#11 and #12 How aweful can on person be? This is the most barbaric behavior.Thank you for bringing this savage act to light.

#13 How uncivil of you to attempt to pit creators against each other like this. You aught to feel ashamed. Abusive secret creators like you disgust me.

#4 Just because the shoe is very similar doesn’t make it an exact rip off. Perhaps the style was requested and the flite owner simply changed it up and made it their own or just made it. As do so many in sl… and rl (and1/jordan..Great Value/nabisco) let’s burn them all though for sure and boycott buying from them. Atleast flite has great execution…also 2real designs are also based off of rl designs don’t see his latest up here??

#6 men’s dept is not for men anymore it’s just another event now.

#11 & #12- Gross

#13 it has seemed a trending thing with truth.. just because milks hair is similar doesn’t mean she ripped it off how many ways can you do a down hair style lol.

I feel like its most likely a male designer in there who is feeling a little threatened by the females creating for a male event.
I also dont see anything that would cause such a stir. I am a woman that shops at tmd every month. I will even go as far to purchase a male item if I like it enough. Sheesh!
As far as females creating male items, when they have a female store.. who cares ? the event is a male themed event and they stay true to the rules of the theme. So why does it matter ?
When I saw that spellbound hair store was in the flyer for this round it didnt make me feel angry? I felt intrigued to see what this “female hair” creator was going to come out with as far as male items. Soonsiki is more and more creating for males too . Her items for tmd are always unisex and I think that rocks. Like why should it matter ? Why are people getting threatened by female creators? Are they not just as capable ? Yes indeed I think they are. I am going to continue to shop as a woman at this amazing event. Clothes, hair whatever it is I can get my hands on in the event, sure! why not ? Give it a break guys.
Stop being a bully TWD arse.

Is #6 complaining that the DESIGNERS are female, or that most everything at TMD is not overly testosterone laden steroids soaked I AM MALE ROAR stuff? I see only one item I would consider ‘female’ at TMD this round, cuz umm… it was made for females, but it’s the female version of the male item, which is sitting right next to it…

SL secrets is all a bunch of underdog lesser successful creators trying to sham and degrade successful ones. This community of jealous terds makes me ill.

TMD is on top right now. more so then c88. The designers make top quality and there are never empty spots when opening comes around. MIKEL MONK has alot to be proud of and all his current designers both male and FEMALE are putting out amazing content.

Jealous creator whoever you are, that is upset he allows a few woman creators to make unisex items.. Get over it. The fact is that some things are really nice to put out that male and female can buy. That vest last month for example. the poofy one? Me and my partner both proudly purchased it. Couples shop at that event all the time, which is why its not a bad idea to allow somehting created that can be worn by both sexes. Why cant you just feel lucky you are in that event in the first place?

The woman pretending to be the cancer victim deserves to have her name out there for the real life press to pick up. It’s disgusting behavior.

Also I am intrigued each week a [successful] creator and/or event organizer get’s “named” for something. We have had TMD, The Arcade, The Loft, Apple Fall, Botanical etc. The comments sometimes just seem like some bitter competitors but I have to say I have discovered a whole new world of content recently and been on a shopping spree. So strange to say it thank you virtual-secrets! I know I have no shame, but some of their stuff is really quite good!

Do you all forget that creators like truth and exile have been creating hair for as long as SL has been around?
If you walk into truth he has hundreds of hair styles on the wall.
People like Soonsiki, Little bones moon and milk they popped up doing hair in the last year yeah? Milk and Little bones were doing hairs maybe for longer.
Any way.. my point is these new creators you keep comparing to truth hawk, why ? they are creating hairs that we all are wearing. I see their stuff all over the grid. People wear it and blog it and LIKE it. They have one year maybe 2 years to truths 7 or more and you people act like they have to be as good as him or sham them for horrible hair.
I wouldnt be shocked if it was truth himself that posted that stupid secret about soonsiki “copying” him. It must suck to all the sudden have people outside his grid wide empire competing with him and turning heads.
Hair creators release similar hair all the time. REAL LIFE REFERENCES will do that to you. Same deal with the flite shoes.
Do you really expect creators to create purely from imagination? get over it. you know you are throwing coin at them anyway.

Indigo I wouldn’t waste your energy typing about it. This is the girl that was outed some weeks ago for stalking some designers. She posts here every few weeks pretending she is being victimized (classic stalker tactic to try and isolate the victim of her efforts) and the moment somebody calls her out she pretends she is being bullied.

Regulars here all know who is she is after we realized what she was doing. We just ignore her each week.

There is a lot of nastiness that goes on when creators of content get worried about competition. They bully and fake DMCA’s, they spread rumours. You name it, I’ve seen it all first hand. I was a small creator, I was bullied and harrassed by a very big name creator and it was endless. In the end I quit creating. So it does happen, I dunno of Truth himself did that secret, but that kind of behavour by designers does happend and it’s viscious.

Milk and Soonsiki are the same person, she just changed her branding. My alt has that latest freebie and the new textures are an improvement on the Milk ones (which admittedly isn’t hard). I can’t get too worked up about her ‘copying’ Truth when it’s such a generic style and they’re so easy to tell apart. Truth’s version is your classic catwalk model blowout, Soonsiki’s has more of a puffy curly 80’s vibe. Different brands, different markets.

TMD owner and creator mikel monk strongly encourages designers both MALE AND FEMALE to create UNISEX items. That doesnt change the environment of the event at all. Nothing there is female geared.
TMD doesnt require the creators to be MALE. Female designers are also allowed inside to create for it.
I have yet to see anything feminine created for this event.
If you are in this event as a creator and posting trash on this bloody site about it, you better hope mikel doesnt figure your ignorant ass out.
The group did just have a clean out recently and that was in order to allow people in who are actively creating you bloody backstabbing idiot.

Shm, #6 reeked of bullshit. Blame it on the female creators (cuz I’m sure all the creators who make unisex or female stuff in SL are women as I’m sure all the creators who make things that are male are in fact men irl) for there not being many male things in SL because shocking the market dictates what is made because profit. People make things that sell, therefore there are more things for female avatars (quite a few dudes play female avis, so save your hate for women for your MRA parties) because more people want to have female avatars, this could do with how big sex stuff is/was in SL not sure. I know starting off it’s far easier to get free girl stuff than dude things. Also, I would guess that more women play SL than men (or at least men with male avatars). This is because the average dude is not as interested in what SL has to offer, they’d probably rather play video games in the 18-35 age range than sit and chat/shop in SL. Shortly, who cares if they have unisex or even female things at the men’s sale’s even. As a female customer with a female avi I don’t even bother with TMD, now if they had unisex stuff (like furniture etc) I might check it out if it applies to me. Otherwise they do not even get a look from me. I’m sure the name alone makes quite a few people with female avi’s not shop there but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad event. Wouldn’t you as a business own want to expand your audience? I swear the general public is so freaking ignorant when it comes to business, marketing and supply/demand. You as a shop owner should know better and… Read more »

For those who don’t know about Tricia Olrich, she owns the 50ish connected family roleplay sims called Olrich Estates. She brags about having more money than braincells, and is one of those who seem to think she’s untouchable in SL. You know the ones, they run around surrounded 6 deep with fanboi/girls who tell her to ignore the haters or tell her that everyone who speaks out against her is just jealous. They fawn over her beauty and would sanctify her if they could. She has been posting photos on her facebook claiming to be this lovely little blonde. Thanks to the powers of the internet, folks did a search and found that the photos she had posted belonged to a woman who’s never played SL and is currently fighting for her life from Hodgkins Cancer. I know you guys will want proof so here we go: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100005223199478&fref=ts — Screenshots of Tricia’s since deleted facebook photo posts and where she tries to say she’s the one with cancer despite the dates this real girl being in the hospital and Tricia being active in SL making that impossible. http://www.gofundme.com/tiffanymaj —- Tiffany Maj’s GoFundMe asking for help to pay her hospital bills. So. In short. Tricia must have enough money to run 50ish sims and at 300USD a month per sim that comes out to $15000USD a month going into SL. Anyone with that kind of cash could absolutely afford to pay her doctor bills. The photos, as shown, do not add up, kitchens are different, trees are different, ect ect. So either Tricia is lying and has 2 kitchens, several boyfriends, cancer and quite literally more money than brain cells or the more likely, she’s a lying bitch, now trying to play on the sympathy of her followers all the while… Read more »

We care and there is no way she’s making a profit. Her sims with stores she rents free, The decor on the sims take up too many prims so their is no way that the houses that are rented are supporting the prims and she’s said herself that she’s losing money on the sims. Her claim was that she lost over $1k a month on the sims.

Again you can’t copyright hair styles anymore than you can copyright shoes. So IF he is copying hairstyles and making a mint, why would he give a shit how you feel or anyone feels about it, if you don’t like it don’t buy there. They are cheap, good quality, so you won’t stop it and he won’t care if he doesn’t get your patronage.

#4 Those shoes aren’t entirely ripped off but its still pretty fucked up that Flite would copy every single detail from the Versace shoe with no originality added. It kinda sickens me to see that and I am having second thoughts about buying Flite shies now. Good find!

#6 Agreed. TMD isn’t what it used to be. It is one thing to add a few women’s items but it seems like they are doing everything they can to squeeze out as much revenue as they can and if I’m not mistaken, I believe there were gachas in one of the previous men’s dept which is very irritating.

I have to say this about TMD though..

Yes I hate that they have women and unisex items there BUT the men items they have had there are the usual cookie cutter hipster/d-bag/thug clothing and accessories.

Not every guy wants their pants to make them look like their ass is at their knees or the same old hair under a beanie or another man purse.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few clothes that aren’t of that nature but that is few and far between. The December round wasn’t too bad this time I have to say.

#3 Dying to know who this one’s about.

#6 What’s wrong with unisex items? I have a female avatar and I don’t like to look like a runway model or stripper all the time, so I for one appreciate being able to wear more androgynous or boyish clothes.

#9 and #10, thank you. ♥

@ Hint – Did you even read the secret?

“Nowhere did anyone say that they care about the gender of the creators for this event. That is so utterly irrelevant. Nobody gives a flying fuck if the items at TMD are created by man, woman or furry.”

Except that the Secret did say that, a huge chunk of the comment under the pic is actually ranting about that exact thing.

“Now that the w$men of SL have caught on, they are invading TMD, and TMD organizers are happily letting them in. Long-time male store participants have even been kicked out in order to make room for these women who decide to make a ‘mens’ or ‘unisex’ item just to line their greedy pockets a little more than it already was.”

@mhmm – You are not understanding correctly. Nowhere did anyone say that they care about the gender of the creators for this event. That is so utterly irrelevant. Nobody gives a flying fuck if the items at TMD are created by man, woman or furry. Or for that matter if they predominantly create items for women. Only that the content is geared towards men and is of the high standard that we have come to expect.

If a female creator wants to make stuff for TMD, then great – but let it be relevant (which for the most part it is). The fear is that it will go from being TMD -> TUD -> TWD (i.e. just another event).

@groans – The first comment here said “unisex (aka girls stuff)”. I didn’t just pull the unisex comment out of my bum. 😉 It looked like some people – or at least one – was equating unisex with girly, which is obviously wrong. I haven’t seen any “girly” items there at all, for that matter, but then again that commenter might just be a lone wolf. More people have commented and nobody’s outright called it girly. Whew! If TMD did actually have girly items, I’d be complaining, too! I like the idea of TMD. It’s frustrating trying to find nice stuff for my boyfriend, and realizing that there are far fewer options than there are for me. When my male friend started playing SL, the first place I took him to get ideas was the TMD sim. Trust me, I’m definitely not dismissing that at all. But if I’m understanding correctly, most of you are upset that, while the items themselves are geared toward men, the creator – the person behind the computer – is female… or the store isn’t exclusively geared toward men. What about Casa Del Shai? I think that store is pretty generally accepted as a “men’s store,” right? I know that’s how I always thought, especially since that’s mostly what’s presented in the events they participate in. But go into the mainstore and turn left. Yep, women’s stuff. And that store’s creator is female. What about Belleza and Truth being women’s items created by men? Or what about all the stores in We <3 RP that don't normally specialize in RP/fantasy stuff, but do a great job of it when it comes time for that event? I've never heard anyone complain about those examples (maybe someone has, just saying I haven't heard it). I guess I… Read more »

The clue is in the name of the event. It’s not The Unisex Dept. The point is that women are VERY well catered to in SL. Men get ONE event and now, thanks to it’s own success and the number of women drawn to it, has resulted in the organisers allowing content not aimed specifically at males. i.e. it’s now just another event.

Well there’s such a thing as Intellectual Property infringement. Like Apple and Samsung making products/technologies that are so similar that one of them claims the other one copied them, and sues. That particular example has actually happened, more than once. But I think the difference here is, Flite isn’t making an actual RL shoe and trying to sell it as their own design. Similar to the other thing here about parodies and comments, when someone got their panties in a twist about using Aida’s ad pic. It’s all about how you use it. So in this case, maybe you could argue the shoe is unoriginal (I mean, they could at least change SOMETHING about it, I’ll give you that), you can’t argue it’s illegal or violating a copyright. I think people should research this sort of thing a bit more, before they hurl accusations so frivolously.

#2: I love her skins even if they aren’t drastically different, the makeup makes them look a bit different. I also like how her skins are default Maitreya mesh body skins.

#4: Who gives a flying fukk?? They’re well done and obviously inspired by. So many creators do that. Why single them out?

#6: I can understand the frustration, but I went there recently to get those Mandala ears and saw that it’s still mostly men stuff, and also men design at women specific events as well.

#11/12: That is sad if it’s true. Using a cancer patients pictures to catfish. Disgusting. She’s beautiful though, the REAL lady that is.

#13: TRUTH be told, I love both Truth and Soonsiki, and I’m sorry but Truth is inspired by real life hairstyles also isn’t he? A lot of hairstyles start looking similar anyhow but I’ll still buy them. The textures are quite different as well as other small differences.

I don’t think anyone here actually understood the photo regarding Truth/Soonsiki. The hair from Truth is FOR SALE at Uber. The other hair in question is from Soonsiki and it is a FREE GIFT. The poster is referring to Soonsiki copying Truth’s style. BUT REALLY who hasn’t done a Farrah style hair before?! I’m sure Truth has already releases 20 versions of this style of hair in the last 8 years! lol. It’s nothing new. Really, it is pretty much guaranteed that you can find 50 different versions of any style of hair these days.

Truth has been doing this for years. Its part of WHY he is so popular, no one can catch up because everytime they make a hair style, he does the same one. Someone “stealing sales” does not mean they are empty in the wallet, why do you think it means that? It’s just them ensuring their wallet is packed for years to come. Truth does what he does to stay ahead of the game and make sure no one else can ever catch up. It is one thing if someone is inspired by the same hair style references, but Truth goes as far as targeting “smaller” brands, and redoing the same releases right after they do. He has not done this once, or twice, he has done this repetitively. So don’t compare to similar unintentional happenings between other brands.

#13 re: are you an idiot? The debate is not about whether someone is “inspired by RL hairstyles,” it’s that he is deliberately recreating items immediately after other brands create them in order to steal their sales. The fact he made this one free is even more shocking. Whether or not the style exists in RL is moot.

If that is the debate there is no debate. Truth is one of, if not the, most popular hair maker on the grid. He doesn’t have to steal sales. He gets them by merely existing. Every time he has a sale the sim is full for days.
I really don’t understand why this brand is again connected with accusations that Truth is stealing from them.
Its not the first time nor the last, that 2 hair makers will make a similar style. For example for C88 last year truth and that hair store in every round that doesn’t have black textures (forgot the name) did the same style. The only difference was the bow placement was on opposite sides. Nobody got butthurt and started making accusations.

Oh and Little Bones also made a similar style as to whats in the secret. Guess they were trying to steal sales too??

2. Why is this a secret? Why not state in a blog? I know this has been topic of conversation among a few of my friends for some time now. Her skins ARE pretty and very well done, but 97% of them look just the same. But, whatev, ultimately it’s Aida who has to decide if she is happy with what she produces.

3. I am AFK from SL for a couple months and I have no clue who this banned Deity is!

#1. It’s called remove them from Facebook? Or you can unfollow people if you just HAVE to have them on your Facebook. It’s not a big deal.

#2. I see you’ve had a slow week. Don’t like it, don’t buy it? My av looks like shit in GA most of the time, so I don’t buy it. Easy decision *and* I didn’t have to waste everyones time by making a secret about it. WOW.

#4. Well done on the aspect ration on the RL image there, champ. Copying a RL fashion item is not illegal. Sorry to burst your crusading bubble there.

#11 and #12. I did some googling there, and the worst part about impersonating that Tiffany Maj girl, is that Tiffany has Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and whoever this Tricia Olrich chick is has the audacity to try and play Tiffanys pics of as hers? That’s so fucking low, and really really horrible.

#13. No one cares about non problems like copying the same RL design.

#2 The picture was published as ‘Copyright – all rights reserved’. You could have at least tried to come up with something creative yourself, huh?

Zero, I don’t think you understand how this works.

Section 107 of the Copyright Act states:

“the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright.

In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include—the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes;

the nature of the copyrighted work; the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.”

http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#107

SL Secrets images are presented as commentary, we as commenters are allowed to comment upon the images.

You *could* argue defamation of character, I guess – but that would require Aida to give a fuck about what asshole anons say on the internet, and I doubt Aida is that upset, I’m sure she’s losing loads of sleep while she makes bank, cause some whiner on the internet doesn’t like her skins.
