I’m bothered by this. I don’t buy her templates to sell, I buy them for myself to make things I want to wear as a boy. At the old pricing I wouldn’t think twice about it, at the new pricing I can’t see me buying them at all. It saddens me I’ll have to buy my clothes at the same few stores that has boy items. And 2k for boots that are just okay, is something I’m not okay with for a “limited edition”. What’s so limited about them? Are there only 2 available? In a community this small I feel like 5 stores having it would make it feel just like a normal template that’s over priced.

This is exactly what I said. In a community that wants 500L fat packs, your not going to make money back on these. A good store will use the template for one design and unless it’s in an event (where they expect even cheaper prices) you will not make your money back (maybe with sales over time). The fact is for expensive “limited” templates the quality should also be there and I’m really sorry but these boots are meh. The price wouldn’t be such an issue if the quality is there. Fact is that this circle of creators expect nothing but pats on the back and never take any kind of criticism well. Those that are brave enough to speak out about issues they have with anything are seen as disgraceful, tasteless haters. It’s time they humbled themselves and stop attacking customers like its okay and than just maybe they wouldn’t end up here on virtual-secrets. They also wouldn’t be loosing the support.

Sorry to say for you they aren’t losing any support. Their sales certainly don’t say it from what I’ve seen. Those boots sold out in a day. So don’t buy the mesh. Take your business to Zoobatos (who was never cheap because her sizes are sold separately) or whomever you think has better mesh or better yet learn to mesh for yourselves. These comments all sound like a jealous competitor. In the final show, most of the guys who all dressed pretty much identical were selected as finalists while the most interesting guys were left behind and daisy? an award for a vagina, talk about snowflake territory.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the kid mesh secrets, You can’t sell 600L boots to one person though.. This is the kid community, you have designers like LaZo who are fantastically amazing and we are always grateful for the cheap fatpacks in various colors – and yeah, I do wear them after I buy them, different colors different seasons or costumes man its everywhere – Aside from that, I’m pretty sure the 600L that person meant is probably the amount of copies of the 100-200L pair of boots cost. And that’s if you’re lucky. The fact of the matter is, – “Okay. Wildflowers makes original mesh templates. She can only sell it to you one time. You can then use that template to make and sell something.” Yes, this is true. You can make and sell something. I think most people have that in mind when buying her meshes.. but if you think majority of the kid creators are going to throw up 2k (most being new to designing in general, terrible or not) for a single mesh because its “limited edition” that’s just a bad business practice. The owner is incredibly creative but you have to admit she does make some odd things sometimes.. and unless she focuses on the “essentials” or what-ever that idea is going to backfire really quickly down the line. Like I said, I agree with the secrets. The kid community is not the adult community for a reason. If you don’t like it or if this makes you mad, then stop creating for the kid community and do yourself a favor. What’s mind boggling is why make a secret about it at all? Why didn’t you (or whoever made the secret) just come to the creators and discuss prices of full perm mesh outright? What’s missing in this entire “discussion” is the fact that these creators are actually really nice people. I know them both and have purchased from them both. I could understand the butthurt if they had increased their prices across the board in a manner which made it impossible to create for the kid world, but the price increase was very small. Just enough to make them feel like the time spent on a creation was (at least in the virtual world) worth it. When I first came to SL, the price of a non limited full perm mesh was about 2k. As the market became saturated, prices went down. There are very few full perm clothing creators for kids. The answer is simple. If you don’t like the current prices, learn to mesh, make your own full perm clothes and encourage others to do the same thing. Once the market is flooded with full perm meshes for kids and 99% of it being textured horribly, then prices will go down. Then you, as a full perm clothing creator, can be on the other side of the fence. I personally would rather see a slight price increase rather than the alternative. Really, it’s already bad enough as it is that every crappy new store out there (and some not so new) is buying the mesh and making us all cringe with their unskilled texturing. Seriously, just stop buying the mesh. You are not hurting the full perm creators by not purchasing their mesh. If you sell the boots for 600L to one person.. sell 3 more and you’ve made your money back and then some. If you can’t sell more than 4 pairs, maybe you shouldn’t be creating anything to begin with.
Selling these boots for 600 would be highway robbery. The quality of this mesh is on par or beneath that of mass produced sweatshop mesh template for standard SL avi or popular mesh bodies where the price can be as low as 100 linden and you get several (sometimes upwards of 15) different rigged models to meet all the popular avatar bodies on the market. The fact that kid stuff is a bit cheaper on average to begin with means selling something for 600 lindens is gonna be a hard sell and the item had better be really nice. Yes your texturing skill is going to be a major factor, but if you start with a mesh that is only so good, you have to work a lot harder to make your money back. I wouldn’t personally charge more than 50 linden for a single pair of those boots. 750 seemed reasonable for the dresses and outfits being sold recently for the Tweenster body, but honestly I bought almost every one of them because they were the only two designers offering stuff for that body and I wanted to encourage them to keep creating more. The last few did get a little boring with a bow placed in a different spot or a slightly different detail to the same dress. Oh well. I would still continue to buy most anything produced if the prices had not jumped so high. I have not bought a single item since the change. I wonder if they are feeling the drop in sales or if they are happy selling half as many items for the same net pay. Limited edition also is irrelevant unless it’s less than five. Frankly, they don’t need defending. Both have always been super nice to me. But I see. This isn’t about pricing or talent at all. It’s about being jealous of popular designers. Got it. Good luck in the kids world or ANY world with that mentality. I should of known those two post were about a jealous competitor and nothing to do with talent. If you find her mesh to be cheap or not to the quality of your so called standards simply don’t buy it. Problem solved.
And can you give me a couple of names of these “new and up and coming” full perm meshers popping up? I’d love to have more to choose from.

yup……but going by their standards only if your 8 ft tall and a twig you won’t win unless that’s how your avi looks……IJS….. They want carbon copies of everyone….no originality….. so if you have an “original style” don’t even bother.
