To the ones remarking that #10 is about victim shaming and saying that children don’t encourage pedo’s. You are right they don’t. #10, however, it’s an adult with a very child like avi with her pants down. So, no children don’t encourage pedofiles. No one has said that at all. Justify everything with “you are victim shaming!” or “what if this was your child?!” That is bullshit. Would you let your child leave the house like that? If you happened to be walking down the street and saw a girl about the age range this avi looks in this “cute” outfit as she is there. You would walk on? I doubt it. You would be concerned and try to find out what happened to her. OR what if this was your child found on the street in this state?…Would it be “cute” then? #10 is one of many who feed those sick bastards filthy minds. tell you what. if my child did leave the house like that, i still wouldn’t shame her for the way people look at her despite her apparent age. what a woman wears — whether she’s six, sixteen or sixty — does not make her responsible for the way someone else looks at her, period. it also doesn’t invite the critique of strangers who would shame her into covering up when it’s none of their business what she wears, or why she wears it, either. just because she’s young doesn’t mean she should have to dress in turtlenecks and maxi skirts everywhere she goes just in case some pervert is standing nearby having a look.

personally, i see a young woman working her way around some self-expression. and i’d rather my kid be immodest and even uncomfortably sexual than judgmental, invasive and petty.

Let’s be perfectly clear that I would never shame a child for any reason. Just wanted to drop a warm wish for the upcoming holiday season to all the sane, kind, generous, and real people I met in Second Life in what seems like decades ago. I don’t know if you are all still in SL, of if like me you only pop on to virtual-secrets every now and again to remind yourself just how empty a place it can be. I hope you find what makes you happy, I hope that thing is something positive in your life, and I hope you are being kind and are being treated with kindness in return. This world is pretty f**ked up right now, and the desire to hide in something like SL is strong, but I was glad for the friends I made and still have, and for those I met that changed my understanding of people’s motivations and common dreams, both positive and not so positive. Be well SL community, be real if you can, and always try to be a better person than you were the day before. I am a work in progress, just like everyone else, but I hope you reflect on the past year and think about what the New Year can hold. Be well, always know you matter to someone, and always will.

I would think in informal writing, such as that which appears on this very website, it is perfectly acceptable to use ‘alright’ but if it bothers you then try your best to move past it.
