#2 is stupid. Avis are about personal choice and why do you care if people prefer a consistency in their appearance?
Agreed. it isnt a secret to anyone that Glam skins all look alike with just very small different details. No one obligated to buy Glam skins. Personally I do think they look pretty, but always the same face gets boring after a while, so then I will go buy a skin from another creator.

I always wear Glam Affair skins. They fit me best in terms of the look I’m going for and I don’t have any plans to change that in the future.

I do wear Glam affair skins some of my favorite skins are glam affair, but i see the point beening made….
BUT saying that i could tell who other skins were from instantly too,
Birdy & the skinnery esp – they seem to vary their faces more (shapes) but you can still tell …
Glam affair mostly always same face… do you think this could why its picked out more.. as with same face looks even more similar each time? or is it worse that you can pick out a skin maker even though is a totally different face?
I guess the conclusion i have come too is that they must all have their own similarities in their skin or we would not be able to tell by looking who made them.. and if you are to use same shape (face) each time its going to be more noticeable..
And yet Glam Affair is popular and I seriously don’t understand why. In my opinion their gacha and some older releases are better. Because of that, I really wish they would release some of their older event gacha… But that’s another pet peeve separately, about any gacha creator who does that.
Personally I LOVE Glam Affair skins. They always feel so clean, fresh and soft. I love the skin tones and the make ups. The details and subtle pores and highlights. To me they are perfection. But everyone has different tastes and to each their own. I do agree that lately some of her *new* releases have felt a little repetative and I do agree that she should add a few more skin tones to her collection. But overall I find her skins the most aesthetically pleasing to me. I never really liked other skin creators who over do it on the saggy, droopy eye bags and over highlighting.
Glam Affair is so popular because she is in every event under the sun. No one could really be making much “original content” with such a crazy schedule. I’m sure she’s rolling in the money, but it’s pretty annoying to see her constantly pumping out the same skin 5 times a month, with different make-up. And at a lot of those events, her stuff is discounted pretty heavily so everyone buys it, even if they never wear it.
Don’t even get me started on the freakin’ lelutka heads. Like, I get it. You’re here to make money, but damn. Could she be any less original?
Not even mentioning how rude she is, she messed up appliers for Arcade once and made me feel like a criminal for asking. Dont even mention the Sophia CS thing. Rude!!
You’re lucky to even get a reply from Sophia, even after several attempts. Maybe her huge eyes have finally fallen out and she can’t read notecards or IMs. Which makes her a perfect CS person for a store that is too busy to care about just one customer.
If Aida is really as rude and nasty as everyone says she is, than she truly deserves Sophia as her csr. Having her attached to any brand is only making that brand look bad. But I guess she’s stuffed her head so far up their ass that they can’t really see the effect she has.
I’ve never spoken to Sophia so I can’t comment on that. But I have spoken to Aida and she was pleasant. Granted, it was only the one time.
You can say all you want but #2 is more popular and most likely makes way more money than the other three designers you mention combined. So, jealous much?
Because profitability is such an awesome way of judging creativity, right?
Obviously if you make pretty white girl skins you’re going to sell to avatars who want to look like pretty white girls. Of which there are a lot. Does this mean that nobody should bother making skins of other ethnicities, even if they may not sell in the same quantity? Or that creators who make the effort to create a variety of different looks are necessarily ‘jealous’ of those who play it safe?
Just because someone draws attention to something they notice or find problematic does *not* necessarily mean they are jealous.
The person behind the post might simply have seen a repeated similarity in Glam Affair skins versus other comparable skins, which, imho, seems a fair enough conclusion to draw based on the examples.

marketing. Show people something they can’t have immediately, it builds anticipation. Pretty clever actually.
It’s not clever, I know it’s marketing, I know it’s meant to build anticipation, but it’s not smart. Anyone can snap up the idea and put it out before you do, then try to prove who did it first. Some of them do it and leave it for ages before the release and that’s just plain dumb
because they work on a item (widouth showing WIP) and then a dumbass come and say “she copied me, i was first”

it’s melon bunny and word has it they have a script that makes items not work for you if you are on their naughty list here’s what I got told “We here at Nibble as well as Black Magic feel that you, the customers, have a right to know. Recently, we were approached by a customer asking if we’ve ever had trouble putting on mesh clothing. They mentioned that when they tried to put on clothing created by the content creator, MelonBunny, the item told them that they were not permitted to use the item. They tried other clothing they had purchased from the creator and received the same message. We had requested them to our sim and questioned them about the ban server and they denied it’s existence. That it was an old system that hadn’t been in use for over 6 months. The customer who had the problem asked them why they would have banned, since they only had purchased the item 2 months prior. MelonBunny ignored this, but the customer continued, saying they had only recently contacted MelonBunny to ask if they were going to provide breast size support for one of their dresses. MelonBunny had responded by saying that the customer had no right to request anything for any product of theirs. When we continued to ask about why the ban system was in place, MelonBunny’s first excuse was that they make more profit when their items are no modify. We pushed a second time and their response was that they don’t want to see anyone’s “ugly textures” on their work. That it makes them like their own products less. They’re not the only ones who use this kind of sneaky, horrible script. Sweet Baby got caught doing it several years back as well. I’m not sure if they’re still using it, but I stopped buying their products the moment I found out. It’s not ethical at all.
