I’ve been playing at MM for awhile. I can’t help but wonder if someone is taking some of the IC bullying as also ooc. I was someone who’s character was bullied a fair bit last year. And it stopped there. The people that bullied me ic are friends ooc. Some of the fights and more outlandish things that happened were decided spur of the moment in ims and agreed upon. I can also say that special abilities are not just getting handed out to friends only. I was brand new at the beginning of the year last year and ended up with an ability. At first it was filled but then as one of their runner ups they kept on file I was granted it when a slot became available. This was before I had even rp’d extensively yet which incidentally made fitting this into the character’s persona far easier. Also the staff is more than gracious. I have had issues with people, reported it, and it was dealt with. Most of the time I wasn’t told what happened but that it had been addressed. On occasion I would be informed of the result generally if it was something like we were both being told to stay away from each other for a bit. As for the whole it being cliquish… well honestly from what I understand and have seen it was more people starting to wait to see if you were going to stick around or not. I know new people came and went in waves since I started and very few stick around. I am so sick of hearing that David Cooper is a copybot. I wore those shitty skins from Faces and they sucked. Bad texturing on the neck, feet and the back of the knees. I tried to get Gwen to help me but she first told me it was my lighting, then said it was not her fault. (I took myself to several skin groups and we all could see the fail) Then she just ignored me. So when I found Cooper’s skins I was in heaven and I stayed there. I don’t give a rats ass if they are copied either. They look good. Too bad.. so sad. Maybe next time when a customer is having a problem you will make it right.
L’etre David Cooper is kind of keeping quiet so far about what he has done he doesn’t give a damn as he knows people will keep buying his shit no matter if he’s botted them, it’s now down to the original creators of those textures to DMCA his ass.

It always amazes me the head in the sand mental attitude that some buyers in sl still ascribe to. It’s not hard to find a LOT of statements and proof with regard to David Heather’s skins and hair textures and the fact that they certainly -appear- copied, to the point that Murray creator has made a statement, how she gave him the benefit of the doubt for quite some time but now can longer ignore the similarities. For you slower readers, -editing- content that you don’t own in the first place does not now make it yours. Do not confuse this with buying full perm content which you are given -permission- by purchasing that content to use and sell as your own within prescribed terms. I.e. most stipulate how much the finished product can be sold for and what permissions to use etc. But this person didn’t -buy- full perm content, he stole it and then edited it and tried to claim it was his own. and yes, I know that many skins are sampled, aka, oftentimes they are frankensteined from various full perm bits and pieces but that’s not all skins and it still matters how the skin is put together. I wouldn’t buy anything from dear “L’etre” if you don’t want to end up with a bunch of worthless crap in your inventory when ll gets off their butts and deletes/replaces it as has been done with other types of copied content. I don’t know if that text was photoshopped or not, it wouldn’t be hard to shop it at all. But if it wasn’t, he’s a shit head for laughing about his crimes. Can we stop using the word “bullying” in every scenario where there is some kind of disagreement, please? It diminishes the suffering of people who are really being bullied. If you can log out and it doesn’t extend any further, or into your real life, you aren’t being bullied – there is no escaping real bullying. This overuse is not doing any favors for people who are being bullied and get ignored or worse because the word has become as meaningless as gluten-free or allergic.

Don’t be so naive. Bullying can start online and spill into RL. People have (just do your research) been targeted online, then they get their RL drawn in. Perhaps they were also naive and shared RL information. Either way, it can and does happen and those who have suffered it do not deserve the sweeping belitting statements to demean them further by saying simply “log off”.

Cyber bullying happens yes, but it’s stupid to continue to accept it when you can turn off the people doing it block on facebook tumblr, wherever and just not be around them. Problem is, in many cases cyber bullying is only an aspect of rl bullying, ie, the people doing it are known irl too. You are comparing apples and oranges. @All copybotting secrets as of recent: Curious if people make them while meaning people modding stuffs for their own avatars or those who make money of someone else’s creations or attributing it to themselves. Asking as editing Second Life stuff for yourself and not saying it is yours is fine but pretending it is yours and selling it – is not. Partial on person mentioned for hair textures as majority of SL shops that have hair use textures used for free within Sims community – as I was one of these people and also done eye textures – lots of shops used those (some did claim them as theirs but I do not mind as did not intend them as for profit plus my policy with game mods is to share all; partial on those who have booths on events but it is on me as did not place such restrictions). Essentially – person downloading items off SL and uploading them to personal avatars does not break any laws. Same as person uploading them for free after they have bought them and they do not pretend they are theirs. What on Earth happened with game sharing spirit? Not that anyone is obligated to share, but people encouraging sharing and donating in game mod areas used to be more regarded and made more profit. Again, I’m wondering, are you seriously this ignorant. Copying other people’s content without paying for it is theft, regardless of whether you use it only for yourself or not. SELLING that content adds insult to injury of course, but stealing it to use for yourself is still, you know, stealing. Also, I am sick to death of seeing SL referred to as a game. It is not a game. There are games within it, rp, skill gaming, and so on, but it, itself is not a game. It isn’t even called a game by Linden Labs any more. A game by definition has set goals and played by rules. SL doesn’t have any set goals and aside from Terms of Service doesn’t have any rules so stop calling it a game. It is a hyper sophisticated messaging service with added bells and whistles. A conglomerate of chat rooms with added voice and avatars and shopping etc. People call it a game in order to belittle it or to make it okay to ignore that there are other human beings chatting with you, creating items, and that those human beings have feelings and rights too. MM seems to be on here very often, and not for the best reasons I see, MM has a beautiful sim, and the same problems seem to keep popping up, maybe its time for them staff to actually take notice of this, and try to stop having to repeat themselves on here, and apply there time to improve the sim, so they avoid future bad sl secrets.

Ah hello! I am one of the moderators at Mischief Managed, the place that is mentioned in number five. As always it’s very sad to see that some people feel bullied within our sim and we always welcome people to talk to us if they feel like this. I would just like to point out a few things then i shall be on my way. Although it can be seen as elitism and perhaps harsh in times in terms of rules, we keep specific rules and such as to make sure that everything is roleplayed as true to the story (as happens in any roleplay sim that follows a specific book, movie and/or general story for example Game of Thrones, Fallout or anything written by Tolkien) and unfortunately that means we have to deny alot of things when people get abit too creative and spill over into territory that is questionable for the genre or we have to tell people to change how they dress because they are adults playing teenage characters and we have to respect that these characters are of a young age and as such, must dress accordingly as with any player that is playing an underage character on SL. We understand it can come across very strict but that is just how the cookie crumbles in regards to that. I do find that text sometimes gets lost in translation however and sometimes when people are being told no it can come across as rather blunt or strict. Although this is never truly the case and sometimes communication just fails. It can also lead to vice versa when a staff member may not fully understand a situation enough. Everyone is human. @5: It made me lol as it wasn’t me who made that (or any other MM ones as I sign my name under those). To people above – it is not submission process or things being ridiculous or not fitting universe. MM used to have excellent writers as I played there and unfortunatelly it took a year for a lot to give up. OP might not have worded things well but elitism there is not ‘we will not let you into priviledged group because we say so’ – it is much more sinister. Never, ever seen an RP so horribly run by a bunch of horrid people who essentially should make their own private sim or specify what they want clearly (in terms of what sort of characters and plot lines – they do not). The staff really actively makes people resent them, accepts no criticism, bullies and slanders people of SL and never revises or changes. There is plenty closed RP forums, livejournal groups, local tabletop games that manage just fine. MM is open to the public but they really do not want any players but themselves and if you actively play there and just do your own thing – they will do their best to micromanage you or make you bugger off. If you play there few times a month, it can be fine (I think but plenty of those people left as well). It is subjective of course and my opinion based on my experience (which was one of worst group of people I could have ever met and I am 28, been in plenty shitty groups offline and online). I haven’t been involved with Mischief Managed for years but good god does this bring me back. My expierence with Mischief Managed started when it was still known as Hogwarts: Your Story. I had the pleasure to work beside Marina/Li for a long time and honestly can’t even express my admiration for this woman to have gone through so much work for Mischief Managed. She loves that sim, and doesn’t deserve this kind of pettyness.
Year after year I’ve seen her put long hours of work into MM, while fellow Admins came and left. That, all out of her love for the Potterverse and SL roleplaying. Because you better believe there is no profit in this branch of Second Life.
Even back then it was always the same complaints. Too many or too little special abilities, elitism, cliques, etc. Petty things that the Admins could do very little about.
Marina deserves so much more respect and acknowledgement. Just thinking about the castle covered in snow makes me miss my time there. Despite the assholes. I haven’t visited in over a year but I’ll have to come back soon since Hogwarts is my home, always.
I’ve quite seen this as I used to also roleplay in MM. Quite utterly true and the admins/staff do become an “in your face” when they approach you. This is why I quit roleplaying in that clique filled sim lol

@Li: You are a public person with responsibilities to respond to – if you do a bad job, people will answer to you. As I have told you – the plot you mentioned was not submitted officially at all as I resigned from it plus never even had a conversation with you till you brought it up in my exit log. In addition, have told you it has been to cope with mental issues and would not be on-screen if it ever happened but it was not an official proposal, mentioned it loosely to others. You are definitely not the sole person responsible for the state of your sim. You do make shoe topic quite ridiculous which has been just me noting you do not list specifics – it has been another moderator telling me platforms for flat Slink have been to high and your rules listed heels up to three inches and Slink mid feet. Certainly did not wish you to list shoes. I was an admin, I was criticised, I responded and when overwhelmed – left it to others. Your problem is that you treat any criticism as personal attack and I do not know you as a person, I know how you work within your role as an admin. Before that, the only thing I personally pointed out to you is the ridiculous notion that a boarding school within HP world in year 2020+ would insist on students wearing trousers as none of schools in Glasgow do, plus in books there are robes and choosing to make such rule should be again, logically backed up. This is Marina. This did happen over a year ago and you were subsequently banned because you were pretty hateful towards me. Im not a Head Admin nor was i. I don’t think i did anything wrong by speaking to you, as you made some pretty severe accusations towards me for little to no reason. We stopped you doing things in roleplay because you wanted to roleplay a) committing suicide which is incredibly dark and well, it’s a sim about Harry Potter and b) you asked me to list every shoe possible known to man on the website just so you could get some clarification on what you could wear which is insanely impossible to do so.
You continue to post this conversation all over the place in what effort? people will believe what they want to believe. If they don’t wish to be on the sim then they wont and if they do then they will. I’ve never been hateful towards you nor have i slandered you to anyone.

#5 – I can always tell who’s never played a real RPG by the way they get huffy when GMs or mods tell them they can’t do something, or that something doesn’t fall in the world’s canon. Good lord.
The canon is not an issue, when they are controlling every bit of inch of your character, like the name, the looks, the story, (even though its all canon) it gets too much, its happened WAY too many time and people are seeing the black and white, their sim’s era can stay at 1992 when Harry potter’s journey began, but they have to see evolution and future for the lore’s time aswell, otherwise its going to get really fucking repetetive.
David Cooper is a piece of shit and has been PROVEN multiple times to be stealing content, but people still support him and even jump on his coattails to laugh every time someone brings it up. The people that support this kind of shit are just as bad as he is.

Been a kid since 2009 and I’ve never even heard of this shop. Most of my stuff is AR with a healthy mix of gacha items.
By all means – prove how she trashes her customers. Unless you do so, we can’t take your claims with any sort of truth to them.
Also, no one claimed their mesh was original. I simply said her stuff was mesh and that her sets were less primmy than AR’s sets (which is a fact). AR might buy templates, but she has one, maybe two mesh bedsets for kid avis and they’re well over 50 prims and that’s kind of ridiculous. Not to mention that her texturing is pretty sub-par.
Unless you can show some proof of the Muddpuddles owner bashing her customers, though (you know – how people had to do with the Aphrodite shop and most store owners that are claimed to bash customers), there’s no reason not to shop there.
Mudpuddles does not in any shape or form mesh their own stuff.
They buy templates and retexture just like AR.
She also has a habit of thinking shes “better” than everyone else. You can often find her on a platform making fun of how “stupid” her costomers are. And how easy it is to fool people of their money. Muddpuddles are not worth the money.
Muddpuddles has been around for a few years now and they don’t only make bedroom furniture.
They’re also mesh, unlike AR. Until they came out, I would use AR for my kids but 100+ prim for a simple bedset was getting ridiculous

This is not news, people are still supporting and buying his content because they don’t care, “in the name of looking good”. Y’all are wild. Or, they could not read SL Secrets…. or they could and see no proof and think people are just being assholes.
As somebody wrote above, if he is copyboting somebody here needs to post wireframe comparisons, screenshots showing the comparisons etc. Then I am sure event organizers couldn’t ignore it. Same way LL can’t act unless they have a legal notice to them, you surely can’t expect event owners to act on the contents of some secret without any proof being provided.

For #5, I’ve seen on multiple occasions where the people bitching did not have something accurately canon or they had something that just would not have made sense in the HP universe. I’ve seen more bullying directed at the moderators than I’ve seen any moderators supposedly bullying (and I’ve seen plenty of this via experience there combined with Facebook venting statuses).
As for #1, I’m not disputing whether they copybot. I’m simply saying that if you’re going to publicly accuse them, show proof of it. You can not just blindly call someone a copybotter. Provide some proof of copybotting so that people can know not to shop from that person.
