Have you ever run a sim Roleplayer? You ever fork out your hard earned cash to pay for one? When you do, you get to make the rules. Then along comes a group of players who want things their way, and only their way. They bitch and scream and moan when you say no. CV is not my sim, but I have been in those sim owner shoes. You cannot please everyone. CV staff is fair, actually more fair than any other RP sim I have been on. The issue is when the same people keep whining, moaning and causing trouble? You simply get tired of them. Then they come to a website like this and make anonymous complaints. Had it been my sim, I would have shown them the ban button a long time ago.
If it’s truly a great sim as you’re preaching it is, then why did most of the people that responded to this week (and last week’s, apparently) even take the time to think twice, let alone respond to the secrets in such an offended manner? You’d think if it was such a fantastic sim, the staff and it’s players wouldn’t worry about something as meaningless as a “secret.” I HAVE run a sim actually, and it is still open. And it’s doing extremely well. So…I must be doing something right.
But what do I know, right? 😉
What is #2 about? I know it’s the roleplay sim, but I don’t get the postcard. There are… too many circles? Too much glowing things? Explain pls.
There’s a player-made group in CV called “The Circle”. They cause problems for the staff and have hissy fits when they don’t get their way.
It’s a wanna be group in Convergence who probably started the whole thing on SL secrets last week.
Basically, I’m hearing the staff shows a lot of favoritism towards certain players. I’m honestly not surprised, as you’ll find stuff like that in a lot of sims. I actually know the owner from a sim he used to be in in the past (if last week’s secret is correct) and from what I heard he didn’t exactly like not getting his way…so he went off to make his own sim.
Not to mention, it seems like if staff in this sim don’t particularly like a player, they tend to either ignore them or make it very hard for them to play. “Nuke” players or not. The idea of this place basically reminds me of the Fallen…except this isn’t Dom’s sim. So, it’s quite possible the idea was leeched or used vaguely. Then again, let’s truly see how many “dark, urban, fantasy” sims there are in sl. There are quite a few.

Actually the sim he was in was shut down by the owner who stated he was going to redo the lore to get it more solid, along with actually re-doing the sim to give everyone a new place to RP in. That was three years ago the sim is still shut, so yes the owner of CV made his own sim and twice its been shut down due to RL issues. CV is currently the third sim and its second incarnation.
As stated by others CV owner and his partner were the ones who basically re-wrote the entire lore for Dom’s sim, really there is no surprise at all the two would be similar but its certainly not theft.
That’s not the theft being discussed here.
okay, I’d like to step in here, I play at CV, and I’m someone who the admins, and owner specifically, have a right to dislike, due to personal issues in our mutual past, I more then most would be one who could be ‘targeted’ if such nonsense were actually real, there was a time when behavior on both sides was vindictive and harsh. I’ll be the first to admit I did things wrong during that time. However knowing all of this, I still applied for CV, and have had nothing but a wonderful time there, my rp hasn’t suffered, I’ve not been ostracized, nor pushed away because of our history of once mutual dislike. So any rumors of people being pushed out for being ‘disliked’ are probably from the folks being told no to various over the top characters, story lines, and ideas that simple don’t fit, or are overpowered, cliche, and unwanted. I do believe the owner and admins have a right to say no to things that they don’t want in their sim, and there is nothing wrong with that, other then some folks finding out that they are not all that special. I’ve seen numerous story lines get approved, endless characters, and plenty of variety of folks there, they all have one thing in common, they are well thought out, detailed, and fit well into the sim. As far as the story of theft goes, I know of at least one sim that stole the lore FROM CV to use and claimed it was their own. A sim I actually WAS pushed out of through bullying from players, and group leads who made my rp there difficult, if not impossible, and who also systematically turned people against me by lashing out whenever I spoke about anything, right… Read more »
One of the admins there is known for stalking and harassing their exes on Facebook, and another was thrown off of a sim’s admin team for favoritism and bullying players. I wouldn’t put anything past them.
Considering the owner wrote a lot of the lore and subraces for the Fallen sim in order to expand Dom’s universe, it’s not surprising the tone would be similar.
And isn’t that how most sims get started? Someone gets tired of the way things are run on a particular sim, or set of sims, and they start their own sim? You make this sound as if it’s unusual or somehow scandalous. But, considering this is the second iteration of the previous Convergence sim, however, basically Convergence II, it’s unlikely that it was a “I’m not getting my way wah’ move as much as a “reopening my old sim” move.
As for favoritism, that’s pretty much a complaint everywhere you go, because it’s the first thing people turn to when they don’t get their way.
2 and 3: No, that sim has shit staff. It’s a pile of bile and filth, and if you had half a brain, you’d leave it. Don’t frequent sims run by drama queens and thieves.
Thieves? Please do explain that.. because I’ve never heard anything about the owners being thieves. Sounds like someone got butthurt.
Without going into too much detail, this person tried to start a sim based on an idea stolen from the admin of another popular sim a few years back. Luckily, their stolen idea sim never got off the ground. I only found out that it was stolen because I know the person they stole it from and mentioned it to him. He informed me that this idea had been 100% stolen from him after he’d briefly discussed it with said thief, who had been an admin of his sim at the time.
Laugh out fucking loud. How do you steal an idea? Ideas are not copy rightable, what a bunch of idiots you all are.

So let me get this straight, you heard a rumor that the owners of this sim might have tried to start a different sim based on some other sim, and that other sim (that was never built) was what, stolen content?
Mm no. Just just vague lies especially if you can’t name this other sim. I’ve been on all of the builds made by these people. They’re exceptionally good at crediting other sources of inspiration, and the sim owners pretty much always own up to anything that’s not their idea.
And really, as far as content theft in the RP universe goes, uh… Gor? Game of Thrones? Harry Potter? Star Wars? Anita Blake? Yeah, kind of all stolen concepts. At least CV tries to do its own thing an overwhelming percentage of the time.
Rumors? No. I was directly involved with the thief. Very, very closely involved with them. I was there when they were trying to build the sim which they stole the idea for. Said sim never opened because the thief got distracted and decided it was too much work. I’d prefer not to give details because this person has a habit of going on witch hunts and throwing tantrums when their dirty laundry gets out.
I’m also close with the person they stole the idea from and was an admin on this person’s sims. During a conversation, I mentioned the idea which the thief stole, not knowing it was stolen, which was when I found out. He knew the full details on the story and universe, without being told. Pretty clear indication of just how stolen it was.
In my eyes, it’s scummy to get an idea from someone else, then leave that person’s sim and attempt to start another which would be in the same genre, potentially taking away players from the sim you left, using their own idea.
It might be “scummy” but it’s not illegal and it’s not a copyright breach and it’s not stolen IP. So get over it and stop crying thief because it’s NOT theft.
Okay then! Let’s see you take lots of time to write lore and such for a sim, put LOTS of hard earned money into a sim, and run in on a daily basis… and then have someone take ALL of your ideas AND your players! Suddenly, all of your players are gone, your staff leaves, and you’re struggling to keep your dead sim alive because someone else used your idea for their own sim. BUT WAIT! It’s not stealing…so I can’t feel bad for you or dramatically defend you on a secret website. Either way…CV is just an rp sim. It will live as long as it’s supposed to, then die when another sim comes along that is vastly greater than it ever was in its genre. Happens to every sim pretty much ever….USUALLY.

What does that have to do with the suggestion that Seraphim’s method of choosing what events to cover might be affected by bias?
While I agree that Seraphim cannot cover every event as coverage takes time and manpower, it wouldn’t be shocking to discover that certain events aren’t covered due to personal bias and vindictive behaviour.
Based on all the secrets that are posted on this site, personal bias and vindictive behaviour are par for the course in the SL fashion community.
Seraphim can choose to cover or not cover any event it wants and if you take it personal you don’t understand business at all. Even if its out of personal bias thats the bridge you burnt and that is your fault. You all whine like little cunts saying how SL is jaded, well if you piss off a waitress in real life guess what she likely spits in your drinks or wipes clit juice on your salad. Moral is you want your event to covered and liked by everyone? Be kind to everyone.
