked like shite! Thankyou Backdrop city! its really great to be able to see the backdrops rezed, ive spent so much on gachas trying to get the one i want only to find its no were near as good as it looks in the advert or its 3 million prims so i can’t even rez it on my land.

5) I did not use the texture from that shirt. She was just modeling it for a profile picture. I never claimed or advertised it as mine. I purchased every texture I used in my creations. I still enjoy wearing other people’s clothing just like everybody else does on SL.
6) Spying? I am an adult woman. I don’t need to waste my time spying on people. My SL is supposed to be my downtime to relax, not spy. I locked down my sim to avoid your hurtful attacks. Don’t waste your time posting anything else here as I will no longer be checking this site.

I am sick and tired of Eva being attacked. First, I can say from first person experience, Eva openly tells people who her alts are. Second, the places she is being accused of spying at are places she actually goes to ACTUALLY SHOP. So shopping is now called spying? Fascinating.

Also 08 is the essence of all that went wrong with SL. You were supposed to be able to even make a dick tower out of backdrops or whatever else. Backdrops are same as any sort of building plus having them rezzed and noticed by people means they will keep shop in mind when needing one for their own sets. The designer can always do it themselves if they please and make all available for sale individually not via gambling system.
i´ve been to backdrop city and it´s a great place for bloggers that would never spend any penny for expensive backdrops.

Not true. You have to have a script in the actual item in order for your HUD to work.
