Before we delve into secrets…
• If you hook up with a crazy in SL, it is not our responsibility to help you deal with that. If it becomes a RL issue contact law enforcement.
• Trust no one. If you tell people your laundry they will air it for you.
• Secret submissions are anonymous. We don’t know if your crazy ex or your abuela submitted them.
• Make your secrets legible.
• Do not contact us just to threaten us, especially with e-lawyers. We’ve been doing this for 12+ years. You are not the first nor will you be the last.
• Lastly, if the material submitted here triggers you, please get help. If the materials submitted here make you suicidal please see the suicide hotline numbers posted. They are there to help.

I don’t get #4. If their product or service is not to your taste, why not look at something else? If you think they’re boring, there’s so much SL fashion media out there for you to discover that it shouldn’t even matter.
Penumbra and Eclispe are 100% shit since all those people left. They are boring due to the people they have on staff, starting with Miss a** Kissing Catalina Staheli, her nose must be really brown now from all the s**t its in
I don’t get it either, maybe a sour grape that didn’t get into an agency audition?
As for the mesh body thing… well… if you go to c88 or uber NO ONES mesh body loads. It’s a bunch of floating heads. I imagine it’s a similar problem with a laggy fashion show. (?) As long as they’re not using the Classic avatar lumpfeet or bananahands… *shudder*
#3 I disagree that whites can’t experience racism. As a single mom of a white child on an Indian reservation my child was constantly treated poorly because he was the minority white child. There were activities he was not allowed to partake in just because he was white. It was hard to explain to my 5yo why he couldn’t go do things with his friends just because of the color of his skin.
I think they’re commenting on the fact that if someone had said to the individual plurking (a black woman) to ‘go watch more Nicki Minaj videos’ they would have been called out as being racist, proving that you can be racist to a white person regardless of denying it as a fact elsewhere. I could be wrong though.
Having seen the whole mess unravel for myself I have to say that to make a real stand against something, and to create meaningful debate, you can not resort to name calling or stoop to open racism yourself, there may well be a point to be made about racism on Second Life, but it has been eclipsed by the inappropriate behaviour of one individual.
Any race can experience racism.
The hint is in the “name”.
Globally there are different experiences, but reality is it can be vastly more focused if you are a minority (whatever that minority is).
Actually, racism is the convergence of political or institutional power and racial prejudice. So, no. Not every race experiences racism. Especially in the US, where the blogger in question is based.
Since when has that been the definition of racism? Not a criticism, just a question. The definition I have always seen in use has been “the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.” Nothing involving politics or power.
It’s the standard sociological definition of racism I’ve heard used in any academic discussion of race theory.
I dont get the secret who are they talking about
A blogger on a high-profile blog decided to talk about racism in SL, and as usual people were more offended that they might be accused of being a racist than by actual racism.
Well the problem wasn’t the topic of the blog post. In fact the topic was quite relevant and interesting. Something we should be thinking about. Unfortunately it was peppered with screenshots of people’s plurks that were unrelated to the original conversation, diluting the topic’s importance.
Nah, it was related because I wanted to show what happens when you feel you have distance from a topic enough to laugh about it. It was about ignorance. I’m sorry you don’t agree with my methods, but I had a damn good reason for it. Certainly no one would be here talking now if it didn’t happen.
#5 I thought DH is making his own mesh…. is he not?
What does it matter if he doesn’t? If he partners with someone and has them do the mesh and he textures, what’s the problem? What’s more surprising is that he was able to find someone reliable enough to work as a partner in Second Life. It’s hard to find reliable people – it happens, but it’s rare.
#7 ‘fave blogger’ hahahahahahah oh uh hahahahahahaha ok stopped laughing now uh oh… hahahahahah.
Your world will end if Trump is elected! #getaclue
…and hopefully hers too, fingers crossed.
I thought the secrets would be decent this week? What happened? These are lame as hell.
Cake, why you felt the need to make a secret when no one else wanted to give you the attention is beyond me. Judging by your blog post and flickr pics, you are abusive to those who cared about you when they have the courage to clock you on your BS, screaming racism or abandonment, because it’s never your own fault when you push people away and isolate them from their friends and support network. You don’t like when your friends have friends you have decided are on the shitlist for your arbitrary idea of what constitutes racism, ignorance or prejudice. You misgender people, and say rude shit to trans people, make assumptions about their transition and say it’s OK because you’re genderfluid. That’s not how it works, you don’t get a free pass to be ignorant because of your gender identity. Transignorant and transphobic statements can come from others within the community too. You erase identities because they’re not the right kind of people of color, because they don’t agree with every single thing you say. They can be in support of your arguments main point but because they’re not angry like you are, you say they’re ‘apologists’ and tell them they don’t get a say at all. You operate under the guise of being a strong black person who has lived through racism and fights for it, single handedly but you have had the privilege of being white passing so you have no way of ever having experienced first hand, the kind of racism that darker skinned black brothers and sister have had. Until you can make friends without calling them racists or race apologists, you won’t have any at all. Most of the friends you haven’t pushed away are scared of you. Not because they’re racist or… Read more »
Someone pointed out the “white passing” comment, which because I didn’t read your shitpost, I didn’t notice. You really don’t know what creole is, do you?
Educate yourself: http://www.frenchcreoles.com/LouisianaPeople/louisiana%20creoles/louisiana%20creoles.html
Yeah none of what you’re saying is true, so it kind of renders your point void. At this point? The post I wrote is now being shared on Facebook. The truth is spreading. And I’m very glad of it.
#1 I’m shocked you didn’t use black letters! Tsktsk and nice you made the effort to make so many secrets about yourself, cause no one would have bothered but you. You mentioned secrets so often in your rage fits it was clear what we will have to read in secrets this Sunday!
Hello #6. Of the LGBT community the transgender sometimes seem to be the most harsh and unaccepting. Perhaps the person really does identify as transgender. If they say as much why not just accept that at face value? You don’t have to be their friend, and you don’t even have to believe they’re genuine. Just leave them alone.
Honestly, you felt this was a reasonable secret to make? Isn’t the transgender community striving for acceptance? And yet you make this secret? Maybe we should all question every single person that identifies as trans. We can make secrets about them all. I am sure that would help with acceptance.
Think before you act.
Are you transgender Bruise?
I’m so famous in being impersonated. Oh oh shall I scream identity theft or IP and copyright theft lol
Yeah we all know it is you doing them all. Guess this week nobody was paying you attention so you tried to troll with that *outrageous* question to Bruise.
Sorry sugarcakes wasn’t me I couldn’t give a rats ass about bruises vag/peeny. Plus I’m very much about owning my comments even apologizing on the rare occasion I am wrong. So honeybum I’m famous suck it up ROFL
Reality check: you are NOT famous. You are, however, a joke and everyone is laughing *at* you, not with you. The sad part is, you are the only one who doesn’t realize that.
What you also are is predictable; we all know you’ll respond even to this reply because you’re like someone with OCD in relation to this site — you just have to keep coming back and checking…and responding…and checking…and responding…
Are you famous? No.
Are you interesting? No.
Are you witty? No.
Are you predictable? YES!
So do us all a favor and do something *unexpected* for once in your life and don’t reply. Take your own advice and go outside, enjoy the sunshine and breath some fresh air.
Note to everyone else: just wait, she can’t help herself and she’ll bite back either using her regular name or she’ll make up another lol.
aww babes – pot, kettle, grammargal LOL LOL LOL. I’m totes OCD babycheeks, that’s how I ended up so ill in the hospital as you know. But I am shall we say ‘infamous’, you may ask yourself why YOU feel the need to attempt to belittle me every week and why you feel you need to respond to me. Why is it YOU can’t ignore me hmmm hmmmm, why is that GG huh???? Hit me with your best shot babykins, do you honestly think there is a damn thing you can say here that will hurt me or make me go “oh nooooo’s, I’m an awful troll, I must behave myself and I really must refrain from puking all over SL secrets” you crack week after week after week you FOOL
Nobody can hurt you. Sociopaths don’t have feelings.
But it would be nice if you did just stop posting, you suck all the air out of the room.
It’s tedious having to skim past your posts each week.
And um jollybean it’s obvious you don’t skim my post hun. You are able to regurgitate everything I’ve ever said. Nice try but it didn’t work
awww Kalitootie you had to post back here too, you have to keep coming with your alts trying to bully me away cos I’m different. It isn’t working hunnybunny, I’m not affraid of you.Not one of you is anyone or anything to me, you’re all just OCD morons on the end of a PC somewhere in cyperspace. I don’t understand why you don’t feel the same about me, I’m nobody to you why do you care so much. Why can’t you control yourself and stop responding to me. You just can’t do it, you come back with alts pretending you’re not watching and hanging off my every word, yet here you are AGAIN> It doesn’t matter to me who you think I am, that makes it even better for me
If you had OCD you would be freaking out about all these people who are judging you right now for being so sloppy with your privacy because you have no impulse control.
But you don’t have that. Same as you don’t have a eating disorder.
What you do have is quite simple. A really shitty personality that makes you act out to get attention with poor behavior on a website. I love that you make it so obvious in what makes you tick. It’s sooooo telling.
Elle Cresendro / Whateves / Whatever the internet troll?
More like the joke of the internet (and it’s on you).
And………………cue her try to back peddle her identity again and attack more posters here.
Oh and GrammarGal you nailed it. She can’t control herself, she just HAD to post back multiple times.
Awww diddly like I care
Who the hell is Bruise? I seriously mean it as a serious comment asking who that is. Unless the answer is just “troll commentator”.
Second that Grammar Gal. Lets hope she for once stops yabbering on this site.
yabber, yabber, yabber
This whole transgender thing is getting a bit out of control. Firstly it’s not readily acceptable to a lot of people and secondly it seems to have become some sort of trend. There are 5 year old boys proclaiming they are girls. I don’t know what to make of it.
I think in Second Life this whole transgender thing is a bit different than how it is in real life. There are many people who play as the other sex, some for living a fantasy, some because that’s how they actually would like to be in real life too and it might be an escape. What i noticed and don’t like that “im a transgender” seems to be turning into a trend, or more like an excuse for making an avatar of the opposite sex. Trying to defending themselves from judgement – because even though nobody else is the same in their real life as in their sl (let’s be honest if you arent playing as the opposite sex, you play young and beautiful which im sure many of the players aren’t) people love to judge. I agree with the maker of the secret, people shouldn’t be so afraid of who they are. If you choose to reveal your RL self don’t try to pretend someone you aren’t. Many of these “transgenders” in sl might thought about how it would been to be born as the other sex but they wouldn’t transition or do anything, they are the opposite sex only in the game, which is fine, just don’t use labels on yourself which actually you arent, just for acceptance. I think it can be degrading for the whole trans community.
I never actually seen someone lie they are somewhere on the trans spectrum or such or try to validate creating an avatar they wanted. Plenty of people I know play lots of various avis and since my main circle is RP one – we have various characters. I do not see why you would use it as a cover up for anything … most binary people I know that are not cis do now even bother to mention if they are trans besides close friends (if someone does otherwise, it’s in context of conversation or just wants to tell someone). Curious about it to be fair.
I cannot imagine anyone choosing to identify as a transperson just for the lulz. It’s not fun. It’s not “cool” or especially fun. It doesn’t get you any more play with… anyone, really, except for chasers who tend to be skeevy weirdos anyway. A lot of times, people in SL who are trans and haven’t transitioned haven’t done so just because they don’t have the money (not sure how aware you are of the cost, but even hormones can be prohibitively expensive if you’re on a student or otherwise low-income budget).
Some are fortunate enough to be either adult or otherwise able to afford (some) transition-related healthcare and legal services (name changes can be both humiliating and expensive, for example), but many can’t. That doesn’t make them any less trans than any other person who identifies as such and is transitioning/has transitioned. It just makes them in a tougher spot financially (or often, geographically/nationally or medically, if there are other health issues).
