Do you even read the words before you press the “Post Comment” button? I get you agree but you sound like an immature asshole. “Like OMG!! @ Hahahaha!! It’s some pretty pathetic reasons you are putting out there. Self promotion is a bad thing? Designers do it. DJs do it… Everyone does it. It is pretty much how anyone gets going in any field. If one does not promote themselves doing anything in rl or sl is sorta a waste of time. So whatever point your trying to make here doesn’t even make sense. If you do not promote yourself at least in the beginning now one else will. When referencing to what someone has done to themselves if your going to add some input make sure you actually have something valid to say.
If you read all the comments, and read what i wrote properly, I’m agreeing with a comment made earlier, that gives the opinion that she made the post on this website herself, My comment even starts, “I agree 100% she did this herself!”
That is the kind of self promotion i’m talking about. I don’t think every designer, DJ, blogger etc makes posts on websites pretending to be someone slagging them off to get attention.
Please read what has been written before getting on your high horse, its my opinion she did this herself, I’m agreeing with a previous comment.. and i’m then laughing about how she all on her FB talking about her new friends and likes and blog views. I get that maybe she didn’t and maybe she is just taking advantage of the situation but that’s not my opinion.

#7 I hope the N21 management take care of this, because right now it’s a great event. That was a shitty move, I really hope recolor releases don’t become the N21 norm; the management and other designers deserve better from their peers.
For number 7, I think that designer is part of the Reign family or a friend of theirs. They wont kick her out. It’s all about who you know, who’s ass you kiss and butter up in Second Life.They get into their inner circle & are in most events. You can have the most shitty store as long as you are some “famous” designer or creators or bloggers friend, pal, sissy, twinnie, ma, pa, auntie, kiddo, boo or bae you are as good as gold selling your crappy wares at Second Life’s most “popular” events.
There is no actual fucking that occurs in sl unless you are so far removed from reality that you believe your AV and its pixel movements are real, just sayin.

Truth is hot IRL, and easily one of the most successful designers in SL. Most girls in SL are cheating on their RL husbands with some fat 22 year old kid living with his parents/on welfare. Most would fuck him for nothing, let alone a sponsorship. Also, #5’s blog quality is very good, and she has an insane amount of followers. I don’t know her personally but you would be pretty stupid to not want your items to be blogged by her.

Alice is an amazing blogger… but more importantly she is a wonderful person. She comes to the aid of her friends. She supports other bloggers and isn’t stuck up about it. She shares helpful information to ALL events not just the ones she is sponsored by. I’m appalled that this website allows people to talk bologna and spread insidious rumors about someone they don’t even know. I’m not even a close personal friend of hers but all of these things I have seen her do for myself. I can only imagine what lengths she goes to for her close friends. Whoever posted that heinous rumor, I’m not sure what happened in your life to make you so hateful but please reconsider those things and whether or not you actually know them to be true or are just trying to tarnish someones reputation. 🙁

This website is essentially just a public “burn book” for secondlife. Secrets don’t get posted, just catty insults. I’ve watched the site owners talk about it, and they’re honestly a bit delusional about the whole concept, with ideals such as, “don’t like the content? maybe you should add your own!” as if that is how it works. Then again, here we all are, reading this bullshit.

regarding #2, not true. my theme (pretty in punk) was picked for the april round and i am not a designer nor a blogger for c88 nor affiliated at all with the event in any way other than a shopper. i just submitted the theme and it was picked.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again there is no crime in taking inspiration from real life or anywhere. Even if its copied no 1 really cares so please get over it. designers make what they like copied from real life or inspired.

While you can’t copyright ‘fashion’, due to its utilitarian nature, wouldn’t Second Life be a completely different issue?
Second Life is basically streaming artwork. If you can copyright drawings of fashion, which I believe you can, wouldn’t that extend into Second Life? Basically none of what’s created there is utilitarian or even tangible as a useful item. It’s visual artwork.
I think that is what Elvire was getting at. Herman Miller cleverly made their own 3d models of their trademarked products and you can copyright 3d models.

I think the bigger issue, aside from the obvious, is that the designer used the same art at two events by merely modifying the opacity. I’m not going to inspect the two with a magnifying glass, nor I don’t care if you own all of their tattoos and have tea with them on Sundays…if that’s the case, that’s a seriously lazy designer. Im surprised the event coordinator permitted it.

That is the point of second life.. to be able to come and create either things in your mind or, things that grabbed your attention in rl and gave you the inspiration to create it in second life.

There’s a difference between being inspired by something (i.e. you see a cute shirt with daisies on it, so you go buy the rights to a daisy design, and then create a similar, inspired daisy shirt in SL) and blatant copying/recreating (i.e. saving the picture of the daisy shirt and using that image to create a daisy shirt in SL).
I admire those creators in SL who recognize and respect the hard work RL designers put into their craft and appropriately create *inspired* designs in SL as to not lazily profit off of the backs of others.
And no, I actually don’t own a tattoo in SL. It’s just not my style. Well, maybe on my first couple days in SL from freebie island but they’re long gone thank God lol. But anyway, if it were my style, you still wouldn’t find me actually defending such acts as ripping images off google for profit. That’s like saying “because it benefits me, I think it’s okay and I support it even though it is technically wrong.” Speaks volumes of your character.

It’s understandable that a designer takes “inspiration” from rl influences but this looks like a direct cut and paste. I also agree with Uhhh, the bigger issue is the original was one from the limited project which isn’t supposed to be resold again by the designer. Just fading the colors out is a real lazy way to reuse a product and is really slapping the customers of those that purchased the limited quantity ones in the face in my opinion.

Tbh, when I see sloppy mistakes like that in an ad, it makes me wonder what kind of sloppy mistakes are in the actual product. Regardless of their spelling error, the point is valid and hardly petty. Some designers just don’t have enough pride in their work to do it, or pay to have it done correctly. They’re squandering some serious talent, if you ask me.
So regarding #2. Hate to say it but it seems legit about only designers choosing themes. After all, they are the ones who have to make it. That’s just my two cents. Also #3 yup no 1 curr. Not even me. See I have this thing called a job. So that’s why I don’t actively seek advertising nor do I care. Thanks for posting.
If you’re only going to pick your designer’s themes, only let the designers submit themes. Keeping up an illusion that non-designers might have their themes picked is sucky.
Oh, and maybe enforce the theme instead of letting some people get away with putting out the exact same see-through metallic shit each month regardless of what they’re supposed to be making?
Maybe they have yet to find a decent non designer submitted theme? CRAZY I know that they are actually picky about the presentation of their product.
The designers vote each month on the submitted themes. If your theme isn’t being picked it may be off season, not showing enough of the different types of content or is just not as nice as other themes.
