Is the “family community” in SL dead or just real quiet these days? I swear for a few years every other secret was about a kid avatar or adoptions or a camp/school/club/whatever. Now it’s like one every few weeks. Curious if the trend of being a kid died off or if it dramaed itself to death?
Most people who are older kids (8-12) have been doing it for a while and grown out of the whole family/school/camp rp thing. I still see a good number of toodledoos because that’s what’s popular/considered cute/what family rpers want but we’re long past the days of Hardknock Elementary and the kid avvie fad. This right here… so much shit talking about older people being in SL from absolute imbeciles in their early 20s who are literally throwing away the best part of their lives, the time when they’re supposed to be exploring and doing stupid shit in the real world so they have experiences to grow from and stories to tell later, just to sit on their ass on a computer instead. You have a point with the education and working, but I feel like you can still do those things later- to diminishing returns, certainly, but it’s not a door that closes. The way life feels in your early 20s though? That’s irreplaceable.

Most of the people in SL now don’t do anything but sit at their computer from waking to the time they sleep, SL is their crack and they wear the same crusty pyjamas everyday and whine about why they don’t have a life and how RL sucks and then they rot at their computers. All they do is order take away fast food and whine why they got a headache. You got a headache cause you sit in the same spot at your computer staring at a virtual reality for 12 hours a day ofcourse you’re going to be unhealthy.
I’m ok with well telling people here that are chronically on line to go touch grass or go outside cause I see them on my friends list the 2 days a week I login. You can IM them and they respond instant cause they’re so lonely and sick. Sitting at a computer all day everyday staring at a screen and eating fast food is litterally rotting their brains.
I spend may be an hour a week writing comments on here and it’s usually during the 2 days I login to second life when my kids are doing afterschool activities. All other times I’m outside with my kids and husband and working. I’m moving around and enjoying RL unlike these people who do need to touch grass litterally.

As someone who was banned for “ageplay” yet never even thought about participating in it I can confirm this is true. The other people responding don’t know what they’re talking about. If you get reported by multiple people with premium it’s an instant ban without consideration, LL wants to keep their paying customers happy. It happened to a few people I’ve known about
Two can play at that game. I, too, was mass reported by people who hated me for a drama to long to detail. To put it simply I had two communities come together to mass report me for “age playing”. And you know what happened?
LL investigated and I was cleared. How do I know? LL told me. And a lot of the members who reported me were premium.
LL saves everything. All of your logs all of your teleports everything is logged. They will check it if they have to, but only when they are told to. So what ever you had in your back logs was enough to warrant the ban.

LL knows how people can be. A mass report would definitely entail a deep investigation and not an instant ban.
My account was banned from a mass report but after about ten minutes of talking to a customer service rep it was reinstated. They will ban an account for a mass report but it’s usually pretty clear and easy to take care of if the reports are unfounded.

I find that hard to believe, but if it were true then there would need to be tons of people reporting it. I can’t see one person sending in multiple reports getting the job done. Hell, I myself have repeatedly reported someone for griefing and nothing happened to them. so clearly it takes a LOT or some damning evidence.
