Ok here is my take on the goings on here.
Apple copies things from RL and/or is inspired by; there is nothing wrong with doing that. I like Apple Fall, I will continue to buy, I’m not concerned about it.
Scarlet as in Charlotte, works with or for Apple, collaborates with or whatever you want to call it.
Scarlet has been very vocal about copyright and originality and has been known to look down her noise at anything not completely original, perhaps a bit unrealistic. She has called people out on it regularly over the years on flickr, blogs and forums. So I think what getalife is saying is; it looks a bit hypocritical. It is unrefutable in my opinion that Apple has copied real life pieces ( links have provided of the chair, you deny it) and she is in collaboration with him. I’m familiar with her work, I don’t think she copies, let me be clear on that.
That’s what I think has been said here, albeit very poorly articulated.
Are you that loon who practically stalks Scarlet and thinks she’s out to get you? Because you seem SUPER into her.
If you know all these things over the years, that seems to show you have been seriously following somebody’s actions/movements. I have been following the blogs and forums for 3 years. I am in all these creators groups and never seen a word from her on that? And I would term myself a fan so pretty involved as I buy new releases and also blog myself so am on the feeds.
Am I right? I am reading some poster called getoverit and my take, is trying some passive aggressive harassment and under a fake name because she is so honest? I think I know where my logic stands.
What is the point? Like others have posted, I read this site for the fun but I slowly getting pissed at people trying to use my readership for their personal problems not even related to the secrets posted.
It’s starting to cross a line from fun of a secret to somebody is really trying to harm a individual. Half of this posting it’s not even related to the secret (despite how the poster is flailing around which we all realize is the same person). It’s weird and keeps happening.
The actual secret is Apple being original. He isn’t original. There finished. But I am also not stupid, getoverit probably posted the secret so she could again use this site to troll us all.
GetOverIt why did you just post on a different name as “my take”? We get it, you have a vendetta against a creator. I looked at her Flickr, she seems to be having issues with somebody stalking and harassing her. Are you the same individual? If not, perhaps provide your SL name? Either way don’t drag us into your games.
I think her work is amazing only discovering it due to the comments you made on this board, so your plan is backfiring. I hope you realize that targeting an individual this way could perceived as harrassment?
All this is making want, is to go shopping at AF. I love seeing designers take items from RL and implement them here. Like.. ugh.. I wish I could have that side board I saw at Crate And Barrel, or that dining set from Pier 1 in my SL house.. and bam, done.
as for #1 Considering she keeps filing counter suits against these trolls that keep filing claims (against her as well), the only one that isn’t having fake DMCAs against them is.. well.. Slink.
Because Lea has been counter filing against them, that’s why. I had a long conversation with her back when WoWMeh got DMCA’d as she was trying to help Baby with that whole bs. Each time she has a claim filed against her, she counter files, LL looks at it, lawyers get involved and back in world, because the claims are false.
I have a theory about that, its probably farfetched, and I probably should go craft myself a tin foil hat, but anyways:
I think Slink (and the Mesh Project) has been able to avoid the fake DMCA’s is because they are huge mesh body part creators, and whoever is filing these claims knows better, and they’re learning the hard way the Belleza isn’t one to be messed with either – they even used a fake name while filing the DMCA, so what does that tell you?

Banned has been the only one to keep ALL of their mesh butts and bodies on the market – other than Slink and TMP – so it’s pretty suspicious. Plus, they’re Cute Azz knockoff looks a crap ton like the Cute Azz, and like someone else said, their vendor ads are crappy. You’d think someone who legitimately “corners the market” on mesh butts would be able to create – or pay for – a nice vendor ad. It’s all just very very suspicious.
Using RL inspiration and references is not illegal since their is no trademark infringement. Maybe you also didn’t notice in your comparison photos that AF’s wingback chair design was also 100% charity donation. FFS stop being such bitches and go enjoy the damn holidays.

Apple doesn’t seem to hide he uses RL inspiration. I just wondered why another creator was being picked on by this same individual who seems to have nothing to do with the secret or products. I agree with Jenny it looks like people are getting bullied by this person.

I tell you something Getoveritdogs I read this site every week. And there has been this undertone of harassment from a poster and I think it is you. My first visit and I have to say I was hugely impressed. To my eye you can tell from a mile off the houses are original designs, and very unique. The furniture there was only a few couches out in the store and each one while a little generic I could not find in the Hardware Restoration catalog on line. So in summary, this is another case of (I suspect the same individual) trying to hurt, damage or otherwise inflict problems with lies about an organizer or a creator. Perhaps I am bored and reading this site too much, but it really seems after the last weeks that somebody has a fixation on a few creators. It’s getting old, is this a personal vendetta? Does anybody know?
Also is this the same person posting all the negative comments, and if so do they realize we are not stupid here? The fake passive aggressive bullshit doesn’t fly with me. Put up links on all the creators you name showing the proof so we can actually see if you have a point? If not it does the opposite for me, it make me realize how much their work brightens my SL.
If you’re going to make secrets don’t bloody assume we all know who you’re referring to. Put their names up too for Christ sakes!

#1 is about Banned Booty who is supposedly the ones filing the DMCAs against everyone. I find everything about their products highly suspicious (like how you can use phat azz scripts for their mesh butt to the horribly done vendors).
She is talking about Scarlets that is the sim next door. I just went there can’t see a single copy and I know restoration hardware like the back of my hand.

Are you all seriously stanning so hard for a store you like that you would be so oblivious to them using RL designs and be all “Show me the links”. Apple Fall is talented at copying RL designs in sl, don’t like it, don’t buy from him. Is it unoriginal? Yeah but he is skilled so that makes up for it plus some people want to buy stuff in SL that they could never afford to own irl. He also did a knock off Yankee Candle in sl and I bought it solely because it was a knock off Yankee Candle (yes, I judged myself for buying it but I did it). The comments are so silly, he doesn’t even hide the fact he bases his stuff of RL designs (see pic below, he compares the RL pic he is copying with his SL WIP). Also, can we stop with this whole bashing people who do RL designs drama, it’s rather stale and never changes anyway. People buy it and like it so it’s never going away. Also, the sad people are throwing on these secrets are way too subtle, I wish they would name names a bit more. I can’t even “get” half of the secrets, I feel so out of the fashion loop.

I don’t know flutter, I was referring to the sim next door not the store. I also have no issue with the lack of originality. Go to the site yourself and see the beds, game boards, storage etc you can see it’s a copy, it aint no big thang. The point being made is no one gives a toss if its copied from real life, it is not a breach of copyright; maybe it lacks originality maybe he just like the stuff at Restoration Hardway. Can you put up direct links if you are going to accuse people if not you just sound like a dick who has a grudge. Like last week with the bullshit over the organizers of the Arcade and scripts. Cowards are going to sit on the internet and make up stuff because (a) jealous (b) don’t have the skill themselves (c) are weirdos who crave attention and become resentful when they fail to obtain it. The same posters here seem to have a real beef with the Arcade, Apple Fall and apparently now “the bitch” next door. So more digs at Flowry who has the store next door to Apple I assume. Flutter is really a sweet soul and while I think it is ok to critique some ones work, if you are going to resort to harassing them by name calling, you better stand up and put your name to it.

#7 If you think that Apple Fall is original, then you’ve not looked at a Restoration Hardware catalog any time in the last two years. Most what he has on offer is just a simple recreation of what’s in those catalogs. When he’s not copying Restoration Hardware, he’s busy using other people’s art without credit or permission.

Dear step away, I think it’s time to adjust your dosage and/or glasses. The only thing contested here is whether or not Apple Fall was original. Secret #7 suggests that he is, I clearly think he is not. I have no problem with his lack of originality, so long as his copying doesn’t run afoul of the law.
