Of course, the Genus heads are altered by whoever is ripping them a bit but the guy worked for probably the biggest game studio.

    That’s why you aren’t finding who it was in SL because it wasn’t an existing creator, but someone coming into sl to use their talents to sell mesh items since their work is on lockdown.

      • Everything that i have read from their Facebook about the body says that its not a tummy talker at all. It does not emote anything at all. Its a mesh body with the animesh baby attachment. The body starts off not pregnant with no attachment. The stomach is suppose to grow via animation. So no having to adjust your shape unless for any reason you want to though. But anyway the baby part is just and extra mesh add on that works with the pregnancy. No talking , no spamming. Its all visual effects and a hud for adjustments. So this body would be perfect for people who prefer not to use those talkers at all, and for those you would use one as an add on if they still preferred. I imagine the Legacy Pregnant Body does look nice though. I have never tried it though as I dont need one.I cant imagine this Zooby body being nearly as expensive as that seeing as most people will only use it for a pregnancy.

      • Doesn’t stop the lag concern, though the next problem I’m foreseeing here is if it’s a whole mesh body (if I’m understanding you correctly), it would require clothes specially rigged for it. It’ll take time for that to build up and depending on how they handle developer kits, the stores who sign up might not be very good.

        Hope it works out for them though. That’s a tough venture to start out in with an already competitive body market.

  34. As generous as the shops giving gift heads are, Catwa isn’t obligated to give anything. Neither is Lelutka. Can’t you just be happy you got gifts without demanding other shops follow suit.

    Also, Catwa is on the record as not being the DCMA complainant. If you read informative forums, you might know that.

    • Yeah, they don’t care; they just want someone to blame, don’t care if it’s correct, and love talking shit about Catwa, even though if you take into consideration the variety for both men and women, stable releases/bug fixes, animations, and add-ons she still makes the best heads in SL easily. Everyone I know who’s in that Genus group has told me how much people are in there complaining about their eyes bugging out or talking about how they have to go spend an extra 2k on a third party HUD just to be animated at all.

      • I don’t know about any of those complaints. It sounds like people who are new to mesh heads. I adjusted to a shape and seem to be doing just fine with the gift head. I bought a new skin that fits it better, but other than that – just the usual new head adjustment stuff.

Trying to defend why it’s justified would likely cause some fallout, but lying that you didn’t do it, and then having it come out that you did, just looks shady as fuck. They didn’t have to say anything. I get why people think it’s them, but I’m not so sure.

      • They already know who filed the DMCA and they are filing a counter-complaint. It’s not Catwa, but I don’t blame people for saying its’ her given her track record. Some people in-world were saying it’s an outside source that filed the DMCA. Meaning it was someone who wasn’t an SL resident. This means if someone sees their work on SL being profited without their permission they can file a DMCA. They can actually sue Linden Lab for it as well.

    • That’s what no one really wants to admit, that there might be a valid reason for it; they’d rather destroy a person who has nothing to do with it and their business than admit maybe Genus wasn’t totally on the up and up.

    • It isn’t that hard. The only thing that stops people from doing it regularly I think, is that if the party you file against actually objects, and hires an attorney, you’ve got to hire one too. That’s a big disincentive for just doing it to screw with people, but I hear about that happening across creator communities every day (not just SL).

      • The other big reason is that unless you have a RL registered company to file under, you also have to reveal RL personal information. Now, the person who first files the DMCA does not have that revealed unless the receiving party counter-files. At that point both parties have their RL information disclosed.

        While it makes sense that this sort of thing would be needed in order to proceed with legal action, people have used this in the past to bully people. They file a false DMCA either wanting their personal info, and/or knowing the victim doesn’t want to disclose it to them; effectively holding their creations for ransom since they have to challenge the claim.

      • Many people still wear Truth, he’s one of the most popular hair creators and has been even before Mesh became a thing, I wouldn’t completely dismiss Truth as a sucky hair creator if I were you.

        If you consider the time he’s been around and how many stores have come and gone in that time, it says a lot about him as a designer and creator that he’s survived this long on a platform such as SL, and it also says something about the quality of his hairs…

    • I like elements of Doux – the fatpack will have four variants, small or big boob fit and the overall quality is good, but many of the styles are very, um, ‘Kardashian’ or ‘prom night’. It’s Jersey shore! it’s Ladies Day at the races, its where lottery winners go! It’s an easyJet flight to Marbella, it’s getting drunk on Prosecco, a bungalow in Essex. It’s having a strong accent. It’s common and proud! It eat’s with it’s elbows out!

    • Truth and Doux have the same problem in that they both have fallen into the “safe” rut. They make same-y looking basic hair because that’s what keeps selling. We can sit here and criticize all day long, but they’re succeeding by doing this and turning profit with relatively low risk. The only way for this sort of thing to diminish is for people to invest in stores that do more broadly creative products or being something new with their creations.

      But let’s be real here, most average SL users just want to have hair like whatever celebrity or influencer they like in RL and that’s where these styles get pulled from.

      • This I will agree with- but I guess it doesn’t bother me because I’m not stupid enough to buy basically the same hair twice, just because one of them is new. Some people’s self-esteem is apparently tied very closely to wearing the newest shit, regardless of what is actually good, or how many other people are doing it at the same time lol

      • I’d LOVE to find hair that has boob options AND is weird/funky/anime/punk/pretty all in one. I support Truth because even though it’s plain Jane…it fits boobs at least. AND the textures are awesome. I wish other shops like say, Phoenix or Doe would update their textures as with other hair stores.

        Boob options are the most important to me, next are the textures/colors available, fit next. A lot of hair creators make hair for TINY heads, like wtf, we’re not all wanting to look like we’re 12 ffs.

      • Could try Raven Bell for punky/anime styles. Their textures are pretty nice with variety and they’ve been working on Alpha textures from what I’ve seen. Not sure about the boob options since I don’t shop for those myself, but it’s worth a shot.

      • It’s possible to have anime-inspired styles (within the realm of reason) and look adult. Dura has a lot of anime and game inspired hair that can achieve this.

      • @Pocketsand – Of course. However, if you look at the majority, it is all very anime looking and looks like it would fit on teenager going through a phase. Much like emo or scene hair. I did not mention Dura as almost everyone in existence knows of Dura. Dura is also the exception as they make high-quality hair of varying style. Just search’ anime’ in the hair category on the marketplace and you will instantly see what I mean.

        @2005 – Calm down. Anime hair is exactly what you would find in anime, which is usually based on younger characters that have out of place hairstyles. When you just say anime, I am going to take it as the majority and assume you want some Cloud Strife looking hair or hair like that guy has from Yu-Gi-Oh! What was his name again? Yugi Mutou.

        Also, not to mention, a lot of faces in anime are youthful and smaller as they are based on Japanese people, who have smaller faces. There are exceptions, but as I have said, the majority is at play here.

        Anyway, do not abuse me because you cannot word your post right. You said you wanted anime hair and now, all of a sudden, you want weird hair? Anime and weird are not in the same category. Either way, those hairstyles sell well and are currently trending, which is why they are being made en masse by most hair creators who do not have a niche. All these ‘mainstream’ creators are not going to make anime-inspired hair, no matter how much you wish for it. None of them are going to sit down one day, open Blender, and say, “Hm, I may make hair I saw in an anime I have never seen.”

        It is weird that neither of their hair fits your head as their hair fits my adult male shape with minor tweaking on the forehead. So, unless your shape is literally based on Shrek, you should have no issues making it fit.

        At the end of the day, you could always be useful and make your own hair. If plebs such as Limerence and Ayashi can make hair, surely someone of your… skill and calibre should be able to pump out hair? I cannot wait to see what hair you make! Please leave your store name. Until you can actually create something, fuck up.

Also they use to do links to the hunt’s website with blog/preview pictures of the hunt items. Someone commented on that and the owner of Seraphim lied and said that they have never done that on the site but yes they have because I’ve seen it…hmmm what’s going on there.

    #25 Again? This was put on SL secrets when this first came out, it’s not a poop fetish it’s all mud on the clothes like if you having rough sex in the mud because some people are into that. When erratic first released this someone posted it on secrets saying the same thing that it was a poop fetish but that’s not it at all.

    10. Amen to that, it only takes creators a few seconds to update their profile to the current landing point to their store, and a minute extra to update their links in their profile to Flickr, Facebook, etc.

I am in the Stay At Home Club group, Serenity was in there ranting about Catwa a few days ago and the mods had to step in to get her to stop, and I actually had to block her because all she was doing was ranting about Catwa, and I believe she either left group or got booted out… doesn’t surprise me she went to other groups and stirred crap in those groups too… and she thinks her shit does not stink.

    All in all, a pretty boring week this week SL secrets wise, just had to put in my two cents about the above secrets.

    • The only actual problem I’ve had with the new seraphim site was an actual lack of link to the gallery, and it was addressed within hours of the post. People whining about the website upgrade are the people who call tech support to be told to turn something off and back on again; the people who get in group chats to ask strangers to tp them to a store. Lazy, ignorant people who get pissy at the idea of having to make any effort whatsoever or learn anything.

      • After hearing complaints I went to the site. It’s very nice. The mobile is awesome too.

      • I think my only complaints would be the watermark issue some of the people who post on there have and that if you click one thumbnail you have to wait for it to load the entire slideshow. The latter is more of a personal gripe since I don’t typically click through the whole slideshow vs finding specific items to look at; the former I feel needs to be addressed. If I’d paid to have my event covered and that big wing was over every single vendor image, I’d be a little annoyed.

        The loss of the existing event archive kinda sucked too, but it’s not a huge deal.
