#12 — get into events, sponsor as many as you can. sign up for blogger/designer networking groups. have a sale, list it with seraphim.
most businesses, in real life or second life, don’t turn a profit for at least a year after their inception. we have all been where you are. the market is enormous and there are very few big fish, tons and tons of little ones. stay the course, keep your game tight, look for ways to innovate — you will get somewhere.

A lot of submissions recently have been against the only rule for virtual-secrets. There are even subpar memes and just random images with cheesy ass quotes. It’s sloppy and I personally prefer quality over quantity. Then again, it’s not my site to run.
One thing we have learned is that there is no pleasing everyone when it comes to SL Secrets so we don’t bother to try.

@15: Do they advertise as original mesh shop? Didn’t think so and it’s not a mystery they use templates as Mandala has similar stuff. Never seen them say they done original models and can’t think or original accessory shops at all. Revoxx, Rebellion and others also have them.

I’m going to chime in here and say a couple of things.
1. I’m confused by people using the past tense when they say he “was” HIV positive. There is no cure for HIV at this time. So that would mean he’s still HIV positive. Now if he’s telling people he was cured, well that is a secret for next week.
2. We fall back the same harsh lesson that many have learned in the SL community. If you don’t want folks to know your business and spread it, whats the best way to prevent that from happening? Don’t tell anyone. So you hook up with a person from SL you meet them RL, you wanna have relations but you tell them “hey I’m HIV positive”. Well hopefully you told them before having relations. Either way there is a pretty BIG chance they are going to tell someone in SL and there you go. Your business is out. If it didn’t come out while you were together it was definitely going to come out after a breakup.

12 = Hey you! It is hard to say something bad to a designer, sometimes people make really nice things but I might not be into them or some designers made something similar already. Don’t give up on creativity though and do it for yourself screw the others. I know its an investment but even I do drawing in Deviantart and nobody looks I keep drawing… its for me I cannot depend on anyone.

Gifts are every OTHER month. Not only are gifts worth more than 600L as they include not only Toddleedoo, but Totsipop sizes, a pack i charge 900L+ for regularly, and the gift is FULL PERM. And good quality too if I say so myself. I even keep the previous gift out for the next month now, and if you can prove you were in the group and just missed a gift, i send it out no problem.

Try applying for events or passing stuff out to bloggers. My store made next to nothing until i started getting my name out there through events and networking. I’m in my first event next month. I started getting alot of sales once i had sent out blog copies and made a flickr account, followed a couple of secondlife avatars and its gone from there. Dont give up and dont let it bother you. Thousands of people play secondlife, im sure someone out there would really like/enjoy the things you make. Good luck!

Yea I don’t get that secret for 15, how do they know the skins are ripped? Secondly, I know alot of people that have someone else make the mesh and they texture, it’s collab. As long as the other person is allowing them to sell it and no one else is it is still an original mesh.
