There’s been such a revolving door of friendship where Mitzy Dappa is concerned it’s sickening. She’s tried for years to climb the SL social ladder stepping on people she “loves” to try and get there. People will trust her, confide in her, believe the cloak of fakeness she shrouds herself in, and then learn rather quickly that she’s got two faces.
Lou might not be quite as awful as she is but there’s some even he called best friend for a long while that will tell you how his wife convinced him to drop them. What she’s unaware of is that he’ll continue to talk to them unbeknownst to her.
These two can twist it on any platform they like that they’re good people who’ve just made some bad choices in trusting people but that’s simply not the case. There’s a long line of people who see them for what they really are.
And whenever someone confronts them for their shitty ways they immediately go the drama route and make accusations and lies up about that person trying to “destroy” them. Clearly they’ve been in SL for far too fucking long and need a good dose of sunlight.

I’ve known you for many years. Since FM Clan and while maybe some refuse to admit these things about you they are true and I’m posting them here and don’t care what anyone thinks.
If you’re hiding, stop hiding. There’s still many who love and miss you and don’t care about any of the drama or crap cloud surrounding you. SL is SL and far too much pressure is put on people to treat it like RL.

Her actions past and present those are her own and while I personally might not condone some of the things she’s accused of or even guilty of she’s still a person beneath it all. Speaking as their former kid, The stuff being said about Mitzy and Lew is complete bullshit. Sorry, but nobody is perfect. I was with them for a year. Leaving them was not on the absolute best of terms, but it wasn’t on the worst of terms either. The Dappa family has been by far one of the most loving families I ever was graced with being able to call my own at some point. Like I said, They’re not perfect and nobody is. However, they’re there supporting those they care about and they’re always willing to support people who are good to them as well. Granted, the Dappas have grown in size since I was a part of their family and I cannot speak for all of them, but I can speak on behalf of my experience with Mitzy, Lewis, and Nile (as well as a few of Nile’s children). When I was with them, Mitzy was the sweetest mom ever. The last talk I had with her was not ideal as it was when I left her family, but in the year+ that they were in my life, she was an amazing motherly figure. Lew, though he didn’t speak very much or open up, was supportive in endeavors as well and I have NEVER heard him speak negatively about anyone except on ONE occasion. I didn’t know Nile nearly as long as I knew Mitzy and Lew, but from what I know of him and what people have been saying here, I’m calling bullshit. I’ve had similar experiences with these people.. and some of their extended “family”. They initially come across as really cool people but the moment they disagree with you or you don’t give them the attention they feel they deserve they turn in you. I used to be really close to Mitz even considered a friend rl.. she and another of her ex-besties Tor flipped on me and dumped me as a friend because Mitzy felt threatened by my closeness to her ex-business partner. She turned her jealousies into a psychotic fit. Only later to flip on others in the same manner and use this site to spread gossip, exaggerations and lies about other people in a means to destroy reputations of those she’s jealous of. She’s been in SL way too long. I’ve seen Nile use this site many times in the past to his own entertainment and pretend he had no part. He’s crazy enough to be responsible for Max being in here yet again. smh.
For this whole copyright debacle, I actually make money finding stolen meshes/copyrighted textures and reporting them for a various private 3d mesh vendors and one marketplace. But I routinely report everything I come across that is fishy… yep I spend a whole lot of time doing that because people do not like being stolen from, if I can identify it and know where it came from it gets reported. Takes a bunch of time but hey after having my poser meshes and textures stolen in SL many times and countless DMCA’s later I decided I could just offer the search and find as a service since I spend a lot of time doing so anyways. There is quite a few people in SL that do this kind of thing and some big companies have their own people in SL too, the sheer amount of crap that gets uploaded daily though… A lot of these stores after a DMCA just wait a while and then actually upload the thing they were forced to take down again under another name. Linden Labs does not care until a new DMCA is filed. One of the people I work with has had this fight with the same vendor for several months now, the take down itself can take weeks, very frustrating. Naming and shaming actually works a lot of people do not want to wear stolen meshes that might be removed from their inventories without compensation in a full take-down.
There is a thread on SL universe too called mesh police have a look at that if you want to know what stores to avoid.
That’s all fine and good, until you publicly shame someone that might not have known they purchased a copybotted mesh or template.
Seems the decent thing to do is work privately between the 2 parties. If you know without a doubt they flat out stole it, then by all means, shame to your hearts content if you feel the need.
The important thing is to not allow it to happen and not pick and choose which stores you decide need shaming, based on your own personal issues or criteria.
As shown above, there are tons of designers, both child and adult, using possibly stolen cliparts, not to mention all the Disney, Batman, Sesame Street and others.

Taking it down is a nice first step. Would be even better if she would stop being so goddamn high and mighty and admit that she stole it. virtual-secrets have been used for a lot of shit things over the years. This is one of the best uses possible. I hope people continue to use it as a platform to call out thieves. We sorely lack a good public venue for that.

She profited off work which was not hers and that she had no right to. She took money from artists who depend on sales and licensing to pay their rent, to keep their children fed, and to have a roof over their heads. Ivy’s always been a copier. Not quite the same as “stealing artwork” but back in the day when Larnia were the first big store to make suitcases and toiletries for camp there was a huge drama when she “copied” the idea.

7. Ay what’s wrong with Pixlr????? A lot of us use this because our composition, and the tools provided by SL help finish an image that already looks great coming out of sl. There are countless content creators on SL that replicate things from Disney movies – legitimately copyrighted images and likenesses. There is a plethora of superhero content. Hell, go look at all the current atrocious imitation Harley Quinn bullshit being pumped out by stores because of Suicide Squad. Are you going to stand up for THOSE artists as well who have their company’s content stolen and used for marketing illegally on SL? No? Ivy isn’t the only content creator to use something in their designs that belongs to someone else. The only difference between her and the majority of SL Content Creators is that the submitter of the secrets has some sort of personal fascination with this girl. It’s really troubling, honestly.
No, her using old clipart was not okay to do. However, if you’re going to penalize her for it, then you best get off your high horse and penalize the majority of SL Content creators as a whole who ALSO create content that illegally use pictures and designs that are licensed to artists and companies.
I agree with you on one thing, and that’s that we should be calling out more creators who use stolen images in their creations. This shouldn’t be an accepted practice. Slapping someone else’s patterns or pictures on your shirt and selling it like you made the whole thing isn’t cool. You can buy vector image bundles for relatively cheap and get commercial permissions for them. Put the effort in to be honest.
While I agree that it’s not okay, like I said above – Ivy isn’t the only creator in SL to use content they did not pay for. These people are on a witch hunt for her, but I don’t see anyone calling out the countless creators that use copyrighted characters for their own designs without paying for the rights to do so (which in itself is legitimately copyright infringement).
I’m not at all condoning the behavior she has done, but I am wondering why she’s the only creator being held at fault for doing something a LOT of creators do on here.
She has been a rude butch to countless people for years so now all the people she has fucked over with her holier than thou attitude don’t give a fuck what happens as long as she is the target. I have three friend who were victims of her obnoxious behavior when they needed help at her store. she treated them like shit and was very rude.
Really? She’s been rude? I recall multiple people asking for screenshots over the past 3 weeks of how rude she is and yet there’s no screenshot of it. The only thing remotely close to one is the secret where she clearly had enough of people bitching about the coloring/designs she does and she said that people can texture or create for themselves.
Though that’s hardly being rude, given how long she’s been attacked for simply because people don’t like a color palette.
Hell, I’ve even had experience years ago with her regarding one of her gacha machines (the dollhouse one). She actually gave me one of the rares I spent thousands of L trying to get all because I messaged her and kindly asked if there were another way I could get it (this was before people resold gachas on MP). She responded kindly and she gave me the missing items to complete my set. Given my experience, I can only say positive things about her. I’m still waiting for proof and displays of her being rude to people like you claim.
Then again, the secrets revealed on here this week and last week have no relation to her being rude to people – they’re secrets attempting to basically crucify her for wrongly taking clipart – which again, if you want to attack her for doing so, then you need to also attack pretty much every store on the grid, almost because the vast majority of them do the exact same thing. Otherwise, you just look like a desperate, vindictive little hypocrite.
I’m still waiting on those screenshots too. It’s not cool that she’s stolen clipart but I haven’t seen a single shred of proof she’s as vile as Izzy.

Life is not all black and white, and he’s learning. He’s learning a lot faster than most of us that are older had to, due to social media and the outlets it offers. I care about him and have often warned him about people like you casting judgement in his direction based on his social media posts. Not everyone gets him, and not everyone knows his entire story. It’s so easy to sit there and comment on him, when he’s already at his lowest.
All I can say is I see him trying to deal with his challenges in a different way than before and I’m very proud of him for that. It takes a lot more courage to own up that there are challenges in your life. I see him attempting to deal with them now instead of just commenting on them from before. There is growth there, growth in himself and his self confidence.

You’re absolutely correct, and many SL creators are in the wrong. I, for one, wouldn’t mind seeing people have to take responsibility for their blatant trademark infringement to be honest. At the end of the day, the BBC isn’t going to rush into SL to cause a fuss, but I do think we as customers should be more responsible about who we are supporting. The trademark “owner” is technically the only person who can say “hey, that’s not going to fly,” but as a customer you can always choose to take your money else where.. which is what I do when I see things like #10.

Think about it this way.
You draw a picture, one that you’re really proud of, so you want to share it by putting it online to show to other people. Some people contact you and ask if they can pay you for the right to use that picture as part of their work. You agree and get paid fees for licensing out the artwork.
Another person comes along, sees the picture, and decides that they don’t feel like paying you to use it. The slap it on a teeshirt and sell it, earning hundreds of dollars for themselves and never giving you any credit. You get no money, no new views, nothing, and this person, who took the art, which you worked hard on for hours and hours, instead of paying a reasonable price to use it, one they would have made back, profits on your back.
This is something artists go through constantly, not only in Second Life but in real life as well, with large companies stealing their work and making thousands off of it. If you think copybotting is wrong, if you think stealing a skin and slightly repainting it is wrong, then you have to agree that this is wrong too.

What most people don’t agree with is singling out a particular individual because you have a personal issue with them and posting something like this without the original artist’s consent. Posting a private email conversation is pretty shitty and whether you want to admit it or not, it’s extremely unprofessional.
If the original poster was deeply concerned about art theft, she would have kept the entire thing private between herself (the whistle blower) the designer (Turducken) and the artist who got ripped off.
But instead she wanted to make sure everyone else knows about what THIS designer did. Why not call them all out and go around protecting all the clipart on google?
