Dear creators,
1. Take a blank sheet in a secluded and insulated wormhole in space/time.
2. Formulate your own original concept of any piece of furniture, clothing et al.
2. Make sure no one in the entire universe has ever used a similar feature (spend the minimum of 4 days researching for proof and compile all references worthy of a thesis).
3. Hand sketch each minute detail, re copy in triplicate.
4. Upload the 2D image into the magic extruding program and extrude (apparently that is all the rage on how things are done)
5. Sell your marvellous ingenious soul rending (ohh how the world wept when we beheld it) design and sell for a penny.
6. Stand on trial and defend each comment when it is found that the curve on the right hand side appears to be a replica from 1463 in the portrait of Dame Katherine the III’s left nostril. A polygraph may be required. You may also be thrown in a pond, if you float you are presumed guilty.
7. Rinse and repeat. .. no wait fuck that for an idea. You are the Van Gogh of our day, we will only lament when you are dust. Let us marvel in your magnificence, and let them eat cake.

This copyright stuff is amusing. Way back in the day (because my avatar is old!!) people would zip around SL wearing superhero logs on their system shirts, and Disney character stuff. I honestly don’t believe it was anyone’s intention to stick it to Disney by creating these things in SL. I don’t think they were being malicious. I think this was just stuff they liked in RL so they brought it into SL.

Then one day, some asshole(s) decided they could make themselves seem important by pointing out this atrocious copyright infringement.

Then some sheep (actual humans with very little brains) jumped on board and cry copyright infringement every single chance they get. It’s Second Life. It may be your ENTIRE life, but it’s really small potatoes in the big picture. Step back. Gain some perspective. Click X and maybe watch the news. There’s real problems out there. Real causes you could put yourself behind with your self righteous indignation.

Keep up the great work, Cory. Thank you. .

Exactly Bruise and some of those very assholes the ones who went around pointing out these atrocious copyright infringements, were posting pics of their own littleselves and boasting about their mini spiderman suite escapades, oh the hypocrisy of it all makes me laugh. You see, when it suits them to be seen as a dogooder or to jump on an attention whoring band wagon they’re all in. What a joke

Cory did the right thing by not posting or responding to any of these accusations last week. It eventually went away. That wasn’t enough drama obviously so the person had to make another secret. Whomever you are, you’re not getting the response you want from Cory she doesn’t care about the opinion of anyone who would read here. So next week this will all blow over again and you the poster will still be all bitter and twisted.

She doesn’t have to kiss anyone’s ass. But her real life relationship is off limits. It has nothing to do with if she’s a cunt to you on a daily basis, if you don’t like her rigging or her store.

I personally think if this girl would start treating the ones she doesn’t view as “popular” like assets to SL and normal people who deserve her better then thou attention, a lot of you haters would cut her a break.
Since she eats and eats and eats the SL Ladder well, thats likely to not happen any time soon.
You will continue to find any flaw you can to show this girl how much you all dislike her so yeah.
Treat people like how you want to be treated. Its not all about who can do for you. It’s about community.

Or cars or cell phones, or laptops. How long have apple been trying to sue samsung, I believe it’s coming on five years now. There are so many cars that look the same imagine if they had copyright over anything but the name. The issue isn’t the law the issue is the idiots who desperatly need a reason to bash or eliminate their competition because they’re insecure or not as talented.

I honestly don’t know. I do know that there are very strict rules about usage of images on the internet. The safest route is to use something like Creative Commons to search because the results are images that have been tagged safe to use for commercial purposes. Even then, citing the creator of the work is usually the respectful and ethical thing to do. Regarding #1, I would still have bought the bed if the ad had stated, “inspired by this real life work of art” and a link. That approach would honor the work of the original artist who actually conceived of the design and implementation of the real life bed.

I looked into it and technically, any time a Second Life creator uses a picture from a catalog or any other source to inspire their work, even if they create it from scratch as a mesh, it’s considered “derivative work”. Technically, they need permission from the owner of that image. Whether the owners of these images would actually care since the amount of money being made is so small, I have no idea.

There is so obviously a few designers in this round of C88 who have taken RL inspiration, why is Cory being picked on again. Without naming names google up tree house and see some inspiration taken from there and then google up crate furniture and see what happens. It’s not a crime to copy from RL things

It isn’t copyright infringement. I read the secret as a few weeks ago where she did get caught red handed for stealing copyright. This week the poster is saying they are now adding to that being “unoriginal”.

A lot of designers copy RL items, but looking at the red circles to me it looks like they wasn’t just inspired they did a cookie cutter copy of the image. Not illegal, but it’s still lazy from what I consider a “top famous creator”.

Is lazy a crime? Nope, but it sure means I won’t be adding to the large sums she makes at Collabo88.

I am also wondering how much of her other stuff is like this.

So what it it’s copied from RL, it’s not lazy it still takes a hell of a lot of work and time I’m sure. I dont’ see this as wrong at all, there are so many designer in SL that do this. But someone is on a witch hunt for this one obviously

That secret was created in Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 with a Mac computer. While I do have a macbook I don’t use Photoshop CC. I have CS5. For Windows only. So saying she needs a new PC and that she has no other means to get online other than it, is bullshit. She is all cunt hurt that the majority feels this way bout that situation, however, if your going to try and bullshit an entire community how bout logging off and making it at least seem somewhat legitimate. Using an illness as a means to an end for this type of bullshit is pathetic. There are so many who need actual help. She makes me sick.

You don’t KNOW that this person has – as you put it – “google diagnosed” Aspergers. Plenty of people have it and are properly dx (my husband being one of those people).

Plenty of people also DO need computers to work. Again, my husband’s one of those people. He works from home, for a remote office that’s 2000 miles away. He HAS to have a computer for work.

You never know everyone’s situation. Even if you think you do.

As a person with real, professionally diagnosed autism (Aspergers actually doesn’t exist anymore as a classification, it’s now considered ‘mild autism’) fuck these bitches who think that saying they have AS lets them get away with acting inappropriately. Walk a day in my shoes, understand the pain of sensory overload, not being able to read facial expressions, not interpreting tones of voice correctly, and always having your body language read incorrectly. AS isn’t some trendy diagnosis that you can just slap on yourself to excuse being a socially awkward/mean person, and I cannot stand people who do that.

“Google diagnosed Aspergers”? That’s interesting. Are you clinically qualified to make a statement such as that which questions one’s diagnosis?

Call the person weird or whatever, but just because you worked with a few people who have had autism (including Asperger’s) does not mean you have seen all instances of it. That’s like if someone were to say that a high-functioning person with autism did not have autism because they don’t have the exact characteristics as a low-functioning autistic person.

How would you feel if you had a physical or mental condition, permanent or temporary, and some idiot online decides to play doctor or psychologist? I’m sure you would not take it that well.

Just because you don’t agree that someone should make a GoFundMe page for a $800 computer, doesn’t mean you can take it to this level. You look ignorant when you do.

Who called anyone a moron? lol. I mean, if that is the level you have to stoop to, ok.

Beyond that, sure it is one thing to talk about out right content theft from RL designers, but to lump those people in with hair creators like Little Bones is just downright ridiculous. None of them are “criminals” stealing content. If you want to talk about that, create a new subject, don’t run on into it whilst talking about hair you don’t like.

Bottom line, you don’t like it. You don’t have to. There are plenty of options at other events or even at Collabor88 itself. There are plenty of brands I don’t care for, but I’m not about to talk shit about them because I’m “Anonymous” and it makes me feel oh so good to act like a troll.

Also, the picture doesn’t really speak on the quality of the product, it only speaks on the quality of the picture. I would much rather see low quality photos then ones rendered in 3D programs that don’t accurately depict the look of the item in world. That being said, some products may be better than others, but again, you have the option to demo it or just simply walk away. Stop acting like you are being forced to purchase products you don’t want.

Im sorta shocked by this….Birdy is the skin brand….Foxes is the clothing brand and their items are 99% (this being the 1%) super high quality clothing, the rigging is also impressive.
I honestly think someone who was super jealous of Birdy/Foxes and had to come up with something to try and railroad…and this is weak…it’s obviously a mistake. Just my opinion.

Agreed. Even if the texturing on this item came out wrong, the rigging on Foxes items is generally like buttah.

Honestly, they have some of the best rigged items at Collabor88. I’ve never had an issue with any of their items, especially the items specifically fitted for certain mesh bodies. You just sound butthurt because maybe you don’t like them as people?

they had similar styles period doesnt mean she copied her. if that was the case theres a lot of copying in the hair world and a lot of stored with the same styles so how this made this list is beyond me, plus girl hasnt been around in months so secrets needs to find something else to “expose”

Birdy is the skin brand. Foxes is the clothing brand. Alchemy is the fantasy brand.

I thought birdy was a completely different skin brand and also a different store that made overpriced gacha things, who then teamed up with tyr for some stuff?

I don’t really see how this ranked a secret, though. Usually their items are quite good. This just seems like a mistake that is easily fixable.

LOL? Is this a joke? It’s in the very middle of the front of the dress. It’s huge. All the way up and down the dress. This is no simple under-the-radar tiny mistake.. Unless they UV and texture blind folded. lulululu
