#2 – I’d say go fuck yourself but I doubt even you would have you with that kind of attitude. I know exactly who you’re talking about, and no, not everyone thinks they are 16. The fact of the matter is, that person is a young adult, who lives on their own terms with their own job that they keep, spending their money on whatever the fuck they want to spend it on. And what do you do? What exactly do you do with your life that makes you so much better than that person? Because someone is hyper, or someone is overly excited, upset about something, being silly, whatever the case is – You don’t have any right to assume nobody likes them, or that everyone thinks they are 16. I like them, and anyone who knows them is well aware that they are not sixteen. If you have a problem, say something. Don’t keep quiet and bitch behind a shadow.
Not even going to hide my identity. But you are very true. I find it funny that they say the don’t care and this but they took the effort to find a picture and edit it just for me! I have such adoring fans, but really #2 just grow up and confront me about it. Don’t hide behind a shadow only makes it worse. We are all equal here and no one is better than the other, simply mute the plurk and move on with your life.
I’d rather have a partner, and friends for that matter, who enjoyed being around me for me. Not for the look of my avatar… or even my real physical self.

When you’re oppressing someone else in order to obtain personal pleasure and enjoyment from them? Yeah, you get a huge dose of Fuck You.
However, as I said before, people obviously want to treat others like material possessions and there are a good number of people willing to go along with it, for whatever reason. So, whatever.
Do you understand that if a female avatar turns herself into something her partner finds hideous, and then expects him to love her anyway and not leave, despite his discomfort, that she is, according to your system, oppressing him in order to obtain personal pleasure and enjoyment from him?
You just don’t get it, do you, and you never will. This guy isn’t murdering, raping, oppressing, mistreating, or demanding. He told his partner if she continued to pursue a look he didn’t like, he would leave. It was her choice then to either break up or stay and return to the look he was used to. We don’t necessarily have those easy options in RL, but this isn’t taking place in RL. And yeah, even then it’s not necessarily going to be emotionally easy for her to make her choice. But it’s not this gigantic representation of a global nightmare of oppression, either. It’s pretty much a variation of what many couples go through every day when one of them changes some aspect of themselves.
There’s a distinction between doing something to please others and create a compromise and flat out changing your wants and needs 100% just because someone demanded it of you.
And yes, while you can log out of SL or remove that person from your list or your second life, when your emotions are involved, it’s not that easy. I guess I made the mistake of trying to give the unknown SL Secret target a voice and others like her in a similar situation a voice in a general sense.
When you’ve been backed into a corner for years by someone you cared about and they mistreated you, you too would take the stance that everyone should be able to do freely as they wish. Saying that oppressing someone else is also ok because that’s how they want to live their life isn’t acceptable. That’s like saying it’s ok to rape and murder someone simply because they thought it would make them feel good and hey who doesn’t want to feel good. I mean, according to your system, right?
How do you oppress someone online?? You can log out, oppression gone. You guys are taking this way too seriously. Its a virtual world you can change how you look with a click. You can get rid of people you don’t like with a click.

To the guy about to leave his partner because of her looks, that fact that you’re concerned about what someones PIXELS do for your boner tells me that you have very Unrealistic idea’s about relationships and women’s bodies in general, so you probably aren’t ready to be in a serious relationship in any world, any way. lol. God forbid you get married in rl and your wife puts on some baby weight :O

I would have done what I wanted despite the poll, but surprisingly the poll turned out to want no moderation at all. While Lourdes and I do believe in that philosophy we will moderate tired horse whipped secrets (a la incest family or shoe whoring) and anything we deem inappropriate.
#5 is true. I’ve had a number of men in SL tell me they love my shape because they are disgusted with the gremlin body and no they weren’t hitting on me. They were just commenting about females and now male trends that are gross. Like neko’s with bling shoes. Seriously, that Asian squinty head and ghetto booty crap needs to faze out. I think I prefer the nekos with bling shoes again.

I 100% agree! I have her for I think 4 years on my TL now, she posted baby pics of herself that looked like her now just for example so every idiot could see that! She grew to be an awesome friend to me inworld too, and we often voiced and even cammed twice so whoever spread those rumors is wading in bullshit!

#6 .. You are quite right about this one. We will watch an event that has been good thus far now fall into total oblivion because people aren’t going to be frustrated for days on in trying to get there to get stuff. Was a STUPID move on the Arcade organizers part to move the event. Honestly makes you wonder just how greedy they are at this point. I for one will not be spending anymore money at the event. Hope they consider this because they have probably pissed off a lot of people.
It sounded like the Arcade couldn’t stay where they used to be because that guy who owned the sims left. I feel like the only one excited for the move here bc I always crash while cam shopping over excessive texture load from all that stuff rezzed on ground level .I also wont miss being ejected from orbs on parcels.
Now you aren’t able to play for the first 2 weeks, cuz you can’t get on the SIM, or you crash cuz of the lag.
Anyway,
I miss the old Arcade days, where you could trade among friends and had a community who enjoyed gacha and Arcade, now the most people just play out of greed.
Look up on SL Marketplace where so called Yardsale owners charging double or triple for a simple common (not retired).
Or that almost every Store puts the Machine after the Arcade, in their stores, i mean the stuff used to be exclusive in the old days.
Sadly no fun anymore…
Items are only exclusive in that they have to be a new item that is only available at the event during *the duration* of the event.
Addressing the comment you made below regarding templates: they do actually allow some use of templates as long at they are basically changed to the point where you can no longer recognize the template. So no template recolored mesh, but you could use a small piece of fencing in your whole house yard scene thing or whatever.
I’m not an organizer obviously but this is what I took from last year when there was drama stuff over someone using a piece of a kit in their items. If I am wrong someone correct me bu that is what the organizer was saying last time.

Arcade items were never exclusive, the vendors always had the option to put their items in their stores. Some did and some did not. Nothing has changed.
I just remember the first 2 and it was said made exclusive for Arcade.. maybe i’m wrong…
I thought the exclusive was a rule in the old days…

They are charging creators 5k to be in this round, so that’s 100 x 5k, on top of that the sponsors pay around 100k I am lead to believe, and the donations on top of that…they are renting a Sim and a homestead so assuming they are paying for it full time the costs are only going to be around the 400k every 3 months They are going to be making A LOT of money. while the creators will be making a lot less

The Arcade chat group is a pain the arse (seriously, it’s gotten more anal over time) and most of the gacha machines don’t get retired after the event ends. They just move to their respective stores. So…
If trading is next to impossible (which it is, unless you luck out and prefer the trendy stuff) and getting into the inevitably laggy sim is also difficult… What’s the point?

You must be one of those controlling male pig types. This is second life. Your partner should have the same freedom that you do of choosing how she looks and how she plays. She can do far better than you.
The only reason why that shape is unattractive is because it’s simply unrealistic. A real living person shaped like that would never be able to walk ever. You’d be confined to a bed and have to see specialists for your skeletal disorder.
However, it is not a “fat” shape. It’s not even remotely obese or overweight. And even if it was, who cares? That’s their decision. You are a thoughtless dickbag, giving this much of a shit about how someone else looks, even if it is a Second Life avatar. At least they can resize their shit. Right, she has every right to look exactly like she wants to, and he has every right to decide whether or not that’s what he wants to look at on his screen. He told her she was turning into something he would rather not look at. It was her choice to either continue down that road without him or change back to the shape he had originally liked, which in SL is a matter of clicking a mouse button. If she wished to continue to pursue the look he disliked, then she could break up with him.
Yup SL is visual venue, also a mirror to RL..

I’m not a fan of this shapes, but i think in SL you can look like YOU want, not like somebody wants you to look.
RL is shallow enough, let them look how they want to.
